Sarah
I haven't strayed at all , even when on holiday. i came back from holiday having lost 6lbs :D Saying that i was visiting the in-laws so was staying in a home from home so that's easier than a hotel Everyone else from my LL group has been away and have cheated at some point of their holiday and most of them have regretted it having put weight on. As one of them said " No food can taste as good as i feel losing weight" I'd say try and keep to the plan but if you do have any food/drink , don't beat yourself up about it just get back on the plan as soon as you can. I hope this helps :) |
Thanks Wilderhoney for a really inspiring post, you must be so proud of yourself I bet you feel and look great!:carrot: :carrot:
My weekend has been okay, I really really struggled when we were in London but since Sunday I have felt much better and alot less hungry, my tounge has gone all funnythough - it feels like i have burnt it although I havent and its a bit sore and all white, i tried to brush it but that hurt so i am just drinking loads and hoping it goes away. Weigh in tonight ooooooooooo scary stuff, I better have lost bloody loads or I will be very disapointed lol!! Suzie how was your weigh in yesterday? Good luck for today Bex, and what day do you wiegh on Sarah?? Off to drink some more water, lol, as i want it over with by 5 for my wiegh in!!! Katiex |
SuzieB - what a fantastic weightloss! well done :bravo: keep up the good work.
KTq - hang in there onc eyou have your first weigh-in this will boost you to continue - Make up crisps from your soup packs - they rock plus having a texture in your mouth is a great sensation :D Wilderhoney - thanks for the post, this is really motivational! you have done so well in such a small amount of time. The way I am looking at it is for 3 months or so of my life it is worth the sacrafice to have the slim me back again, as well as retraining my brain and stomach not to graze throughout the day! I find drinking 4ltrs of water during the day on a work day no problem, in fact i average about 5 ltrs, but on a weekend this is really tough and I sometimes struggle to drink 4 ltrs. The same goes with meals packs - weekdays I am hungry for the packs, but weekends I can take it or leave it and quite often forget one of the meals. This is weird as I sit at a desk most of the day at work, and at weekends I am active with DIY, dog walking/playing and of course socialising - does anyone else get this? Tuesday have become a nervous day for me now...weigh-in tonight!! :crossed: |
KTq my tongue is going through a similar weird look and feel - I found rinsing with mouthwash a couple of times during the day helps.
Good luck for tonight, I am sure you have shed the pounds. :goodluck: I was in London too on Saturday for a birthday party survived ok with everyone else around me very drunk; although being sober it is pretty good to wind people up the next day on their drunkeness : |
Big round of applause for wilderhoney!!! Wow what a fantastic weight loss!!!! I only hope that I can be so dedicated!
Good luck for tonight bex and ktg and well done on not straying in london - i'm avoiding social situations at the minute - mind you i'm only 1 week in and i know i can't for ever! I feel the same as you sarah and if at this point in time someone offered me a glass of wine I'd be very tempted!!! (does that make me sound like an alcy??) Thank you girls for your motivation and dedication as today has been decidedly ropey - had a weight loss again last night and have lost just over a stone in one week but i've had food on my mind all day!!!!!!!!!!! Think it's the old diet mentality of one good week deserves a treat creeping in but I've come straight home from work and bypassed all shops and logged on to get some inspiration and what an inspiration you are! On the water front I too have increased mine and I'm averaging about 5-6 litres a day. The odd thing is that I still feel thirsty at times???? I look forward to hearing about your weighlosses to spur me on for another good week! TTFN Suzie |
Suzzie, one stone in a week -thats fantastic, you go girl, keep up the good work:hug: .
