Great thread!

The conversation that I've been having in my head is, how will you feel in an hour if you go to the gym/go for a run? How will you feel if you don't?

My goal is to exercise 4 weeknights and both days on the weekend whenever possible. And the answer to the question is usually you'll feel awesome if you work out, awful if you don't, and I project ahead to the hot shower afterward..ahhh...

However there are nights where I don't feel great or just feel really tired and decide to take a break. When that happens. I REALLY take a night off, crawl into bed, do some extra reading with my son, and generally act like a slug :-)

Oh yes I know I battle with this voice daily! I only have time to do my workouts before dinner when I get off work, but this means the rest of the house has to wait just a little later for dinner time and many nights I try making the excuse I shouldn't work out so they don't have to wait, when in reality we still eat around 6:30 and they never complain, it's just that inner voice trying to give you any out! As long as we know this and try to battle that voice it's when we come out ahead! You'll never regret getting out there and completing that workout, it's the nights we let that inner voice get the best of us that I end up regretting! BE STRONG, let the good voice win

That little voice - I could punch her if I could see her!

No, kidding aside I have the same thing. The little voice that tells me I'm to tired or, you will go in 5 minutes. Half the time I just have to ignore it and just do what I'm procrastinating to do or it will never get done. I think everybody has one, it's how you deal with it that makes it a problem or not.

I have those voices in my head too!

I argued with myself all the way from work to the gym at noon about all of the other errands I could run, or whatever.

I could have come up with 10,000 excuses to NOT workout, but in all reality, they were all things that could be done later. So, I went and worked out, and felt much better after, which I knew I would!

On the drive, I had one voice, saying, "you could go do a or be or c." And I had the other voice going, "it's one lunch hour workout, the other things can wait, this is priority!" "You know what is right."

It's still a struggle some days.
