Good morning all. I would like to report that I am a new member of Tops.
I joined last night. I found the meeting to have insentive, encouragement, and cost was great. So since I was up early, I thought I would start this.
My weight was a few more than I expected, but my husband put that into perspective, letting me know it wasn't the same scale as at home. He seems to be very encouraging. He's even eating more veggies. This is a man when we first got together would only eat carrots, and green beens, and salad once in awhile. I'm looking forward to tops, because I've lost weight before and basically know what I have to do, I just have to put my mind to it. I hope that everyone had a great Monday yesterday, and take care.

Wendy ,you will really enjoy TOPS
I was missing yesterday as I think I had food poisoning and spent most of Sunday night and Monday morning with head hung over toilet.Was great for diet but I was soooooo sick.Thought I was going to have to kiss my new job that I have not even started goodbye.But woman said she understood and I could start training next week.Not exactly starting out very good.
Hope to be able to do our walk tonight.
We are going to do a benefit walk in April and distance I will have to walk is closer to 1 1/2 miles + total.Instead of a mile.Because after you do the mile you are long way from where you pick up your shirt and even farther to your vehicle. I did do 1.4 miles Sunday night but I was totally wiped.Cold drink and gulf breezes revived me.Should be interesting.
Have been busy getting a bunch of TOPS stuff done for new Leader.Once I get her started out then I slide into the back ground and just do my weight recorder stuff.

Hi Everyone! I am back on track as of yesterday! Last night I did endulge in some junk food but controlled it. I had to go to the dr. yesterday and he was very concerned about my weight (obestrican) and my blood pressure. He was very excited that I had lost 12 pounds since 4 months ago. It made me feel better And my blood pressure is down

Wendy ~ Congrats on joining TOPS. You are going to love it! Congrats on decided to change your way of eating and way of life! We are here for you

Eleni ~ How are you? That is horrible you were so sick and esp. on your first day of work I hope you are doing better now. Congrats on keeping that walking going! Keep it up

Where is everyone else??? How are yoU???

Wendy, it is great you had a good first time at TOPS. It helps to enjoy this process since it sure can be a drag at times. It seems like anyone that joins TOPS is a great person. You are lucky to have an encouraging hubby. Here's to a great frist day for you.

Eleni, sorry to see you were so sick. Do you have any idea what you ate to cause that. I am glad they were understanding and you can still start next week. Don't forget to eat gental food today.

Penny, glad to hear you doc was happy with your lose, he should be. Those numbers thrill me when I get my BP checked, when they are good that is. I just hated when the doc told me I would have to take meds for it. I had been lucky for years to not have any health issues with my weight but guess it does catch up to us.

This morning is my meeting. I always enjoy Tuesday morning. We go out for breakfast after the morning. We always watch what each other eat. Only a few more weeks and I will take on the leader job, I am getting a little nervous. I guess there must be some kind of booklet to say what exactly a leader does?

Wendy, welcome to the group!!!

Eleni, sorry you aren't feeling well. But it one way to not eat anything for 24 hours or so!!! (trying to put a semi positive spin on it!!)

Twinkle, I start as leader of my group in a few weeks too. I am hoping to get the leader book from our current leader tomorrow so that I can start some planning. I already have some ideas but I have to sit down and get them onto paper and see what they look like there. I am not really nervous as nuch as excited. My group is so supportive and they know that there will be a couple of weeks of adjustment on all our parts. We are getting ready for our awards night too. Looking forward to that at the end of the month.

I had a good day yesterday. The only thing I lacked on was fruit and I plan to make up for that today.

I knew it would be bad but was way bad, I gained 3 pounds. They got me rattled today by giving me a bunch of papers to send off saying I was Leader now. I said I thought it would not start until the first week of April. I think one lady was just trying to get out of any more work, good try, I guess. So I am planning out things for tomorrow and will get back to my journal.

Afternoon everyone and Welcome Wendy. I weighed in today and was down 1.5# but both my hubby and my birthdays were last week and we had family dinners and all - great excuses eh? but I was great yesterday and so far today. I had a chicken salad sandwich for lunch - the ladies all go out after the meeting but I am having veg. soup for dinner so I am going to end up well within my points.

Oooh sorry to hear about the food poisoning Eleni. that is awful but I am glad your new company is understanding. Drink lots of water to flush out your system.

Don't worry Twinklestar you will have that weight off by next week and maybe some more. Just do the programme one day at a time...

Hi Everyone,

How is everyone doing tonight? I am doing great. I stayed on plan for yet another day. I am so happy with myself. I got on the scale today and it is down 3 lbs. So that means that I will have a loss this week. I don't know how much. My scale is different then theirs.

Donna,

Congrats on the loss. That is great even with the parties and all. Keep up the great work. Glad to hear that you are back on track. Isn't it a great feeling? I think so. That is how I feel now that I am back on track.

Twinklestar,

Don't worry about the gain you had this week. Just remember to always look ahead and not back. Don't worry about being leader. You are supposed to start April 1 but it does sound like they are pushing it off onto you early because they don't want to do it themselves. But you will make a great leader. There is a program book that the chapter has that you can get some great ideas from for programs. I started going through ours. They should all be the same. There are so many ideas in there. Just take it page by page and pick out the ones that you like and think that others will like. There are enough program and contest ideas in there to last the whole year. That way you don't have to come up with ideas out of the blue. Having a theme for each month is a great idea. That is what I started planning for our group. I just didn't get a chance to use the idea. There are contests for each month to go along with the themes that you make up also. Then you can have a program that pertains to that theme for each week of the month. Don't worry there are enough people here to help you with ideas including me.LOL

Glad to hear that you are back on track. See that didn't take you long to return to your journey once you set your mind to it. That is great that your doctor is happy about your loss. They always want us to lose weight. I think I could be 100 lbs and they would still say I need to lose weight.LOL But you are doing great and you should be very proud of how far you have come. You are doing great. You will have another loss next week also now that you are back on track.

Sorry to hear about the food poisening. How are you feeling today? Better I hope. That is too bad that it came at this time. That is very good about your job though that they are understanding. If they didn't understand then they wouldn't be a very good company to work for anyway. Just think you will start fresh next week with your training.
Don't worry that the benefit walk is farther then you thought. You will make it. You are doing a great job at your walking. Each day you make it a little further. Keep up the hard work. Then when the walk gets here you will see that you won't have any trouble completing it. You won't be last this year.LOL I am so proud of you for sticking with it. I know you can do this. You have what it takes. You are getting healthier everyday that you keep walking. It is good for your heart.

Welcome to TOPS and the board. So glad that you joined us. It is nice to have new members. You will do great. Don't worry about the weigh in. The first one is always the shocker. But just think next week when you weigh in you will have your first loss. That will make you feel great. Everyday you are getting closer to your goal. Stick with us and we will all make it to our goals together.
