OK this is what I need. I am just starting, so this is the motivation I could use to get the weight loss going. I am currently at 210 and would LOVE to be at 200 by Dec. 1st. It will be a challenge since there is a holiday this month. Here is to staying on track.

Absolutely 100% in. I lost weight in October but did not dedicate myself to the gym like I did in September. Ready to rededicate myself this month. Already made myself proud by going to the gym everyday this week. I have a few weeks left until I see my parents at Thanksgiving & I know if I keep eating right and go to the gym as much as humanly possible I can push into the 150's before I see my parents!!! I HAVE TO DO THIS!!!!

Morning!
Today's weigh in was 214.6. Worked 16 hour days all this week (so far, hopefully not today!) and I finally got to do my first workout of the week last night... and then I collapsed into bed, lol. Whew, I'm tired, but I'm happy with my loss so far! Working for/from/because of the storm on the east coast means long days and 3 meals a day ordered in.. Ugh. I've managed to keep my cals under 1600ish each day. I've also tried to get up from my desk and walk around 10 times a day, besides just bathroom trips! I will make this! WE ALL CAN DO THIS! :carrot: WOO! (I think I'm hyper from lack of sleep...) |
Weighed in at 196.6 which is a huge motivation for me right now. I had a binge episode the other day, so seeing good numbers on a scale (even though they aren't the most important factor) is just a reminder that the weight does come off.
I take medications for anxiety/depression and I'm always worried I won't be able to lose any weight because of them.. on the meds I've gained all of my weight. I've been using those meds as an excuse for so long, but I'm wondering if really they had little to do with my weight gain and it was all me feeling better and eating more as a result. I hope it's the latter. Because I can fix that! Still have about 2 weeks before my Elliptical gets here (I ordered it yesterday). Gives me something to look forward to, haha. |
I only lost 3 lb last month so I'm aiming to lose at least 4 lb this month. My body doesn't seem to want to let the weight go.
|
^ I have that problem too... I feel like I need to shock/surprise my body or something :s
Anyways, I think I'm down to 154.8 from 156.2 - realistically. I didn't eat much except yesterday when I did around 1600 calories so yeahh |
Count me in!

Ok, those of you that have managed to lose 7-10lb in a month, I need your advice. Any tips you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I have just under 2 months to lose 17lbs. Its not a do or die thing but I would really like to be under 2002 by Nest Years.
Any ideas? |

17 lbs in 2 months is, in my opinion, very doable if you are committed to it. Set yourself some habits and schedules, which is what I try to do. I have a bottle of water with me everywhere and always sipping on it (to up the water intake -- water helps flush the crap out of your system which in turn helps your metabolism), I have set times each day that I will exercise and I know what I will be doing each and every day so I never have to "figure it out", I just know ahead of time all the time and can expect it, and plan your meals out -- you can even do this for days or weeks at a time! This way you know what's going down at any point in time. I also have a very big rule I never break: I don't put it in my mouth unless I know exactly (within reason) how many calories are in it. This means if it isn't packaged with this information, I have to google it / look it up, then weigh it and determine to a reasonable degree how many calories are in it. If I don't know? I don't eat it. Plain and simple. This has kept me on track in the past. Habits and schedules keep me on track. If I don't have these things, I'm lost. Once you get about a week of these habits/schedules under your belt, it becomes more automatic over time. You just know what needs to be done, and you've got a track record of getting it done, so you just.. keep going :D That's just my personal plan of attack though. I'm very schedule-minded. |
This is totally happening! I missed out on October but I've been meaning to get to 135 for weeks and it just isn't happening. Hopefully this will be the push that I've needed!
CW 142 GW 135 Hopefully Thanksgiving won't pose too much of a problem! |
@howellbe I definitely echo what Raine has said. To keep a schedule and just monitor everything you're eating. Exactly what Raine said, if you can't even reasonably figure out how many calories are in something, then eat something else.
I otherwise will say, let's say your day looks to be a rough day where you think you can't find time to exercise. I say on those days, commit to exercising at least 20 minutes, even if it's just a walk. I did the last month to try to reduce the number of days I didn't work out because of life and I still lost 8 pounds for the month through working out, even if it was only a little bit per day, and counting calories. :) Good luck! As for me, ugh my scale has not been kind this month. I started off the month at 176 and I'm still at 176, it even went up to 178 a few days then came back to 176. :( I was able to work out 5 days this week, so I'm still on track with that. I know I have ate a little more this week, bit I am sure I have not had more than 1500 calorie days. This is high for me since I normally stick to 1300 calorie days. :( Ahh tomorrow is my birthday! In the morning I am going to run my 2nd 10K race (a free race put on by my friend who works at a running store!) and then i'm going to enjoy sushi as my birthday dinner. I hope my body cooperates with me here soon! |
Happy early birthday, solarplant :D

Nevertheless... I'm going back to the place I was at a few years ago when I dieted - and then I bounced back and gained 30 lb in one year :O :O - but basically, I've never been more than a few pounds lighter than I am right now. :^: |
