I know what you mean about parents being married more than once. At 26, I have been with my husband for 10 years and we have 2 children together (only been married for 2 yeasr - we were sinners before that - lol). My mum has been with my stepdad for 15 years and has had 3 children all by different fathers - lol. And they say that the marriages of our generation are more likely to break up - lol.

I don't know my dad's family (my father is dead and i didn't really know him) but my mum has been married 3 times and so has my step father. I have one half brother and one half sister as well as a step sister (from my mother's previous marriage) that I don't speak to. My poor half sister last year also lost both of her grandparents on her father's side.

I used to stay with my grandparents all through the school holidays and lived with them as a young child ( with my mum as well).

Got bored - lol. You may have noticed - lol. Have been looking at Vintage messages - lol from previous pages and have bumped up a few that I thought might still be relevant and help people.

Nice pics Kirsty Happy Mother's Day to you all. I haven't celebrated it of course, as it's not on the same day here, it's not until May.
I did phone my Mum and wish her a happy one though She was having a good day celebrating with a nice dinner for my cousins 40th birthday. And I did manage to get her a 'Mum' card, which can be tricky as I have to have someone go and buy it in England, send it to me, so I can send it back But she's worth it.
Have been busy this weekend, doing the general cleaning and washing. Have done great with my eating too, hope to see a loss on Weds, although I can't get to curves for my exercise due to commitments with work and school after my extra hours doing therapy. I will walk the dogs though, although they'll have to wait a few more hours than usual, so that will be something.
Our snow has all gone, it's just puddles all over now it's thawed. It's not exactly spring like out, but it's not frigid like last week either
Right, time to get in my nice flannel jammies and chill out for the evening. Have a great week everyone

Hi Girls,

Dragged hubby out kicking and screaming yesterday to go and buy beds for "HIS" guests he absolutely hates shopping and wanted me to go alone. I told him "I can't carry single and double beds on my own" and reminded him that it is HIS family who are visiting after all funny how when he has a good? idea to ask all his friends and family to visit us that it always means more work for me and makes no difference in his life at all anyway, we got all the beds and i even got taken out for lunch too so it worked out fine in the end

Kirsty, who are the pics of? i was mad because my computer won't let me click on them to see the full size pic they look lovely tho' sorry to hear that you are having such a tough time I was ga-ga trying to keep up with who's who of your family

Its a gorgeous day again all the daffs are out and the trees are budding, Spring is here! i'm just putting lots of seeds into seed trays, got a load of shasta daisies done because i know they are one thing that the deer won't eat i hate spending all that time nurturing plants only to go out one day and discover that the deer have had them for salad so i try to outwit them now and only grow stuff that they won't eat

Ooops, Chris i had no idea it was Mothers Day yesterday so no doubt we will be in the dog house for not sending a card in fact i'm surprised that MIL did not ring up to let us know what day it was ( because she usually does if we forget)

Well, i'll get back to my seeds

Cathy, glad to hear that spring has arrived there, it turned back to winter here last night and today, who am I kidding, spring didn't even arrive really, so we're still in winter mode! As for planting seeds, fat chance that would be here, the ground is still rock hard and I can't be faffed with seed trays. LOL at the deers eating your plants for their salad
Kirsty, I couldn't enlarge the pics here either, but they looked great for as much as I could make out luv.
Well done on all your walking the dogs eight times, walking is one of the best exercises they say. I walk every night with my two, usually do a mile and a half a night, sometimes more, depending on who is out and about because for some reason, Pen thinks she should bark and approach anyone else who is out when we walk, and although she's all mouth and no trousers, she would run like buggery if someone came toward her, cos she's a big chicken.
I walked late tonight cos my day didn't end until gone eight thirty as I had a school meeting to go to, have another long day tomorrow too, will leave the house at seven thirty in the morning and not get home until nine thirty-ish at night.......agh! Still I'll get paid so it'll be owrth it and it's only once a month that I have these two long days wjich always seem to be next to each other.
Have done well eating today, too busy to really Am now ready for my bed, ooo must dig out the TB thingy we get to say we had the immunisation at 13 in England, otherwise at the docs tomorrow they'll be givng me a test for it, and telling me I have it!
Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Hi Girls

I'm trying really hard to be good today and so far i think i'm alright but we'll see how it goes because me and hubby have had a row and he drove off in a huff this morning and the stupid bugger stoved in the front side of one of the cadillac's as he reversed i am so mad at him its an old car but i really love it we'll not get it fixed..not worth it..but its really annoying on a brighter note i went shopping yesterday and i've had my eye on a pair of tan leather boots at Walmart for the last couple of weeks..well..they went down from $60 to $29 to $19 so i grabbed a pair..made in Brazil and they are lovely so i got a bargain there at least.

I want a pair of lookalike UGG boots, but can I get any, NO! They are all sold out where anyone sells them at decent prices, so I guess I'll wait until next year
Sorry to hear about the car Cathy, give hubby a clip round the ear when he comes home for driving off in a huff...LOL
I had to go and have a physical today, for work, had a TB test, which of course is now showing positive seeing as we have our BCG when we're thirteen in the UK, have explained it to the docs and nurses, but I can almost guarantee come Thursday when I get the reading that they'll try to tell me I have raging TB, and need to be on tablets for six months! AGH!
Kirsty, you hate shopping? Why luv? I love shopping, for me at least, don't like food shopping though, hate it, hate it, hate it and hubby does that, bless him
Am keeping everything crossed to show a loss tomorrow, just read my food journal and have been an angel, so it should work I'll let you know in the morning. Night all.

Hi all, sorry to hear of youcar Cathy.

Chris, Ugg boots still seem to be about in the shops over here. I wonder how much postage you would have to pay mail order from the uk - lol.

I had a bad day yesterday. I am so annoyed as I have been really good for over 2 weeks. I was on training with work. The hotel was lovely but the buffet was limited to say the least. I had started my day on a green day and when we went for lunch the options were chicken drumsticks in BBQ sauce, chicken drumsticks in breadcrumbs, 2 types of pasties, sandwhiches and pizza.

I was relatively good considering. I had a chichken in BBQ and removed the skin and sauce, a tiny sandwhich which I took one bite out of an left and the smallest ever piece of pizza. Luckily I had taken a couple of apples with me.

Had a really bad evening (oh yes, I worked from 7:45am until 9:30pm yesterday) and when I got home I was really good with my dinner but was feeling so terrible that I did eat a marshmallow coconut thing too.

Feeling ill today - headachey, sickness etc (started yesterday evening)

Hope you feel better soon SW. Don't worry about yesterday, it doesn't sound too bad at all, and remember it was only one day and you could have chosen carefully like you did, OR you could have gone hungry and binged badly later OR you could have made a right piggy out of yourself, which you didn't Today is a new day.
The news is saying spring will feel springy today, a high of 56 degrees..brrrrr....I'm still going to be wearing my winter coat.
I have two extra therapy sessions to do this week after work, so it's going to be a long week. At least I can't eat while I'm there for another two hours in the day though
Everyone have a good day..I'm off to the weekly weigh in thread now
