Default Strange weight gain

I weighed 155.5 lbs on Thursday morning of last week. I weighed in at 160.5 this morning. 5 lbs in 4 days? I worked out Fri, Sat, and Sunday and didn't overeat this weekend. I did have a piece of pizza on Sunday, so perhaps sodium/bloating? What else could be the issue?

This is frustrating since my trainer is going to make me get on the scale today at the gym!

Could be the sodium, time of the month or your muscles holding water from extra working out. This too shall pass.

Well, I don't get a period, but maybe the working out. And the sodium. Ugh. I made lots of good food choices this weekend and definitely did not overeat.

I would say it is water/bloating.

It isn't probably true weight, weight fluctuates, so give it some time to see if it goes down. Sometimes my weight will shoot up like 5 or 6 pounds with me going NOOOOOOOOOOOO then the next day or two it goes back down. hehe.

Are you weighing yourself the same time everyday? I weigh same time, every morning, stark naked having ate or drank nothing and after I've gone to the bathroom.

I do the same and have the scale on the same square on the floor. I wear nothing but a smile one good days or a grimace on not so good days

While it's frustrating, it's not all that strange. The scale goes up and down for all kinds of reasons. Check out this stickied thread about this topic!

It may be a combination of the Thursday weight being a real low and then today's weight being a real high. I second the idea of retaining water due to the workouts and maybe a little from the pizza. I always weigh the most on Mondays (usually due to just eating more bad stuff over the weekend) and always weigh the least on Thursday or Friday mornings. A five pound difference is a lot but not unheard of. Hopefully your weight will come down over the next few days.

I had a 5 pound weight gain from Saturday morning to Sunday morning, 24 hours! I'm pretty sure it was sodium (Japanese for lunch and Chinese for dinner may not be such a great idea even it is all on plan). And maybe a bit of TOM, and digestive issues, and a new strength training routine.

I drank lots of water yesterday which should help most of those issues. The good news is I lost almost half of it this morning! I'm confident the rest will come off in the next few days.

But, boy, it was startling to see that number!

Hey Rachima--I'm really sorry--that's so frustrating! Not sure if your "weight gain" held at the gym--sometimes I think humidity affects bathroom scales. Crossing my fingers for you that was it!

Yeah, it "held" at the gym. 4 pounds. It's OK. I'm feeling more like it will even out by Thursday now. Thanks, guys!
