Default the good and the bad

Morning ladies. Well i wanted something different for breakfast. Made a quiche and told myself i would eat one small peice of quiche and have some fruit. Well, unfortunately, i had 2 pieces of quiche and then nibbled a few extra bites even after that....as if the guilt to two peices of fattening quiche arent enough...here lets go back and graze another couple of bites. I was SO disappointed in myself. I was even more irritated when i went to fit day and saw that ONE peice was 570 calories...holy moly...and to think i had TWO.

Well, i picked myself up from my pitty party and trucked it over to the gym. Worked out for an hour...thinking i would feel better. Now i dont really feel so guilty...since i worked out so hard, but apparently that guilt has turned into a fussy disposition, plus i dont feel energized and ready to take on the world like i normally do after the gym. I feel tired, depleted, and angry...what is up with that? Maybe too much fat for breakfast is weighting me down and making me tired...but you would think all that protien and exercise would give me some energy.

So apparently it is going to be a VERY light lunch and dinner considering i have already eaten 3/4 of my daily calories. No more quiches for me...gee whiz.

Jelynn-Hope you had a good night out with the girls.

Jtammy-That is great you got a day off with you kids. Yeah, mine had the whole week off. Let me tell you...i am ready for school to start back. Good job on the scales showing you some love.

Robbin- Congrats on the scale victory. Stay strong for the weekend...the weekends kill me too.

Ok, out to the back porch with fresh cup of coffee...hoping to find myself a better attitude out there.

Talking Happy Saturday!

Stacy, if we didn't have these days to remind us how badly we want this then I think a lot of us would have failed a long time ago. You did the best thing you could do, was go work out hard. Give yourself some credit girl. You didn't wallow in it, like I probably would of, you made the best out of the day you had. I'd say good job!! And I still have to congradulate you on the 2.6lbs. that did bid you adue!

Shyla, you hit the nail on the head when you came up with meal planning. If you struggle with figuring out what to have for meals on the spot. Then planning your week would so benefit you. If you like to have a simple pizza night one day, how about making your own. Part skim cheese and lean meats, pineapple haven't gotten me through wonderful pizza craves. You can do this girl, I sure hope these busy days are behind you for a while.

Louie, keeping my fingers crossed for your weigh in! Good luck!

Tammy, congrats on the loss! It sure is nice to see that you're still in the game when you've watched the same # for weeks isn't it! Water aerobics is fantastic. It sure does make working out a lot more fun and a little easier to manage while your weightless...hehehe!

Cheryl, hang in there girl. You've been a little more than stressed these past few weeks. Four pounds is not that bad when you consider how far you've come. I know you'll be back in the game soon enough! (not that you've left it or anything...) Which FD left the house, the new one or the one you had all the while?

Robbin, woo hoo! Congrats on getting to 222! That's great news!! Hang in there this weekend. I for one know how hard it is to maintain this project, but you proved to yourself last weekend it can be done! Hope you having a nice relaxing one at that.

Emily, cool avatar! Good for you planning your night. Hope you had a tonne of great fun!

Well, now to catch up with me...

Thursday I was doing my water aerobics class when we forced outta the water and rushed in to change and hide out in the soccer arena. Hide out, you say... why? Well, the place I go to is like I guess what you all call YMCA (I think). It has a pool, fitness rooms, fitness classes and an indoor soccer arena. And it is literally side by side to the high school and on thursday some kid decided to come to school with a gun and being so close to the school the center was put into lockdown. We weren't allowed to leave till it was clear and safe to go. Luckily the kid was caught without incident...phewww!

Yesterday, was a day full of goodies. After a great weigh in and dropping off my daughter at school, hubby and I decided to hang out together. We went shopping. And girls...I am wearing a size 14 jean today!! Mind you it is stretch 14's, and probably a large make, but hey the tag says 14! We went from there to Costco where he bought me an elliptical machine. Which later in the day I had to go back and pick up when we lined up a pick up truck. I'm so looking forward to getting it put together and having a workout.

