congratulations....
if that isnt motivation i dont know what is....
my bf and i were talking about expense of weddings....
i think he may be coming around....
Thanks all. We have to discuss the details. It's always been a dream of mine to get married in Las Vegas & my fella doesn't want the big Church thing. We are so excited about the plans, however there are already a lot of disappointed relatives on both sides and I can feel the pressure. I'm entering the messy world of family politics and I'm not sure I'm liking it!
Lou,
Its your wedding day! Do it for you & your hubby!
You can have a small blessing when you come back from Vegas to appease the families, but utimatley its your day, so they will all have to deal with it.
Don't let the stress or emotional black mail get to you!
Show a united front with your hubby and both families will have to accept it.
Good luck & congrats again!

Aww, my hubby and I got married in Illinois in March 2006. We had just a Civil ceremony.
I would suggest having a big family reception. We had two halves to worry about as well. One set in the USA, the other in Britain XD Oh boy...
We eventually just had one big family get together in the USA and a small dinner for his side in the UK. Relatively cheap to get through, local barbeque at the park or a small rented hall with a nice buffet!
