It's obviously too late now for the first 50, but that doesn't mean you can't do it for the last.

You should take a picture of yourself, once a week- in the same place, wearing the same clothes and in the same position.

Seeing it in pictures I sure will be more rewarding.

I've been thinking about doing it too. But then I'd actually have to take a picture of myself!

the above picture does compare when I started to now.

All I can say is keep at it. I've lost 24 lbs now and am only starting to see a difference.

You can DEFINITELY see the difference in your waist in the pictures where you are sitting down. there's a huge difference! Keep up the good work!!!

ETA: someone else mentioned getting new clothes and I second that. Wearing the right clothes makes a world of difference. That's one reason I normally switch to pregnancy clothes very early on because it helps me feel pregnant and now fat. Ditto when losing weight, new clothes help you see the difference much more!

Trust me, I know EXACTLY how you feel! I'm almost at 50lbs lost and I think I look exactly the same. My mom insists I'm "half the size" but I just don't see it! The pants I wore when I was heavier are still tight so I guess I haven't lost much fat in my thighs. I also still have a lot of lower stomach pooch and HUGE arms. I think I'm mostly losing weight in my stomach/waist area and my face...I'd rather it come off of my arms and stomach pooch. Fat never disappears where we want it to disappear!

I'm mostly looking forward to the below 200lb weight. I've noticed a lot of people say that as they get smaller even 5 pound losses look much more drastic.

A lot of it has to do with the fact that you see yourslef everyday, so you don't notice. Think about it, if your roomate gained 10-15 lbs you wouldn't really notice but if you saw an old friend you'd notice. I'm sure people that you only see once in awhile can really tell. Keep it up!

i think you can see a difference in you face as well as your tummy, from the picture of you sitting in your blue shirt to the one of you in the black shirt.. And your doing amazing!! dont get discouraged now!

I have trouble seeing the difference in myself too, but the difference in sizes is more obvious. Try on some of the size 20/22 clothes again.
And I vote with the new clothes, and something that makes you feel attractive. Sorry, jeans and t-shirts are NOT the thing.
I have only gone down one size, from 14 to 12 but getting my new work wardrobe (2 skirts, 2 dress pants, some tops and sweaters to go with them) was a real boost. I felt good and looked good.
You are looking really good to me, and I can see the difference, but I know how hard we are on ourselves.

Hi I'm a newbie

You've done a fantastic job to lose so much weight, very inspirational! I can definately see it all over but the face is always most prominent. I experienced the same problem initially but kept going eventually seeing results through my own eyes.

When your bigger the weight does fly off in the early stages and is sometimes hard to see but when you get nearer you target it gets a little harder with more visual results (where I am now)

Please keep it up, try a diff routine sneak up on your own body and surprise it! Well done...