Wow, that feels good to get all caught up with you guys. I hate falling behind. Hope you all are having an awesome weekend!!

TTFN!

Good Morning Ladies

A rather dark, dreery, and wet morning here on the West Coast. Although I ain't complaining as I wouldn't want what the East Coast has been getting lately !!!

The scale gods were nice to me this week and I held steady..no up or down. I was up at the beginning of the week, so I guess my work during the week paid off and I maintained.

Tina ~ yikes, sounds like your trip to the gym was a rather interesting one. I am so glad to hear that nothing happened !! A size 14 jeans YAHOO, I bet you look smashing in them and a new elliptical. Sounds like you had a great day out with hubby.

Stacy ~ hope the rest of your Saturday went well Good job on hitting the gym..just think to times before when you may not have been watching what you were eating.. would you really have worried about eating two pieces of quiche.. probably not. So good for you

Emily ~ love the new avatar. What will your next one be ?!?! Do you have any superstitions when it comes to Friday the 13th ??

Tammy ~ how was the fair ?

Robbin ~ hope all is well at your house. Congrats on the downward scale movement !!!

Cheryl ~ I know I have already missed you, but have a safe trip !!

Shyla ~ hang in there girl

Ryanmi ~ come out, come out wherever you are !! Hope you are doing well

Well hubby just left to go meet some friends for coffee, and I have to hit the So have a enjoyable sunday and I will talk to you soon

Default coming down with something

Hello ladies, well i am just exhausted today. I didnt even think about going to the gym, although i did feel guilty about not going. I was tired yesterday and today is even worse. I laid down this afternoon and slept for about 3 hours today. Woke up, ate dinner and now i feel like i could go right back to bed and sleep. I must be coming down with something. I have been sneezing and blowing my nose all day but thought it was just sinus issues. I start my new job tomorrow...i really wanted to be on my game...hope i am feeling better by morning.

I try to have a couple of new foods each week, one that none of us have ever tried. My dd picked out some asian fruit...rambutan...very weird but good. I picked broccoli rabe as our "new" veggie to go with dinner. I really liked it, big change from the normal salad we usually have with dinner. I will probably buy it again when i need a change.

Louie- Good job with the scales. You are absolutely right, normally i wouldnt have thought twice about eating two pieces of quiche and i would have had a big peice of bread pudding with syrup and butter too and who knows what else. So that is progress afterall.

Tina- That is crazy about evacuation of the gym. Wow, very scary. Size 14, wow, that is awesome. Plus, you got an ellipitical. You will love that thing i bet. I miss mine, even though i started going to the gym...it is just SO much easier when you have it just steps away. I think i am going to get mine fixed.

Ok, gotta get everything ready for in the morning. I am excited about the new job, but boy i sure dont feel good tonight.

Good Evening Ladies...Hubby and I had a wonderful weekend together even though we had a lot of classes to attend. The weather was beautiful and I feel relax and ready to tackle the week ahead. I probably ate too much this weekend, everything was a buffet, but I did do lots of walking also. I was so happy that a gal from our foster parent group won the quilt I made. I know that it is going to a home where it will be taken care of. Hubby finally got a program loaded into the laptop where I can get into fat chicks and post. I'm doing the happy dance over that one.

Stacy...Congrats on lossing 2.6 pounds! Hope you are feeling better and not coming down with the flu. Good job on working out after eating the quiche. I have a really good low fat/calorie quiche I will post tomorrow.

Tammy...Whoo Hoo on your loss!! I'd take 3 lbs if I was you. Hope you and the kids had a wonderful time at the fair.

Emily...Hope you had a good time out with the girls.

Tina...How scary for you!!! Glad it turned out OK. Congrats on the scales saying 210 lbs and getting into a size 14. WhooooooHooooooo!!!!! Do you have the elliiptical together? The new FD was the one I had removed from our home. Things are just about back to normal, and that's where I want it to be.

