I've been really scared of trying 30DS too. I've read and heard that people are bedridden the next day cause they're so sore! Well, ok, that's an exaggeration but I took a boxing class back in March and OMG, for TWO days I would wince when I sat down. My body took quite a beating and not from boxing, just the exercises!
So far, I've only seen the first 5 minutes and there's a lot of calisthenics (jumping jacks and stuff). That um might just be the warmup. Anyway, I'll be doing it tomorrow so I'll fill you guys in on it. Hey Echo - way to go on all the revisions!! That's wonderful! I love my committee too. They were all really nice and supportive even though they asked good questions. I was happy. I think I would do my defense over again if I had to, which I never thought I would say. :) So I'm going to ignore the chip bag tomorrow. Just iggy it and go eat an apple or something. I miss my apples and grapes and bananas. I need to eat those instead of this crap (even if it is deliciously fried veggies, argh!). I thought about buying those bags of mini chips when I had a love affair with anything frito-lay. I never did buy it because A. my mom would throw a fit (I lived at home then) and B. I knew I'd eat the whole damn bag in one sitting. :o I'm STILL psyched about my exercising today. I feel so with it. :p I'm also anticipating an increase in weight tomorrow because I was sore today. Man, I can't believe that back in late August, this walk was a "light" workout. Never got sore. Now, I'm getting sore. Boo. Oh well, I'll keep at it and I won't get sore for long! :) Angela - don't remember if I said this, but I'm glad your nephew is doing ok. It's no wonder he called for you, you're an awesome aunt! :D |
Sunni, I'll be looking for your report tomorrow. I don't own it yet and I don't want to waste the money on it if I won't be in a place where I can handle it for another 6 months, you know. Okay. So $15 isn't really a lot of money to spend, but that's half of what I spent on my dumbbells today and I know that I'll get my money's worth from them, you know.
Besides that, I know it's a healthy work out and she's got a great reputation and all, but I don't think I want to lose 20 pounds in a month. I think 1) it would be setting my standards really high when I'm not on 30DS and 2) if it is one of those workouts that leaves you really sore the next day, I don't think I'll be able to do it right now. I have to drive 45 minutes to and from work everyday. I watch a very active 11 month old little boy. I don't want to have to worry about whether or not I'll be too sore to function properly in those situations. XD |
awwwe... thank Sunni! you are such a sweet person! and yes I will try to figure how to get some pics on here.. Sunni you can see them on my FB, and echo I have been meaning to ask you if you have FB? or anyone else who would like to add me to Facebook in this thread,, Hydra or anyone of my wonderful support team here.. lol if you want to add to FB just private messege me your email.

I'm confessing. :(
I've been doing great on low-carb all week, even though my parents (now living with them) are carboholics. My husband was in a bad mood, and I made him brownies. They. Were. Good. I couldn't resist. I had one and a glass of milk. Grar. I know that little bit won't bring back the 7 pounds I lost. Nowhere close. I should have had the will-power to say "No," though. Ah well, food should be my friend, not my enemy, and a brownie now and then (first junk food in weeks) isn't a bad thing. On the plus side, we walked all over the place today at a carnival/pumpkin patch place. Got some awesome pics of baby boy sitting in the middle of the patch, too! |
That's the way to think about it, Altari. It's okay to treat yourself. Everything in moderation. And look at it this way. You stopped after one brownie, didn't you? That's means that you did have the will-power to say, "Just one." Which, frankly, I think is harder sometimes than saying no altogether.

Sorry I've been MIA this weekend - Saturday was busy and today I spent most of the day cleaning. I was definitely off plan yesterday (ugh) - I ordered a sensible dinner, but had a cupcake in the morning and more than a few chips at the restaurant before dinner. I had a great time (I went to a Halloween parade and then out for a friend's birthday), but I feel a little guilty.
I didn't do great today, but I definitely did better. Brunch: 1 piece whole wheat toast, 1/2 cup grits, 2 scrambled eggs, 1 cup mixed fruit S: 1 apple D: 2 slices homemade pizza, 1 cup green beans E: 40 minutes on the treadmill and free weights I hope everyone else had a more on plan weekend! |
Calories went really well yesterday. And water intake did, too. I'm working on getting up to where I need to be. This week, I'm aiming at drinking at least 50 ounces a day. If I can manage that, I'll be pretty pleased with myself.
I'm excited about working out with weights this afternoon. Yay! I'm worried, though, about how things are going to go starting Wednesday. When I go back to work. It's not real work; I babysit a friend's son for her. But I don't want to wait until I get home to work out. At best, I get home about 630pm. But it's literally a 12-hour ordeal most days. It's a 45 min drive to her house and then works a 9-hour shift with about 30mins of travel time to and from herself. On the days where she has to be at work by 8am, it means I have to get up by 6am just to have enough time to take care of my dogs and get to her house by 730. Sigh. But I will find a way. I have some plans in mind, but until I can talk to her tomorrow, I won't know for sure if they'll work out. |
I just found this new place to order lunch from, I got a tomato and mozzarella salad today that was the most delicious I have ever tasted!
|
Yoovie, I looove tomatoes and I looooove mozzarella! Send some my way. ^^

Without the calories, Echo!
Just finished my workout today with my weights. Yay! I'm surprised at how quickly I've gotten into the workout where I don't walk away feeling like I have no bones. I know I'm getting a good workout because I feel it when I move around, run after the puppies, go to pick up something heavy. That dull ache that screams of the fierceness underneath. But it's not like that first day I started working out again. Just sitting at the kitchen table, I felt like a pile of goo that day. I am beyond excited, though about having the weights. They were exactly what I was needing in my upper body workout. I kept it simple. Went with the light weights for everything. I didn't want to immediately start with really heavy weights and not be able to keep proper form. As it is, just the low weights make me have to concentrate that much harder on some of the exercises. For the first time, I could feel the muscles around my ribcage engaging while I was doing the ribcage pullovers. I was like. WOOT... oops. Proper form, proper form! I also noticed something weird though, my right arm is a lot stronger than my left arm. Hahahaha. Not by like a freaky amount, but sometimes, using the light weight would make me really work hard on the left and only get a moderate workout on the right... I wonder how stuff like that happens? I assume it's probably got something to do with the fact that I'm right handed? My only regret about today? I wish I'd worked a little harder on the crunches. I worked as hard as I had been, but they're already starting to build muscle and I probably could have done some of the intermediate modifications without too much trouble. Ah well... tomorrow. Eta: Already at about 42 ounces of water for today. Woot! |
