DH came home yesterday with sparkly antlers which light up to go on the dogs but they all rolled around on the floor scrabbling at them until they come off - and they didn't like the Father Christmas hats either (didn't fit Ellie anyway). So it looks like its going to be the pink (or red) and white floppy bow for Ellie and possibly a red and white kerchief on the boys.
TBH they don't like wearing things so I don't normally dress them up - its just so that our Boxing Day visitors don't find them threatening - especially Ellie because she's SO big.
I have a 1 1/2 year old English Setter, his name is Charlie. My DH takes him out Pheasant hunting whenever possible, as soon as Charlie see the shot gun he starts dancing and whinning. He can't get out the door fast enough. Besides all the reasons above for getting a dog, you can feel secure whether your DH is home or not. We have a beware of Dog sign in our window to ward off any weirdo's that might wander up to our door. We live in the country and when DH is gone, I love the security of my dog. Charlie would probably lick the intruders, he loves everyone. I'd talk your DH into it, that way when the puppy piddles on the floor he can't get all over you. Dogs hearing is remarkable, they hear and respond to every unusual noise in the house. Every once in awhile a bird will fly into our large picture windows and Charlie doesn't like it at all, he immediately goes to the window to see what the problem is. Oh, I forgot to mention that he is the most beautiful dog ever! TeeHee! I'm not cp smart enough to post his picture, maybe someone can tell me.

SarahAnn - I would not worry about Ellie looking threatening to anyone - if any of your guests get out of hand, or are being a pain - just say in a quiet voice - "Ellie doesn't like it when you .. get drunk/grope me/throw up all over my nice new 3 piece suite/insist on outstaying your welcome/etc etc"
Of course it only works if she can 'do' menacing, not if she licks everyone in site!
Good idea! Actually... the one most likely to get angry is George - he hates it when I get upset. Ellie is just a huge softie. If someone tries groping me on Boxing Day (apart from DH) then there will be a riot and it won't be the dogs that do menacing!!!!
We've set aside a room for them on Boxing Day so they've got somewhere to go and be quiet/sleep if they want to. This is better for us as well because we're used to clambering all over them when all three dogs are stretched out on the floor snoring but it could be dangerous if people trip over them while carrying hot food / cups of tea.
Where do I find manage attachment? Sorry, but I'm a 61 year old grama and not very cp smart. That's why I said, "Walk me throught it" in my post.I appreciate your quick response, Thank you.

This is "Charlie" our English Setter. We eat on trays in front of the T.V. often and this is what Charlie does while DH is eating. We finally decided to lock him out while eating and it's DH's fault. He feeds him bites of meat then complains to me about Charlies table manners. Geeeeeeeeeeezz, what does he expect?
