Good idea. I would also recommend writing it down. I have a little chart and every Monday I write down my weight. That way I can compare and see what I'm losing on average.

Good luck!

Yeah, I'll do that too.
Do you write down measurements too?

Alot of things said here are very true. It's not good to weigh yourself every day haha. I limit myself to weighing myself ever 2 weeks to see progress and I'm happy even if I only lose 2 lbs. Also mentioned it is true that someone with more weight to lose (Like 250+LBS) is going to lose more then a person who weighs 150LBS. It will come off in time with healthy eating and excercise. Don't give up, we are all here for you! <3

I have to admit, I'm a scale junkie. A pure addict. But I swear it loves to lie to me, just for kicks. It'll tell me I'm losing, and then BAM! out of nowhere the sucker adds on a few pounds. And I have to battle to get them back off. I can hear it snickering as I sulk out of the bathroom. I agree, weighing every day leads to too many frustrations, I just can't take my own advice.

According to your ticker, you lost 5 pounds your first week. If you were to go to Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig, or some other weekly weigh-in program, your leader/coach would be giving you gold stars and congratulating you with high fives and free goodies for such a loss. It doesn't matter what day the weight shows the loss, it matters that you keep on trucking.

My advice? Ditch the scale. Take it to work, school, parents...where ever it is you go and give it to someone to hold.

If you do a little research and read through some blogs of bulimics/anorexics/eating disorder, the friggin addiction to the scale is the one of the most talked about topics. A Bulimic does not go into their eating disorder by just deciding to purge. They weigh after each meal. They purge and weigh, exercise and weigh...they weigh, weigh, weigh. Put on clothes & weigh, take off clothes and weigh...It all starts so innocent....without warning. It sucks....
