Well if my goal was to drink lots of water, exercise, and stay below 1400 cals...i failed miserably today. I draink 4 glasses of water, ate 1521 calories, and didnt exercise a lick. Shame on me. I really tried to drink water, but i was cold all day...hard for me to drink water when i am cold. Lunch was catered at work, i was told it would be healthy...it was not...BBQ and fries...UGH. Then exercise...just couldnt ever get around to it. No real excuse. Overall, i am not totally disappointed...i just dont feel like any headway was made towards my goal today, although i probably didnt do any damage either. So i will deal with it and move on. Tomorrow should be much better.
Sno- Hope you have fun on your vacation. I will be wishing you strength. Glad you have an apt with a doc, get her to do your blood work while you are there. I dont know how many sizes smaller i am, all my clothes were elastic when i started...sad really...nothing else was comfortable...although now i can get into my jeans that were lacking about 3 inches of buttoning. With my family history of health, i HAVE TO exercise. I have diabetes AND heart disease on BOTH sides of my family...scares me to death. And i have worked for kidney doctors, so i have seen what diabetes can do to a body first hand. I never noticed Layne Bryant having more apple than pear shaped clothes...i am apple shaped...maybe that is why their clothes always fit me so well. I am a weird apple shape though, no boobs, no butt or hips, and my waist is thick...i HATE that shape...more like a pickle barrel than an apple i guess, ha ha.
Dollypie- 2 veggies at every meal...my hat is off to you. And i thought i was doing good by having 1 fruit at bkf, 1 veggie/fruit at lunch, one for snack, and 2 at dinner. I really really work at having lots of veggies. 3 pounds this week... woohoo. That is just wonderful. Keep it up gal. You are so right about eating 1000 calorie meals before and thinking nothing of it. I was looking at some of the Olive Garden calorie dinners the other day...WHOAH...blew me awawy. I swear there must have been meals where i had 3000 cals in a meal once you add in all the salad, alfrado dipping sauce, bread sticks, then the cheesy dish, and dont forget a desert....that is just rediculous....but oh so good too. ha ha. It is so funny though to hear of other peoples clothing problems with fitting. I am 5' 11", pants are always waiting on a flood, then wearing a size 22 and having a B cup bra, ha ha. Apparently if you are heavy, you have to have big boobs...or at least that is what all the bra makers think.
I am ready to hit the gym tomorrow. Actually my arms are still sore from my sunday workout, so might be best that i took today off. Ok ladies, lets make the best of the rest of the week, lots of time left to do the right thing and make a difference on that ticker by the weekend.
a good day today--had a late breakfast so I may not have three meals today. I picked up char grilled tri tip and chicken for dinner so I dont have to cook!
Well, maybe I will fix a salad or something.
Still trying to make up my mind about wether to complain about my hair. In some lights I like it and in some I dont.
Getn healthy: I a 5'9 so tall pants are too long and regular pants are too short! Sigh. I have gotten really good at stretching pants out--after every laundry I am standing on the bottom of pants legs and stretching them out so that they will be long enough. Also I am relatively small busted so if I buy something that fits my hips then I have the bust bagginess that is so unattractive. My big busted small butted friend does not understand why I get upset when a top is loose on the top! It is her dream. Also at Lane most pants have a pooch where the belly is supposed to go. Oh well--one day all clothing will be nanotech and will automatically fit us!
You did good today--you were close to 1400--and you did good considering luch was a bummer. I think one of the keys to success is being able to navigate that stuff. Also, you need a rest day for sure!
Yesterday it felt like I was running a marathon. I got home cooked dinner and then out to do more errands and okay shopping but that is hard work. I didn't get home until 10pm and was dragging tail this morning to go workout. My dog that had knee surgery is in alot of pain so I had to sit a the vet hospital for 45 minutes waiting on pain medication yesterday. I am also trying to buy some warm clothes because I am going to Washington D.C. for a week in November and I just don't have alot of warm clothes. Oh well if that is the worst of my problems right now them life is still good.
Getnhealthy: I say take a day off from the weights but do some cardio. Hit that ellipitcal!!! You were not that much off plan yesterday only by about 150 calories.
Sno: You are already ahead of the game is you are planning on your meals for your vacation and planning on getting in a little exercise. When I booked my hotel in D.C. I made sure it had a fitness area so I could still do my workouts in the morning. I know I will be walking much more than normal, but I will probably be eating more than normal as well.
Well I was happy this morning--down another pound--I thought I might I have been doing really well on the food.
Today I went out to lunch with a friend and when teh bread plate came I put it on her side of the table. Then when she ordered cake with icecream and they put it between us I had two bites. I felt like that was a big accomplishment!
