Yes! Another 4 Week Challenge( Support?...Always!)

Welcome all you newbies and oldies too :) The first 4wk challenge was great so I decided on a 2nd challenge and that also went magnificent! So this is my 3rd 4 Week Challenge. IF if wasnt for the support I dont think I would have gotten as far as I have. We all know the closer we get to our goal ,the harder it is to lose those pounds! I love setting small goals for a month at a time.It seems easier ,I feel like I can reach those smaller goals ! So if you are interested all you need to do is send me a private message letting me know how many pounds you want to lose by July 20th. My personal goal is to lose 7.5 lbs in 4 weeks.
There is no need to let me know what you weigh. We weigh in on saturdays. Send me a message and let me know if you lost anything, maintained or gained. Since Saturday is two days away
dont worry about trying to lose pounds by then! lol

Yay!
The last challenge was so great for me, I'm excited to start a new one. Since we've got a couple of days before Saturday AND I've just turned up my walking goal to 2 miles a day AND I almost could've counted another pound lost this morning except it's not a digital scale and it's hard to tell, I'm going to set a goal of 9 pounds. I could have lost that easily last challenge if I'd have stayed OP more.
Tomorrow's the summer solstice and my daughter and I will be getting up early to watch the sunrise. I went for a short walk on my morning break today. The weather is just perfect right now. Not a cloud in the sky, but it only got to about 76 degrees. I love it!
Good luck to all. I'll be posting more often this time. It really does help me to stay motivated and I feel like I'm part of something wonderful!

Pic of me today

I was bored as you can see lol. My" big day" is July my wedding anniversary and my goal was to be in a size 9 by then and that's happened ! I still want to lose at least 6 lbs by Jul 10.
The pic came out awful! I took it myself so you can't see my face, there is a shadow on my whole right side, darn :(
These were the types of dresses that I would pass by when I went to stores . I just thought I would never wear that style! Well here it goes! This was today,46 pounds gone forever!!!!

New hope

Hi! I posted a message on the last thread regarding my weigh-in and my apologies for my venting yesterday. Stress got the best of me I'm afraid. And I gained my 2 pounds back, so we're back to the starting line, but I'm optimistic about everything today! My FIL is doing better too.
My goal will be 7 pounds again. Oh what the heck, I'm sticking with you Gennel, make it 7.5! You look great in that dress!:smoking:

Kina 06-20-2002 09:58 PM

Hello to all. I just came back from a 3 mile workout. WHEW! Yay, I made it back and that is all that counts.

Hey Appleblossom don't you worry about apologies. I am sure everyone will agree that your opinion is what makes you you. We are individuals yet we are all so much alike. So it's no sweat, we are all fighting for the one secret in life...HOW THE HECK DO WE GET THESE EXTRA POUNDS OFF! hahahaha:lol: If only I had listened to mom:?:

Now I have a question:?: For any of you who wish to answer...when you are trying to lose weight which is better 1) to get more exercise into your routine, 2) to sweat more, or 3) to add more resisistence to your workout? Now I know all of them are good. Well actually I am not quite sure about the sweating more or the adding resistence. But I was just curious:?: . Let me know what you all think.

Thanks, bye;) Kinarina

newfiesara 06-20-2002 10:37 PM

So can I join this or what? ;)

I'd like to lose 8 lbs in 4 weeks. It starts when? :)

Apple Blossom 06-21-2002 03:02 AM

Hey Kina,
My husband (who has a background in athletics) says that to lose weight you must exercise more...burn more calories! Makes sense I suppose. My mantra is
EAT LESS EXERCISE MORE
EAT LESS EXERCISE MORE
EAT LESS EXERCISE MORE

Sweating more would only cause water loss...temporary weight loss.
I don't know about the resistence part, except it probably helps with muscle tone/building.
I need to go to bed. Good night!

