Default Good morning

I hope all is going well- Summer our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Eleni-you are such a good friend
Sherri-how is it going.
Christie, cc, coco, bev, Mickey- I hope you are having or going to have a great day.
Brandon's fever is back, and he is getting sick to his stomach. He's been up since three. He did eat some cereal. Not much. I think most of the problem is drainage. But I can't explain the fever. The motrin I gave him, didn't stay down. I'm home from work again. This one probably will get me in trouble. Gotta fill out the family leave act papers just incase, or I should say (cover my behind). Now if I can just remember where I put them. I had mcdonalds last night, and I kinda felt like it was no big deal. It has been about 2 months since I ate there, I can hold off another 2 months or more. Other than that not much going on. I figure once I get him to the doctor, I would come home and work on some stuff. Well it's off to check my mail. You ladies have a great day, Remember every step we take get's us one step closer to where we want to be.
( I should of thought of that one last night)
later

Default Good Morning

Good Morning Everyone
Just thought I would check in for a few. I weighed in last night. I lost 1 1/4 lbs. Hubby stayed the same. So I was happy about that.
Shortstack When you ate at McDonalds last night. Did you notice. Did it taste as good last night as it did 2 months ago? I have been noticing. That when I eat at McDonalds or Burger King. That the food doesnt taste as good as it use too. So in away it doesn't bother me too much. Once in awhile I think I would like Mcdonalds fries. I will get a small order. But I cant eat them all. They just taste too greasey. But don't beat yourself up for eating at Mcdonalds. Just get back on track today.

Sherri boy you got some great ideas. Your group will be glad to have you as co-leader. But then they will wish they had voted you for leader. Your go girl. I love your ideas. Will check out the sites you have listed. But will do that later today.

We had 2 new ladies join our group last night. The one lady I guess she had been a member several years ago. But she came back last night. The other lady has never been in TOPS. But the only thing is she has so far to drive. I think she has a little over a hour drive. We are making plans to sell pepperoni rolls. That is our fund raiser. We are doing them next month. Then they are suppose to be gettng ready for the spring banquet. Not sure what they are doing this year. For last years it was a hawiian theme. So we will see.

To everyone else hope everyone is feeling better. And our board is just awesome. With all the "losers" we have. All the leaders, co-leaders ect. It is just wonderful. Just image if we could all get together. What a wonderful TOPS group we would have.
Everyone have a good over the hump day. Take care!! Take time and stop and smell the flowers or listen to the birds sing.

A TOPS PAL

Good Morning Everyone,

Sherri....I meant to tell you yesterday that we are trying one of the contests from the TOPS site. I had copied some of them several weeks ago. The one we decided on was the fortune cookie. They put some motivational sayings in the paper baking cups and stapled them together. When someone has a gain, they have to take one and at roll call they read it. It is very good. I love those motivational sayings and I think that it helps others. Then if that person loses next week, her name is put into a box for a drawing later. I feel like we should continue reading these, even after the contest is over.

Wendy... I hope that Brandon feels better soon. I know what a worry it is when our children are sick. Mine are grown now, but I remember what it was like.

CC...Hope you are feeling better. I liked the idea of Kops "staying the same". It sounds like it would not be that easy to do. However, we did have one Kops that turtled for thirty some weeks in a row a few years ago. She deserved an award for that.

Coco..An hour drive is a long way, but sometimes it worth it to be at a place that can help you lose weight. One of our members moved to Daytona Beach a couple of years ago and still comes back to weigh in. She says that its about 50 miles to drive.
The Pepperoni rolls sound good. Hope the sale is a great success.

Hello to everyone else and I hope you are all having a good OP day.
My motivational thought for the day is:
Don't give up what you want most...for what you want at the moment.

Wendy,

Don't beat yourself up over the mcdonalds. You ate it and that was that. For skinny people they never have to worry about what they eat and sometimes it just isn't fair that we beat ourself up so bad about a meal. Let it go. Like you said it was the first time in 2 months. So I think that is a great improvement. You are making great changes in your life. Keep moving forward and you will reach your goal.
How is brandon doing? Is he getting any better. Let me know what the doctor says. Did you find your paperwork?

