Happy Boxing Day everyone. I'm having my own Canadian Boxing day although I've not boxed anything up yet. Oh well. Its just my own day to do what I want. I did take a load of laundry over to my MIL's to wash (we are not using ours until after they put in the new sewer line) and piddled around over there for awhile. Heck, I could of gotten all my groceries over there if I wanted to and not have to go to the real grocery store where you have to pay. I think I'm going to talk dh into ordering pizza tonight rather than have to run back out to the store.

I hope you all had a nice Xmas. Mine was nice but I'm glad its overwith. Later on I'm going to fix a big plate of Xmas treats to take into work. I've got to get rid of some of it otherwise I'll end up being the one to eat most of it.

Santa was good to me. I got a digital camera, a much better one than the one I had bought last year and clothes and a parafin spa which I LOVE. That hot wax feels so nice on cold hands. I've not dipped my feet yet but I plan to.

Lucy, errr Sally, hmmm, you sure sound like me. I try to be careful when I do something like that but I always manage a scratch or two. And your dh sounds like mine. I'm glad it all turned out good for you tho.

Tobey, I was hoping for snow and it was sure cold enough for it to snow but it didn't. We just got a few flurries. Dang. I sure never thought I'd see the day I was wishing for snow. Age sure does change things alot in the way you think. Thanks for starting the new thread.

Skeeter, I'm definetly tired of the treats. I brought a little bit of ham home from my mil's just because we don't have much else right now and I don't think I can put another cookie in my mouth right now. Maybe later, but not right this moment. I honestly think I'll gag.

Jen & Marlana, I hope you had a nice Xmas and are having a nice day today.

Well, I've got to get off here and pick up around the house. Take care everyone.

Hey everyone.

I hope that everyone had a great Christmas and a great Boxing day too. We left for town before 7 this morning and didn't get home until 5. I woke up yesterday with my throat feeling like it was on fire and it stayed that way all day and all last night. My throat feels better today but my sinuses feel horrible and my nose burns. I am blowing my nose but can still fill that drainage from my sinuses that causes coughing. I was trying to doze on the way home from town and my husband is insisting on my calling the doctor tomorrow. If no improvement by morning, I will. I don't get the flu but usually end up with sinusitis real bad and it moves to my chest. That is what I am feeling now and I just want to curl up in bed and sleep. I am not going to try to write to everyone now, forgive me but I really need to go to bed. I'll try to get back sometime tomorrow. Have a good evening. Oh yeah, we are supposed to get a hard freeze tonight. Brrrrrr

