HI and Welcome!

Unfortunately I am not going there at the moment. However I used to until quite recently and I do remember all I am supposed to 'do', what is good and what is bad. You know that last lost of weight will be the hardest to lose but don't give up, you know it will be worth it!

Are you understaing the way the system works? It takes a while to sink in. I am veggie anyway so it is green all the way for me. If not, you can have either green or red days but must not mix them (unless that has changed now). My friend found that although she was a meat eater she was more satisfied on a green day - lentile etc. Although you can eat pasta and rice etc on a red day it has to be included in your syns - or may be a helathy extra I am not sure - check your book!

If you are a poor student anyway it may help to be 'green' most days with only a little meat and fish which would count as a healthy extra - with your beer/wine (I know what you students are like!) as syns. Depending on how much you have to lose I think it is between 10-15 syns a day you are allowed. Your agreed amount is up to the leader. She wil have given you are daily mount to use. Don't think to only use a few Syns - they are there to be used.

I'm an ex slimming worlder I only know the green plan being vegetarian (like Peacock). I lost 3 and a half stone on it in 2004 (it may have been 2003 ) but gave up and put it back on (and more) am now at weight watchers.

I did SW to lose my first 1.5 stone but then my weight loss stopped so have switched to weightwatchers. The advantage of SW is that there are plenty of free foods you can have if you are hungry. You can also try and eat losts of speed foods too. What i didn't like was when i weighed my healthy extras and saw how small they actually were!!!

Yeah definately sticking to Green days!!!Lots of home made chips and beans...i don't drink at all actually so thats not a problem for me...The trouble is eating out...i feel when i go out i can only go Red i know, this great place that serves grilled chicken however rice is out of the question cos i'm trying to be syn free (to speed up weight loss) and when eating out they always put oil in the rice... .so i have a salad instead.

Hi There!

I started Slimming World Online last week ... seemed a bit complicated to begin with, but as the week went by I sort of got into it. Lost 1.5lbs when I weighed-in on Friday, which wasn't a great start for a first week, but looking back at my food diary I know exactly where I can improve ... a little less in the wine department would help a lot!!

I had a friend in town over the weekend who I hadn't seen for a long time, so it was a bit of a heavy weekend, and now I'm struggling a bit to get back into the plan properly. I was ok yesterday, and I was doing ok today until I came home from work and noticed a bar of chocolate in the fridge ... which should have been for the topping on a dessert which a friend has asked me to make her for a dinner party on Friday! The cravings got the better of me unfortunately, and now I'm feeling really p****d o** with myself for being so weak!

Consequently, I could also do with as much support and encouragement as possible right now!

Ahh wine... that's where I have gone horribly wrong this week. Choc in fridge that's dangerous too

1.5lbs is good I know people who've put on in their first week.

One woman when I used to go to a SW group thought you didn't have to count homemade things. She gained.

Glad to hear your on the slimming world wagon so i'm not alone ..I havent had much of an apetite lately been mostly eating my beans and chips. I always find my friends seem make me cheat aswell when we're out and about mostly cos the're hardly anywhere that sells free food!!, but i'm ..i really don't want to go into the new year with all this weight on my mind . I want it to be New year, new me . We CAN do this. Don't worry about your little adventure this week just try and keep count of your syns thats 70 a week...try and find some health alternatives at the dinner party or tell your friends about your diet and see what they can make(this is my new trick i have the slimming world book in the kitchen so my house mates make me free food when cooking dinner or count my sins, if its over i take it off the next day, this way i'm never missing out)...If that doesn't work do your best and get straight back on the plan afterwards.

Slimming World chick - please do use at least some of your syns. Without it you won't lose weight any quicker and you may well be tempted to cheat. The plan works around these syns and they are an integral part of the plan. We all need our little treats and they do help you especially when you are eating out. Usually in our club when soemone put on - they were not eating enough 'free food' and not using up their syns.