FRIDAY~~

Mornin' to all the chicks in the challenge.
WELCOME~~~Newfiesara~~~Of course you can join. It has begun as of June 20th i guess you could say. We had our final day to weigh in results to Gennel on Thursday morning. So, come on with us and see how much fun these mini-challenges are. You'll meet alot of nice people and have fun losing weight.

~~~Appleblossom~~~Glad things are getting better w/your FIL health problems. Stress makes things much harder for a person, so chin up and get back on the wagon with us. I am so close to goal my wt. is really stubborn now. But i figure gotta aim high or nothing will happen, so i am going w/6# for this challenge. Might make 4 or 5# get lost, who knows? So i'm in again!! And yes, vent whenever you need, that is what helps the most on these forums. We are there for you!
~~~JEN~~~You sound so motivated and rarin' to go on this new challenge. Makes us all feel good. Glad you are getting the walking in and have your daughter to buddy up with in the exercise dept. That kind of day sounds great...sunny and not tooo hot. Yesterday here it got way up into the 80's and it was muggy + from all the rain...so i did not walk. I am up earlier than usual this morn. so i am going to try to do my weight training at least before work.

~~~KINA~~~Glad you are aboard again. You are getting up to 3 miles in now? TERRIFIC...YGG!! Keep that up and you will see results quick. I think Genn had explained how she works it out pretty well on one of these threads. I think she really watches the calories/points for the day closely and if she works out hard she can eat a bit more, if not, got to stick to the very low end of the daily total. She seems to have really got a good thing going there, and she sure is motivating me.
~~~GEN~~~Great dress!!! Has DH seen you in it yet? or are you making him wait till the anniv. in July? CONGRATS, GIRL! We are all in this together and motivating each other.

Closing now, and off to workout!

Welcome!

Hi!
Just back from Gym,my calves have been so sore for 3 days now! That"monster" Elliptical machine is kicking my butt ! Thank God tomorrow is my day off!!!

--------Newsfiesara, welcome! The challenge just started yesterday so you have plenty of time to join! I will put you down for 8 lb goal. Weigh in on saturday tomorrow. I know there is only 24 hrs till weigh in so this weigh in doesnt really count lol .---
-------Thinlizzie you are an inspiration to me! You are close to your goal and I know you are working so hard for that Goal day! I hope you are still here when I'm within 10 pounds of my goal! I have 18 to go and counting ...Hubby has seen me in the dress :)
I will be going for a slight makeover that day! Haircut,dye,pedicure,manicure...so he wont see the new me until "our date" that night !-------
-------Appleblossom, I can totally understand your venting! Every single person in this battle with weight goes through ups and downs. Venting is the best thing for me.Iwill put you down for 7.5!
I agree with (exercise more) I dont eat less now. I do exercise more because I weigh less though. That has kept a steady weightloss...---------------
--------------Kina , I know alot of people say " you have to sweat while working out to lose weight" Or they say if you dont sweat then you are not getting a real workout. My personal opinion is that is BULL!!! I never sweated in the first weeks I just didnt sweat at all! I felt hot but no sweat lol . I think some of those Gyms who have no A/C use that excuse too lol. My Gym has A/C and huge fans all over. Dont get me wrong I sweat alot now! But all this sweating is recent and I've already lost 46 lbs. What's worked for me is more exercise and I still eat the same. Some days I eat low calories and low fat, then the next day I'll eat high calories... This has helped me not cheat on my diet. I know I'll suffer for one day but I will have something "really good" tomorrow !

ladyslipper 06-21-2002 09:50 AM

Good morning everybody:wave:

Wow it's great to see you all getting in exercise. Since being home for the summer months(work for school district) I have switched my workout routine to the afternoon or sometimes the evenings.Speaking of exercise, I am not much of a "sweater" either. Aerobic activity burns the most fat but resistance training will too. When you build muscle you speed up your metabolism. Personally I train with free weights using higher weights doing low reps. I want to build muscle right now. I do a half hour of aerobic activity and a half hour of weights most days.
I am really excited about this challenge. I like the idea of a 4 week time frame. I don't feel so overwhelmed! ;) I'm hoping to reach my goal in October. 19 pounds by then is reasonable. (I lost my first 31 pounds on my own and now I'm doing WW.) Good luck to all of us and hope you have a great day!

Hi ALL

Good luck to everyone in the challenge. I am really looking forward t starting a new 4 weeks. I am going to set my goal at 8 lbs again. I have had guest at my house for almost 2 weeks, they will leave Sunday. I can't wait to get back to a normal life again.

Gennel. I love the dress hope to be able to wear one of those some day myself. Congrats on your loses you have done a great job. Thanks so much for having these challenges they help so much.

Good luck again to everyone.

jacksonmom 06-21-2002 02:11 PM

Hi! Glad to see so many people participating again!
Gennel - glad to hear you sister is doing well. I know with you exercising has been a BIG key in you losing the weight. Are you eating low fat one day and higher the next. Is that right? I feel like I'm stagnet with my eating and wanted to hear what yours and everone elses is. Got to go walk. TTYL

Gennel 06-21-2002 07:43 PM

Jacksonmom...

