Angry Monday Night

HI LADIES

Well, I am over my football loss-- thanks to the support of you guys. It was a long time coming (27 yrs for my #2 team-- and 19 yrs for my #1 team) I just wish they didn't have to play each other. Oh my-- can I complain or what?

It has really been hot here (sorry for those still freezing ) in the 80's the last few days-- kinda like it and kinda don't--- HA! see-- still complaining!!

I lost a couple of pounds last week-- tried to eat salads and fruit during the day and no junk. We had a party for my bil so I blew it Sat. then Sun. with the game -- well, lets just say there were alot of these little sausages to start with and none were leftover.

The wife started training today to run a couple of 5k's we entered , if her knees hold up. I will just walk them no matter what, however one of the races we do is really flat (the only race I have done that I didn't stop and walk in) I may run that one-- we shall see-- they aren't until the end of Feb. and April.

Well college son informed me he needs this computer real bad to do homework-----

IN CHRIST-- GOD BLESS ALL MY FRIENDS, Gary

Hello my friends ~

I'm here to say something to you all, my wonderful Christian friends who have been there for me as I attempted to eat better and lose weight. I've been in the CHRISTIAN ENCOURAGERS from the day I logged on to 3FC, 3 yrs ago and I've struggled, going up and down, all that time......until recently. This past September, I finally asked the Lord to help me in this. All these years of praying and asking God for 'stuff', I never really thought of turning my weight loss over to Him. I finally did just the last September and with the support of all of you, I am almost at my goal.

I've learned one thing.....numbers mean nothing. I mean, I had/have this goal of being 148 lbs ~ at 5'7", that's THIN on me. I am around 160 now and with only 12 lbs to that goal, I'm realizing that 155 may be the target weight. I say this because in wanting to be 148 lbs (just because that sounds better than 150 somthing.......), I have also just wanted to be a size 12. Again, for my height, that's a good weight...(oh and for my 40-something age too. ...) So today, I pulled out my old size 12 dockers and oh my goodness.....that are none too tight!! I am on my knee in thanks.

And although I know that God is the one, He has given me all of you to help me through......thank you all for the love, friendship and support you've given to me. I really, really appreciate all of you.

In Christ's Love,
Patti <><

Zoe: You are so right in what you're saying. I know I tend to try things on my own when I should be going to God first. It would save a lot of frustration. Thanks for the reminder. I haven't gained any weight but I know I will if I keep on the path I'm on. Thanks for the reminder! I wish I could say I'm near my goal but I do have a good 20 lbs. to go. I'm so proud of you for sticking to it and getting to your goal. You must look great! It must be time to go shopping!!!

Gary: PLEASE send your warm weather to Canada. It's still cold here although it has warmed up a bit. I am so ready for spring. I'm looking forward to getting outside and going for walks in the neighbourhood and getting to know my new neighbours. I also think that underneath all the snow is quite a lovely little yard and I'm looking forward to seeing what's going to come up.

Have a wonderful day! Today I will stay away from snack foods.

Angry Tuesday

Good Morning EVERYONE!!!!

It's a good morning to be alive! I am feeling a little better this morning. Yesterday was long and I had some difficulty getting all my patients seen and was exhausted last night. But rest helps so much!!! I have a light day today and am looking forward to it.

Gary~ Congratulations on the loss!!! We knew you could do. Most men can lose a little easier than women. But not all. But you are doing good!! Good thing for your eating that the Super Bowl only comes once a year. Just kidding!! I hope you really enjoyed Sunday's game. And BTW, we all can complain. LOL

Wilma~ At least you maintained. If you have to have the ice cream just get a very small amount and eat it really slowly.

Sue~ I'm still waiting to hear when my appt will be. They didn't call me back yesterday and when I called I got the voice mail and left a message but still haven't heard. I will call again this morning.

Hope EVERYONE has a GOOD OP day! Don't forget the water! Let's get moving!

Thank you all for all your prayers, encouragement and support. You are the best!!!

WTG Zoe!!! Give yourself a pat on the back!!!!

Wilma~ It's warmed up here the last few days. And boy am I glad. Don't ya think Gary needs to try harder to send that WARM weather!!! I'll try to send you a little of mine.

Default Cardiologist appt

Hello Everyone!!!

Just wanted to drop in for a minute and tell you that I now have an appointment with another cardiologist on Monday Feb3rd. The only draw back that I know of is that he is FOUR hours away!! BUT, I think this is necessary and I feel good about it all. Please continue to pray about all this and the traveling, taking care of kids, etc.... We have no family around to help out with the kiddos. And I hate to ask friends to help out, but I just must.

Have a good afternoon!!

BTW, Sue I'm sending warmer weather your way. :

Sherry,
I'm so glad you have a second opinion for your condition. Several years ago, I worked for a cardiologist in his office and cath lab. Sometimes, docs do have very different opinions. Hope this 2nd opinion is a better option for you. I know that God never closes a door without opening another one, so he will provide for you no matter what. I will pray for the logistics of child care, etc, while you go see the doctor.

Patti- I agree with your input about trusting God, and turning it over to Him. It so easy to get caught up with numbers.
I have just completed my first week on a diet, and am soon leaving for a TOPS meeting. I will keep you all posted.

