Buddy - I'm so sorry about your brother. And it's easy for an outsider to tell you that something is easy to do. But you really do have the ability to do this. Your brother's death really should be a motivator. I do feel that you can do this in less than the time you have remaining, especially with your bother's memory pushing you on.

Why not start a challenge on here to stay on plan, exercise, drink enough water, and get enough sleep until you lose the weight. Set Labor Day as the end date, perhaps. That's just over 3 months. It allows you a couple weeks to catch up if you need to. In the 100 pound club forum there is always a monthly "points" challenge. You keep a running log of on plan eating, water, and exercise. You get points for each. The winner for the month gets - nothing - except that you did it and can't help but lose weight if you stay on plan all month long. Maybe joining that thread or starting one of your own would help motivate you. I wish you luck. You are in total control of this and I'm confident you can do it.