Good Morning~~I'm back!!! I sure hope all of you had a good Christmas, mine was ok. But I want to tell you I had a day from **** yesterday. You most likely don't want to hear this, but I'm going to tell you anyway. First of all I didn't turn my computer on until last night, that's the longest it has stayed off for almost 3 years. Kassie and I got off on our shopping trip before daylight. To make this story real I'll tell you that I live 17 miles west from Tahlequah Ok....15 miles east of Wagoner and 25 miles north of Muskogee Ok. We went to Tahlequah first to walmart. Bought some good bargains there as well as grocerys. As I was leaving the store I went to the ATM machine to get cash, someone come along and was talking to me as my card was coming out and I didn't quite get it in time and the machine sucked it back in. Wooooo that wasn't in the plans. We went on to back home (bank wasn't open) and unloaded grocerys and then headed to muskogee to the fish store. Yes I got 4 more fish.
I needed some stuff to fix the ph in the water and a tank vac, but the walmart in Muskogee is so busy decided to go to Wagoner and get it as well as my meds.
That store didn't have the fish stuff, it's the worse walmart in the country. Went back home called the bank and I couldn't get my card until after 2:30 when they opened the machine. So since I wasn't able to get the fish stuff at Wagoner decided to go on and get it and the card. So back to Tahlequah I went with 3 little girls now, I had picked up Jillie and Lindsey in Wagoner. Stay with me now!!!! We're not through. Got half way to Tahlequah and remembered I had taken everything out of my purse looking for something and didn't put it back. I was a bit screwed up by now.:spinning: Turned around went back home and got the check book. Headed back to Tahlequah. Got the fish stuff and card and headed home. Was about time to cook super, but started cleaning my fish tank out, because I found out I had been feeding the little darlings way too much and most of it was in the marbles at the bottom of the tank. I also was changing out the marbles and putting small gravel in so the food can't fall down between and lil catfish can't get it. I had started cooking and was just about through with the tank, when for no reason the pump and filter stopped running. I could not figure out what happened to that. Got on the phone to see if the walmart in Wagoner had the same one that I had. The woman said she would look come back and said they had all three sizes, so I told her I would be right in and get one. Finished super, left the kids with hubby and headed to Wagoner, it was the closest to home. Got to the store went to the pet section and would you believe they only had one size and it was for a tank not bigger than 10 gal. I had a few choice words for the ladies at the service desk as I rushed out of the store and headed in the other direction with 32 miles to go to get there. Went to Tahlequah got the filter and back home to get it going for the poor little fish gapping for air. Some how after all the treatment I done to the water and air being off for some time these little fish was still swiming around this morning. So you see girls, you took a back set to fish yesterday. Today has got to be better. Although my daughter is comeing to spend the night from Okla City. I had my house clean yesterday morning because I had stayed up until midnight and cleaned and washed cloths so I would be all caught up when the girls got here. Guess what dirty dishes everywhere, crap all over the living room. Fish tank stuff to clean up. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Is there any hope?????? I'm not going to try to address everyone, in fact I haven't even read them. Sorry...please forgive me. I'll get back to normal soon. I'm going to read everything now. I've also got email running out my ears. Have a good day everyone, see you tomorrow.

Happy New Year to you all, I know some of you don't know me, but the regs from year past i hope remember me. I was a regular for awhile and then things happen.

Well this started out as a good 2001 for us, until November. I got pregnant in June and all was well, until Oct. 30th when the dr.'s found out my baby had severe brain damage. I lost my child on Nov. 11th and have been healing since. I weigh in once a week and have not gained any so far, which is good.

I've been seeing a grief counselor and my ob/gyn has been great too. We will hopefully be able to start trying soon, b/c i'm not getting any younger.

Today I found out my great grandmother died, she was 107, so its no surprise that she did. She had all her faculties and was a great inspiration to us all. I only wish she could have seen a great grandchild of mine. I thought today, though that she is now in heaven with my child and does actually get to see her, so that is a blessing.

So it's been a rough year for us, I just hope that 2002 is a better one for us and that we are blessed with a baby. I started my Leslie Sansone walking tapes this week and i really like them. I think i can keep them up and enjoy doing them at home. I know Marlana and Joyce remember the whole trying and fertility issues, so I wanted to check in and say hello.

God bless to all, plus health and happiness.

Lori

Hello Everyone.

Hope you are having a good day. It was back to work for me and it felt like a Monday. Oh well, I work tomorrow and then I'm off for two more days so I guess I can handle that. I just talked to dh and he is going to stop and get some takeout chinese food for us for supper tonight. Not a good choice but I'm not on a fp yet. I have picked the day to start tho. It will be 1/2. I'd start on 1/1 but that is the day my mil has ham & beans and cornbread for everyone and I know I won't do well that day. So between now and then I'll be working on deciding what food plan I want to follow.

Marlana, sounds like you had a heck of a day yesterday. I hate it when you forget something and have no choice but to go back and get it. More fish huh???? What kind did you get?

Skeeter, oh it sounds like you have what I had. You just keep those germs in FL cause I don't want them finding their way back to me. I've still got the sinus crap, just can't get rid of it. Plus theres tons of people where I work that are coughing and hacking their heads off. It will probably find its way around the building and back to me before long. Get plenty of rest and I'll tell you the thing that helped me the best, Sudafed, the store brand cheapies.

(((((((Lori))))))))), I feel so bad for you and I wish there was something I could do to help you feel better but I know it just takes time. I will keep you in my prayers that you will heal from this and that you will have a baby this coming year. I'm glad you got a counselor to help you with this. Just remember, you can come here anytime you need to "talk" and we will listen.

