Hi ladies...

Thought I would pop on for a few minutes before heading to the bedroom. Usually go in there around 9'ish-10 and watch some tv or read. I'm a little tired and try to stay away as long as possible so that when I fall asleep it will last, yeah right! Never knew it was an age thing just thought it was me. See Susan, you learn something new everyday. And I think I am at my quota for the week, lol!

KATY...well, I hope James' fever goes down soon. Wonder what's up with him. Does he have any other symptoms or just the fever? At least Leigh gets daddy/daughter time and mom gets mommy/son time. Free comic books, eh? You know, I haven't picked up a comic book in ages! Don't even know where a comic book store is around here. Well, you could have shared some of that cake missy. Carrot and choc. cake sound so good right now. I treated myself to some peach cobbler and man was it good!

GINNY...sorry about the dummies not reading the signs. I think some people just do what they want to do and have no regard for others. Don't understand it but I see it all the time, especially drivers! Bet that was a nice surprise though...waking up to see the tree all decorated.

SUSAN...for some reason I thought he was your boss, duh! he probably put a hex on the sunflower, shame on him, lol! So is that case over th GF being the arse? Your office sounds nice, and at least you will have more space.

MICHELLE...I don't work outside the home. Just after cleaning house, doing laundry and running errands I usually hit the computer. It's my link to the world, lol. Somedays are busier than others but for the most part, I am a bored housewife. Hubby works a lot, kids are grown (but still at home except one who is in the Army) and do their own thing. I have been looking for a job though, just haven't found the 'right' one for me. the ones I do apply never get a call. The ones I do get a call and interview...not sure what happens. Seriously thinking about volunteering again, I did that for years. But not sure where yet. Also, it may look like I am online but a lot of times when I know I will be back later...I don't bother signing off.

DEBORAH...what a pretty picture of you and your son, and yes, he is a cutie. Sorry to hear about the bully picking on him. Some kids are just so mean. But glad to hear the school did something about it. He's probably just acting out because of his home life but someone needs to do something about it now before it gets out of hand. You don't have to apologize for the long post, we all have long ones from time to time.

Well, ladies, just wanted to drop in and say Hi since I had a few minutes. I am actually getting a little sleepy, but know it won't last. I once went to sleep at 10 (was very tired) only to wake at 11! Woke up thinking I had had a good nights sleep and looked at the clock, yikes! Of course spent the next few hours watching a movie. Glad DH is a sound sleeper. he's gone to sleep with the overhead (fan light) on and it is bright. The man could sleep through anything. Of course if I actually do get in a deep sleep like that I could to. Anyway, see you ladies tomorrow some time.

Whatever you do in your little corner of the world this weekend...I hope you have a good one!

Evening -

Deborah - I am sorry about your son. I would be the same if any other child did that to my baby. I just want to protect her from any hurts that might come. Kids can be cruel, can't imagine at 5 though. Hope the parents wake up and realize their son needs a lot of love right now. Anyway, I am sorry that it upset you. Hope your family has a fun weekend

Michelle - where did you go shopping at? what did you have for lunch? see how I am living through you?? lol My salad wasn't enough for lunch, I was so hungry all day long. I ate an old Easter cookie - poor me. lol

Ginny - Old age?? I thought it was stress all week waking me up early. You think I might be shrinking too? I will probably be 3ft pretty soon. I will be looking up at Gaby next - lol......cute about the Christmas tree.
My older sister use to decorate our tree when growing up. She use to put the tinsle on one strand at a time and actually count out her doritos. She always sniffed at night and we shared a bedroom. I would tell her to stop sniffing, I couldn't sleep!! She said she had a cold and I said no one had a cold 365 days a year! We never have gotten along, I had to move out of the bedroom. Wow, you sure brought up a lot of memories......you charge for this counseling?? omg!!! another thought....she use to eat 1 halloween candy a day!! It took her months to eat her loot.....couldn't stand it, I started stealing it and she knew!! What a weird o......lol she is the reason I have so much - trouble with my weight!! I knew she was the root of all evil lol jk

Katy! I will be there around 10:30. Show up when you can.I don't think Gaby will argue being at the park. It will be great to see you and meet little Leigh! What is baker and spice?? Have you ever been to Peanut Butter & Ellies? I have always wanted to go there.

k- have to get my walk in - chat later.....

Hi Cristi!!