I lost almost 9 pounds this week which i am very pleased about. I am also a very nice pink colour in the keytosis department and so I am enjoying my first bar. oooooooooooooo its sooooooo nice to chew. Bex its good to know I am not going through the tounge thing alone lol! How did the weigh in go? Ttfn Katiex |
Hi Ladies
Well done on the tremendous weight loss!:cp: I have to say I am gutted! since my pop-in on Saturday where I lost 1.8lbs I have not lost anymore weight...trying to be positive and look at the fact that in 2 weeks I have lost 10lbs and the weight is coming off rather than the usual going on. after a chat with my counsellor we believe the problems is two-fold: 1) i struggled with the water on the weekend and on Sunday only managed about 3.5ltrs (whereas I have been averaging 5ltrs a day) so the decrease in water means that I am retaining the water and need to up my intake back to 5ltrs as this seems to work best for my body and 2) sorry to go here, but I have not been for number twos for a week and although I'm not feeling any discomfort she suggested that I needed to take a lax tab to get it on its way(she did say that it is usual to be less frequent but a week is too long) so I did this and went this morning - which odd as it sounds was very satisfying! So I have arranged a pop-in on Sat am again so we can see how I am getting along. The good things is that my stix has been a perfect shade of pink so I am in ketosis. Anyway I don't want this to put the newer members off - I still lost weight and I am pleased with the 10lb loss.;) take care and chat soon Bex x |
Hi all!
Well done Bex for staying so positive, 10lbs in two weeks isnt bad going, and you are completly right you know that if your sticking to your food packs, drinking your water and in ketosis then its got to come off at some time. Although it must be disheartening for you - hang on untill Saturday and I bet you see a bumper loss there. Today I am feeling like you were yesterday Suzie, I really really want something nice. I cant say I am hungry as such, just tempted - i will not give in!!! Love and hugs to all in abstinance!!! Katiexxxx |
Hi Guys,
Just got back from my festival, it was bloddy hard work with all the food stands around and everyone you passed seemed to be either drinking or eating something. O and the porta loos at 2 in the morning are not nice. I have to admit that I dropeed back down to 4 litres a day and I just dident want to go to the loo too much. So I was very suprised to find that I had lost 6lbs...yea 2 stone in 5 weeks. |
Hey Big Bird!
Thats a fab loss, your doing so well to stick with it after 5 food free weeks. I dont think I could have managed a festival, I was supposed to go camping for 1 night this weekend and I cancelled because I cant bear to be away from my blender for 2 whole days, lol!!!!!! I have got my nieces and nephews staying tonight to watch some DVDS, theres going to be sweets and popcorn every where! I will be having some stern words with myself lol! Katiex |
be strong katie!!!
|
Hello there. I too stumbled across this site whilst using google. My name is Becky and am just staring week 5 of my lighterlife programme. I lost 7lb the first week and 4lb for the next two. and after beng a litle bit naughty this weekend with wine and a few nibbles, i only lost 2lb this week...most disappointing!! Depite that, i have jumped back on the wagon and started again with enthusiasm! I am 5t 5" and I first weighed in at 15st 10lb and am now 14st 7lb and starting to feel the difference. I have been overweight for a number of years and have tried and failed at a number of diets and like many of you i feel that this is the answer for me. Sometimes its hard...... but will ultimately be worth it!! Keep it up gals! :)
|
welcome becky - week 5 wow!
what an achievement, does the counselling help - I'm only in week 2 and it hasn't really started for me yet and i guess i'm a bit curious as to whether it does change your way of thinking and behaviour towards food. I'm betting we've all tried numerous diets before LL and know exactly what we should eat we just don't do it!!!! |
Well done everyone you're doing SOOOO well!!
I am now part-way into week 6 and lost a grand total of 2 stone in 5 weeks so I'm really feeling very happy. Still going strong although feeling VERY tempted today but have NOT succombed to temptation. We're going to France on Saturday for 2 weeks (so won't be online sob :( ) we're camping and I'm reeeeally worried about sticking with this. We're also going with friends so am going to have to be very strong. Anyway, well done everyone and will speak again either in the next couple of days or in 2 weeks!! Sarah xx |
:cp: Well done on your continued weight loss girls
Got weighed last night lost another 4lbs :D I'm now embarking onto the road to Management next Monday and have my book to get the shopping in So another 6 days i hope to get my last 3lb off, drinking water like never before :o may as well move my desk into the loo  Please keep going don't give up. I'm living proof that this diet really works. I'll post some photos soon |
Morning Ladies and :welcome2: Becky!
