  • Hello everyone

I am much better thank god. Thank you all for your kind words.

Hope we see some pictures of the dress at some point Clare we love a wedding here.

Conor's stuff is all ironed and packed. We have to be at Stansted for 8am tomorrow so it's an early start. Hubby and I are then going into London to buy some theatre tickets for my father we could get these on the internet but we decided to go up so we can mooch about.

I've had a huge dinner of roast spuds, honey glazed parsnips, peas, veggie sausages and veggie gravy. Followed by a yoghurt. My family had choccy cheesecake but I stuck to my lent promise. Oh and of course my weekend poached egg on toast this morning.

Ooooh I had another visit to Primark yesterday. I got four pairs of knickers for £4.00 just plain shorts and a green knitted tank top thingy with a white shirt attached to it underneath I am sure you know the kind of thing, bought my boys some bits also. I've also had my hair cut kind of bobbed this time. It had grown into a bit of a helmet!!

Anyway enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone and take good care.

    Michele

  • Hello all!

Glad you're feeling better michelle! Clareh we really do need to see some wedding pics

Helen - you're a superstar and that super-fast half marathon will have more than made up for dinner

Well I'm trying something a bit different. Intuitive eating. Sounds silly, but you eat when you're hungry and not when you're not! And so far it seems to be working, however I think I ate a little bit too much yesterday and I ate a few wrong things like white ciabatta with mozzarella (it was a bit grim and squidgy) and some flapjacky thing in M&S while I was waiting for DH to try on about 10 pairs of trousers! I swear that boy takes longer to get ready than I do! We had our weekend pizza, which was luvverly and I didn't feel overly stuffed so I think that's a good thing. I was also not too hungry for brekky so I had a healthy muffin I made (I will post recipe in recipe thread in a mo) with light philly and half a melon. I think I'm set till lunchtime now!

I'm doing ok with my lent thing too - no chocolate has passed my lips so far But I did buy some marshmallows yesterday since I like a bit of a treat in the evenings, so I might stretch the packet out till, ooooh Tuesday

I did some groundwork on Saturday in kickboxing - basically rolling around on the floor, which was lots of fun! Then on Sunday we went to Brent Cross It's hideous over there!!!! We walked from the main shopping centre to Tesco and I was so depressed - you had to walk over these horrible concrete walkways and right beside the North Circular traffic and it was sooooo noisy!

My knee is lots better - I can do a little runny thing!!! Well I ran for the bus! And I walked round Brent Cross without too much bother at all. I've got some Deep Freeze for it that is probably going to help a lot too (I've used it on my sore shoulders from all the groundwork!) and I'll keep "icing" my knee for a while when I get back into working out.

I'm going back to the gym today and I've got a HUGE weights workout to do! We'll see how it goes!!
  • Hope the workout goes well and your knee holds out.
  • I had a fantastic workout!

Knee seems to be in one piece - although I substituted my usual machine-cardio for rolling-around-on-the-floor-getting-funny-looks-cardio! I decided forward, backward, shoulder rolls and sideways flips and headstands were the way forward for some cardio!
  • Michelle- I love primark!! I redid my bedroom with their duvet set for £13. You can't even get 2 glasses of wine where I live for £13.

2frus- I love the sound of intuitive eating. However, my body seems to want bad things!! Either that or my weak will overpowers my body. I'm doing OK on structured calorie counting and getting there slow and steady, bit without a framework I'm all over the place! Great news about the knee.

There might be the odd wedding dress pic......... I'm a bit scared as I'm taking my Mum and 3 of the 4 bridesmaids to see it, and they will have obviously never seen me in anything like that before. I'm apprehensive that they will say I'm too old/ look like jordan (and not in a good way!) or fat or short. However, I'll know by mid March whether it's the one for me.

I have a cold as well, which makes the world a BAD place (I have had to skip running as I couldn't face it). I'm just going for a little sleep before a prawn stir fry with lots of lovely green stuff.

    Have a good evening everyone.

Yep that's me. If I listened to my body I'd be heavier than I am now that's for sure!
  • My body wants the good stuff, it's my mind I have to watch

Just a short run tonight, I got well and truly stuffed in the time trial running order after winning it last time so I came almost last this time. Never mind, at least it was a short one after yesterday.

We definitely need wedding dress pics
  • Oh, I'm so easily led (that's why the intuitive eating surely wouldn't work)

    Here's the dress......

    Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

Have you bought it yet? Have you decided on what the bridesmaids are wearing?

Welcome Claire, tell us a bit about yourself.
  • Quote: My body wants the good stuff, it's my mind I have to watch
EXACTLY! My body wants to eat protein and stuff but my mind speaks to me and says, "You can eat anything you want now... How about a doughnut?" And I say, "NO, bad mind, get out! I will spank you with a 20kg weight plate!" Just see my blog for yesterday's dilemma!

Clareh - that's one fancy dress, very silky! YUM YUM!

Hi Claire, welcome to the nut house!

So yeah, so far intuitive eating is going ok. I'm not 100% bothered if I don't lose too much at the moment since I'm just getting started with it and I'm training quite hard and I'm fairly happy with where I am body wise so I think there's room for experimentation. I was starving yesterday - I think this new intense weight training thing I've got going is doing it. So I ate 2 ryvitas with philly when I got home at 8pm since I'd eaten a fruit bar thing AND some of those Nairn's sweet oatcakes before kickboxing. So I didn't think I was very hungry, but an hour later I was chewing my arm off so I had an egg on toast. Then of course since I ate at 9.30pm and went to sleep at about 10pm I wasn't very hungry this morning, so I made a protein shake and only drank half! I brought the rest to work! It's very odd not having meals because you're not hungry. Tonight should be interesting too. DH and I are going to the theatre and we'll usually get a sandwich or something beforehand, so I think that might work out ok. I know I probably won't be hungry enough to eat out.

So yes, it's all mad, but it's working out ok I think. I expected a huge gain on the scales this morning because of my weights yesterday but it doesn't seem to have happened, unless I have gained water weight and lost some other weight

I managed to juggle my little kickboxers quite effectively last night. I had one small child teach the newbies while I went round and sorted out the kids doing their gradings. I swear it's MAD, but at least I'm not getting bad money at the moment since there's quite a few coming now.
  • Glad you are okay Miche

Not surprising you have had anxiety/panic attacks - you have a lot on your plate with your Dad's illness and your Mum Schizophrenia.

Lucky Connor! I loved Barcelona! Especially the Gaudi stuff and the food market. Puts our markets to shame.

It sounds like Sarah will have to do a big shop in Devon after what she said about the other woman's order.