Ya, we are just aging and we thought it was stress!! lol The case is about the GF wanting her claim for something over turned .I am not even sure but the insurance agency doesn't award it if there was displinary (sp) action going on and there was with her. she was horried. Our office assistant now is wonderful , fun and cheerful. The office is really nice. I told co worker the bathroom was the ladies , he would have to go out in the lobby for his or we can order him an out house. He said " I see where this is going"....OA and I are already paning on decorating it for girls.....lol freak him out.
Maybe just a babysitting job Cristi? Just a newborn or something, you might like that?
k- better get busy! Night

oops, forgot about what I had for dinner. I had a side salad & chicken sandwish from McDonalds. I met Gaby's sitter downtown there. Sitter takes classes at night.
Otherwise I think I did pretty good today - lets see how I do over the weekend. Weekends seem harder, less structure maybe?
See Katy & Leigh tomorrow and Rachel is all Sunday with parenting group and visitation. So , I think I will have a super weekend!
k- catch you all tomorrow. ohhhhh, Katy!! Can't believe you forgot the weigh in!!

Susan ~ We went up to Vancouver Mall to shop and we first ate lunch at Red Lobster. I did not be very good at lunch at all, and I've been paying for it all afternoon! I immediately got an upset stomach and still don't feel very good. I did do a 2 mile WATP tonight, and now my stomach is feeling even worse. I have been eating pretty healthy and so I think I need to just not go out for awhile. I have a pretty weak stomach to begin with, and I hate it! My favorite mall to go to is Washington Square, but I haven't been over there for quite a few months. Hope the weather holds out for you and Katy tomorrow, and have fun!

Cristina ~ Even though you stay at home, it's still A LOT of work! My girls are older also, and my oldest daughter is married and on her own, but I still love staying at home! My last two jobs were so bad and very abusive, that I'm so burned out and just enjoying my days right now.

I hope all of you girls have a wonderful night and get some good sleep.

Cool

Good morning ladies,

It is 8:15 a.m. I am working in the office this morning not going to the shop till 11, so I feel almost free... I got up at 7 and rode my bike 5 miles already. Good to have it done but think I may ride another 5 this evening if I am not to tired. Depends on how busy we get. The sun is shining but we had a light frost last night.. the weather plays a big part in our business.

Susan and Katy, you get to meet, how lovely. You will have to tell us all about it. I have actually met 5 of the people I have originally met on line in person. It was like I had known them all my life, after talking with them so much on the computer. I know you will have a great time.

Christina, to bad you don't live near by. You could work with me. We love to hire women who only want part time jobs. Everyone I hire though becomes a life long friend. We now have a 70 yr. old lady who has been working for the family forever it seems. She worked for dh's parents when they had a mom and pop general country store, then she came to work with us when they closed. She has retired 3 times but keeps asking to come back. She only works 3 days a week. Another lady is my son's fiance's mom. She works with us 2 days, sometimes 3. She has another job as well. She just likes working with us. And last year we hired a young gal who was just getting married. She liked it so well, we ended up doing some of her flowers for the wedding, and even though she has a full time job somewhere else now, she is helping out on her day off and weekends. That is why I have to work 7 days a week. The others are all part time.. So Christina, you could fit right in any days you'd want. That is just the crew in the shop, on the wholesale side there is more. There is my dh, two of my sons and a full time employee, plus a delivery guy.

Michelle, I went back into fitday last night and this morning. I am going to use it. You have to tweak the food list, it won't be very accurate but will give a general idea anyway.. I am not really counting calories, I am doing more portion control, and just trying to eat healthy.

Well, need to go hop in the shower, well can't really hop in. the sides are to high, I have one of those air jet tubs. Very deep... but oh so nice... anyway heading for the shower. Will check back in later.

Oh, and girls I said the insomnia was part of aging. I didnt' say old age. We are not old.. we are just right for our age. But it is really a part of the aging process.

Ok, have a great day everyone.

Ginny--I use the word crotchety at work and get the strangest looks--my Nanny used it and I grew up hearing it. Sorry about your sign. Our trouble at the end of our lane is people dumping. Over the years there has been a toilet (which my then 14 year old son found amusing so he set it up by the side of the road and sat on it while waiting for the school bus), a sofa, golf clubs, a babby carriage along with other assorted trash and tires. SInce all the construction has begun we have to go down about every two weeks with our rubber gloves on to pick up trash.

Deborah--I agree that your son is so cute. My son got picked on alot in elemetary school. By middle school he had a core group of friends and the girls liked him--he did go through an angry stage and started standing up for himself around 11 or 12.

Katy--german chocolate cake reminds me of my dad--his bday was Dec 15, mine Dec 16 and my mom's Dec 21--at my Nanny's house (mom & dad divorced when I was 3 and he lived at my Nanny's but we all did things together there with my mom included) we had a joint b-day and since that is dad's fave that's what we had every year. My mom used to get another cake for us and my brother--she was always very creative and would splurge to buy a different bakery bought cake every year

Cristina--I am the one that sleeps sound and hubby has insomnia though the last couple of years I have been having a harder time falling asleep some nights and then have the waking up several times during the night.