To Sally, Tobey, and Jen, Hello to you all.

Take care everyone.

Good evening gals. I finally got a chance to get a post in here. I see that I'm not the only one skipping out once in a while! I haven't been doing anything fantastic as far as the fp. Better, but not fantastic. After all the cookies I had been eating, I surely can't go cold turkey can I? My body would go into sugar shock!!! Work has been crazy as usual. Last weekend was horrible, couple patients crashed, and right before xmas. It sure is nice not to have to worry about school work. Hopefully after the 1st things will slow down. I feel like I'm in a tailspin. I just read this, and it doesn't really make any sense. I'm going to bed. Catch ya in the am when I'm more coherent.

Guess who!

I finally made it in here to post. I’m so bad when I am on vacation. I have come in to read, even started a new thread, but didn’t post. My holidays have been great. Christmas Eve we went to that potluck dinner which turned into a party that we didn’t leave until 2:00 AM! And even worse I indulged in tooooooooooooo much Christmas cheer. I woke up Christmas morning with a hangover. I felt very stupid. So dh and I got opened presents, talked to family, and went back to bed. Dh caught a nasty cold and still isn’t feeling right. We both felt better when we got up a noon. So we puttered around with our new toys (Santa spoiled us both!!) and left for dh aunt & uncle’s house around 4:00. We had a really nice dinner and visit. Boxing Day was a lot of fun. Believe it or not, we went to the zoo! On Boxing Day, they open up the zoo for free and they have a walking tour where they go around and give some of the animals Christmas treats. We saw tigers, monkeys, polar bears, wild horses, etc… It was cold but fun. I have also been good and have made all of my scheduled runs. Knowing that I have a race on the 30th really kept me inspired. My food has been okay. I decided that I would let myself go on the 24th and 25th and then get right back on track. Well I must have done okay – I weighed myself this morning and I was actually a pound lighter than before the holidays! Which means I have officially kept off ALL of my weight for over 1 year! To celebrate I am going to go and eat an entire cheesecake and down it with a bottle of champagne. JUST KIDDING!

Skeeter: Glad to hear that the little poochie loves his pouch. You have to promise to get a picture of him in it. Did you actually go shopping on the 26th? You couldn’t pay me to go into a store then. On our way home from the zoo, we drove past a mall. It was so busy that people had parked on the road ways leading into the mall. It was crazy. Some stores the wait time was 2 hours. It can’t be worth it. Oh I just read your last post. I hope you are feeling better.

Jojo: I love the idea of tacos for Christmas dinner. That sounds like so much fun!! Did your dusting of snow last for Christmas? [Never mind – I just read your post from the 26th which answered that question] We had a totally green Christmas this year. It snowed here a bit on Boxing Day but all it really did was make the roads very slick. We also had a ton of accidents on the highway. We left the zoo at the right time and missed most of the action. I think you are part Canadian now. You have embraced the spirit of Boxing Day. It is the day on which you can do what ever you want! No rushing around, no cleaning for guests, just time for shopping (if you are INSANE!) and playing with new toys. I got a lot of chocolate and goodies for Christmas so I am doing the same as you, I am going to put together a goodie tray and take to work. They love when I do that – the majority of my office are guys between the age of 20 – 25. Have you tried out your paraffin spa? Those always looked so amazing. I would love to do my feet in one.

Jen: That is too bad that everyone took off after eating and gifts! I am so used to hanging around with the family. We normally stay until we are just about to fall asleep. Working a 12 hour shift on Christmas night – tough. But then again you are one tough cookie. Although even tough cookies need their sleep (just read your post from 1:42AM!) Night night.

Sally: That’s too bad that you had to go back to work. I think everyone should have Boxing Day. Our office also shut down and gave everyone the 27th and 28th off. It’s nice because while I am off for 2 whole weeks, I only had to use 5 vacation days. What the girls think of their workstation? You had me laughing out loud with your story. That is so totally something that I would do! Has hubby forgiven you yet? How’s the treadmill going?

Marlana: Okay I just read your post from yesterday and I am EXHAUTED! That sounds like something out of a slapstick comedy. Although I bet you weren’t laughing. I think you could use some “me” time!

