Default Get serious?

The holidays are about over. In a few days we will be finished with the parties, family get-togethers, and will have gotten rid of all the rich fattening stuff in the house. It is time to get serious and start the new year out with a song.
You probably know that TOPS theme for the next two years is "Make Your Own Kind of Music". So lets start the new year off by making our own kind of music. We are all trying to lose weight, by different methods. It doesn't matter how you go about it, as long as it is sensible. But lets gets serious and just do it.
Think about why you joined TOPS. Was it to lose weight for some special occassion, to look and feel better in your clothes, for health reasons? We all have different reasons to want to lose weight. But the main reason is for health. We are only given this one body, so we should take care of it!
And what better time to start thinking about that than right now?
We all make resolutions each year. And they are probably pretty much the same ones every Jan. But this year, don't make resolutions to lose weight, make a plan, and a reasonable one, not to lose 20 pounds by Feb. 1. Set a realistic goal, and when you have reached that goal, set another one. One step at a time and soon you will be at your ultimate goal.
I need support and I'm sure you all do too. Let's get this site active again and offer support and encouragement. (I have not been active for awhile, but I promise that I will be here for you if you need a good word to get you through the day.)
Let's make our own kind of music and sit back and see how beautiful it sounds when it all comes together!
TOPS Hugs to all!
Wanda

Default Welcome!

I'm glad you are working to get outside support. A good TOPS group can be a great help. I hope you fine a good group and continue on your weight loss journey. It sounds like you have a good plan already, and are doing well on it. But outside encouragement and motivational assistance can help on those days that you feel down. Just keep it up and you will soon reach your ultimate goal. Please come back and let us know how you are doing.
Have you joined the Valentine's Day Challange? That might be a good motivator.

I haven't joined any challenge as of yet ... so far I have been working on recruiting some young over weight adults to join in with this rewarding fight. They range in ages from 19 to 17 and I pray that they will join in with me , I even have my daughter-in-law wanting to join with me.

Wink Jan update

Well, 2 days into sensible eating after the holidays. How's everyone doing? I made turkey soup out of the left-over turkey and have been having that for supper. Lunch was a salad with vinegerette yesterday and pork chops with vegies and green beans today. Walked 5 miles at lunch. . The weather here has been gorgeous....in the 50s and NO SNOW yet. I walked along the Erie Canal (near my work) and saw ducks and sea gulls living it up. It was hard to go back in to work
