I'm weighing about 11 and a half stone on my boyfriends scales which means I have lost 2lbs. I am happy with this, I only have a few more to loose which I understand is the hardest part of any diet. I just hope that I can loose all I want to fairly quickly and that it doesnt take months and months for me to do it. I nearly disappear now when I turn sideways - my boyfriend can't believe how thing my waist is looking. Just trying to concentrate on me handles and legs now, which is where I believe my last stone of fat is hanging on to. Well done everybody!
Everyone seems to be doing well.... well done, lets keep it up!
Im staying in a hotel away from home all next week, with work.
Theres a gym and spa... Im going to try and use the gym regularly during my stay... hopefully might help towards loosing some more before i go on holiday..!
Keep it up everyone...
Tip...
Lets try and drink a pint of water half an hour between meals... I did this today and was too full to finish a meal i would have usually finished and then some!!
For tea times.... veggie stir fry.... I always forget how good it is... and sooooo low in fat and kcals!
I am willing to join you from tomorrow. I really need a budy to do this. I would like to loose upto 12lbs in 4wks too for a special occasion.
Hi PinkPanther.
I've only just read this thread so am a bit late to join in the main part I think. But I would happily do this with you if you like?
I'm in need of a kick start to get myself going. Keep thinking about doing things and actually doing nothing whatsoever, so if I had someone doing it with me, it would be a great help.
I'll start today!! And I'll put a ticker on the bottom here so we can keep track.
Hi guys.... Ive just got back from working away... how have you all been?
Well i did manage to get in the gym in the hotel quite a bit... was a lovely hotel! When i got back i got weighed.. id lost 2 lbs.. i got weighed this morning at it had turned into 4 lbs...woo! SO... thats a grand total for me of 8lbs in total... SO with one week left i have a target of 4 lbs... Im thinking its totally possible... HAPPY VEGGIE>>> what are you thinking??
Tell you what... I challenge you to beat me this week. Im going to lose 4lbs... up for it??
anyone losing motivation? getting discouraged? I'm starting to feel like that... any advice?
Add in something new to your plan - i.e. challenge yourself to perhaps do extra or a different kind of exercise or make a point of trying one new kind of food a day.
A good incentive is to buy a lovely item of clothing in your target size and hang it on the outside of your wardrobe door where you can see it each morning as you wake up.
How about making a list of the reasons why you want to weigh less - anything, no matter how, daft - then stick it somewhere you can see it all the time and keep adding to it as you think of something else - then read it when you feel discouraged.
Or you could make a list of the things you have achieved as a result of weightloss, once again, no matter how daft - and put that somewhere where you can see it all the time. This is a biggie for me - I put all my 'achievements' together with the dates and its lovely to see when, for instance, I finally managed to paint my own toenails! I've got it stuck to a message board in front of my 'puter and it really works for me.
Thanks everyone! I've been feeling a little blue because I exercise for 3 hours a day, I average about 1500 calories a day, I drink about a gallon of water every 12 hours, I take a multivitamin daily and I'm a vegetarian so no fatty foods like hamburgers and fried chickemn for me, but i still can't get below 142 lbs! It's been about 2 months since I lost a pound.
Afrosarah I say yes to that challenge! I would be happy even if I lost 1 pound.
3hourse exesrcise sounds a lot... are you eating enough????
mybe try eating different foods...
some people "zigzag" cal.. i think you eat more one day, less the next.. i dont know much about it.. but keeps your body guessing... i think thats the idea
I know its a tough goal... but i'm setting my goals high from now on!!
Ive been slacking lately and i need to 'just do it' !!
3 lbs a week is a lot... but even if i only lost say, 6 lbs this month, then id still be happy, so i wont be too disappointed..
So for the challenge... any tips, support, anything related can be posted in here... along with weekly weigh ins..
Good luck! x
6 lbs a month x's 12 months = 72 lbs -- that in itself is a huge accomplishment! My tip is drink plenty of water (6 glasses), that helps keep hunger at bay and the pounds seem to come off quicker. Good Luck!
Happyveggie - I zig-zag my calories - the theory is that if we reduce our calorie intake and eat a set amount of calories EVERY day the body reduces its energy output levels correspondingly. However, if we eat more calories some days and less calories on others then our bodies won't get used to a specific intake and will keep on burning at a higher level. Basically we will fool our bodies in to thinking its getting more calores than it is - but at the end of the week your total cals add up to the same weekly total had you eaten the same number of calories each day. Here's a zigzag calculator: http://strengthnspeed.tripod.com/Nut.../ZigZagCal.htm I don't really know if zigzagging works but I like having two or three days each week when I get extra calories even if I have to cut back a bit on the other days.
Other things to think about: Have you used FitDay to find out whether you are eating enough protein and do you have rest days from your exercise? Do you do exercise which burns a lot of calories? For instance I burn more cals when I'm swimming or doing aerobics than I do when I'm lifting weights / abs / yoga stretches (but they all have a place in my fitness plan).
Finally.... I've done it.... probably most of us have done it.... there's something called (if I remember correctly) portion drift - its when we stop weighing food because we think we know what a portion of something looks like but we get it wrong and the portions grow a little larger each day. i.e. DH weighed my estimated ounce of Gorgonzola cheese and found it weighed just over 2 ounces!
Good luck - plateaux are so depressing - but keep at it. Maybe jiggle your calories around a bit, perhaps eat more in the mornings and less in the evenings.
I have just added boxing to my list of daily activities. For the last two weeks I have ran for an hour a nite, and now I am riding my bike for half an hour, doing my boxing, muscle toning and walking on a daily basis.
What with the boxing I have noticed my wrists getting weaker, so I am trying to strengthen them up aswell.
I have lost a total of 4 inches of each of my thighs Altho I have a loose stomach, are there any ideas as to how I can tighten the skin on my bele - sit ups make me feel so sick, so they are out of the question really.
God I wish I remember what I weighed at the beginning of this challenge. Since then I have lowered my personal target by another half a stone (7lbs).
