Default Perception Is Everything?

Do you ever get excited about weighing because you "feel" like you've lost only to find out you haven't lost. After you find out you haven't lost you "feel" pudgy and heavy. Why is that? 5 min ago you felt thin. Anybody ever feel this way?

Yes, I absolutely feel that way. Maybe it's a Tennessee thing.

Yep, totally, it's crazy, right?

But then normally I check my measurements and sometimes they are smaller. Your body shrinking doesn't necessarily show up on the scale right away.

OMG....yes, unfortunately. For instance, I used to weigh every day, now that I'm in maintenance, I weigh once a week on Monday morning. This morning I felt famished when I woke up. That's actually the reason I woke up, because my stomach was growling and pestering me so bad.

I felt like my belly button was touching my spine. LOL. Hopped on the scale, not one ounce lighter than last week, just all in my head. I instantly felt less hungry. Nice to know I'm not alone.............

I am NEVER upset if I haven't lost weight. I am just so thankful that I could stay at a consistent weight all the way until I decided to weigh myself again. I figure that when my body is ready to let go it will and until then I'll just support it in its fight to stay at the same weight. ^_^

I always say, "perception is reality." One of the reasons I don't weigh is that I've allowed the scale to screw with my head and mess me up. I am much more successful just focusing on behaviors than on the scale number.

Couldn't have written it better myself, I absolutely feel like this and am trying to train myself into not assuming i have lost weight because I just get my hopes up!

I am the same weigh. If I feel hungry in the morning, I have a pre-conceived notion that I will weigh less. That is definitely not always the case. Sometimes I am even up a pound. It ruins my day.