Everyone is doing so well and BigBird you are a trooper to stick with it over the festival :dancer: Wilderhoney you must be so pleased with yourself, I can't wait until I am at the same stage as you, although I do think I will be on the program for more than 100 days - is that possible to extend the time and does anyone know how it works. I ideally want to go up to 1-2 weeks before Christmas, my 100 days takes me up to 28th November and I think an extra 2-3 weeks would really help as I want to lose a minimum of 4 stone but ideally 4.5 - 5 stone. Sarah good luck for the next 2 weeks in France - the temptation to slip is going to be great but stick with it. SuzieB I felt the same as you for the first 2 weeks of the program but week 3 is making more sense and my group are really starting to open up and speak freely - which helps a great deal. I think my attitude to food is going to be alot better at the end of the program and if nothing else I am going to be consious about eating rather than grazing and half the time not even realising how much I have picked at and eaten (all of which was naughty food!) I have upped my water intake to 5ltrs now - so hoping the pop-in on Saturday is going to show it on the scales (feeling nervous as I cannot see where the weight has gone from except my watch is a fraction loser?) Have a good day all Bex xx |
Just being nosy - hope you don't mind. I am so completely impressed by everyones' progress that I've got some questions....
How much water are you supposed to drink each day? How many calories do your daily food packs total? Does the programme allow you any non food-pack food - like salad or fruit? Do they recommend you take exercise at the same time? |
Hi Sarah,
You need to drink a minimum of 4 litres of water a day. You have 4 foodpacks a day and that gives you between 500 and 550 cals a day. Apart from your foodpacks the only other things you can have are water, black tea and coffee with sweetner (but not the powdered kind) Exercise is recommended but most people don't feel up to it untill week 3-4 Hope that helps? |
Thanks for that!
|
No problem,
If you have any more questions please do feel free to ask :) |
Lighterlifers seen as you all lose loads you should go and have a brag in the forum wide weigh in thread here. :D
|
Hiya,
This thread is soooo good, such alot of inspiration and motivation, anytime I think about food I come here instead (well no not anytime otherwise I would be here all day, but sometimes!!) Hi Becky:welcome2: Well done on getting to week 5 with a fab weight loss, I am just in week 2 and that seems along way off, so well done you. Wilderhoney you are truely amazing :cb: :cb: , another 4lbs you must look like a disapering act!!!!! Thanks for the support Suzie, I pretty much managed to stay away from the sweets and chocolates but I have to confess I ate 10 maltesser's, I was a bit pissed off with myslef afterwards but I have put it behind me and I figure it wont affect me that much. I have been supper good today and been guzzeling water like its wine! Well my best mate is having a bit of a crisis at the moment and so is coming to stay with me for a few nights from today, I have already told her that she must not tempt me in to eating or drinking anything and that if I am looking weak she has to bully me/ physically restrain me if necessary! Friday night I will be out on the town with sparkling mineral water - can hardley wait - drunk people are sooo not funny when your sober! Gosh I waffle, sorry but at least while I am typing I am not thinking about food!! I hope you have alovely holiday Sarah, try to be strong and do what you feel is right for you, whatever you decide to do we will see you when you get back. And hang on in there Bex, you will feel the weight loss and it will come off soon, they say after the first stone you feel it more. i know I am a week behind you but I dont feel any different either. Keep gluging the water!  to everybody. Katie x |
Thanks for the warm welcome ladies. Sarahb in answer to your question about the weekly classes and "counselling", i am still unsure myself. I am finding that the aim is to look at your reasons for over eating and looking at what triggers you to over eat. I guess that we will be more aware of what these triggers are after we have all discussed it at length. I know that i am fat because i am lazy with food... eat convieniently and late at night....O and drink too much wine!!! LOL I am not really looking at how i will cope at the end because that all seems so far away just now... only hoping that when i am slim i will watch my weight like a hawk to ensure it doesnt creep back on. You guys should all be proud of what you have achieved so far.... this is not an easy option!!!...its bloody hard work! Am looking forward to my next weigh in.. feels like it may be a good week!

