It looks like it is going to be an extreamly busy day here at work also I have a pile of stuff to catch up on and a nasty note from my boss on a very little mistake I made and I will probably get wrote up for it, he is so anal about everything. I am starting to think about looking for a new job.
Just wanted to let you all know the scales have been very nice to me and are reading 222. YAY!!!

Hey Everyone! Hope everyone had a nice weekend (even if it is already Wednesday, lol!) We were in Red Deer at the in-laws and had a nice Thanksgiving and I came home to a loss! I was psyched! I did really good at watching portions and drinking water all weekend. But still ate everything. DH and I even went to the movie one night and shared popcorn
Weigh-in this morning was 217. I'm thrilled since that is less than I got to when I was losing last spring. So now I'm into new weight again.
Tina- Sugar Solution sounds really interesting. I think it's true that we need to keep blood sugar level- (ie. eating snacks between meals). I've done a lot of reading about that on the t-tapp forums too. Her exercises are all about that too.
Tammy- I think maintaining that long while away is phenomenal!! I'm sure you'll be on the road to losing again really soon.
Stacy- have fun at your new gym! Sounds awesome.
Robbin- sorry about your sick son- hope he's better today. And your boss doesn't sound nice at all!
Shawn- way to get back on track after the weekend. That's what we all have to do if we want this weight loss to happen, eh!
Cheryl- you can do this!!
hey to Erin and Louie and anyone else I missed!

Wow! I had completely lost this thread and am glad I found it today. I'll be reading back to catch up on everyone. i am doing great. Down to 224 lbs now, i think I was 239 the last time I posted here. So I am thrilled about that. Still working hard on this weight loss thing, and wanting to be close to Onderland by Jan 1. I hope all is well with everyone, keep up the great work!

Good morning chickies! Feeling pretty good today, scales are starting to come back down after last weekends "time off". Went to water aerobics this morning and there was NO instructor, so I thought I'd get in anyways and try to do what I've learned. But one of the ladies who has been going quite a lot longer than me took over and did a class, boy I think she worked us harder than the instructor! LOL! I feel good though.
Shyla, great job with getting back into the groove. It seems really hard at first like you have to drag yourself to do it sometimes, but feels good afterwards.
Robbin, how is Mark today? Sounds like you were doing a lot of running around yesterday cause it showed up on the scales this morning!! Woo HoO! You're doing awesome girl! Oh yeah...tell your boss to kiss your hiney!!
Emily, way to go! Having a loss coming through Thanksgiving weekend. Now there's something to strive for! Great job! I think the sugar solution really makes sense. Here's a blurp from the book: "Use the glycemic index (GI), which ranks foods based on how quickly they cause blood sugar to rise. Foods with a low GI are converted to glucose more slowly than those with a medium or high GI. The result, a slower rise in insulin and blood sugar, which discourages fat storage. Because they stay in your system longer, fiber-rich, low-GI foods promote sateity, curbing your appetite to discourage overeating and weight gain. Fiber, good fats, and "good carbs" are cornerstones of The Sugar Solution smart eating plan because they also help make cells more insulin sensitive. Generally speaking you'll replace fiber-poor refined carbohydrates with slow-digesting, unrefined carbohydrates, add good fats and good carbs, learn how to control portions, and eat smaller meals throughout the day. The result: Cells take in more glucose, so there's less left over to get stored as fat.
Hi Kreen! Nice to see you again, glad to see you're still doing awesome. Great to hear! Keep up that wonderful effort and you'll meet your goal by Jan. 1st no sweat!
I better get some lunch I got a little girl here tugging at my arm! Have a great day ladies!