Coco,

What is the banquet all about that you guys have? I have never heard of it. Maybe that is something we can consider doing for our chapter.
Congratulations on your loss this week. I knew you would have a loss. You are doing great. I am so proud of you for not giving up through the tough times. I know they are not easy and we all have them from time to time. But you are doing excellent and I want you to know that. All of your hard work is paying off. You will be to goal someday also. But remember anything worth having requires a lot of determination and hard work. You have both qualities and I know you will make it.
Do you guys make the pepperoni rolls yourself? Where do you sell them at? Do you sit in front of a store and sell them or do you take orders for them?
Sounds like your chapter is really starting to grow. That is great. I am hoping to get more members this year for our chapter. I want to have a tops referral program this year. Where as if you bring a guest one night your receive an award or charm. Also if you sign up a new member then you receive an award. Maybe it would be a way of encouraging members to bring in others.
You have a great day and continue the great work.

Nita,

Was it hard to make the fortune cookies. I passed on the idea because I thought it would be hard to make them.LOL I am not too crafty. But sounds like it is really working. That is great. How many cookies did you make? Will you wait until everyone in the chapter has a loss before you have the drawing? How are you determining when you will draw?

I picked up a gift certificate today from one of the hotels for 1 free night with complimentary breakfast for 2 at the resteraunt there. It expires at the end of the year so we will have to figure out when we are going to be giving it away and for what reason. There is a lady there that I got started on the SB plan. She has been losing everyweek since then and before that. I think she said that she only has 10 lbs to go to goal. She is not very big. I was thinking of giving it to her as an accomplishment for reaching KOPS status. I think she would love it. I have to find out for sure how much she has to lose though. Then I will discuss it with the leader. I also stopped in to a video store in town today and asked if we could get a free movie rental pass. He gave me 2 that are worth $3.00 each. So that was great. He said this is a yearly thing? I said yes. So now I know we can go back again next year to get some more.
I am going to tell the winners of these great gifts that they should drop these people a note of thanks for supporting our group. They should write to the place that provided their gift certificate and tell them what it meant to them to receive it. That way the businesses will know that they really helped someone and that they are appreciated.

I am having a good day today. I am going to a bowling Bday party tonight. There is going to be pizza and cake there. I will have a huge salad before I go and then have 1 slice of pizza and no cake. So I am setting myself up for this so I should be able to go through with it and not have more.LOL I will do it.

Nita I loved your motivational saying. Where did you get the motivational sayings that you put in the cookies. I would like a copy of the sayings if you could email them to me.

[email protected]

Thanks,

Eleni,

Have you done good staying away from the buffets this week? I did. We went shopping after class today and she got a new bathing suit. Then came home and had lunch. This is working out much better then I am not tempted with all that food. Megan wanted to go to the buffet today but I said no we went shopping instead. So I can see it will take awhile to break her of that habit.LOL

You all have a great op day and keep your heads held high.

Summer,

How is melissa doing? At least she is at the hospital so that they can help her. I am sure you are worried to death girl. Hang in there she will be fine. I am saying a prayer for you both.

Sherri,

The fortune cookies were easy to make. My daughter -in-law made them and she is not crafty. Buy the paper cups that you bake cup cakes in, fold them in half, cut out the sayings and put one in the cup and staple it together. The thing I like about it is that the person stands up to tell their gain, then reads the motivational saying and everyone is interested in what the saying is, some were even asked to read it again. I think they are going to keep it going for about a month. Remember that the person has to have a loss the next week to get their name entered in the drawing. We have very few member that can go a month without gaining, and they usually win most of the contest. This gives the gainers a reason to lose. And it is different. We get tired of all the usual things like, exercise, drinking water, etc.
I'll send you a copy of the list that I have. My DIL is going to come up with more.
