OMG! Just checked my BMI and in less than 2 weeks it's gone from 37 to 34.9!!

That makes me possibly even happier than the weight loss (well, nearly) - so pleased to be getting healthier :) :) :)

BigBird77 10-19-2006 03:20 AM

Morning all,

Well I lost 5lbs on Tuesday taking me down to 11st11lbs and I have now gone into maintaince...yipppppeeeee.

How's everyone else doing?

CazF 10-22-2006 04:15 PM

Doing ok over here, hit the stone mark at my 2 week weigh-in so was pretty pleased with that. Another lb gone today, next weigh in is a day early, Wed this week instead of Thurs.... so we'll see!

Well done on going into maintainance!! You'll have to tell us how it all works :D

Bexstar 10-24-2006 11:35 AM

Hello Ladies

Sorry I went quite for a while I was off work spending most of the week painting and doing DIY in the house....don't think it qualifies as a holiday though!

So Caz you are doing amazingly - WELL DONE - such a fantastic start! :carrot:

BigBird - :dancer: since joiniing this discussion board you have been my inspiration and motivation and I am so pleased that you have got to goal and going on maintenance - SUPERB! :woo:

Well I have lost a total of 40lbs and have weigh-in tonight so fingers crossed for a 2lb loss so that I can claim a full 3 stone loss!! I have to say in the last 10 days I am felling so much better about myself and body, I have a spring back in my step :smug:

I have spoken with my counsellor and decided to extend my program until the 30th of November and that way I will be at a nice weight (if I keep losing at the rate I have averaged at over the last few days) and by hitting that weight I will finally be at weight I haven't been for 10 years and lighter than my man!!!

Good luck for this weeks weigh-ins and good luck bigbird on your maintenance.

Bex
xx

BigBird77 10-25-2006 03:10 AM

Morning Ladies,

Had my first weigh in since starting maintaince and lost another 4lbs!!! Its crazy I thought I would loose a lb at the most.

So how is everyone else doing?

Bexstar 10-27-2006 03:10 PM

Hi Bigbird...That is amazing on maintenance and lose!!!!!!! so what delights can we look forward to in maintenance??

Bexstar 10-30-2006 02:57 AM

Morning Ladies

Hope you are all well?

so I have 5 weeks left and I want to lose 27lbs!!! meaning I need to average 5.4lbs a week.....maybe a bit too ambitious here but the closer I get to it the better I will feel - I feel SOOOOO much better having shed 3 stone anyway :D

If I may aska personal question - to those that have lost a fair bit of weight - how is your skin? has it kept in-line with the new you or is it feeling a bit loose? just asking as I think I should start proper exercise as mine isn't bagging by anymeans but after been large for so many years I am really worried about it and maybe a bit of muscle tone will help? :?: Any experiences or suggestions are very welcome.

Have a good week and fingers crossed for weigh-ins!

xx

CazF 11-01-2006 03:06 PM

Sorry, have been away, and I confess I came off LL for a couple of days. Have my weigh in tomorrow night so will see what damage has been done. Tried to make good choices at least but five days with a very nervy worrying mother in law - she'd have had me committed if I hadn't eaten a meal in that time!!

Anyway. We shall see tomorrow. Am on, too, so guessing it won't be brilliant but we'll see!

Caz

Bexstar 11-06-2006 10:45 AM

Hi Caz

So how did you get on in weigh-in? hopefully all was ok and not too much damage was done?! I think the majority of people have a wobble especially when it comes down to peer pressure - that's the worst kind of pressure!

As long as you get back on it I am sure any slow down in the weight loss will be in the past and you'll see it dropping at the fast rate as before....maybe not quite as much as your first week as that must have been a record breaker!!!

How's maintenance bigbird????

Weigh-in tomorrow so looking forward to it and keeping fingers crossed!

Let me know how you are all doing!

xx

CazF 11-06-2006 01:31 PM

Hello!

Stayed the same last week, but as I was "on" and hadn't done LL for a few days wasn't too upset by that. Now back on it, was really hungry this afternoon but hung on.... so we'll see this week!

BB, tell us more about management!

Bexstar 11-09-2006 01:58 AM

Hiya!

So no weightloss after being at Mum in laws is pretty good I think...no gain that's even better!

Weigh-in went well for me another 3.3lbs gone. I am really quite amazed how quickly this weight has come off and I am now into week 13 of the program - 3 more pounds and I have lost 4 stone in 14 weeks!! quite incredible! :carrot:

I decided last month to extend my program by 2 weeks as I wanted to lose 4 stone, so now I want to lose another 1/2 stone. I am not skinny but I am looking and feeling so much better. However slightly nervous about eating real food again!