I was telling myself it was practice for when I go on vacation tomorrow. Just to ignore the temptations!
Dolly--you are so busy! OH well at least you get to shop!!
hey everyone! i finally ended up having to go get a couple shots for my headache and now i am back on track. of course i gained back a bunch of my lose so i am only at 178.6 pounds but i am pretty happy with that. i was really hoping this weight would go away faster but i suppose this is more likely to stay away.
today i ate some m&m's and i feel bad about that but is really nice to be able to eat stuff again.
Hello ladies. I am much better today. Got to the gym, had a great workout and have stayed on plan with eating all day. The main improvement i need right now is water. But i have decided, no other drinks...just water with meals...well, except for BKF...gotta have juice or milk with bkf. But that way, i can sneak in an extra couple glasses of water without knowing and taking a big bottle with me to gym. I think i will weigh in the morning and see what damage the weekend has done. I am always shy about weighing after a weekend.
Bertine Glad your head is better. My gracious...a headache like that can really wear you down. Hope those headaches stay far away for a long time.
Sno Good job getting down another pound. And wow, good will power showing today at your lunch. That is my big thing that i am really trying to practice. Moderation. Like yesterday when there were cheese cakes, choc cakes, cookies....i had a cookie and left it at that. I didnt even drink the sweet tea...which was screaming for me. (if you could drink sweet tea as your 8 glasses of water a day, i would have it licked by lunch, ha ha). So again, good job on the moderation.
Dollypie My goodness girl...getting in after 10 AND making it to the gym the next morning. I dont know if you are my hero or if you are just nuts. Good for you though, way to go. I do hit the elliptical everytime i go to the gym. 30 minutes of WT and 30 minutes of ellipitical. Although, next week i think i will have to take some time off weights, might be having a cyst on my arm removed and surgeon has already warned me i will pop the stitches if i lift heavy stuff. It is right between my shoulder muscle and bicep...of course. Kind of bummed about it...i dont want to lose my momentum.
Well buess that is it for today. Think i might go do a little something for me and go dye my hair. It is so dark and i am so pale in the winter...i just look washed out. So i think i will lighten it a bit.
Well I am back to dieting after a few days of eating like a cow. I have no common sense when it comes to food. Oh well, life goes on and so does the diet. Maybe just a few days off will be enough to get my butt in gear. Stress level is down a little, I had a little talk with both kids and they have been behaving themselves fairly well for two days anyway.
Snow - sounds like you are doing great. It helps me alot to know that I am not the only one who's weight is bouncing around and not going anywhere very fast.
dolly - that is just how I have felt this week, going non-stop. But it does keep me from the food, somewhat.
bertine - glad your headache is better. I know they can be killer. Glad to hear you are back on track.
get n - keep going, you will be thin in no time!!!
Well off to scrub toilets, in a fair world that would be worth at least 3 pounds.
card: you made me laugh...we would all be skinny-mini's if cleaning would take off the pounds. We have company coming this weekend and I am starting tonight...vacuum, dust, laundry, sweep...does the list ever end.
getnhealthy: sorry to hear you might not be able to lift weights for while, just do double the cardio or work those leg muscles. I have been getting on the machine that replicates climbing stairs. After five minutes I am sweating bullets, it's crazy who knew that walking the stairs was such a workout. I am going to go for 10 minutes soon.
bertine: glad to here that the headaches are gone. A few M&M's thats okay you probably needed them after all the pain, hey your're back on track anyway!
Sno: That's great, pushing the bread away and then only two bites of cake. Also down another pound! You are definetly ready for vacation you are going to do great!
My workout at the gym was good today. I jogged for ten minutes on the treadmill b/n my 30 minutes of walking. I really think that weight training has built up my leg muscles and helped my knee. I used to get a sharp pain in my knee if I tried jogging, but haven't felt in about 3 weeks. I am going to go at it slowly though. What a great Non-Scale Victory, no more knee pain!
So today I brought my lunch and am so excited to eat it. It is a tomato and avocado salad with lime juice and I crisped some corn tortillas to spread ff refried beans on. This is just like having Mexican food without alot of the saturated fats and calories. Only one more hour...I tell you it's the small things in life that keep me going. Everyone have a wonderful day!
I did so well today until dinner. Dang crunchy chinese soup noodles ....i love those things and couldnt seem to stop eating them. I was low on calories before those...so maybe it will even out. Dang it.
