My sister has just brought the Nadia (he/she) from big brothers salsacise , i watched a bit of it and i have to say it looked pretty easy , nadia blatently shows how someone really un-corodinated can still sort of do it lol , put it this way the company pay for her to make a dvd and she still cant get the moves right too funny lol but my sister has also gettign the Tracey Shaw salsa one so ill let you know what thats like when she shows me.

I only have the Jade Goody dance workout which i will never do again she goes so fast u only catch half of it lol and ur shattered after the warm up.

I hope everyone is ok , Carole , Traq , Phat , Sarah Ann, homebloom

Carole, poor you, not a good weekend then :( Men are so inconsiderate sometimes, how difficult is it to pick up a phone if you are going to be late.

Hope you get it sorted out, and don't stop eating, that's def not good :)

I like the sound of those Salsa DVD's that sounds fun. Don't have a lot of time at home to do it though as tend to get in 7/7.30 and then I just want dinner! I'll have to stick to the gym at lunch time.

1/2 a pound :(. Not really surprised after the weekend though, hoping that that is some water retention and that I'll improve next week.

I'm a bit concerned though, that I'm not eating enough calories :dizzy:

treezuk 10-24-2006 08:16 AM

1/2lb is still going the right way hunni but i know what u mean about the calories , after being on 1200 cals since i started dieting 25th august up till last week after i finished the 2 weeks GI jeans part she said that my body had decided it was starving and stopped doing anything there for a i didnt put any on or lost anything , but now my cals are 1840 and i can eat pretty much anything healthy and still have cals left over and i sneaked a peak on the sclaes this morning and ive lost 2lb so its true what she said as soon as my intakes gone up to what it should be im losing again.

So keep your chin up girly , next week your lose more. :) and 1/2lb is still excellent.

That's great advice, treez... And when you think about it, so many diets recommend around about 1200 cals per day the whole way through, not just as a kickstart! So long as, after the first 2 weeks, you stick around your Basal Metabolic Rate, you'll be fine. When I started I weighed nearly 14 stone, and so could eat over 1600 cal a day - and lost weight on that! Just remember to adjust it down, for every 10lb - stone you lose, and you'll be fine! A nice steady slow weight loss is one your body can maintain, so don't be disheartened when you see other people on different plans with big weight losses. You're doing it the healthy way - and in a way you can maintain forever!

Just tell her that you've got a poorly tummy / maybe got a bit of a tummy bug - and don't think that eating fatty foods is such a good idea right now. Works for me, every time. If you tell people you're dieting then its almost like they feel its their mission in life to get you to break it - but if you tell them you aren't well and feel like you might :barf: they NEVER try and force food on you, especially if you are in their house :)

Aint that the truth! I gave up saying anything to my relatives. The worst thing was I had 40lb exactly to lose, and not a single one of them said a word to me about my weight loss til after I had lost over 30lb of it! But I knew from a failed diet the year before, that if I'd told them I was dieting they'd have thought it hilarious to do what they once did - bring an entire carrier bag of Thorntons round to our house, then laugh and eat it in front of me!

I've had the last laugh now, though - which you will, too! Sarah's idea's a good one - just say nothing and see how long it takes them to notice. I'd gone down virtually a full 5 dress sizes before any of my relatives noticed, though.

Just back from class.

I lost 1lb this week, which considering I did'nt eat much on Sat/Sun was a bit disappointing.

I think I'm not eating enough as well, which unbelieveable from the amount I was eating before I started the kick start.

I had my first glass of wine in 4 weeks last night, a belated celebration of Horrible Hubby's birthday. I decided life's too short not to talk to the old crow, but I've a plan to go without him next time he lets me down. This is what I should done on Saturday but It did'nt seem right to celebrate HIS birthday without HIM.

I'd go with the tummy bug idea as well Homebloom.

Never mind about the 1/2 lb Tranquility at least you had that lovely meal, and there is always next week.

Did my back in on Sat so I can't exercise this week either :( I'm in a right grump, but I will sit down with my food lists this week and work out how much I'm eating.

treezuk 10-25-2006 06:48 AM

Tranq : sorry to hear about your back hunni , i hope you feel better soon, i haven't been exercsing either cos of the cramp ( i thought it was from the scan i had) but its starting to go now so i am gonna try salsacise tonight and if im in pain ill stop :) i went to dr to get checked he said i could have a bladder infection so were see when the result comes back.

Homebloom : Thanks for the kind words hunni , good luck tonight too.

I hope everyone's doing okay. I hope you don't mind me posting here with you. I don't do RC but I do follow a strict low GI diet with exercise which (I think) is very similar to the RC GI Jeans diet, isn't it??

I've been low GI'ing for a year now and it has finally become second nature. Its the best way of eating I've ever been on because I only ever feel hungry if I've slipped up and had something high GI. Its also completely solved my blood sugar problems - I used to get a regular blood sugar dip in the afternoons which used to make me feel shakey and faint. I only get them now if I skip a meal completely now.

For those of you who aren't losing as much weight as quickly as you'd like my tip is to go in to a supermarket and go to the lard chiller and look at lard equivalent to the amount you lost this week - and maybe make a pyramid of the weight in lard that you've lost since you started - it kind of puts it in to perspective and you can see how well you're doing. :)