Keep up the good work everyone!:D

CazF 11-09-2006 06:23 PM

I'm glad you're still keeping me company Bexstar!

"Only" 2lbs this week. Was really hoping for 3 as then it would be a stone and a half but never mind. It will just make next week's loss even better, right??

You're doing amazingly :)

Bexstar 11-10-2006 11:10 AM

Hiya Caz

So 2 pounds better than nothing and next week should show a greater loss! And plus you have been doing LL for a short time really so 1.5 stone is excellent.

Have a good weekend

Bex
xx

CazF 11-13-2006 03:02 PM

How was your weekend?

I'm feeling quite low at the moment and it's hard not to comfort eat.... I know this is all part of learning our new way of life etc but it's hard...

Bexstar 11-14-2006 02:42 AM

Hiya Caz don't feel low just think how wonderful you are looking with the fab weight loss already and how great you will look with more gone! I know it's hard I have been so strong for all of my LL time except this weekend just gone when I could have murdered some food and a glass of wine! It was tough but I resisted!

Weigh in tonight so fingers crossed.

Pizzamonkey 11-14-2006 05:33 AM

Ive been on lighterlife for just over 100 days, I stayed strong until day 97 then went on a 2 day bender, I then went strong for 10 days but was in a hotel away from home, stressed out as anything and have been eating for 2 days - I thought I was being sensible by eating only protien - aka Atkins style, but I really feel like Ive put on weight - my face is bloated, I can feel my stomach bulging.

I guess its back to Lighterlife today, does anyone know how long it will take me to get back into Ketosis?

It really bugs me that the girls in my group cheat every week and still stay in ketosis and lose weight. The week I cheated I put on 2 lbs.
I really so depressed right now. Ive lost a total of 45lbs or so and have another 20 or so to go.

CazF 11-15-2006 10:20 AM

Pizzamonkey your name makes me smile :)

I've always found it takes me between 2-4 days to get back into strong ketosis. But if you've been eating mainly protein you should have a head start on that.

45lbs and you're depressed? You're doing AMAZING. So amazing. And 20 more to go is so not a lot; I can't wait to get that near. Well done. You've come so far, you've got to see it through now :)

Bex - how was weigh-in? Mine's tomorrow. Struggling a lot with water and still feeling down but hanging in there at this end.

Bexstar 11-28-2006 04:43 AM

Hello PizzaMonkey - nice to hear from another fellow LL person. You have done amazingly so don't let your 2 dayer get you down; just brush it under the carpet and get back on track and you will be fine ;)

Hiya Caz!, so please with my weightloss but weird last week I didn't lose anything??? I did more exercise than I have done since I have been on the program however I failed to drink more than 2 ltrs of water a day so my councellor thinks that can be the only reason why I have stayed the same weight for the first time in the 100 days! it was my last weighin of the 100 days so I was pretty disappointed. I have decided that although I am not a skinny mini - although I would not want to be always to have some curves. So I have almost completed week 1 of maintenance (my councellor said that it common for people to lose an additional 1/2 stone on maintenance (fingers crossed I am one of the common people :D ) However I have to say that although I am really enjoying the food and it does fill me up, I am so totally paranoid about putting on any weight - knowing how my body just has to look at something tasty in order to gain weight it is a very scary prospect!

My weigh-ins have changed now to 8.30 on a Wednesday which makes it a long day as I go straight from work and I wont get home until 10.20pm....So fingers crossed for tomorrow that there is no weight gain and a possible weight loss to catch up on the absence of it last week. I have been better with my water this week averaging about 4 ltrs so that better make a difference (strange the first 2/3 of the program I was having no issue drinking 5 ltrs a day!)

Good luck ladies

Bex

Hi everyone!

Googled lighter life and found this site with all your amazing stories-WOW. I'm just nearing the end of my third day on lighter life. I can't honestly say I'm hungry but I am finding it difficult-thinking about food a lot! Please say that is normal and it will pass??? I am really determined, I'm tired of making excuses, have obviously tried every diet known to man so HERE GOES! Reading all of your entries has really inspired me, hope I can have as much success. Fingers crossed!

Sarah Ann 12-09-2006 06:51 AM

Hi jo79sop and :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

I'm not a Lighter Life person but I thought I'd welcome you to 3FC so you didn't think anyone had ignored your post.