Yup,
Yesterday was my high calorie day and higher fat. I had 27 fatgrams for the day. And calories range from 1,400 to 1,600. Today was my low day and I had 18fatgrams and 1,120 calories.
On my high cal days I stay on the Elliptical machine for about 40-45 min at a constant running speed...so I'm dripping in sweat by then, I do the stationary bike for 30 min, and the treadmill for 30 minutes before I do any other machine. On my low cal days I do
30 min on treadmill,15 min bike and 25 min on Elliptical machine.
I worked out 6 days a week when it was only walking but now since going to a Gym I go 5 days a week . It gets so full on the weekends!

Apple Blossom 06-22-2002 12:54 AM

Hurray! I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm back to 152! I had a feeling that my steps backward were only temporary. I only needed to get back on track. Today was a good day too! My FIL is home from the hospital and he's doing great. And My MIL got to catch up on some sleep.
Gennel, you are setting such a great example for us all. It's hard work keeping such close track of calories and all that. And exercise! I don't know how you find the time. I think you will find that your work at the gym will pay off big time. You're kicking it up a notch and that will help in the home stretch.
I think I am still eating too much. And if I could only quit the daily beer......
See ya tomorrow!

Yoyo Mom 06-22-2002 06:21 AM

Me too!

Hi! I'd like to join. I need a kick to get started making progress. My 4 week goal is 5 pounds. That may not sound like a lot, but if I had lost those 5 pounds *last* month, I'd be a lot happier today!

jen519 06-22-2002 11:49 AM

Welcome YoYo Mom!

I started in the last 4-week challenge and it was just what I needed to get me started. I don't think there's anything wrong with a 5 pound goal, either. It's like you said, if I'd have allowed myself to accept even a 1 pound a month loss years and years ago when I first started "dieting" I'd have been at goal a long time ago. And staying there. All that I've read says if you lose it more slowly, it's easier to keep it off.

Looks like a wonderful day ahead for me. I didn't do my walk last night. I decided, instead, to begin digging weeds and grass out of my flowerbed if you could call it that this year. I've neglected it for almost a year and everything unwelcome is firmly established. I'm going to mow my entire lawn today and then go back and work some more on the flowerbeds. I love summer!

How's Everybody doing?!

Good afternoon folks!
Well today is my day off from Gym...yipppeee!
But not my day off from housework! ugh!
Appleblossom , thanks for the compliments! I think we all need to hear that we are doing good once in a while. I sometimes forget how far I've come! I agree with you about quitting that daily beer! It does not benefit you in anyway girl! If you just cant live without it try just having a light beer on friday nights or saturday.
Today I weighed in and I've maintained since Thursday 148 lbs. I'm pushing for 2 lbs by next saturday!
Yoyo Mom check the first post and you will see that I entered you for your goal of 5 lbs :) I think 5 is an excellent goal.
A loss is a loss. Everyone has an idea of what their average monthly weightloss could be. I WONT go by any nutrionist's idea of what I should lose weekly. There have been weeks where I lost 1 lb in a week and other weeks that I was shocked to see that I lost 4 lbs! The norm is 1-2 lbs a week. And even though I want to lose it fast I know its not the best thing for me,losing it slowly helps me tremendously keep it off permanently.
Today I will just post a Weigh In "post" no one has to weigh in cause I know its only been 2 days lol. I will ask everyone to PLEASE weigh in next Saturday the 29th and let me know if you lost, gained or maintained.
Well gotta go and make lunch and clean ,clean, clean!

The Elliptical

Hi Gennell,

You made me laugh soooooooooooooooooooo hard. My husbands aunt gave me one about a month ago. I weighed at that point 142.5 know I am 138 or 138.5 the first morning I did it I did it for 25 minutes the next day I could not get out of bed. My three year old was saying " Mommy get up" I could not stand. My husband was laughing at me and then he tried it the next week for only ten minutes and he could not believe the pain he was in.

Yes, that machine kicks butt. So very happy to hear someone else felt the same way

Good luck this week

Bethee

Hi girls,

Count me in for 6 lbs in this challenge..... I've lost 6 lbs in the last one....my goal was 8, which for me is aiming high, I don't loose very fast...So if the first official weigh-in is next saturday, does the 4 weeks start on that day?

I weigh 156 right now.....

Good luck everyone....later ...

Lana...