Hey there gals. I have been doing well this week. I have been at the high end of my max all week but i think it is the additional exercise at the gym making me hungry. Do you all do that? After 30 minutes of weight training then 30 minutes of cardio...i am not really hungry but then after lunch...i am STARVING from about 1-4...i am not giving in to it ...hoping it levels out. But i am doing a lot of healthy grazing during those hours. Usually i like to be at 1350 cals a day, since the gym i am right at 1500 a day. Not bad, but i dont want to counteract the extra exercise either. But i am loving the gym though. My body feels great. Looking forward to weigh in on friday.
Tina- My scale is on the way down too from the weekend. Geeze, i go through this every week. It usualy takes me til wed to get back to ticker weight. I *try* to tell myself that the extra calories on the weekend keeps my metabolism guessing and keeps it from getting complacent. ha ha. I have a bunch of books about glycemic index...DH was diagnosed with "pre" diabetes, and i have high insulin...so i am all about watching your sugar. I think that stuff is right on the money too. I have noticed the less sugar/simple carbs i eat the less i crave sugar. When i used to eat lots of carbs, i craved lots of carbs and i was SO sleepy all the time. Now days, even on splurge days, i rarely go for something sweet. I dont even crave sweet tea anymore and that is something i used to could drink a gallon a day of. Just not interested anymore. DH has lost weight because of my change in cooking and since we have cut out the sweets, at his last check up he was no longer in the prediabeties category anymore. Very cool.
Kreen-Good job on the weight loss girl. Way to go. Glad you came back for a visit.
Jelynn- Wow, coming back after Thanksgiving at a lower weight??? Heck yeah, excellent job.
Robbin- Sorry to hear you have a sick little one. Mine just got over the same thing. They bounce back so quickly. By what you are saying about your boss, it sounds like you work at the same place that i just quit. I dont miss it either. The nit picking and blowing stuff out of proportion will kill you. It used to amaze me, the things he would fuss about where i worked. I think sometimes they are just bored. WIth your scales being so nice i am going to come over to your house and use YOUR scales.
Shyla- Keep up the working out and that scale will be back down to 224 before you know it.
Cheryl- Glad you are up and running again. I hate technical difficulties. I am SO technologically challenged, it is sad. But at least you know that even the experts couldnt fix your problem. Sorry to hear about all the family stress you are having right now...but like you said, you can definately make your goal by New years. I have a new years goal too. I have 20 pounds to go to reach it. I love mini goals...they really keep me striving.
Ok, well i am looking out the window and it is windy and leaves are rustling...it is calling to me. I think i will go walk the yard and fill my birdfeeders.

Hey guys - I'm frustrated / disgusted with myself this morning. Last night, DH decided we'd just order pizza, and I went TOTALLY overboard and got an appetizer & pasta dish (a little local italian place). And fed into that "sure, I deserve to indulge / whats one day gonna hurt / overdo it to take advantage of the situation" mindset .... AGAIN....
I have GOT to get back on track for real. A few days of "really bad" per week EVERY WEEK is not helping!! I know it's because the past few weeks have been so busy, both at home & work... but I also know what I need to do. MEAL PLAN. I *hate* to cook, espec. if DH are looking at each other saying "so what's for dinner". So this weekend, I need to sit down & plan out quick & easy meals. Like grilled chicken salads. Because by the time I pickup the kids, go to the gym, and then come home & cook, it's getting late!
Sorry, ladies. Just needed to vent this a.m. I need to get this train under control!
Hope you all have an "in-control" day! *hugs*

