I'm back!!!! I did get my swim in, the hotel was in the middle of nowhere!!! On a dual carriage way opposite a car dealership!!!! No slinking off for fruit beer!!!

The conference was really good and I feel all knowledgeable now!

I went to a mixed school, but was bullied by girls and boys, for my co ordination and asthma, and also my big boobs. Towards the end my weight was an issue as well. I thnk girls are worse than boys, they are more targeted with their bullying. Boys often have a sexual undertone to theirs which is a bit creepy, but girls are very good at mobilising other girls. Horrid.

Off to abs class today and swimming tonight, next week should be new trainer week, and then I will start trying a bit of running!!!!! Couch to 5k here we come!!!

2frustrated 01-20-2006 03:48 AM

Woooo! Couch to 5K - It's GREAT! You can do it! :D

Oh some BBC dude came round to look at the place, there's been a bit of media interest on one of the projects I'm working on (the ballet frame), it was in Metro last week.

Kickboxing last night was good. The instructor taking the class had been on holiday and put on weight and hadn't been training for about 4 weeks, so I absolutely mullered him when we were sparring! Frus RULES!

Feeling the pain in my arms today! Too much speedwork on the mitts...

kykaree 01-20-2006 06:03 AM

Oh oh oh oh I saw the ballet frame and thought it was the BEST!!!! The little girl looked just like Angelina Ballerina!!!! I used to work with kids and adults like her, I really miss it.

Well done on the kickboxing. I miss martial arts, really gotta do some, but not enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do.

Swimming tonight, busses permitting!!!!

I did no exercise yesterday, I was going to go to the gym at the hotel in the morning, but my alarm didn't go off and I slept in!!!!

2frustrated 01-20-2006 06:16 AM

Hoooohah! Kickboxing Queen reporting for duty! Little ballerina's frame is one her Dad made, mine will be better  I just have to get my arse in gear!

Maybe martial arts is something to try "if" you hit a plateau... swap swimming or running or gym work for it (although running and weights really do compliment it when you get serious!) :dunno:

I did lots of weights this morning, tomorrow I'm running again. I think I've (finally!) worked out my running plan between now and the Capital 10k - do the half marathon then start training for a 10k in April (with a 5 mile in March as a warm up) then move onto a training plan aimed at getting me a bit faster before the 10k in June, using Race for Life in May as a warm up for that. I need to have things in my diary to aim for or I'll lose my motivation!

I'm so glad it's Friday, I've had a niggly cold all week and I just want a bit of a rest. I've got two runs planned for the weekend but nothing else. I've just put some roast veggies and chicken in the oven to cook, and opened a nice bottle of red wine. I'm calling it research as I'm going to visit the winery while I'm in Spain next month (it's my dad's favourite wine so he's really jealous that I get a free tour with tasting!).

Tonight will be an evening in catching up on the tv I've missed over the past few days, I've got some Shameless and the E4 episode of Desperate Housewives to go as the first look showings at 11 are too late for me when I've got to get up for the gym!

Oh, and drinking wine, obviously, but I promise I won't finish the bottle, I have to RUN in the morning!

veggie 01-20-2006 02:18 PM

Give the rest of the wine to me I have no running to do...ever. ;)

Dippy Chip 01-20-2006 02:50 PM

Welcome back Kylie!

Wow, all you duracell bunnies are making me feel really inadequate. I've done a couple of hours on the turbo trainer this week as well as 4 hours of brisk walking, but I know that's baby stuff for you hard core girlies :( ;) .

And I had to work through lunch so I couldn't go to Pilates - and I took all my gear to work with me and everything :tantrum: :tantrum: ! Next week I'm going even if my boss lies in front of the door to block my exit - one well aimed toe-poke in the family jewels should make him get out of my way  !

Just booked my summer holiday to Rome :beach: - I'm so excited even though we could only afford to go in July when the whole city's hotter than a sauna. Twenty-six weeks to lose a bit more blubber...

Have a great weekend everyone,

Janey

YP1 01-20-2006 03:02 PM

Ooh, Rome. I love Rome. I need to go back at some point, I've not been to Italy for ages (although probably a good thing bearing in mind my tendency to eat everything I can find while I'm there ;) )

Make sure you get yourself to pilates next week or there'll be trouble!

cat90 01-20-2006 03:49 PM

I used to love Desperate Housewives too Veg :dunno: but the novelty has worn off now  I still like it but if I miss an episode its no biggie ;) same thing happened with 24  I loved the first series but I missed the one where his wife got killed and lost interest after that  saw a bit of the new series last week and thought I was watching a repeat for a minute  could'nt figure it out so off it went

WillowFae 01-20-2006 05:14 PM

The new series of DH is good. And as for 24 - we are only 4 episodes into season 5, but WOW! Back to season 1 standard.

Think it starts in Feb over here.

YP1 01-21-2006 04:34 AM

I did a 40 minute/4.4 mile run this morning. I'm definitely getting faster, although I'm not so sure about distance - tomorrow is meant to be 9 - 10 miles :faint:

I hope it's as sunny tomorrow morning, I really wanted to continute running this morning but thought I'd better stop to save some energy for tomorrow!

(And I didn't drink all the wine, so that's my treat for this evening sorted :D )

veggie 01-21-2006 09:15 AM

No doubt I will get bored of DH I'm a bit bored of Lost half way through the second series. Never mind I have American Idol to obsess about now.

Ooh the London whale is live on bbc news 24. Poor whaley. :(

YP1 01-21-2006 10:19 AM

I've finally made a start on my clothes purge. There is now nothing bigger than a 16 in my wardrobe or any of my drawers (and even some of the 16s got chucked because they were too baggy :D ). Unfortunately it's now in piles on the floor :o

And I can just about get both legs down one leg of my size 22 jeans, although it's going to be tricky to take a photo as if I use the self timer I'll have to hop across the room to get in shot!

kykaree 01-21-2006 10:19 AM

Definitely poor whaley, journos in Oz would be harpooned if they got that close to it. I hope it survives, but I doubt it will, it's probably old and sick and looking for somewhere to drop its clogs, poor thing.

I went for a walk with DH and I am off to the gym shortly. I'm still really tired, not quite as duracell bunnyish as I have been, I'm sure it's just the time of year. I am now spotless by the way, thanks for all your help to get me over spottydom!!!!

Dippy Chip 01-21-2006 10:30 AM

Yes, poor whaley :( it's only a baby :( ! At least they've managed to get it on a barge so hopefully that's a good sign...
