I am new to this site, just joined yesterday and am think I have finally found a way to get the support I need. I was just wanting to see if there were any other San Diegan's out there! Local support is always good as well.
I live in Mira Mesa, so not far from Mission Valley. I work out at 24 fitness, but am trying to be more involved just in even outdoor things like walking and what not. Having someone here local would make things even easier. Plus someone who understand what I am going through, versus my boyfriend who doesn't have an ounce of fat. LoL.
I'm very open to walking at Balboa Park, the Marina, parks in a central area, anywhere where it's pretty level at this point, as I'll work up to more strenuous walks gradually.
I can bring a guest to the YMCA for yoga and such on occasion too. I'm gonna be out of town for a bit, but let's coordinate after I return (on the 20th). I hope others chime in too! We can keep in touch here until then.
I'm no longer in SD, but I highly recommend hikes in Torrey Pines Park. It isn't much of a hike at all, more like a (short)walk on an uneven surface. There are different trails so you can walk as much as you want or as little as you want in a day. Big Bonus: Every one of those trails will take you to a majestic view of the cliffs and the ocean. Enjoy for those of us who can't! : )

For approximately the next 5 days I live in Mira Mesa, too! I'm not too keen on walking Lake Miramar in the rain, but I'm always up for new friends.