To all the new people just started on LighterLife:
Hi Guys I though I would share some tips that I have picked up on my way through LighterLife. I am on week 6 now and have so far lost 2 stone. LighterLife is hard there is no hiding from that, When ever I am tempted to eat I say a little motto to myself.....I would rather be thin than be eat....and I have stuck a picture of myself at my fattest on the fridge and my cupboard as I never want to be that fat again. I know this is going to sound odd but I also watch cookery programs on sky as they help, I like watching food being cooked, it sort of helps me with my cravings, o and the savory drinks from LighterLife are fab, kind of like a thin soup. If you have a slip up don't beat yourself up, just get back on the program and put it behind you. I have also found it really useful telling my friends and family about what I am doing. My boyfriend has been fantastic, I am not sure I could have made it through a all day wedding (sit down meal and then a chocolate fountain and bacon butties in the evening) and then a 6 day festival without him - turst me there were times I would have killed someone just so that I could have there chips. If any of you need help or just someone you can talk to there are plenty of us on here to help :) |
BigBird you are inspirational - thank you!
:carrot: I am quite excited this morning - I put on a pair of jeans that I bought earlier this year (even though earlier this year I was lighter) these jeans were the kind of jeans that I needed to jump around and wiggle my legs around to get them (they looked alreight once they were on me though, as long as I wore a top the covered half of my bum level) anyway I waffle, they were very tight round the waist and left an imprint around my stomach...but WHOOOHOOOO this morning I have put them on - no silly jumping, no cutting off circulation at the waist and don't need to wear such a long top with them!!!:dancer: Sorry for the waffle but this has given me such a boost! |
That feeling is great when you get a pair of tight jeans on and you need to add a belt :)
Well done Bexstar |
:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: Woo hoo well done Bex, thats fab, evidence that you are indeed shrinking. Just think soon you will need a belt to keep them up!
Thanks Big Bird for the advice, when you first started did you ever think you would make it to 6 weeks? I didnt think I would make it to the end of the first week never mind anything else but as I go along I get more and more motivated! I havent told many people at all about doing lighter life as I dont think all of them would react positivly, I have told people who I can rely on for support but people at work dont know. As I work shifts I have told them that I am eating all my m eals at home because I want to pay more attention to the things I eat, rather than eat on the run at work - so far they buy it, but maybe when I have lost a bit more weight i will let them in to the secret!! Heres to a good day for everyone, and a wonderful weekend! Katiex |
Hi Katie,
I never thought I would make it past week 3. I am so pleased with myself and was even more pleased when 5 people today said that they could see I had lost a load of weight. Only problem so far is some back pain as my bust hasent gone down yet still a E cup :( |
Oh My word BigBird...Jessica Rabit eat your heart out!
|
evening ladies,
your words are helping toinspire and keep me on the straight and narrow - i'm almost two weeks in to lighter life now and at first it was 14 weeks!! Bloody ****!!!! now i'm like ooohh - I'm nearly a seventh of the way through and in just over a weeks time it will be 20% and i think this helps me too see just how short a space of time it wll be....I will NOT give up before week 14!!!! Has anyone tried the water flavours and savoury drinks? Are they worth the money and how long do they last think i need to add a little more flavour to my diet so I may buy some on monday at my next session! Had a good week this week food wise - not 1 cheat!!! Haven't felt hungry at all but pyschologically miss eating so i'm hoping the counselling starts in earnest to handle these triggers. Hope you are all doing well and keep up the good work. WE WILL SUCCEED!!!!! |
Good Morning Ladies!