BritinNJ 12-09-2006 08:10 AM

Hello  jo79sop........come and join us in our December chat time too....most people post there, even if it has nothing to do with weight, we all just have a agood old natter about life as well :)

MistyRain 12-09-2006 08:26 AM

Hi

I haven't posted on 3FC's for a long time, but just wanted to show my support to all you LLers:) I'm an ex-Cambridge dieter (like LL), lost 8 stone and have maintained for 17 months.

Well done for all your weightlosses to date and good luck on the rest of your journeys:)

Bexstar 12-13-2006 08:52 AM

Hello people

I haven't been on line for a while - been away etc. Have some great news that although I did not lose weight in my last week of of my 100 days program however after 1 week on maintenance I made up for it and lost 5.5lbs! extremely happy that I have gone over my goal (that I thought was not achievable if I am completely honest!) but for those of you on the program in 107 days I lost 5 stone and a couple of pounds!!!!!!! :carrot: Certainly worth every day that I spent on the program I am a new confident woman and no longer have complete strops when out clothes shopping!

was feeling a little worried after a weeks trip in Vegas, although I tried to eat as sensibly as possible I also had alcoholic drinks, however I have weighed myself and my weight hasn't changed....got to be the first time ever that I have been away and not gained weight!!

Dawnx 12-20-2006 03:30 PM

Hi! I'm new on here, stumbled in here by accident looking for people who are on the Lighter Life programme, I've been on it for 4 weeks and I'm going all through Christmas on it, I get my 4th weigh in on Saturday 23 Dec but I've already gone down a dress size! Yippeee! I'm getting married in May so I have no intention of coming of this.

Actually I haven't felt this good in years, my skin has cleared up, I've got no more indigestion or IBS but quite scared about going back onto food at the end of this as I feel brilliant at the moment. Okay there are times where I feel like I'm missing out but the benefits far outway that. I look forward to speaking to some of you soon

lainey27 02-02-2007 03:19 PM

Now i have returned to my LLC... joined a new group..started again.. and am in the middle of week one.. first weigh in on monday. I am amazed and wonderfully happy for those of you who have stuck to this programme and done so well...just hope i can keep the determination going!
Hello elaine.. looks like we will be going through this at about the same stage.. good luck! .. as for recipies..you get a book of recipies from your group. I never used them last time.. maybe i should... it may help with variety :)

Hi I'm just wondering if someone could give me a bit of info regarding LighterLife. After visiting the LL website I've left a message for my local lighterlife counsellor to contact me and am just wondering as to what will happen when she does. Do you meet up with your counsellor and they then give you a form to take to your doctors or do they just post it out to you - also do you have to see your doctor again after the initial assessment? I'm really hoping to start on this very soon as I am due to go to Poland for a week in 16/17 weeks and it would be good if I could have finished the initial programme before I go.

I appreciate any info that you can give me with this.

Katie

Arwen 02-21-2007 02:04 PM

Hi Katie

I am new on this link. Have currently been doing LL for 2 weeks and have lost 1 stone!!!!!! The counsellor will contact you and you will be invited to a meeting where she will explain how it works, costs etc and you will see an introductory DVD which explains about the programme and also interviews people who have successfully lost weight on it. She will also give you a form which you have to get signed by the Doctor and which you have to return to her before you are allowed to start. Every 4 weeks you have to get another, simpler, form signed. I haven't reached that point yet but my Doctor charged me £30 to sign that first letter and my counsellor said I can go to a local chemists to get them to do it instead so it isnt essential that you have to see the same person every time.

There isn't any hard sell at all.

I think its a fantastic programme and am going for me mid-week weigh in tomorrow. After saying that, I am struggling more today than at any other point so any words of encouragement of anyone would be great. Of course you may know all this information now as I saw your message was several days ago. If so, apologies!

Helen

Clareh 02-21-2007 05:15 PM

Helen, I've just come across your post while browsing as I've intrigued by LL (but not sure it is the answer for me as I enjoy the whole 'experience of eating'- reading recipes, shopping, cooking and of course eating)

You sound really motivated and a stone in a fortnight is fab. I just wanted to drop you a line to say to keep up the good work- it seems there are some really fantastic LL results.

katie_oxo 02-22-2007 02:25 AM

Helen well done on your loss, you are doing brilliantly :) I just hope that I can do as well when I get to start.

Via the website I've been contacted by 2 different counsellors as I clicked on them both as locality wise they are both suitable for where I live/work. I need to go to the one who can start me the soonest --- one has sent me the info pack including the form so I've made an appointment to see my doctor next Wednesday, but today I'm going to try and get an earlier appointment with our practice nurse to see if she'll fill it in. Up to now the one counsellor I have spoke to hasn't said a date when I can start, just that she starts new classes all the time --- I'm going to phone the other counsellor today and see if she can give me a set date, so either way hopefully I should be joining you very soon.