Sherry, I forgot to tell you what kind of shakes I've been having.
They are Revival Soy shakes, available through the mail. They were developed by a physician, and each shake has the equilevant of 6 glasses of soy. I like the different flavors, as they mask the soy taste. The web site is www.revivalsoy.com.
I also, have Atkins shakes sometimes, as I love some of their flavors/conveinence that they have.
I really love this web site, as I feel so supported by fellow believers. Believe me, it is wonderful to know I have support, and I can give support, also.

In His Love, Catherine

. THANK GOD IT'S TUESDAY

Or any day for that matter! Thank God for all things!!

ZOE You are the CHAMPION !! As far as I figure girl-- have 2 goals 155 'cause that might be your max-- HOWEVER-- if you are always shooting for 148 you should be able to walk around with a knowing that you reached your BODY goal.

WILMA O.K. dear I am sending you some warm weather-- not too much though because it has dropped to 71 here (SORRY) at least you have some snow-- if I want to see it I have to drive for 2 hours.

SUE You are right you WON big time-- next year we will bet on it -- here is hoping both teams make it again-- but I bet you really wanted the Jets or the Giants.

SHERRY I hope the new cardiologist has better news for you-- but 4 hours for drive for your lifetime of health is nothing girl!! I hope your DH is driving you and you get a chance to spend some time together W/O the kiddos.[B]

CATHERINE Have fun at your TOPS mtg. I hope those soy shakes do the trick for you.

HI to everyone else-- gotta finish dinner-- it is only canned beef stew tonight with salad and bread.

IN HIS ARMS-- Gary

I've had a bad day food wise.......can't leave those carbs alone after my day off on the weekend. I'm going to have to really think about not having a day off, it just puts me back so far.

The drain has cleared but then it clogs again and it seems that the part of the septic system is froze. As long as it'll clear i'm ok. May have to wait awhile to have it permanently fixed.

Patti, what an inspiration you are! Congrats on your weight loss! Woo hoo for you!

I'm sorry i didn't individually post, i'm still getting to know who's who.....but you are all very encouraging.

Seems I need to go read my bible again and get some control on my eating

Angry Tuesday night

Hello Again Everyone!!!

I know everything about my Dr's appt will work out well. I feel better about everything already. :

Catherine~ Good luck with your weigh in tonight!!! I have tried some different types of shakes but don't really think I could do that regularly. What seems to work better for me is trying to learn to eat healthy and going back to basics, or God's food. By that I mean meat, fruits, veggies, breads, no packaged foods, etc... As long as I eat lots of fruits and veggies I was losing regularly till all this fluid invaded my body. I'm still not back down to my non edematous state.

Gary~ Glad to see you checking in. Yes, I admit it, I am looking forward to spending time with my DH. I almost wish my appt was really earlier so we had to go Sunday. But under the circumstances we probably don't need to spend the extra. But you can bet I will enjoy the quality time together!

Well, better hit the hay. Have a good night.

Real quick early morning gotta be to work at 6am and I gotta leave in 5 mins. just waiting for COFF-E-E. I can't function without it. Unhappy Not a Football Fan

I'm Canadian, "HOCKEY", the only game in town
Glad you all enjoyed the Super Bowl.

Where is that warm weather?
Wilma, you've not got it out West have you?
We've more snow again this morning, a picture post card.

Weigh in saw me gain 1.2 but then, I'd just weighed in on Thursday and it was only Monday so I'm not terribly worried at this point. When forced to miss a Monday we've the opportunity to do another meeting in a nearby town, on the Thursday.
I hope your all having a good OP week.

Thanks for your encouraging words as we search a place of Worship.
God is indeed GREAT and Forgiving.
Enough tears have been shed, I need the above statement repeated to me daily. God Bless each of you.

I'm off to visit a dear friend who's father is facing surgery.
I say prayers for each of you entering into the same, and dealing with health issues.
Take care, Fear Not because God is with us Always!

Love Fellow Christian Joanne

Default Good Morning!

It's still -29C here this morning. But, it's supposed to get to -5C by Friday so I have something to look forward to.

I had a better evening last night. I ate only a bit of ice cream and had an orange instead of snacking all evening. I need to find some motivation to get things done in the evening. I don't feel like doing anything and when I don't I feel really lethargic. Guess there's my answer, right?

Joanne: I wouldn't worry about the gain. Just get back on track and you'll do fine!

doitforme: Have a great day! I love your positive attitude!

Sami: It's so good to have you back. I miss you when you're gone. I'll keep both your daughter and you in my prayers this week. Hope her surgery goes well!

mrshummer: No, 4 hours isn't a long drive for your health. Where we lived before this we had to drive 2 hours to get anywhere. I hope all goes well and this specialist has good news for you.

mitchypoo: I know what you're talking about - those nasty carbs. I'm having the same problem. I do make sure I take a salad to work each day. At least I get my veggies in and I don't have any options because I don't go out for lunch.

Gary: Thanks for the warm weather. It'll be here in a couple of days. How are you doing with your WOE? How much did you want to lose?

Catherine: The shakes sound good. I'll have to try them. I agree with you about this board. We have a bunch of awesome people around here.

Well, I better get going. My van needs to run for a few minutes before I leave for work and I still haven't had my toast. Have a super day! God bless each one of you!
