Default Good Morning

Good Morning everybody
Hope everyone had a good evening. Didn't do much. A group of us went to a resthome and visited patients there. They do enjoy that. So wasn't in the house to eat. That is good for me. Tonight is my weigh in night. Not sure how I will do. But I will let you know. I haven't been on the treadmill yet. Hubby still in bed. So will wait until he gets up. We are going to a senior citizen center today. They are having doing a quilt. I have been wanting to learn to quilt. And one of the ladies that is doing the quilting called and said I could come and see how they do this. My hubby is going to go too. Said he wants to learn. Growing up my hubby's Dad would knot quilts. So he knows how to do that. But I want to learn to piece and quilt. The hole nine yards. So this will be interesting. Well I better get off here for now. You girls have a good day. Thanks for listening.

Hi there Cocoa:

I would like to try quilting too - but, haven't taken the steps to learn so far. I have done watercolour painting, pottery (both hand building and wheel work), own my own kiln, but not doing it again. Maybe quilting's too exacting for me - and .....

Am going to a TOPS orientation at our senior centre tomorrow, with a view to them opening a branch there, understand there's a lot of interest in our group.....just don't want to have to be on a "board", have done that too many times in my life - and don't want more responsibility that I have now (husband recovering in a walking, from foot surgery, daughter with a bad diagnosis - that we're all in denial about). Just want to be part of a weight loss group that's serious. Would like that.

Good luck on your weigh-in.

Hello Ladies!

It is my weigh in day today and I KNOW I had a loss. Seven lbs. by my scale, I think I may weigh in with a couple rolls of quarters in my pocket, our weight recorder is gonna tear my head off. (nicely, of course! She is the sweetest lady.)

I only got a little time on the treadmill but I did do Pilate’s for lower body and weight trained upper body yesterday.
I just started the Pilate’s and I must say I love it! I think I may sign up for a beginner Yoga class.

Dodielynn
My house is clean! My house is clean! Yahoo! I thought of you as I put some vanilla oil in my burner. Life is funny, when I worked full time I couldn’t wait for the weekend to clean up my home. Now I let most things slide on the weekend so I can enjoy my family but I can’t wait for the weekend to end so I can relax! LOL! But I do love this housewife stuff.

Are you in Corpus Christie? My brother designed some tow apparatus and electrical systems upgrades for some big tug boat outfit down there. He loved Texas.

Donna,
I am with you, I do not care for fruit all that much, strawberries, and melons and OJ are my limit. I do love my veggies though. You do Yoga! Is it fun? Are you all relaxed and centered when you leave class? I am thinking of signing up for a new class as I enjoy being around other people and it would force me to leave the house. So far Yoga is at the top of my list. I would like a morning Aqua Fit but they all start before my little one leaves for school.

Faith,
How where your test results? You would get along famously with my son. He played High School football and now plays Men’s rugby, and is a total football fanatic.

Sherri,
I can’t throw out the cookies, they are a gift to my husband from Holland. I would be in so much trouble if those cookies went AWOL! Glad you are doing so well, it is great to see you so upbeat and proud of yourself! I am very proud of you too! WAY TO GO, SUPERGIRL!

Summer,
I have a weigh in question for you. Can I wear a different outfit to weigh in? I am worried that this loss is a huge fluke or cosmic joke and 3 of those pounds will be back next week. Would this be cheating? Or should I just take my lumps?

Way to go with the bike. I don’t know how you accomplish so much, don’t be so hard on yourself, it is not so much about getting to goal but what you learn along the way! And you definitely know stuff, girlfriend!

Here is a good jolt of
{{{{{{{{Beautiful Summer’s shining on stage vibes!}}}}}}}}}
Can you feel those?

Coco
It is so cool that your hubby is willing to learn how to quilt! You sound like you are right on track too, good job!

Kermie,
Quilting's too exacting for me, straight lines and gathering is the extent of my sewing ability! I love to paint, do mostly acrylic now, started with watercolor but I am too impatient so I switched. No coordination for pottery either, to me that is a real artisan skill.

Christie,
I could not find any real nutritional breakdown in SB but I found this on a pro bodybuilding site:
Protein requirements 80kg x 2g = 160g per day /
Carb requirements 80kg x 3g = 240g per day /
This would give you 1200 calories of “pure food” plus whatever your fat intake is for the day.(at 80 kg)
Does this sound about right?

Well, spent way to much time here! Have a great day everyone!

Hello Ladies,

Haven't done the bike yet, but will do so after most of the people that work with DD are gone. I hate not having my home to myself!! Love those weekends. Actually, I'm less stressed on weekends so eating for me is better then......but during the week....YIKES!!!!!

I would love to know how to quilt, knit or crochet. Something to do with the hands would help the old eating habits too.

CC, In regards to what you wear to weigh in......the rule of thumb is that it would be something you would wear out in public. No bra and panties only. Not fair to others that weigh in in 'clothes'. I know a lot of our members wear the same thing everyweek so they have a better idea of how they are doing. Some will wear shorts all winter and others light weight pants.