Apple Blossom 06-23-2002 01:59 AM

I'm glad we don't have to weigh in today...it may have been discouraging....I made a bad food decision today....it didn't even taste especially good. I hate when I blow the diet and it's not even enjoyable. Oh well. I doubt if I went over 2000 cals and I did walk 3 miles.:p So no loss...(Pun intended HA HA HA HA HA) Hope everyone's having a fun week-end.

Yoyo Mom 06-23-2002 07:08 AM

I have to give myself a pat on the back for being OP yesterday. It was our town's festival day and DH and I took our 5yo daughter and stayed for hours. *Before* we went I ate a soup/salad/rice cake lunch and avoided the BBQ and bakery tables for the first time! But I know I need to make exercise more a part of my life too. Luckily, we just got a puppy, so walks are more routine now.

ladyslipper 06-23-2002 11:33 AM

Hi everyone! Just popping in to say hi. Today has started out pretty good. Doing well staying OP and I mowed the whole yard alittle bit ago. That should count for some exercise. I think I'll lift some weights too. I did go shopping yesterday and got some shirts and one pair of shorts for our upcoming vacation. TOM is right around the corner so I was pleased with the sizes I was able to get into comfortably despite a bloated tummy! I know they will fit even better next week.
Yoyomom - great good on staying OP. It's hard to do good when attending events like that!

Apple Blossom- that 3 mile walk sounds awesome. Walking is my favorite aerobic exercise.

Hope you all have a great day and good luck staying OP through the week! We can do this.:)

YGGirls!

Well yesterday was my d ay off from the Gym and today I was just planning to stay home with all this rain. But I woke up at 7 AM on the dot! Got up, then hubby got up. So I fixed him breakfast and I made my shake and ..headed for the Gym! Today I was so energized and I beat that " Elliptical Monster!" did it for 1 full hour! and 30 min on treadmill. Hope tomorrow I can wake up lol. I dont feel any soreness so let's see what happens!
--------- Appleblossom? 3 miles! Awesome! Dont beat yourself up over eating something you wanted. I cant tell you how many times I had a craving for something like fries, donut,cereal... Then I eat it and it didnt taste all that! lol It happens.
---------ladyslipper , mowing the lawn can be some serious work girl! And you are comfortably in a smaller size! What else can I say!
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of this Sunday!

I am really going to have to look into that machine, Gennel. How long did it take for you to start seeing results after using that machine? I am going to make call tomorrow to find if I can get a visitors pass and see if they have that machine. I can't join a gym while I am on this weight challenge with my family. It was one of the rules. But technically I wouldn't be joining...right? :s:
At the same time I attend a local college and they have a gym that is open to students at no charge. I might make a call and find out if they have one and what are their hours of availability.

I have to say today looks like it will be a lazy day. It is so hot out here in Texas. It's in the mid 90's here. Boy o boy.

Well take it easy and stay cool.

A Good Day

Hi All

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Well I had a good day. I got a ride to Church this morning and decided I would walk home afterwards. I looked at my watch when I left, but I can't remember what time I started so I don't know how long I walked. I do know it was 14 blocks. Yeah for me:D I have 2 nice blister to show for it since I had sandles on. This afternoon I had a baby shower to go to and I wasn't even tempted by the cake...another yeah for me....lol My 3 house guest also left this morning. It was a good visit but 2 weeks is tooo long. Well enough of my rambling. Good luck to all on this challenge

Gennel 06-23-2002 09:44 PM

Kina! Some rules!

Kina, why would joing a Gym be a " No No " ? It's not like lyposuction ! lol . You really have to work out at a Gym.
I think any Gym should have the Elliptical Machines. I went to Bally's Total Fitness and they had them, I really liked those with arm movement as well. I am in LA Fitness now and they have them there but the bars you grab onto are so far in front of you you feel like you're running fast downhill that your toes hurt from pushing against your sneakers! So I do the same machine but it doesnt have the arm bars. I seen results the first week using this machine. I used it for 6 days. What I actually noticed was my waist, hip andthigh measurements go down by an inch on each! I wish my family had some contest like that for money! lol But I will be getting $500-$700 for reaching my goal weight.Hubby has been buying me clothes every week because every single pair of pants/shorts and tops no longer fits. I kept 3 shorts ,sizes ranging from 14-18. Just as a reminder. I put them on the other day and the waist landed on my hips.I really need to take a pic with those on!

Kina 06-23-2002 11:04 PM

Hi.

