Default Positive Uplifting Notification: One Positive Thing About Me Today Is....part Twelve

Hello Sweet taters,

Here we are again, starting another part to the Positive Uplifting Notification thread. Well Ladies here it is..........PART TWELVE........

Today I am Happy once again to give birth to Part TWELVE of the One Positive thing about me today is.......................

It is time for new beginnings so let's get the party started!!!!!!

For all the newcomer's to this thread Let me tell a little about what we are all about. I thought this was a really cool way to reshape the way we think about things, ourselves, and just plain long stuff, you know the kind that happens in a lifetime, stuff that might throw you a curve ball. Well guess what, there is always a brighter side and that is what we look for, staying on the POSITIVE SIDE. To build our self esteem and to let us know, yes we can, instead of no we can't.

It does not matter if your Positive is big or small, about your weight or not, ANYTHING POSITIVE COUNTS. WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT YOU, ENCOURAGE YOU, TO INSPIRE YOU, TO HOLD EACH OTHER UP, AND TO HELP TOOT YOUR HORN. BELIEVE ME, YOU WILL BE SURPRISED AT HOW YOU POSTING YOUR POSITIVES WILL HELP YOU AND SO MANY OTHERS.

I encourage you, in your own time to sneak back and read the FIRST POSITIVE THREAD and even the SECOND and you will understand what a blessing this is. I hope it will in some ways touch your heart.

Now lets get THIS PARTY started and SHOW you how we roll. Jump in, sit back, take your shoes off and stay awhile, for here, we are family!!!!!!

Hugs love and blessings and remember to make every moment count
Aggie

Just a little something to share to kick off the cool weather with something good, healthy, and very very comforting without all the guilt of comfort food.
Please enjoy.

This is an old recipe I posted back in Part 10 or somewhere around there.

Let's rock and roll and get this party started!!!!!!

Yes Learn,
we are officially a dozen, and how did I know that you my girl would be first!!!! That's my Learn just POP POP POP!!!

Hugs love and blessings,
Remember to make every moment count.

Hello all!! Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. We spent a solid 5 hours walking around the zoo (plus the 2 hours it takes to get there and the 2 back... but those were all riding in the van. LOL). The kids had a great time! I'll have to post a picture soon. My legs were exhausted. Got up this morning and did our strenght training exercises again. I'm so shaky. I can't wait to get past that point. LOL

I got bad news this morning. I'm up 2.6 lbs since Sun!!! ugh It sooo makes me wanna just quit adn give up. I'm working so hard... But, my positive.. I WONT give up. I've come a way and I'm gonna have bumps in the road. I want to do this for EVERYONE'S benefit. I love that my family is exercising with me, and they are all eating healthier. I know if I quit, they would also.

Hello Lovely Ladies!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week

I have been slacking on my "daily 20" dose of 3FC. Im sorry. OY!! I have had a WONDERFUL week of pondering & reflection (cheesy I know) but I read a talk that made me feel so much better and encouraged me to better myself for the sake of others. Its not specifically about weight, its more about judging others & charity. Its a VERY long talk but I thought I would share one of my favorite stories. I apologize for the length but I promise its so worth reading, I sobbed through the entire talk!! LOL.

One evening a truly awful-looking old man came to the door asking if there was room for him to stay the night. He was stooped and shriveled, and his face was lopsided from swelling—red and raw. He said he’d been hunting for a room since noon but with no success. “I guess it’s my face,” he said. “I know it looks terrible, but my doctor says it could possibly improve after more treatments.” He indicated he’d be happy to sleep in the rocking chair on the porch. As she talked with him, Mary realized this little old man had an oversized heart crowded into that tiny body. Although her rooms were filled, she told him to wait in the chair and she’d find him a place to sleep.
At bedtime Mary’s husband set up a camp cot for the man. When she checked in the morning, the bed linens were neatly folded and he was out on the porch. He refused breakfast, but just before he left for his bus, he asked if he could return the next time he had a treatment. “I won’t put you out a bit,” he promised. “I can sleep fine in a chair.” Mary assured him he was welcome to come again.
In the several years he went for treatments and stayed in Mary’s home, the old man, who was a fisherman by trade, always had gifts of seafood or vegetables from his garden. Other times he sent packages in the mail.
When Mary received these thoughtful gifts, she often thought of a comment her next-door neighbor made after the disfigured, stooped old man had left Mary’s home that first morning. “Did you keep that awful-looking man last night? I turned him away. You can lose customers by putting up such people.”
Mary knew that maybe they had lost customers once or twice, but she thought, “Oh, if only they could have known him, perhaps their illnesses would have been easier to bear.”
After the man passed away, Mary was visiting with a friend who had a greenhouse. As she looked at her friend’s flowers, she noticed a beautiful golden chrysanthemum but was puzzled that it was growing in a dented, old, rusty bucket. Her friend explained, “I ran short of pots, and knowing how beautiful this one would be, I thought it wouldn’t mind starting in this old pail. It’s just for a little while, until I can put it out in the garden.”
Mary smiled as she imagined just such a scene in heaven. “Here’s an especially beautiful one,” God might have said when He came to the soul of the little old man. “He won’t mind starting in this small, misshapen body.” But that was long ago, and in God’s garden how tall this lovely soul must stand!

