Default Need Help

I don't know where to start. What diet should I follow? I did change to Splenda on coffee and started drinking more water. Eating veggies, fruits, changed to wheat bread. I also started fixing meals with Turkey. No coke. What else should I do? or what diet do you recommend I follow? Thanks

I would recommend not focusing on wheat bread. Many people are irritable to wheat and don't even know it. There are a lot of other kinds of breads that are really good. You might want to try ezekiel bread and maybe spelt bread. Even whole grain bread would be better than wheat in my opinion.

If you want something fairly simple, I suggest calorie counting. This is what I do and I have this awesome app on my phone that lets me keep track of what I eat and the nutrition facts for them.
Keep in mind there are SOO many different types of diets out there and they ALL work... just for different people. So you might have to try on a few different ones before you find the one for you. The changes you've made so far seem to be working well for you, so definitely stick with those.

Edit: I just realized you might be curious about foods also... You can look for more lean meats, like baked turkey breast, ground turkey, chicken breasts. Also, focus on getting in more veggies and fruits. You'll notice they will help you feel more full than other foods. Best of luck!

A good first step while you figure out what plan or diet you may want to follow would be to start tracking and journalling all your food/drink intake right now. Then you'll have a good idea of where you're starting from and where you might need to make changes. Track faithfully and honestly!

You're off to a pretty good start. Even just by eliminating two 12 oz cans of coke/day, that's a calorie savings that adds up to a pound every 11 days. (It doesn't quite work that way -- 3500 cals / pound is just an estimate -- but it's close enough.)

Basically, any diet that creates a caloric deficit (calories consumed minus calories burned through body function, exercise, and daily life) and that you can stick to over the long haul will work, at your stage. Many novice dieters, especially women, cut protein and fat too much and rely too much on refined carbs and "diet" foods, but if you're eating more turkey and veggies and less junk, you're doing well.

Good luck!