Dollypie- I think i will take your advice and double up on cardio and leg exercises while recouping from my small surgery. Maybe some good glute workouts. It might cause me to branch out at the gym, use some equipment that i usually go on past. Some of the stuff i am too intimidated to even figure out how to use. I need to swallow my pride and ask a trainer. Maybe i could try that stairmaster thing that wears you out too. That is an awesome NSV about the knee pain. My knees can predict the weather...they ache like crazy when it is going to rain. That is why i love the ellipitical so...no knee pain. Your lunch sounds DELICIOUS. Very good idea.
Card- Glad you are back on track, as well as your kids getting back on track. Thank you for the encouragement about me making progress. I really think that the hard work is paying off slowly but surely. I went in to help my daughter Olivia get dressed for school, she is 7 and not a morning person and she said, "woah mom, you've lost a lot of your belly". I thought that was pretty cool if even a 7 year old that sees me everyday notices.
Getting geared up for the Biggest Loser. Hoping it will give me incentive to get to the gym early. I gotta go early due to some morning appointments...i can do it, i can do it, i can do it.
just checking in from vacation. So far doing great--eating a little more than usual but no sweets so far--the only thing I had was half a roll last night. I refused cookies too!
so I am going to keep it up--I am determined to lose weight this vac!
Sno: Glad to hear vacation is going well...you can do it!
GetnHealthy: I am always so nervous about trying new machines at the gym too. When I do want to try I new machine I usually scope it out for about a week and watch other people use the equipment. If there is a trainer teaching someone new I try to easedrop and get the hints. Then when I see some one that is about my age and size I ask them if I still have question. They are usually pretty helpful. I am also so nervous to ask a trainer, they just intimidate me. I recieved 6 sessions when I joined and never used them. I am trying to get up the courage to try this new weight machine that works your arms and stomach, maybe someday soon.
Well my house is going to have to wait to get cleaned tonight. One of my really good friends had her baby a month early yesterday. Cutest thing on the planet. Well her family is coming to town tomorrow and her house is no where in order yet. So I am going to go over and get her guestrooms ready, clean up, and make a lasagna dinner and enchilada dinner to have on hand in the refrigerator for them. I should get a workout going up and down her stairs.
My workout this morning was good, I just wish they had better reruns on in the morning to watch while working out!
hi all! wow, this is the most active group that i post in...i will never be able to catch up with everyone.
things have been really crazy around here and with no main computer at home it has been really hard to post. i am doing pretty good though, i have been at 199 for about a week now so i am really excited. i still have a long way to go to hit my jan. goal but every pound brings me one step closer. i am going to TRY to get caught up with everyone this weekend!! hope that you all have a great one.
trob
Not much going on today, hopefully it will be a slow friday since all of our deadlines will be out the door yesterday! It is suppose to be really nice weather this weekend, maybe I can convince my friend to do some hiking.
Hey ladies, had a good weigh in today...another 2 pounds...i was sweating bullets this morning stepping on the scale ... i was sure i wouldnt lose any this week...only made it to the gym 3 times and my cals always seemed to creep up to be about 150 more than i wanted. Found out we are going to the in-laws for thanksgiving, so that gives me some good incentive to drop a quick 10 before i see them. They are all 120 pound people...i am the ONLY overweight one on that side of the family ...makes me SO uncomfortable...so at least i can go there knowing that i have lost some and that i am working on it.
Dollypie- Hiking sounds great. It is supposed to rain, rain, rain here but i LOVE a brisk fall hike with my dogs, kids, and dh. You and I are neck and neck for losing...with you at 19 and me at 20. I dont know how you do it, weighing so much less than me. The weight just keeps falling off of you...you are a real inspiration to me ...showing me that even as the scale gets lighter...you can still keep up a good pace of loss.
Trob- Hey, you made it to one*derland, WTG. I have been wanting to see that chart updated as well. Sno is out of town for a few days, so maybe folks can update it as they visit the thread. I can update mine and Dollypie, but ours is the only one i know...since she just listed hers. Wow, mine has really changed from when you saw it last. I went from losing 10 to losing 20...that feels pretty good. Anyone who is not listed below can add theirs...i think we have a new one or two.
CH-------will lose 30
Stacy----will lose 32--20 down--12 to go!
card-----will lose 20--4 down--16 to go!
trob ---- will lose 30-7 down--24 to go
Sno------will lose 36--5 down--31 to go!
Nawchem-goal 12lbs ----down 4

Chaarli----will lose 20
Dollypie---will lose 30--19 down--11 to go!
Whirleygirl-will lose 25
Bertine----will lose 25--6 down--19 to go!
Sno- Hope your vacation is going well.
Card- Hope you got back on track after being off plan for a few days. It is so hard sometimes.
Ok, time to head off to the pet store ...ds has an iguana that is out of supplements and the dogs are giving me a look about it raining and them not having a bone to chew on. Hope everyone is off to a good strong weekend.