Ooh, gotta go get DD on her therapy ball. {{{{{{VIBERS}}}}}}} to all!!!!

TOPS Hugs, Summer

Christie,

I am so glad you are back from germany girl. That is great to hear. I missed you. Glad you are doing good on plan today to. I messed up this morning though and used regular sugar without thinking about it. I was on the phone with the adult home for unc and I did it. So what I did was put a note on the canister with a sign saying sherri don't use this sugar. That way it will bring my attention to it so I remember to use the equal. But other then that I stuck with the SB all day. I am at 20 pts for the day. So I will have some popcorn later to make it to the min points for the day. I hope I have a loss. I have been really working at it. Tomorrow is the buffet day. I am back to fruit and salad. But I guess I can have some meatloaf if I wanted and that would be on plan to. But we will see. The problem with that is once I dive into that I know I will be into the other stuff. So I better stick with the salad and fruit. I can handle that for sure.

Summer,

I sure hope you find yourself soon. How are you doing on the scales? I am glad to hear you are back on the bike again. I know you were doing great when you were riding it before. Spend time for you and find yourself again and that will help you get back on track. Stay strong girl you can do this. You said you can.

CC,

I think that is great your scale is down that much from the SB. But listen to this girl. You should weigh in in what you normally where. For a couple of reasons. First off you deserve to have the loss that you worked hard for all week no matter how big. If some of it is water then that is okay because for what you are losing you will still have a loss next week. So don't worry about it. The higher the loss on your scale the closer you get to goal. You have really come a long way this week with controlling your eating and with all that exercise, you are a superwoman. Not me. Okay don't throw out the cookies. But remember you are a much better and stronger person for not eating them. Resist temptation. Just think even though you have eaten the cookies your scale is still down. So see moderation in all we eat. You can have one just not the whole box. Plus I forgot to metion that your scale is going to be different then the TOPS scale so you might not have as big a loss on their scale. I wouldn't try to hide what I lost. I would be shouting it from the rooftops. Be proud of what you did this week to accomplish that. Go in there with your head up. Don't worry about the ones that are jealous of you. They need to try harder and that is not your job to make them try. They have to do it for themselves.

Kermie,

So how many people would you have in this new group? You have to remember that even if you start a new group someone has to have the role of the different positions like leader etc.. If you like the group you are in then there isn't anything that says you have to hold office. If you are selected to run you can deny the position if you want. They can't make you run. But if like you say they are not serious then that is a problem to. But in all groups you have the serious ones and the ones that are there for the social part of it. I don't think there is any way to avoid that. Sounds like you have a lot going on within your family there. Remember to take time out for you. Sorry your daughter got a bad diagnosis. What is wrong with her? You don't have to say if you don't want to. It won't be long and your husband will be chasing you around the house again.LOL Hang in there and we are here for you.

Mickey,

So did you have a better day today on plan? I know you messed up yesterday. Today was a new day for you to Start over. Let us know how you did.

Coco99,

Hey CoCo. That is great that you are going to get a chance to do what you have always wanted to do. I hope you enjoy it. Do you go to the home often to visit? Is there someone in there that you know? I know they love visitors. It is going to be nice to share a hobby with your husband. That is great you can do it together. Quilting wouldn't be for me. I did make a quilt once with the squares and I still haven't tied it together yet. It is the only thing I have left to do. My sister in law showed me how to do it. I sewed the whole thing by myself. It is really pretty but I have to finish it. I made it like almost 4 years ago now. I will finish it someday. Keep up the great work.

Well I am enjoying my new job taking care of the older couple. It is less hours only around 8 hours a week and I am making a whole lot more then the other job. My husband almost has me convinced to quit the other job. But I am not sure. I am afraid that once this job is done when they pass on or anything else then what would I do. I know I could spend more time with megan if I did only this job but I hate to give up the other job. I like that one to. But I haven't done any work at that job this week yet. I have been too busy between my husbands uncle and this new job and dealing with trying to help my husbands mom today. With no luck. So hopefully tomorrow afternoon I can do something with that job. We will see what happens.

Have a great night everyone. I only got to exercise 1 day this week. That isn't good. I have to be at the older couples house at 8am tomorrow so I can get done to take my daughter to her gymnastics class at 11am. Then we do lunch at the buffet. Then home again.

Talk to you soon.

Sherri

Angry WEIGHED IN TONIGHT

Good Evening everybody.

We went to and weighed in tonight. Guess what? I finally had a loss. I lost 2 1/4 lbs. Hubby gained 1/4. So I guess not eating after 6:00 pm this week has helped. I did do the treadmill this morn. But I didn't do it very long. I only walked 8 minutes. And only did .27 of a mile. I was huffin and a puffin. But at least my knee didn't bother to much today. I want to thank all you girls with (for) the encourgement also. It has really helped me. Well I hope everyone has a good evening.
