Default Weird scale numbers?

Hi all!

Just wondering ... cos this morning I got on the scale, a little shocked at the 2lb increase since I hadn't done anything different in the past few days. Then I just put the kettle on.... step on again, and it's down by 3? I don't know which number to take now! It's either I've gained or stayed the same? Anyone have these funny scale problems?

Mine is a Salter, I got from Argos...

Its brand new, well about 2 months... No I had the same amount of clothing and everything. But I noticed that when I switched the units (lbs - kg) and back to lbs, it showed higher. Then after the first reading... the second reading shows lower. I'm so confused I don't know if I've gained or what!

I step on my scale three to four times within a minute to pick the most stable number. How you have your feet, leaning forward or backwards, all of these things can alter the numbers. Like this morning Mine first reast 233.2, then 232.8, then 233.2 again. The middle time, my left foot was a little in back of the right foot accidentally. So yes, fluctuations happen.

However a 3 lbs difference is a BIG difference. I probably would have stepped on it several more times to see if it is consistently doing wonky things and if it was, I would change the batteries.

Oh, also if you have it on a tile floor, make sure it's feet are not resting on cracks/grout lines.

Oh man... yeah I think you're right. But when I stepped on it repeatedly it shows the same number. Then after about a minute, step again and it's completely different. Strange!!

Will have to see tomorrow I suppose... >.<