Lori: I do remember you from when I first joined. Oh girl, my heart goes out to you. I am happy to hear that you are getting the support that you need and are not giving up hope. You are a smart and strong woman. Don’t forget that we are always here any time you need us. Both sets of my BIL & SIL have also been going through fertility problems. It is so trying. I have nothing but best wishes for you and your family for 2002.

Well I better I go dh is starting to give me the evil eye – I said that I would be read to go about 45 minutes ago! Oppps - We are going to look at some lofts that they are building in our neighbourhood and then do a few running around chores.

I will try to get back in the habit of my daily posts – These long ones take to much out of me!

Luv ya all!

Good morning gals. Errr, or afternoon. Me and Tobey must be the only ones not sick. Must be all the running. Actually, I haven't done but 1 day of running this week. The temps dropped like a bomb and it's windy on top of it. I think the high today is supposed to be around 10. I have climbed on my stair stepper though. Better than nothing. Hopefully now that the holidays are over, I'll be able to get back into some sort of routine. I also went shopping when I got off of work on the 26th. It wasn't too busy until about 11 am or so. By then I was pretty tired so I went home and to bed. I did find a couple of good deals though.

Oh, Marlana, You are having such a hard week. (((((HUG)))))! Take care of yourself and get some rest.

Tobey- Sounds like you had fun on Boxing Day. I guess I just always assumed it had something to do the boxing, like the fights. I'm such a dork! Congrats on keeping your weight off for a year! I have to work another 12 hr night shift on New Years Eve. I must have been crazy when I agreed to all these night shifts. We are going to bring in munchies to celebrate at work. They say one of the perks of nursing is being able to celebrate the holidays with all of your coworkers!

I guess that's all for today. I'm gonna hafta climb on the stepper and then get ready to go out with dear bf this afternoon. Hope everyone starts to feel better this weekend.

Afternoon Ladies,
How's everyone doing this afternoon? I'm okay I suppose. Lots to do today, and I haven't even started! I need to clean up the house and go to the grocery store here in a minute, but wanted to check in. I guess I could take my nightgown off, too and get dressed. Very lazy day for us.
Lori, of course we remember you! I'm so sorry about your loss--I lost two babies before my two girls were born, and it was very difficult. I still think of them all the time....I'm glad you have two guardian angels now, though--I'm sure your great grandma and baby will watch over each other and you. Please check in with us, and let us know how you are! We you.
Mama, sorry you have been sick. Hope you're doing better today! And you will have a better week this week. We all need a fresh start with the new year, I think
Skeeter, hope you're feeling better too! Check in when you can.
JoJo, have a good weekend!
Tobey, glad you're enjoying that vacation! I'm off Jan 7, 8 and 11, but I have a lot of stuff to do those days....I have a doctor's appt, my oldest has a dr. appt, Jeff has medical tests at the hospital, and the youngest has to have a root canal. On a baby tooth, no less! She's had one cavity in her life, and all this trouble! So we will be busy with medical stuff while I'm off, but at least maybe it will all be done then. I'd like a few days off just for me, but I don't see that happening for a while. Maybe in the spring I'll take some "mental health" days. If I have any mental health left.
Jen, hope your weekend's going well, too!
MaryBeth, let us hear from you, and Carol, check in, check in!
My ex got his papers and isn't very cooperative....he wants full custody and all this other crap---of course he doesn't have a job or money for an attorney to do anything for him. He said he was going to raise money from his friends, relatives, and the local churches and take this all the way to the Supreme Court. My lawyer just laughed at him. Oh, he doesn't want to pay child support either---he just doesn't feel like he needs to. Oh well.
We all need a nice new start this week with the new year!
Love you all, and hope everyone's doing better today.

Hi Everyone

I hope your weekend is going ok, even you sickies. I just got back from the mall. Had a few things I needed to take back and bought some black stretchy jeans and a mock turtleneck and a watch. Now I thought I'd just relax a bit, have a cup of coffee and figure out something for supper.

