I've just got back from a full body weight training workout! Did 5 mins treadmill and 5 mins rowing machine too! WOOO! The gym was full of posers, really tiny tiny thin men, but with big muscles! WHA?
Nothing today, I've been at my grandparents all day. But I'm still buzzing from yesterday. I did 52 minutes on the treadmill. But why I'm more pleased than my 45 minutes the day before which was mainly walking is that yesterday I ran for 48 minutes of that time! That's by far the longest I've ever run for, and I made it up to 7k of solid running. Even more impressive, the first 5k was the fastest I've ever run 5k (33minutes) but I still had the strength to carry on.
I didn't have time to pop down to the pool after that, so at lunchtime I fancied popping over to the gym for a jacuzzi. I went over, got changed and walked through to the pool. To my horror it was empty with an engineer in it. So instead of just getting changed and going back to work I ended up swimming for 30 minutes. I can't quite believe I was capable of that after the run!
I do envy you gals who are capable of running....I jog on my rebounder, but it's not the same . But given that my knees are already grindy and I have a gimpy foot I just don't think I ought to risk it .
I got up bright and early this morning and have already done a 55 minute brisk walk. Either rebounding or cycling after lunch....
I did a full upper body weights routine this morning, as well as 10 minutes bike, 15 minutes treadmill and a good old swim. My swim buddies are all away, so I was left to the mercy of the kids and the teenagers today!!!! ARGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!! And some shopping so I am well over my 10 000 steps too!!!
Today's been my best exercise day since before I went on holiday. After this morning's 55 minute walk, I did an upper body weights routine, and then after lunch I rebounded for 52 minutes (and burned of 503 calories). I'm feeling virtuous now !
Went down the gym and did about 20 mins on the treadmill (I pulled the emergency stop halfway through by accident! ) I did 10 mins on some arm cycling thingy and 10 mins on the cross trainer and some sit ups.
Also been out to the environmental fair in Greenwich so did a bit of walking too!
I always end up pulling the emergency stop at odd points when I'm fiddling with my towel or my headphones or something. I'm still amazed that I've never actually fallen off the back of the thing.
Hmm. I was waiting for the gym to open at 6.30am this morning! (Had to give my mother a lift to the station for the 6am train). Ran 1km then got horrible horrible period pains very suddenly and had to sit down for a while. Recovered and did 30 minutes of HARD hills walking on the treadmill, then about 1km on the cross trainer. Then I swam for 45 minutes (1500 metres - 100 lengths of the tiddy 15m pool). And my stomach started feeling better, thankfully.
im back to the gym tomorrow ............dh is dragging me by the hair if necessary(his words) ive not been in about 3-4 weeks och well, all to the higher good or better good or whatever
This morning - 20 minutes running up hills on the treadmill. Then 5 minutes rower and then weights. Then back on the treadmill for 10 minutes of speed work - trying to run faster than normal for a shorter period of time.
Then I remembered that I had an 8.30 meeting, ran to the shower, ran to work and sat through the meeting with dripping wet hair...
15 minutes speed work on the treadmill (10 minutes of that faster than I've ever run before). 20 minutes on the cross trainer at level 12/20. 5 minutes on the rower. Some weights. 1000 metre (30 ish minute) swim.
Body Zone class... hmmmmmm... part aerobics then should've been part weights, like body pump, with barbells and handbells, but the instructor was RUBBISH! There was no training on form or focus on muscles at ALL! She was just performing the exercises really badly and shouting lots!