My positive for the day is: I love Charity & Kindness I love being kind and helping others, I love being blessed with great & caring friends.

Ok please forgive me...one more. LOL. I think its so funny!! Enjoy and its a great lesson

A young couple, Lisa and John, moved into a new neighborhood. One morning while they were eating breakfast, Lisa looked out the window and watched her next-door neighbor hanging out her wash.

“That laundry’s not clean!” Lisa exclaimed. “Our neighbor doesn’t know how to get clothes clean!”

John looked on but remained silent.

Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, Lisa would make the same comments.

A few weeks later Lisa was surprised to glance out her window and see a nice, clean wash hanging in her neighbor’s yard. She said to her husband, “Look, John—she’s finally learned how to wash correctly! I wonder how she did it.”

John replied, “Well, dear, I have the answer for you. You’ll be interested to know that I got up early this morning and washed our windows!”

Are we looking through a window which needs cleaning? Are we making judgments when we don’t have all the facts? What do we see when we look at others? What judgments do we make about them?

OMG,

Good evening ladies,
First of all, thank you CJ, I thought I had added the attachment and did not, how silly was that of me!!!1 Thank you for the link.

WHITE CHICKEN CHILI

Makes 9 cups
1 pound chicken breasts, diced
14 ounces chicken broth (1½ cups)
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Pepper to taste
1 large onion, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
1 tablespoon minced garlic
8 ounces canned chopped mild green chilies
2 tablespoons flour
28 ounces canned white beans, rinsed
14 ounces canned corn, including liquid
1 tablespoon vinegar

2 cups fat-free half 'n' half
½ cup low-fat sour cream
½ teaspoon Tabasco
Garnish with chopped cilantro
Cook chicken in splash of the chicken broth in a Dutch oven over medium heat until cooked. Heat remaining broth in microwave. Transfer chicken to a dish to hold.
Melt butter with chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper. Add onion, red pepper, garlic and chilies; cook until onion is soft. Stir in flour; cook 1 minute. Stir in hot broth, chicken, beans, corn and vinegar. Cover and bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer for 90 minutes. Stir in half 'n' half, sour cream and Tabasco; rewarm but do not boil. Serve and enjoy!
NUTRITION ESTIMATE Per Cup: 261 Cal; 7g Tot Fat; 3g Sat Fat; 32g Carb; 5g Fiber; 1013mg Sodium; 44mg Cholesterol; Weight Watchers 5 points

To make it even easier, I bought a low sodium rotissere chicken already cooked from farm fresh and used low sodium chicken broth. Both good nutritional choices. Hope you love it as much as I do. This is another Weight Watcher's recipe.

I like spicy so I add garlic paste and chili pepper blend paste to kick it up a notch.

I cannot believe I did that, but here it is now in living color

Last positive for the day......CAROL stop your toe tapping the verdict is in...................I am officially down another pound!!!!! Yay
Me:du st:

Jack,
Trust and believe me, I know exactly how you feel, but you are right quitting and giving up is not an option. Listen to me and listen to me well, It has taken me two years to get to this almost 40 pounds and I have had every bump in the road you could possibly imagine but you know what, even if it has taken me two years I am still almost 40 lighter than when I started ( not 40 pounds heavier, 40 pounds lighter) so no matter how long it has taken me, I am still in a better place than two years ago. The race is not always won by the swift but by the determined, the constant, the not quitting, so please please take my hand and let's do this together, who said it was a race anyway!!!!!
Wow baby and sometimes when you think you are doing everything just right, just keep on ding it, change is gonna come!!!!
I am so glad you enjoyed your trip, you sure got a whole lot of exercise in girl. Your payoff when it comes will be big....just wait for it!!!!

Inked,
that was more than worth the read, it was phenomenal and I am so much more blessed after having read it. You have blessed my day more than you know, that was more of a blessing than releasing that one more pound, that satisfied my soul!!! I cannot thank you enough!!! OM Goodness, I just read your second post and I just told that very same story last week at work to some co-workers and posted something related to that on facebook just this week. Great minds baby, great minds!!!

Shia,
What's up baby????? Love seeing your face anytime, and anywhere!!!!!

Gotta run and fix dinner for the girls, they are all at Boot Camp with an extra dose of Zumba afterwards, they sheall be one tired bunch upon return. Talk about kicking it up a notch!!..

Hugs love and blessings,
Let's make every moment count,
and make sure YOUR windows are clean,
Ags

Ink,
you have to click on the advanced tab and it has a drop down that will give you different sizes to pick from. It is so easy, you will see it.

Now ladies,

I do not know if you have ever heard of a restaurant called Fazoli's, it is Italian and the have some great baked spaghetti
, but I am here tonight to tell you tonight that Fazoli's ain't got nothing on this mean, clean, rockin' cookin machine. My baked spahgetti rocked the house, with a slight kick to boot. Oh yeah, and even though it was sooooo mouth watering......I only had one small serving on a saucer sized plate. OH YEAH LITTLE MOMMA"S I ROCK!!!!

I am running late, I have 10 minutes to drink my coffee and then I gotta get my son up to eat his breakfast before school. Extremely rough night last night, will explain later when I return. Just wanted to open the store, but Heather beat me to it. Thanks Heather!
