I drink coffee (never buy starbucks, just drink it at home) and lots of tea. My family drinks a lot of tea so there is always a big pot in the kitchen and we heat a mug of it in the microwave if it has gotten cool. The type of tea we drink is usually a mix and it's almost always at least partially green tea (though rarely all green).
I usually add a little nonfat powdered milk and sometimes a little truvia. I account for the NFPM calories by tacking on 100 calories every day (based on the time it took me to go through an entire package that I tracked).
I suspect that it does help with weight loss, but I always drink it, so there is no way of noticing a difference. Part of the benefit is always having a go-to comfort food substitute. There are other health benefits, it's cheap when made at home, and I really enjoy it, so I don't see any real downside.