Hi ladies,
Today is one of those days that I don’t want to be at work….. So I guess I’m gonna waste time today and chat with yall a bit. My kids are out of school today and tomorrow and I would love to be home with them. Both tonight and tomorrow night are football games, so I’m really looking forward to working in the concession stand tonight. How stupid to schedule football games during our fall break. I really hate that, I would have loved to have done something FUN these four days instead.
The scales haven’t loved me this week either. This morning I weighed from 225 to 233 depending which time I weighed. Somedays I can be really anal about them, like this morning. I must have stepped on and off the scale 20 times, trying to get an average weight. I was really hoping to see a loss today, as the scales have been hinting at it for the last two days.
Louie, I’m not familiar with the CMA exam. But I googled it to find out a bit more about it so now I can say I’ve heard of it at least and know the definition. (I google and wikipedia!) Congratulations on passing the exam, I’m sure that’s a great step professionally. I love fall too by the way. After our brutal summers here fall is such a pleasant time of year. Mind you, we don’t have much of the beautiful fall colors that others get, but I just enjoy the weather.
Stacy, I’m glad to hear the gym is working out for you. I’m sure you will be building those muscles and burning more and more calories. Do you find that you have to eat more protein while lifting to keep from being hungry? I’ve heard other people who are doing weight training say that, but I have no actual experience.
Tina, I haven’t read “the Sugar Solution” but that is the way I eat now (low on the glycemic index) . I am a converted sugar addict and I know that for me sugar is a no-no. Your water aerobics class sounds cool. It sounds like it would be fun enough you might not mind “exercise”.
Shyla, I know you can get back in control. Using this weekend to plan meals sounds like a great idea. That is something I have to do too, because it is too easy to slip if I can’t find anything in the house to eat/ don’t have time to cook/ am too busy to start supper on time/ etc. etc. Vent all you need to, we understand.
Robbin, I hope Mark has recovered. Sorry about the anal boss, jeesh…. 222 on the scales, wow!
Emily, Good for you for getting your weight loss into virgin territory, and while on holiday too. That definitely deserves a carrot.
Kreen, You are making fabulous progress. I’m hoping to hit onederland in January, but I’ll have to kick it up some for that to happen. But girl, you are sure moving along.
Take care ladies!

Morning Ladies...I tried to get here lastnight to post, but the sites on the laptop won't let me in. GGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! I'm on the old dinosaur, so if I can get in using it, then there is something still wrong with the laptop. Went to WW yesterday and I'm up 4 lbs, I'm so disgusted with myself to let the stress get to me, that I go back to my emotional eating. I'm back on track with watching what I eat, journaling; which I haven't done in two weeks and exercising. No time to do personals right now, but I'll be back later on this afternoon to do that. I need to feed my Hubby and get him off to work. Have a great afternoon.

Happy Friday the 13th to you all...Thought I would pop-in before Hubby and I leave for the weekend. Have a Foster Parent Confrence to go to. Can't wait for some alone time with my better half and no FD around. Finally back in control with my eating and things are much better in our home.
No time for personals this morning...I still have to pack and Hubby is biting at the bit to get on the computer as well, so I guess I will be nice and let him have it. Have a great weekend and I'll chat with you all on Sunday.

Good morning. Where has everyone been. Good news this morning, lost 2.6 pounds this week. That puts me halfway to my New Years goal...so i am tickled. Only .4 away from adding another dragonfly. Such a relief to know that all that hard work at the gym paid off and it wasnt even that bad. It really fires me up for the coming week.
Cheryl-Have a good weekend dear...i know that time with dh can be precious. Dont worry about the 4 pounds...just let it motivate you to get back on track.
Jtammy-My kids were off for fall break all this week too. It was a nice break but gosh, when i am home with them, it seems like i eat, eat, eat. So it will be nice to get back into a groove again. What is the deal with the scale fluctuating like that all in a matter of 10 minutes ...i just dont get it. It makes me want to scream. I usually end up going with the middle of the road...but then i have doubts ALL WEEK, wondering if i guessed right. Very Frustrating but maybe it is setting you up for a loss. I do get hungrier going to the gym. I am trying to fight the urges and it got easier as the week went on. The first couple of days seems like i constantly had something in my mouth...i just made sure it was something healthy and low cal.
Louie-Sending fairy fat mother your way for you sunday weigh in.
Shyla-We all need a splurge meal once in a while...the problem is when your splurge meals get a little too often...i have a bad habit of doing that...especially on the weekend or like you, when dh starts in with the pizza crap. Planning is key for me too. I have noticed the days that i screw it up are the days when the cubbards are bare and it is the busiest time of the day. Stock that kitchen woman and have some back up meals planned for when life gets a little too busy. Now if i could just practice what i preach. ha ha.
Ok ladies. Have a good friday.

