Default Does Uncle TOM affect weight loss?

Some people say you do gain weight when you have your period. Is this actually true?I read in a mag that before your period you burn up to 250 more calories than a normal day. But after this does it cause you to gain weight or is it just water weight? Sorry guys got weigh in tomorrow been trying hard all week just wanna make sure...Thanks in advance..

It's very rare I don't gain doing TOM... usually about 2lb or so, or stay the same... but usually it goes that I have a good weight loss the week after.

I think your net calorie loss must be higher cause your body uses energy breaking down the uterine lining and replacing the blood you lose, However TOM cravings can throw things off but I think it isnt real weight gain, just water retention

I used to gain up to half a stone and a dress size in the days leading up to TOM - then within a couple of days after starting I'd drop back down to my pre-bloat weight. I used to feel generally unwell during TOM (slightly flu-like) and I was always off my food - so I used to have a fairly good weight loss in that week than at other times of the month. It helped to drink a lot of water.

Well mine is late sodding thing. I get the urge to eat everything in sight and I definitely gain weight and then it does tend to fall off. Never noticed it happening when I was bigger. I feel very fat today and as I've said earlier I've chomped bread, butter and lots more!!!

I'm not actually feeling any heavier, but i didnt gain anything just stayed the same.. I don't have any mad cravings as i usually do. I'm actually in control this is good...My tummy is looking a little bigger than normal but i'm quite reassured now that it's all gonna go back into shape staright after my days are up ...This one's a keeper watch this space for great weight loss next week...I also did my tae Bo for an hour today so i'm feeling pretty good.

i always gain or stay the same the week before then lose the week after. I think it is fluid retention, as others have said.

I track my weight every day so the pattern is very obvious.

Do you weigh yourself everyday?

Yes, morning and evening.

I know some people say you shouldn't, but if you can cope with the fact that weight does fluctuate and not panic when it's up half a pound from yesterday, I don't see the harm.

You can tell I've had this conversation before can't you?