Big Bird, I am sure you will lose some weight from there, but hey no complaints, some of us would kill for a pair like that!!!!!!!! I am feeling fantastic this morning and just wanted to share it with you all, I spent the day yesterday with my friend and i resisted all food, we went to the cinema and i sat there with my tofee bar and water, while she drank coke and ate maltesers (skinny B*tch!), I cooked for her and had a rasberry shake. Oooooooo i am so pleased with myself lol!!! Today I am offto my mums got my goodies packed and a bag full of bottled water and I am feeling very strong. I am also feeling SLIMMER - hurray wooooo I am soo excited, today for the first time I can see a little difference in myself, not big obviousley, but enough to know that i am shrinking. Suzie, some of the ladies in my class use the savoury drinks and say they are like another meal, also apparently they are very strong so one sachet makes two cup fulls, but they think they are lovely. I think they are 6 a box, which is better than the water flavourings, when my leader said they were 9 I made my mind up to get used to water lol!!! Anyway have a good weekedn everyone, Katie |
hi ladies, this is my first post :)
i did the lighterlife before but had an operation at week 6 and wasn't allowed back on the program for 3 months  in that time i have nearly regained all the weight i lost (due to everyweek being the 'last chance to have it'... massive binges) anyway time is up now! tomorrow i have to get back on this!! i have at least 2 weeks worth of foodpacks in the kitchen waiting. today i stuffed my face til i couldnt eat anymore :( i will be 40 in 3 weeks and my original plan was to be 'fab and 40' and not 'fat and 40' i MUST STICK WITH THIS for the next 3 weeks but i know its going to be so hard! :( can i make it past day 3?! :?: Sally |
hello, 40nfab! and i'm sure you will be!!!
Don't beat yourself up over the weight you've put back on - it's in the past now you need to move on in a positive frame of mind!!! How wonderful of you to get to week 6 previously, this shows that you can do this so please don't doubt yourself - i'm just ending week 2 and I keep going by telling myself to stay strong, looking in the mirror and identifying where i want to loose the weight from and reminding myself that it's simply a means to an end - think of it like your own big brother, 100 days, 4 foodpacks 4 ltrs water a day are the rules you have to follow and when you get to the end you get a great prize!!!!!! To me this is a way to get a lot of weight off quickly and i'm hoping for 4 1/2 stone in these 100 days - unsure yet of whether i could continue after that but if i don't i will go back to a slimming club to keep myself in check. Has everyone had a good weekend???? I've managed to resist the temptations of the vodka bottle!!! A friend at work came back from hols with a bottle for me and i've left it in my bottom drawer!!! Didn't dare bring it home! I'm sorting hoping i'll forget it's there til xmas........mmmmm maybe not - the fact that i'm writing about it shows not! love and hugs to you all |
Morning everyone,
and welcome to 40nFab, we all here to help if you need us :). Well I am almost at the end of week 6, yipeeee almost half way! I actually went to Tesco's yesterday and brought a pair of size 14 jeans (they were only £10 what a bargin), I should never have taken my mum with me as all she did was moan that they were obviously tooo small for me!!! Well I got home and tried them on and they fit!! I cannot remember the last time I was size 14. |
Hello Ladies and welcome 40nfab!
Sounds like everyone has been very strong minded this weekend and good for you all it is worth it! Well done bigbird size 14 how exciting!!! I can't wait until I can post that kind of news!!!! So I went to an engagement party in Essex (a good hour or so drive) we would normally stay the night but used the excuse of driving because no one could look after the dog over night and therefore no one questioned why I was drinking water. I was so proud of my will power the couple had done one of the largets and best spreads of food I have ever seen. I even coped with helping the bride to be put the food out with no tempation (just a watering mouth!!) During the day I made sure I drank 4ltrs of water as I was unsure how much I would want at the party....ended up drinking a total of 7.5ltrs! unfortunately it meant 4 pees in the night! :o It was an enjoyable evening and the bonus is that I have been asked to be a bridemaid so there is goal number 2 for the weightloss (Christmas being the first goal) especially as they are thinking of getting married in March next year! 6 months to organise it..brave or mad I am not sure. Weighin tomorrow ...nervous but also excited this time! |
Hi All!
