Default Sunday

Hello everyone,
As you can see we now have a new challenge going. Some of you need to edit your results on the Dec challenge. Only if you want to. When I put my final up no one had made their goal but no one had a huge gain either. So that was good. It is a new year coming and we can do nothing about yesterday but we can try harder in the coming weeks. We have not tried as hard as we should have or we would have losses. We gain because we eat too much or eat wrong foods. Unless we are taking meds that make us gain we can only point the finger at ourselves. Granted it is harder for some because of various reasons. Stress, illness in family,no family support, sabotage by friends and loved ones etc. so we each have to come up with a good alternative.
I know we can all do this. And we do have a strong support system here. Better than some of us have at our own chapters.
So lets all look forward to a brighter and lighter new year.

Also --If you have not gotten your yearly physical and mammogram. Please do .It does save lives. I lost a friend a few years ago to cancer who died needlessly. A yearly exam would have saved her life but she never had them.

I am trying to get all the Christmas stuff packed up. I got a lot done yesterday. I have another long weekend so I want to finish it so i am foot losse and fancy free the next two days.
Time to go to stores and spend my gift certificates i got.

Hope you are having a great weekend

Hi all!

Eleni, you are WAY ahead of me on getting the Christmas stuff packed away. I just walk through the living room, look at the tree, sigh, and keep going.

We have to move in the next 30 days so THAT will be fun -- NOT. We plan to dump about 75% of the stuff we have, because that's exactly what it is -- stuff. A cluttered house indicates a cluttered mind and life. DH and I would prefer more space to stuff. I have several obese friends who would love to get their little paws on my clothes as I shrink out of them. After this challenge, I should be able to oblige them

Eleni, you are an inspiration. No matter how many times you get flattened, you get back up and keep trying. I admire that.

Have a great day!

Eleni

Thanks for once again being right on the mark! I know that I did not reach my goal because I really did not focus on losing weight. I tend to make excuses, but they are sorta lame, because if 'IT IS TO BE, IT'S UP TO ME'.

Our chapter is taking a tip from the latest TOPS News article about the chapter that pledged to lose 100 pounds in 100 days! We have desided that starting with the first weigh in we will lose at least 100 pounds and hopefully more, in 100 days.

I have started already even though we have been out to eat with friends twice since Thursday (weigh-in day) and we still have our anniversary to go. I really watched what I ordered.

This will be short today but I wanted to check in and wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Will try to check in each day, that keeps me on my toes!

Thumbs down

Eleni, Thanks for all the HONEST words. You are so right with everything you said. I can only point the finger back at me. I joined the challange thread.....thanks for getting it going.

Claire, I don't envy your move, but I think that is the only way I would get rid of most of my clutter. My hubby likes to bring things home that have been 'abandoned'!

Mickey, Good Luck to your chapter on the 100# pledge. Any special thing you folks might do if you succeed??? That could be something fun to strive for.

I have been doing better. Rode my bike 6 miles Sat and went for a 35 minute walk with another TOPS member Sun. We walked in the cemetary so we wouldn't slip on the slick roads but not seeing the unevenness of the dirt road under the snow was also a workout for the legs. We were very surprised at how shakey our legs were when we got back on the flat pavement. Hubby is home tomorrow so I would like to do it again after I run some errands.

To everyone of my fellow TOPS pals here on this board, have a safe New Years Eve and Day. Thought I would get that in, in case I don't make it back here tomorrow. Let's start this WONDERFUL New Beginning to HEALTHIER lifestyles.

TOPS Hugs,
Summer