Oh, Gennel, the joining a gym was just one of the rules. Like another of the rules was not to join like Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers and like you said no lypo suction. Also no prescribed diet pills. I guess the rules were made so that for those that didn't have the ability to join a gym it would be fair. So see why I say if I get a visitor pass it would be technically acceptable because I wouldn't be a member in the same sense. Right? So I am going to see what I can do about being a visitor somewhere or at the college. I am going to call the college and see if they have that monster there. I doubt it though.

Wow! Your results were quick. I have this thing here at the house. It simulates something like skiing. But it seems a little tougher than the elliptical machine. Because the elliptical machine is sort of in the air but this machine is on the ground. I guess you call it a glider. It was real big back in its day. If I can't find the elliptical machine on a visitor pass then I will just have to use my glider.

Well I better go now. Flyboy needs a computer fix. bye.

jen519 06-23-2002 11:07 PM

Hi everyone!

I just got back from taking my grandma out for her 96th birthday. We ended up going to Red Robin since it's so close to the home where she lives. The original plan was that my dad was going to take her out and we were going to join, but my little brother who's quadriplegic and living with my parents had an emergency and they ended up at the hospital. (He's O.K. now). Anyway, my dad called and said dinner was off. I said, "No way. I'll take her out." Then I called my sister to see if she wanted to come too, but the phone was busy. Grandma's phone was busy too! I got hold of my sister first. I told her I was thinking of taking grandma out for dinner, since dad couldn't and she said she had just called grandma to tell her she and her husband would be picking her up around 5:00. We all had a great time. My grandma is a bit set in her ways and goes ballistic about all the care my little brother gets, since he was such a criminal when he was younger and she can't forgive. It would have been catastrophic (in her mind, anyway) for her birthday to be celebrated late because of him.

Let's see. Food choices? I don't feel terribly guilty. I chose one of the charbroiled chicken burgers. With all the fixins' though! Then my daughter and I split a "Mountain High Mud Pie". I've learned over the years that when I "deprive" myself of something I really want, I end up eating everything available until I finally get the thing that I really want. It's weird. Anyway, I don't feel as though I overate. You know, that feeling when you're stomach feels stretched and you're not quite comfortable. I can't say I NEEDED dessert, but it was O.K. I am going for a long walk this evening to help burn the extra calories.

Good job Manatees. It's hard to resist food offerings at celebrations. Have you ever noticed how our society tends to celebrate most occasions with emphasis heavy on the food?

I was thinking, Gennel, isn't the "BIG" look right in style these days. Maybe you should just take to wearing the larger size (not!)
Isn't it a great feeling to have clothes that are too big. I can't wait until I'm comfortable in the next size down.

Happy Sunday to everyone!

Hi there!
I'm so happy I stayed OP yesterday and today is shaping up to go well too. I told my hubby to wake me up at 6 am. with him so that I could walk/jog before he leaves for work. I think I am going to keep doing that because I get the exercise in before it gets too hot outside, and doing it so early; voila! it's over. Ya know what I mean? Plus getting up at this time again will benefit me when I go back to work in Sept. I also did Denise Austins 7:30 show on lifetime. I really missed doing that. Sooo, no more sleeping in for me!
Since being home for the summer these past couple weeks I've been goofing off on my weight loss even though I did lose a couple pounds. I'm used to a two pound loss on a constant basis. When I was working and the kids were in school I had a great routine down for everything. I'm still juggling some stuff around to try and make my day run smooth without wanting to run to the frig. Gotta keep busy, busy, busy.
Jen~ I'm glad you had a fun time with your grandmom. I know exactly what you mean about not eating that one thing you want. I've been in the same boat. I'd rather eat some of it and get it out of my system for a couple months.
Gen~ Please keep sending pics. What an inspiration! You look great.
Hope you all have a fantastic day.:D

Getting started

This challenge is great! It really helped me stay OP this weekend. I was really having trouble getting started but I seem to be underway now. Thanks for reposting this thread!

Boy this thread has been busy! Glad everyone is doing great. I've done o.k. with my eating but good with my exercise.
Gennel--I'm going to try the higher calorie with more exercise one day and the lower calorie less exercise the other. I'll let you know how it goes. Today will be my lower day. The microwave went out and we won't be able to get one till the weekend so it'll be interesting to see what I eat probably mostly slimfast/fruit shakes for lunch. This could be a good thing. It's amazing how much we depend on the microwave when in the 70's they weren't even around. TTYL

Here's Lookin' at you Kid

I figured out how to put my big smiling face along with my posts. How cool is that! Now whenever I post you will see the mini me smiling at YOU.