Hey girls sorry I haven’t been here very much lately. Things have been very hectic for me. I have been swamped at work then with my little one being sick in the beginning of the week then football practice for him last night and on top of all that is my Volunteer Work. I have managed to get some walking in this week and the scales are being pretty good. Yesterday they had popped back up to 223 but today they are back to 222, YAY!!! Maybe I will be able to control myself this weekend and not cheat at all.
Emily – A loss over a holiday is absolutely wonderful and shows great willpower. Keep it up
Kreen – Welcome back, and congrats on all of your losses.
Tina – You don’t know how bad I want to tell the boss to kiss my hiney but well………………..I guess I wont.
Stacy – if you think that coming over and using my scales would help you are more than welcome to do just that. But with all of the working out you do I am sure your scales will be dropping any day now.
Shawn – Sorry to hear you are having such a rough week. Maybe if you sit and do your meal planning then grill a bunch of chicken breast you can make your evenings easier. Just grill the chicken then put it in baggies and toss in the fridge, when the evening comes pull out some chicken chop it up and toss on a salad or slice it and sauté some green peppers and onions with it and you have quick fajita’s and if you use low carb low fat tortillas its very healthy. I usually buy a bunch of chicken and different marinades on Saturday then on Sunday grill it all up and have my meat for the whole week. It makes the evening much easier. And there are lots of things you can do with your grilled chicken.
Louie – I am rooting for the scales to drop for you.
Tammy - Did you have fun working the concession stand? Don’t you just hate having to go to work when the kids are at home? I have such a hard time thinking about work when I want to be at home with the family. Sorry to hear the scales are being a bit cranky with you. I will keep my fingers crossed that they decide to drop.
Cheryl – hope you have a good time with your hubby this weekend. Glad you are getting back on track.
Well girls I guess I better try to get some work done but it is so hard cause the boss is out of town LOL.
Check back later.

Hi girls, Just a quick one. A meeting at work was cancelled for today, so I asked for the day off since the kids are off. We're all going to the state fair today. I'm planning to go ahead and splurge on a chicken on a stick. (I might change my mind, but that's the plan now). I'm putting an apple in my purse in case I get the munchies. I don't want to be tempted by a funnel cake or a fried snickers bar.
Scales finally showed a loss this morning. They bounced back and forth between 227 and 226 (2 or 3 pound loss), so I'm claiming the 227 since it showed up more often than 226. Maybe 226 isn't too far around the corner.
Cheryl, I hope you have a good weekend. It sounds like you and dh need some time away from all the stresses of home.
Stacy, Congrats on another loss. You will hit your new years goal with no problem. I bet you'll fly past it way ahead of time. I agree that it is harder when I'm home with the kids. Anything that changes my routine makes it a little more challenging to stay on course. We only had two days of fall break. DId you all have a full week?
Robbin, Your week sounds so busy. Don't you love chicken breast? They are so versatile, so quick, and so low calorie too? Actually, I hate working in the concession stand, and I have to go back tonight . Oh well, only two more games after tonight ( I know I shouldn't hope this, but I hope we DON'T go into play-offs).
Have a great day!

Happy Friday everyone! Had to show off my avatar I can only use today, lol.
Planning a night out with girlfriends tonight, but already know what I'm going to order so should be fine. I'll indulge in a bite or 2 of a couple appetizers, but no dessert and sticking to diet coke!!
Glad you get a day off, Tammy and have fun at the fair! (and the concession stand tonight, lol)
Cheryl, Robbin, and Stacy- have a fantastic weekend!! (and all the rest of ya'all too!)

Happy Saturday ladies! Sorry I haven't been here these past two days. I'll come back later in the day to explain. But for now I just wanted to pop in to report I'm down to 210 Woopee!! Considering I'm came back weighing 215 from my little excursion last weekend. I'm so stoked! And oh yeah, hubby bought me an elliptical yesterday so I'll probably spend a lot of time putting it together.
Chat later girlies! Hope you're all having a great day so far!