Louie...Congrats on maintaining. We all know that is one of the hardest things we will have to tackle, is maintaining once we reach our goal weight.

Well ladies, I have to get up at 4:30 and get Hubby off to work and get some things done around the house before I can play. Hope you all have a nice evening and a good week ahead.

Hey everyone!
Had a pretty good weekend. Friday night was a fun night out with the girls. We went to Earl's and I had the Santa Fe chicken salad. It's sooo yummy with Romaine, cilantro, black beans, corn, dates, feta cheese, avacado, and tortilla strips- the dressing is a lime vinagrette. Thoroughly enjoyed it Didn't have an appetizer and drank diet coke all night.

Yesterday I had a great "run" on the treadmill. Did 37 minutes with 23 minutes of it running. I'm almost feeling like a runner again...I did 12 minutes w/out stopping. I also raked for about 2 hours and filled 7 hugs bags with leaves. My back is a bit sore today. But lots of calories burned! lol Splurged on popcorn at the movies, but really ate light the rest of the day.

Scales weren't so good today- I know it's because of the sodium...hopefully by Wednesday I'll have a loss for the week.

Tina- that is so crazy about the kid and the gun!! I would have freaked out. Was your daughter at school, I hope?? And I'm totally jealous of your size 14! I am still in an 18/20-- it's coming off everywhere but my butt so far!!

Cheryl- glad your computer is working for you!! Hope you have a great week

Stacy- feel better! Get the rest your body is asking for and hopefully you'll be feeling better really soon.

Louie- maintaining is the next best thing, right??

I'm aiming for a great week workout wise...I've been slacking a bit on the t-tapp. Goals are for running MWF and long t-tapp TTH and basic on MWF too. (it's only 15 minutes and I need to do it first thing in the mornings!!)

Anyway- have a great Monday everyone.

Happy Monday, everyone! You all must be out working out already this morning
I did my t-tapp (short) first thing and then my week 5 day1 of my couch to 5 k training. All felt great. It's my 6 year old's birthday today, but I'm only going to have a sliver of cake. He's picked Burger King for dinner...not sure what I'll order yet. Grilled chicken or Whopper Jr. with no mayo maybe. And light lunch for sure
HAve a great day!

Hi Ladies...Still having a hard time trying to get into the swing of things. Aunt Flo decided to pay me a visit last week and she hasn't left yet, think that has a lot to do with my weight gain and eating everything that isn't nailed down. She hasn't been around for over 6 months and I thought that part of my life was finally over. I'm tired, hungry and I don't even want to exercise or think about it! Swift kick and head banging needed here. I can say that I'm drinking lots of water, so that's a good thing.

Emily...Tell your little guy Happy Birthday!!! Night out with the Ladies sounds like fun and the chicken salad sounds soooo good. Yes, I'm happy the computer is working, but I'm having problems with the more smilies. Can get them up, but can't post them. Something else for my Hubby to figure out.

Hope everyone else is having a good day. I had to call AAA for what I thought would be a jump, but ended up being my starter. The guy was nice enough to hit the starter with the hammer I furnished for him. Made it home and Hubby bought a new starter on his way home. Glad my Hubby is handy with fixing things on our vehicles.

Talk with you all tomorrow.

~Cheryl

Hi everyone! Just checking in. Had a good spin class this morning and I am now at work. Glad to see you're all doing well. I have not weighed in a few days because of Aunt Flo, but she should be gone in a day or 2. By the way has anyone noticed a change in cramps, etc., with weight loss and exercise? I used to be in major pain every month, and for the past 2 months, I've had almost no pain. Keep up the great work!