Earlier I was going thru the check book to figure out why we were so loaded, especially at this time of year. Well, I figured in one of my paychecks twice. Well, it really looked good but I knew there was a mistake somewhere. I'm glad I didn't go hog wild and go out and spend a big chunk of what wasn't there. Oh well.

Marlana, sorry things ended up crappy with your daughters visit. And I hope you are feeling better soon.

Skeeter, I hope you are feeling better to.

Sally, I just can't imagine having a root canal on a baby tooth. When I was a kid, they never did much to baby teeth except fillings and cleaning them. I used to work with someone who had to pay out $6000 in dental work for her 3 year old. He had root canals and crowns put on and it just seems really excessive for teeth they are going to lose anyway.

Jen, I'm not sick, sick in the head but not sick sick. Its so cold lately that I almost hate to go outside at all. If it wasn't for my job, I think I'd hibernate in the winter. I told dh that someday I want to have one of those automatic car starters put on the car, that way the car will be nice and warm when I get in and I wouldn't have to do any scraping.

Tobey, your Xmas eve party sounds like it was a lot of fun. Oh no, a hangover. Haven't had one of those in I don't know how long. It probably wouldn't take much to get me loaded cause I'm usually a 2 beers a year gal. Although I do have a drink on New Years Eve, I'm thinking of getting some Asti Spumanti except for the fact that I'll be the only one drinking it. Well, we saw a few flakes but it was not a white Xmas for us. Oh well. They are calling for snow all next week but i don't know the extent of it. You know how quickly weather forcasts change. I'm just glad I'm not near Buffalo, NY where they have over 3 feet of snow. That would shut down Illinois.

Well, I'm going to get off here and figure out supper. Take care everyone.

Hey everyone.

I am feeling a little better today after staying in bed all day yesterday and sleeping off and on. My doctor called in some antibiotics and nasal spray for me on Thursday and it is finally starting to work. Last night I took 2 prescription Tylenol with codeine and slept the whole night. The pain isn't as bad in my sinuses today but I am starting to cough. This sure makes me appreciate two whole years of being very healthy.

Tobey~A free day at the zoo is something that I would love. As soon as I get back on my feet and start walking again, we will take a picture of my pooch in the pouch. Today was a beautiful day here but I didn't do much for fear of making my cold worse. I am going to take another of those little miracle pills tonight and hopefully feel even better tomorrow. My husband is starting to cough so it looks as if he is coming down with it too. We did okay at the stores in the morning. We made it to the mall by about 11 and it was starting to get really crowded. We ran into hubby daughter and talked with her until about 1 and decided to give it up and get out of there. It had gotten too crazy by then. We stopped at his other daughters house for a while and came home. Everyone that I have talked to this week has this same illness in their families.

JoJo~I used to take Sudafed but can't now because of my high blood pressure. I have good insurance though and my medicine was only $10 each which was worth it with the way I felt Thursday and Friday. I hope you feel better and your husband too. The worse thing about me being sick is my appetite increases. I eat all the time when I have a sinus infection. I'll be glad when the holidays are over and I am well and can get back OP and walking.

Marlana~I hope that you are feeling better. Did you call your doctor for some medicine? I guess all of Ocala is sick because my doctor and all her partners were swamped and I couldn't get in to see anyone. Thank goodness they called in a prescription for me.

Lori~I am so sorry for your loses. It is so comforting to know that your baby is with your grandmother though. I'll add you to my prayers for help in healing and maybe making another baby. Let's hope that 2002 brings you happiness and good health.

Jen~Those 12 hour shifts must be terrible. Isn't there any quiet time at all during the night? What happened to waking the patients up to give them sleeping pills, don't you do that anymore? Sorry, that's an old joke. At least you haven't picked up any bugs at work. Hope your shift on New Year's eve is calm and quiet.

Sally~It sure sounds like your ex is not playing with a full deck. He sounds a lot like the father of my granddaughter. He is the reason behind the word JERK. Chances are the judge will laugh at your husbands antics too but will still give him visitation. Most women wouldn't let him see the kids the way you have and that will be a plus for you with the judge.

Hope you ladies have a good weekend. Maybe I can make it back again tomorrow with the help of these miracle pills.