Welcome forty n fab! My weekend was fabulous! Hope everyone elses was too! Big Bird getting in to a pair of size 14 is very very exciting, thats one of my goals and whatsmore Tesco arent particularly genourus either. Bexstar, well done for abstaining, where do you live if you dont mind me asking, cos I am about an hour from Essex too, in Hatfield. I have just been to an interview for a new part time job, which they told me on the spot that I got! woohoo!:carrot: :carrot: . I am really pleased, its a lovely little residential home for people with Learning disabilities and I am looking forward to starting. The only problem is they pay a month in loo and i am not sure how I will fund my lighter life for that month. Anyway thats at least a month away so I will worry about it then. I weigh in tomorrow too, I am nervously excited, i really hope its a good loss. Good Luck for tonight Suzie! Like you I am thinking of going to a slimming club after I have lost about 3 stone to finish losing there, I miss food too much to do this crazy diet any longer than the 100 days! Love to all Katiex |
CONGRATULATIONS KATIE!!! :woo:
I in Princes Risborough which is 10 mins from Wendover and about 15-20 from Aylesbury. Not too far from Hatfield - can get there (well to the gallaria) in about 40 mins (with no traffic!) I agree I am going to go onto a weight management type thing like slimming world etc, to shed the extra weight after LL. I want to lose 3stone on LL and if I lose more oh how fab that would be! especially as we potentially maybe going on a special xmas do for Christmas potentially 2 weeks after my 100 days! eeek! Good luck Suzie - let us know how you get on Bex x |
Hi girls,
Everyone is doing fab - keep up the good work although I will admit to having a major wobble last night - managed not too cheat though!!! I went to my meeting and as my group were going in there was already a couple of people in with my leader - so we all sat and waited and waited for about half an hour til she started weighing us. There are a few extra members appeared so it took a bit longer than usual - weigh in is meant to take half an hour but almost 1 1/2 hrs in and we were only just getting to the end - result was that we only got too watch the dvd and nothing else! This still resulted in the meeting running over by about 25 mins and I was well annoyed driving home!! We are starting week 3 and all we have done is watch a dvd for the last 2 weeks!! Now this might be the "counselling" that lighter life provide but at this rate i'd rather switch to cambridge and save half the money!!! So, it's now after 9 when i'm driving home, haven't had my tea or shower / bath after work and fulll of cold so i'm peeed off, grubby and hungry and i swear if i'd had any money in my purse i'd have been severely tempted to stop at the 24hr tesco!!!!!!!!!! I don't suppose it helped any that I was feeling a bit disappointed with losing 4lbs - I know it's silly and I shouldn't be but I just thought i'm surviving on 500 cals a day and 6 ltrs water and it's only 4 lbs? Well thats my rant well and truly over with just needed to get it off my chest! oh and one other thing.....SIZE 14 JEANS - WOOHOO BIGBIRD!!!!! Katie and bexstar - how did your weigh in's go??? |
Hi guys,
Got weighted last night and lost 5lbs another 2lbs and I will lost 2.5 stone. I am just starting week 7 so almost half way there....thank god! I am hoping that when I cross off day 50 on my little chart I will be see the last week fly by (well fingers crossed anyway) Had a really good session with my group and we all agreed to throw out the clothes that are mow too big for us , I think this will be a really postive step for all of us :) |
Hi all
I have cheated the last few days!! Well and truly fallen off the wagon! I am SOOOO cross with myself! Feel that i have put on a few pounds too... how depressing!! Tell you what... it is so NOT worth it. I am full of positive thoughts again after reading your posts and vow to get back on the wagon today. Whoever said that "no food tastes as good as loosing weight feels" couldnt have been more right. I am very impressed with you all, your weight loss and attitudes towards this.... keep it up! Good luck Becky |