On a more not so happy news. I got up this morning really feeling sore from my exercising. I got onto my scale and it said I have gained 2 pounds! What to do! I am freaking right and left. I am so fumed right now:mad: ! I am trying to see it in the way of muscle weighs more than fat. I am hoping that those extra 2 pounds have come into my life as muscle. I started eating Kashi for breakfast. I figured it would help. So far so good. Well Gennel I have to say my first week up in lights does not look good.

But i have to tell you I was up late last night browsing through the stores for the Elliptical machines. The most affordable I found was 188.88 plus s/h at Walmart.com then I found another 199.98 no s/h at kmart.com. I've already told my hubby that is what I want. But there are so many styles I don't know which one is the best type? O well it is something to think about.

Hey Everybody!!!

Hi Everyone!!!! I'm a few days late on starting the challenge, but I"m here again! Thank goodness June is almost done!!! Between weddings, recitals and the play this coming weekend, I haven't had a chance to sit down!!! Since I haven't gotten anywhere in the previous challenges  I'm going to take this one totally differently! I'm going to say I'm going to lose only 2 lbs. So far, when challenging myself to more, it hasn't worked. I'm going to focus more on the behavior this time instead of the #. Does that make sense??? Anyway.... My own challenge with myself is that by the time the new catalog is out, July 20th (I do Stampin' Up), I will have walked/run/ellipticalled 100 miles.
Looking forward to all the great suport here!!!!!
And... Gennel.... I love that dress!!!

Hi All

hi everyone

I hope everyones day is going well. I'm having a pretty good day. I started drinking water again...that helps soooooo much. I had a bagel for breakfast. Ok lunch wasn't that great I had a corndog, but only one and that was it. I'm not sure what we will have for dinner yet. Good luck to everyone and have a great week.

Emaleyth....What a great goal to have set!! So what is your reward when you reach your 100 mile goal????? I would go nuts buying stamps. I always seem to want them all.

Gennel 06-24-2002 04:16 PM

Hey Ema and Kina :)

Kina , its great to see the real person we've been chatting with! I need to resize a pic of me to be able to do the same thing! About the elliptical machines, I dont know what to suggest since I've only tried the Life Fitness ones. I searched for those online and the model I use at the Gym costs $3,500 !!!!!! I almost fainted lol. I would see if your walmart or Kmart have any models on their floor where you can try them out. When was the last time you weighed yourself? So many things can screw up a weigh in,if you had anything to drink,if you havent had a bowel movement,TOM is due....
----------Ema...thanks about my dress. Hubby is now telling my mom who is a seamstress to" Make the dress have two splits , one on each thigh!" so now my mom is cutting the sides to my new dress and making it more nekkid lol . Iwill put you down for 2 lb goal for this challenge.----------

"IF YOU WANT YOUR DREAMS TO COME TRUE,WAKE UP! "

jen519 06-24-2002 04:21 PM

Hi.
I'm posting instead of walking on my lunchbreak. I WILL walk on my afternoon break.
Kina, the exact same thing happened to me last week. I gained 2 pounds one day. I was really annoyed too. It was gone the next day. I try to stay off the scale, but I can't seem to help myself. Someone suggested to me than if I have to weigh often, to only believe what the scale says on one day of the week. It makes sense in theory, but hey, what if that one day ends up being a gain for no reason!
Anyway, the trick for me is not letting the scale dictate how my day will go. If I gain weight, I say to myself, what's the use and if I lose, I say, oh I can eat a bit more. Talk about self-sabotage!
I'm doing really well so far today. It's so great having everyone here! The support really helps.

Promise not to laugh??? When I hit the 100 mile goal, I get to order the most expensive of the new stamp sets that I want :D That will definately keep me motivated!!!!!! I'm DYING for the new catalog and am having soooo much fun with the 3 preview sets I have, so I think I'll be able to do it!
Now if only I could find motivation to start packing to move!!!!!!

Hi Emaleyth

I'm not laughing I think its a great reward. Anything thing that keeps you motivated is a good thing. Maybe you should start thinking of moving as a great exercise program. All that lifting and packing or then again you could tell yourself once you are all packed you get to buy another stamp set:D Well good luck on your 100 miles and you packing. When are you moving? and are you moving far from where you are now? I always liked moving, not the actual move just the getting a new place to live. We have lived at this place for 2 1/2 years and I'm already wanting to move. It's not going to happen I like the area it's only 2 blocks from school and there is a park across the street. Well goos luck to you again.