Did you find that you felt funny for the first few days?

Katie

Arwen 02-22-2007 01:55 PM

Hi Clareh and Katie

Thanks to both of you for your encouragement, I didn't give in and feel much happier again today.

Katie, I need to lose at least another 7 stone but someone in my group only needed to lose about 3 and we both managed a stone in a fortnight so I am pretty sure that as long as you stick to it you will have good results. I didn't feel funny at all. On day 4, I did get a bit of a headache but drank more water and it went quite quickly. I thought I would feel shaky and weak but was fine, I did make sure I had a pretty clear first week though with nothing much planned so that probably helped. So far its been very positive and 100 times easier than I thought it would be. Last night was the first time I had a problem and that was because I was cutting recipes out of old WW magazines (to use when I finish the program) before throwing them away so I got food back into my head!

Clareh, after saying that, I hate cooking so dont have that problem. However I am doing LL from an all or nothing point of view - I was desperate enough to lose weight that I would try anything and am glad I did. Most of the people in my group are actually cooking more now for the rest of their family, but are more interested in heathy cooking than before so this would not necessarily be a problem for you.

I already feel empowered that my days are no longer controlled by food, I'm sure other people on this thread would probably agree.

Hope that helps.

katie_oxo 02-22-2007 06:08 PM

Helen I'm glad you're feeling so well on it. I managed to get an appointment for Monday with the nurse so hopefully she'll sign my form then - I spoke to the LL counsellor and she said she's only due to start a class a week on Wednesday but that I can start on the programme as from the day I get the form signed!!!

Glad to know that you didn't feel so bad when you started it, I travel 35 miles each way to work and was dreading feeling rotten during rush hour traffic as well as during work itself, I do have some leave I can take but as we're almost at the end of the financial year it's a busy time for me.

I'll keep you posted as to how I get on and please keep me posted on how you're going :)

Katie

Arwen 02-27-2007 05:29 PM

Hi Katie

Lost another 3lb this week. probably would have been more but I have been told to drastically increase my water intake and had already had a litre before being weighed which accounts for about an additional 2lb. Still happy though!

Good luck for tomorrow.

Let us know how you get on.

katie_oxo 02-28-2007 01:10 PM

Hi

Well done, that's another good loss - you're doing really well. I did read that it's important that you drink enough water so keep on supping :)

I went to the doctors today and she signed my form (hurray) so I've spoken to the counsellor and she has a group starting next week but is letting me start tonight. My only problem is that it's the birthday of a girl who works for me tomorrow and everyone is going out to lunch so I'm not sure whether to start on Friday instead as that way I won't have to explain to about 20 people as to why I'm not eating anything. I'm really looking forward to starting it properly though and even more so to losing some weight :)

Katie

micheleherts 02-28-2007 05:00 PM

Good luck Katie and Arwen. Two little shorties like myself!!!

Arwen 03-05-2007 03:59 PM

How did you get on Katie?

Weigh in today showed another 4lb off. Thats 21lb in 4 weeks! I am really pleased and it is getting easier.

OMG that is excellent. How did you do that?

BTW I have no idea what lighterlife is.

Arwen 03-12-2007 03:01 PM

Hi

Lighter life is a meal replacements diet with counselling. I think we are on 500 calories a day. It is expensive but worth while. It really works. Another 2lb off this week so 24lb now in 5 weeks. www.lighterlife.com may give you more info, not sure if its available outside the UK.

Katie how did you get on?

RowanMoon 04-02-2007 07:43 PM

Hi!

I've just joined and did a LL search and found all of you! I've been doing Lighterlife for about 10 weeks and I've lost 39 lbs so far - got another 4 stone to go. I've actually found it really easy some weeks and really difficult others but I'm aware that the group will be splitting up soon so I was looking for anyone else that's going through it.

Oh and how do you get those brilliant weight charts on the bottom of your posts - they're great!

Emma

katie1407 04-24-2007 07:01 AM

This thread doesnt seem to be updated too often. Hopefully by adding to it maybe some people who have posted before will let us know how they are getting on on Lighterlife?

I started today! Have had my first shake this morning and am looking forward to my soup for lunch. Drinking lots of water and feel fine.

Have already lost some weight thru low cal/low fat/ excercise but in the last few months have stuck. Keep losing and putting back on the same stone. Determined to do it this time, and want to do it quickly.

Please keep posting with your results all you LL people! We all need to support each other in our days of starvation!! lol