Default back in the game

Hey there gals,

Well i have been sort of "off" my game since friday. Nothing really bad but just not my usual self. Avg about 1700 cals a day instead of my target 1350, AND i have not been exercising really. Shame shame. I was fighting a cold or something over the weekend. Then yesterday i started a new job. So i hadnt been to the gym since saturday and it just didnt feel right saturday...so i lost my motivation or something. I FORCED myself to go workout today....and i mean FORCED. I would have rather been beat with a horse whip but i went anyway. When i got there, guess what i found hiding in a corner???? My motivation. I guess i had left it there saturday. I feel SO much better today than i have been feeling. Finally feel like i am back on track.

Thought i would throw some goals for the week out there:
1. Eat less than 1400 cals a day (had too many over 1400 cal days in a row)
2. Exercise at the gym for one hour, 30 minutes of that cardio on tues, wed, and thurs.
3. Drink lots of water...i have really been slacking on this for the past week or so.

So there we go, lets hope it is not too late to get that ticker moving friday morning.

kreen- WTG on the spin class. My gym has one of those classes but i am intimidated...it is a one hour class and i just cant see me being able to keep up for a full hour. They had a big water aerobics class going today too...might check into that when i need a change of pace. Now that you mention it, i do think my cramping has been less. I stay on midol but every month i pump myself up for this big crampy and tired ordeal but since i have been working out...i havent missed a workout yet because of TOM....very interesting.

Cheryl- I can totally relate to being "out of the swing of things"...that is how i was all weekend, i finally got my groove back today. Just know that your groove is out there...you just have to take the time to find it...ha ha. Dont forget to post the quiche recipe...i would love to try it.

Jelynn-Mmm burger king...my favorite burgers and fries joint...that would have been a VERY tough one for me. Hope your young'n had a good birthday. Way to go on the running. I would love to get about 50 more pounds off of me and then get started on running. I just dont think my knees could handle it well at this weight. But runners always look so lean and healthy.

Ok, time to get started on cleaning the house, i have put it off long enough.

Default Happy Tuesday

Good day ladies! Hope you are all found well. I've been preoccupied with running around for Alyssa's birthday party coming up this saturday. It's amazing how much there is to do for a bunch of five year olds. I've been loving my elliptical, it's a little hard to get used to. I thought my knees and quads would kill me but once you get the hang of it, it really gives you a good workout. Thank God there is a built in fan!! LOL!

Louie, we've been rained on these past few days too and it eventually turned into snow yesterday! Yikes! But luckily, we've got beautiful sunshine again today. Congrats on maintaining! That'll give you plenty of practice for when you reach goal.

Stacy, way to go finding your motivation! Sometimes this trip can take the good right out of you motivationally speaking. I've got so much on my plate this week and I'm feeling like I want to put it on the back burner. But I know I can't...it just feels that way so badly.

Cheryl, glad you had a great weekend with hubby. And it's also nice to hear that things are starting to get back to normal around your house, what a relief huh!? Yep, the elliptical is up and running and so am I!! hehe! Who knew hammers would be so handy under the hood of a car! LOL!

Emily, I'll have to go to Earls and try that salad. It sounds really yummy! Great work controlling your impulses out with the girls...great choices. Yeah, my daughter was safe in her own school accross town. Don't worry, you'll be in a size 14 before you know it! I'm not the only one facing birthday goodies this week, what did you decide on having? And happy birthday to your son!

Kreen, way to go taking a spin class. I hear they are brutal. I guess the only thing I've noticed about TOM lately are that the side affects are way more intense. That crazy lady!

Well, like Stacy...I've been putting off my housework in order to run around getting supplies, goodie bags. I still have to grocery shop...sheesh!

Chat later!

HI everyone!
Well, it hasn't been a great scale week. I think the 217 was a fluke because every other day it's hovered in the 218.4-219 range. Hopefully the FF will come soon and take a few because I have tried to stay on program and get some good exercising in too.

BK was alright (not my fave...) I just got a whopper jr. and ate about 5 fries. Compared to what it could have been (and what my dh ate, lol) it could have been much much worse. Got up this morning bright and early at 6 and did my long t-tapp. Felt good to do a full body w/o even though it totally kicks my butt.

