Ahhh... the sun is shining and I feel perky and lively again.

I had a good 10.5 mile run last night. I seem to have cured the lack of energy problems with a good old fashioned remedy - porridge. I've always struggled with eating before evening runs - if I don't eat before it's too late when I get in from my run to eat after, if I do eat before I struggle to digest it in time, and if I eat the wrong thing I either completely run out of energy or get awful stomach cramps. Porridge is tried and tested on morning long runs so I thought I'd give it a go as a 5pm snack before running club and it worked wonders!

I did a sneaky little speed session on the treadmill this morning too in an attempt to remind my legs how to run fast before the big 10k on Sunday.

I'm interviewing today so I'm wearing my nice new size 10 suit. The worrying thing is that it's the smallest size that Long Tall Sally do, and it's not even that tight. I remember when I used to (literally) burst out of their biggest size - I have the ripped linings to prove it.

Also, today is my kind of 3 year anniversary. I actually joined the gym on 12 July 2004, but it was the Sport Relief thing on 10 July that gave me the push to do it, it just took me a couple of days to get my credit card up and sign my life away.

I find that LTS sizes are cut bigger than anywhere else... Not that that's any help for your self-esteem I have baggy size 14s from there.

I'm feeling fat and frumpy and depressed today. All things will pass though. Might go to the gym at lunch to see if it helps any.

Not doing much for my self esteem either Madam! Size 10 not tight indeed! Still, not as bad as when I waddled in New look at size 18+ to hear one of the sales assistants chatting to another saying "Well, I found the size 8 too big and sometimes size 6 is too big as well" Boohooo -poor little me. Ok it self afflicted (self abuse???) I really must sort meeself out. After the do at work tommorrow - (Pimms! Candy Floss! Stir fry! BBQ! Did I mention Pimms????!!!!)

Clothes shopping can be the worst thing for self esteem, especially when people round you are saying things like that. Its great though how New Look are doing those larger sized clothes, I really love shopping there, there's not enough shops that sell fashionable clothes in bigger sizes.

The problem is that they don't do anything smaller (or didn't last time I looked). I never thought that I'd fall out of the bottom end of a shops size range!

I'm feeling pretty good at the moment, I'm a size 18 now, and losing and I can finally look in the mirror at myself and have the confidence to see that I am pretty. I know things like having a haircut and wearing make up helps but I can see beauty in myself which is something I've not been able to see for a long time. It gives me the push to keep going.

I guess this is a mini success story for me.

Yeah, I'm loving my cheekbones, I spent ages looking at them in the mirror the other day and showing them off to my husband, who was really pleased that finally I can see good in myself. Bless him he's lovely.

It's a beautiful day and the sun's shining!
Just as I was getting to the point of looking forward to winter because I thought it might actually be drier!!

Shame I'm stuck in the office all day, but will get out for a walk this evening

Oh, and Asda has a 2 for £1 offer on avocados, so I'm still eating them
But honeydew melons are also high in potassium so I got one of those as a healthy option

Feel free to join in! I agree it's nice to have some sunshine.

I had an eventful day. I was interviewed for the radio (very dull - about data protection) this afternoon, so all my colleagues spent the day winding me up about my fan club.

Then I went for a run with running club. I ran 3 miles up there because it was nice weather, then planned to do about 7 with them. I was running along an uneven path looking for the turning (no-one else seemed to know the route so I ended up leading the group). There was a group of kids on bikes where we needed to turn, and between swerving round them and trying to change direction I managed to not look at the ground and tripped over a tree root. A wonderful place to go flying - right in front of the local chav kids! Anyway, I got up and carried on but decided to do the short route rather than the full version, so ended up doing 3.5 or so, for 6.5 in total.

Then because I finished early, I popped in on a cricket match work were playing against some clients. I wouldn't have gone out of my way to go to it, but it's only round the corner from my house. I missed the match but arrived in time to have beer and fish, chips and mushy peas. Considering I'd already eaten and I don't supposedly eat fish, that probably wasn't the best thing to end up doing...

Anyway, it's nearly time for bed so I suppose I'd better stop rambling on!
