  • Sigh... well I have been missing in action these last couple weeks and my weight went down... then up... then back down... and today I am at 166... 1/2 pound up from my last weigh in here. But hey I will take it considering that I have not been tracking my food, attending parties, no exercise, etc. Am gearing up to refocus my energies and am SO glad that New Year's is right around the corner.
  • Sojourner: Glad to see you are back. Congrats on maintaining during this holiday season! It has been tough on me too...too much food and so much temptation

40: Give those truffles to your neighbor as a gift, then they are out of your house. I threw away the last of the peanut butter cups and chocolate covered pretzels at my house today, they were past their prime and I didn't need the temptation. Great job at hitting the gym!

card: I am with you on the leftover, but I am actually having to breakdown and cook tonight. Tonight is the Bowl game with Texas A&M (my alma mater) so DH and I are having friends over and I am going to make philly cheesesteaks. Is the food ever going to end????

So just when Christmas is over we have New Year's to worry about. Friends are coming in for the weekend so there will be more food and more eating out. I am saving my big splurge for New Year's Eve. I have not gained any from Christmas and am trying to keep it that away. Have gone to the gym for the past two day and hit the cardio real hard. After for days of missing the gym I actually was looking forward to hitting the treadmill. It felt good to get going and back into my routine. Hope everyone had Happy Holidays and have a great New Year's!
  • Soujouner good to here from you and it sounds like you've maintained your weight well. I'm still up a few pounds and will wait until the Eve to officially weigh in.
Dolly you met your goal weight and have maintained it through this time of feasting. Awesome!!! The kids have had friends over quite abit the last couple of days and almost all the goodies are gone. I have to wear this scrazy dress form a Vegas Party I'm going to on New Years so I'm hitting the gym hard and being really good.
We're finally out of left overs so will be cooking today. I think I'll do a big pot of chilli.

    Have a good weekend all,

    Nina

    My cholesterol is normal!!!!

I am so excited about this. I was at the hospital the other day and they had a blood drive so I donated. I plus was that I was able to get my cholesterol checked and guess what?!?!?!? I have lowered it from 265 to 181. I just might call my doctor and tell her...she would be so excited for me! This is just more motivation to pass up those fries!

Chili sounds so gooood! Maybe I will do that later this weekend. Tonight I am roasting a chicken and veggies. Had a workout at the gym this morning. Since I have been off this week I have been going to the gym at 8am instead of the usual 5am and eat oatmeal before I go. I really think this gives me an added boost of energy.
  • 18 weeks again!
    Hi all:

well--I am back from my trip and have totally been in holiday feasting land! The good part is I have continued my exercise but not all is lost.

I am getting inspired for the New Years and hope that you all are up for continuing the challenge in a new spot! I have created another 18 week challenge and the link is below.

You are all such wise and fun chicks--I'd hate to lose track of you!

Major kudos to Dolly--you have done so well! You are our role model.

Nina--great job on the exercise--I bet you will great in that dress.

Sojo--I hear you--the round of parties is getting old--congrats on only being up .5 lb--I know I must be much more.

Card--you did pretty good--your weight is not up that much. I agree--lets get back on track!

  • Dolly that is awesome!!! You must be eating your oatmeal. What a great way to start the New Year. Thanks for setting up the next challenge Sno I've already introduced myself I hope everyone else will continue. My weight this morning was 172. Not the 15 lbs I wanted to loose but 5 lbs over the holiday season is quite the victory for me. I'm getting serious about it come Jan. 1st. I've been working out regularly the last 10 days while I've been off trying to establish good patterns. It feels like every muscle in my body is sore. Happy New Year !!!