Tina- we are having Connor's party on Friday-- he wants to do Halloween stuff so it should be pretty easy to throw something together. What are you guys doing?

Stacy- yay for going to the gym even when you didn't want to! And to find your motivation back too. wtg

Kreen- spinning is something I haven't attempted yet-- looks so hard! Glad to hear your AFs are better...that happened to me, but it seemed to be after I had my babies my symptoms were so much better.

Cheryl- hope you are feeling back in the swing of things soon.

Here is a link to my blog if you want to check out pics of the birthday boy

Hello Ladies, how are you all doing? Sorry I haven’t been here for a few days things have just been hectic. I’m not gonna try to catch up I have missed way to much. I am gonna go back and read all the post but I just suck at the catching up thing.

I was kinda bad over the weekend and am now paying for it my scales are up 4 pounds. But the thing is that I don’t know if it is from the over indulgence from the weekend or because TOM is on the way. I do know I am all puffy and retaining some water. I am back on track today and am going to do my best to get back to ticker before this next weekend is over but I have a feeling that will be hard. This Friday is my birthday and I am sure we will be eating out. I just have to remember to make good choices.

Yesterday was a rough day with my youngest (Mark). We had to take him for a barium enema to see if there are any birth defects with his colon. Good news was that there is not and he will not need any surgery. I felt so bad for him but he handled it very well and I took him to eat pizza afterwards. Which was not good for me but I only had 2 pieces and made sure they were small.

Well I guess I had better get myself to work. I will check back later on today.

Default movin and groovin

Hello all, made it to the gym this morning. Feeling so good about getting my workouts done in the morning. I get so much more hungry though doing weight training. Went to Walmart for some groceries and when i was putting my stuff on the counter i was very proud of myself to see that most of my groceries were fresh produce. What wasnt produce, was lean meats. My only indulgence or guilty pleasure is a bagel for breakfast. But looking at my food today made me realize how much my grocery list has changed in the last few months.

The scale was still up from ticker weight this morning but slowly coming back down. I go through this EVERY week, dang weekends.

Robbin- How old is Mark? Poor baby. Sounds like you are a very good mom though for taking him out for pizza afterwards. I think little things like that go a long way with kids. Good for you for only eating two pieces too.

Jelynn- Good job on restraining yourself at burger king. Then starting off the next morning with a full body workout. WTG.

Tina- Glad you are liking the ellipitical. There are so many different kinds. Some TOTALLY wear me out too quickly and some i can do for hours. It all depends on how long the stride is, for me. Some almost feel like i am running in place uphill...weird. The one i had, and prefer, is the kind where it just feels like i am riding a bike standing up. I know they think i am a freak at the gym going down the line trying out each different kind of ellipitical til i find the one that my body likes. ha ha.

ok, i have put it off long enough...i HAVE to go clean out my fridge. My son has an iguana and doesnt understand the benifits of putting collard greens and other iguana veggies in plastic baggies, so i have random greens throughout the fridge. Messy messy. A messy fridge drives me nuts...feels like i cant find anything, then when i do find it, it is old.

Had a terrible weigh-in this morning! 219.4 after 217 last Wenesday- grr! I must have eaten more than I thought this week- I thought I done well watching portions and exercising pretty much every day Oh well, it's just a number on a scale, right? I know the big picture is much more important and maybe it's kind of a fluke- guess we'll see the next few days.

I decided to make lunch my "off plan" meal for the week and had a double cheeseburger at McDs...I know not a good choice, but it tasted good and I did have a good run on the treadmill this morning. Thing is, right now I feel gross so it probably wasn't worth it, lol.

Got a new washer and dryer last night- whoo hoo! I'm totally excited. With 4 kids we have tons of laundry and these front loaders will definitley cut down some of the loads.

Hope everyone is having a decent Wednesday...I can't believe it's Wednesday-- I almost typed Tuesday!
