It's not fat. Most likely water retention from the sodium. Drink lots of water!

No, you did not gain 2lbs. It's the sodium combined with normal body weight fluctuations. You did not consume 7000 calories, which you would have to have done in order to gain 2lbs.
Our bodies are comprised of mostly water. Depending upon whether you're working out too can contribute to weight fluctuation. Muscles hold on to water to repair themselves after working them.
Keep eating normally and the extra 2lbs will be gone before you know it.

Drink water, flush it out, and remember that fluctuations happen! You'll get past this in no time.

Water retention is not just a sodium issue. It is more of a potassium/sodium ratio.

So rather than drink a lot of water to flush the water ... just drink your normal amount of water and take it easy on the sodium for a while. Balance will be restored.

If you're in a big hurry because you have a photo shoot coming up or something you can eat foods high in potassium while avoiding sodium.

This is a HUGE irritation for me as well. I've stepped on the scale sometimes and have weighed 6 lbs more than the night before, without binging! Sodium seems to be the biggest culprit. When this happens, I have to remind myself that there's NO WAY I could have eaten that many calories to gain that much overnight and try not to freak out. It's hard to back off the sodium, especially when I adore salty foods, which lead to this kind of water retention. I'm getting better at limiting my sodium intake, but it is hard - and I pay the price on the scale otherwise, and it's disheartening when it happens.
