Oh, and the baked apples do sound really good (made with skim milk, of course) but I'm not sure how "Rib sticking" they will be. Steel cut oats with 1/4 cup of dried fruit or scrambled eggs wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla or a cup of fat free yogurt with a sprinkle of whole grain granola or 2 pieces of whole grain toast with peanut butter (2 tbs) might keep you full longer!

For me, a plain fruit for breakfast would make me pretty hungry an hour later.

When I first started eating sensibly, yes I was hungry, especially because I pretty much had to cut my meals in HALF because that's just how much I was eating. But my stomach has shrunk so much that I can't even finish what's on my plate now, and it's usually a good portion. The stomach is a funny thing, if you give it time to shrink, it will!

Skim milk is pretty good too. I remember thinking I could NEVER drink that stuff. And then I got used to it (rather quickly too) and anything BUT skim milk tastes horrible to me. Your tastes will change. I am certain of it. Give it some time.

Another good, low cal milk substitute is Almond Milk. I think it's got about 40 calories for 8 ozs. Though it doesn't have the same nutritional values as the skim milk.

Check out those websites I mentioned for some healthy recipes. Your mouth will be watering!!!
I was thinking the vanilla soy for the smoothie!!

Ace, you're doing great!!! I'm EXCITED for you. You're about to make a huge change which is going to absolutely TRANSFORM your life.

Soy milk sounds find for your smoothie. I like to make a smoothie from fresh fruit, fat free/sugar free yogurt and some skim milk. Yumm. And easy.

For that baked apple, I'm not exactly sure what home made oat clusters are.

Also, try to think protein and fiber at every meal/snack. Protein and fiber. Protein and fiber. And avoid sugar as much as possible. This will keep you full and satisfied. Keeps those cravings at bay. Keeps your tummy full. Which is what we're aiming for.

Sounds okay. How about a nice bowl of oatmeal, with cinnamon and chopped apple and a 3 egg white omlette? VERY FILLING. VERY. And delicious.

BTW, don't think I'm ignoring you. I'm headed out in a half hour or so. Going away for the weekend, so I won't be able to respond to your ???. I'm leaving you in very capable hands here at 3FC. You young lady stick with this. Keep on asking questions and get more and more into this. Get more and more pumped as you learn what foods are best for you.

The biggest thing that is going to help you lose weight is STICKING with your plan. If we don't stick with it, then we can't lose the weight. So, I'd really like you to find and eat foods that you LOVE. This way it won't seem like a hardship to stay on plan. But I promise you, I am certain of this, that once you elminate all the junk and start ADDing in good, wholesome foods, your tastes will most definitely change.

So please, I urge you to give different foods a try. Try changing your cooking methods and what you add to them to make them more agreeable to your tastes.

And yes, it's IS a lot of food. You need to eat in order to lose weight. Ha. What a concept. But really, it's the truth. Good, wholesome, nutritious, filling, low calorie foods. We want to keep you full and satisfied, avoiding hunger and avoiding binges.

You want your food to work for you. Get the most out of every precious calorie that you down. This is definitely a process. Your food choices will evolve.

Have a great ON-PLAN weekend. Set yourself up for success. PLAN out those weekends even more so. They ARE tougher. Get thy house fully stocked with healthy, healthy foods. And remember you most definitely CAN do this. Losing weight IS a doable thing. Stick with it. You won't regret it for a teeny, tiny second.