Susan--I agree that weekends are harder--I don't have my water sitting next to me to remind me to drink it and there are those darn grazing days because your bored or stressed or whatever--I'm glad you have a friendly office assistant to counteract the grumpy old man with the psycho ex coworker girlfriend!!!

Michele-my hubby complains that he has to help so much around the house(especially when I was working the second job)--I told him I could quit and stay at home again--he had a clean house, all errands ran before he was home and a meal on the table--I agree it was hard work!!! I think I spent fromt he time he left for work to the time he got home doing something almost every minute. Unfortunately the kids are moved out and we only have the animals now.

Daughter came home for awhile to do a load of clothes (left a second for me to do later--it was so nice to actually see her and not just talk to her on the phone. She looks really thin. She says she has been doing the kick boxing class at school and working out in the gym. She's going to take next semester off--the divorce has taken it's toll on her concentration and she's not doing as well as she thought she would. She has just taken off her rings and started packing up pictures and presents from the ex and asked him to stop calling her and he has tried once or twice but she is not returning the calls. Hopefully the ex and his dad do not say anything smart on the hearing date (May 25) or hubby may lose his temper.

Ginny--wtg on the bike riding--our "helper" at work is a very sweet 75 year old retired lady that is still sharp and accurate--she does anything we need and I don't know what I'd do without her.

We must have been posting at the same time!!

Ugh, lost my post! Hate when that happens!

Michelle - Love WashSquare! It is close by where I live. If you ever make it over would love to meet up somethime! Never been to Red Lobster, hear it has good food. I think going out to eat is hard when you are trying to lose. I am sure you did fine though. Just stay away from buffets that would be torture. I would be in there even after the lights were turned off.

Jules - Cute about your daughter coming home to do laundry. My brothers use to do that after they moved out. Huge bags, took all day to wash. Rach is learning how to sign up time to get her laundry clean. We hope!! Just odd how she keeps asking for more clothes ,,,,,, I think I will ask her - sheesh.

Ginny- Hi, so motivated when I hear about your 5 miles! Good for you - wondering how long you have been doing the bike and the 5 miles?? Katy and I met over a year ago, just by chance and just long enough to say hello. We live a mile or so apart - lol- anyway it will be good to see her and get the girls together. I met Angie too back in 2000. She came down for a few days - always sweet and funny. I felt comfortable with her.I also met my fave internet person Brian. He was so special, so funny and a true inspiration. He was on our Yahoo board. He passed away 4 years ago - it is funny though but I can still feel his support - he was so positive.

Yikes....better get!! Hi Cristi, Fenix and Katy! Chat later on tonight.

Good morning ladies (it may be afternoon by the time I type this, lol. What can I say, I type slow and I go back and forth to try and make sure I didn't miss anything or anyone. Seems I always do though.)

GiNNY...eeerr, that's what I meant...a sign of aging, not old age. You know, I can't believe that I will be 47 years young in a week! Don't feel a day over 46. Actually, I don't feel that age at all, whatever it is supposed to feel like. I do remember growing up when my parents where in their lat 30's thinking, man they are old! And if I were closer to you, I would definitely take you up on the offer of the job! WTG on the How long does it take you to do 5 miles on the bike? I have one (exercise bike) but never pay attention to the miles or calories burned, etc. I just pay attention to the time. I can only do 15 mns. at a time because the seat is horrible.

SUSAN...guess I missed that you and Katy were getting together. (See, no matter how many times I go back and forth I always miss something) I hope the weather is perfect and you guys have a nice day/get together. Hope you have a nice day with Rachel also. Give her lots of hugs from me! I would love a babysitting job! Even applied at a couple of preschools. Thought about doing daycare at home, but with the dog it's not a good idea. Think I am I going to just volunteer a couple of day sa week somewhere, just gotta figure out where. The hospitals are too far so I'm looking maybe at the Red Cross, or another one...can't remember the name of it, United something. Funny about your sister. But hey, I used to put garland on the tree one at a time, lol! Never counted my doritos but apparently had the sniffles when I worked. Guess I never realized it until a co-worker asked me if I had a cold and I said no, why. She told me I had been doing that for some time. Didn't even realize it. I don't get along with my sisters either. Did when we were younger, the middle one. The oldest, not so much.

JULES...funny about your son and the toilet! I've seen people actually plant flowers in a toilet and a bathtub and put them in the front yard! (((((HUGS))))) to your DD. I feel for her. I've never gone through a divorce and can only imagine the hurt she must be feeling. Glad though that she has her family by her side.

MICHELLE...I've worked through the years too but I loved it. That's why I hate that I cant get a job now. I like that I can stay at home but really do get bored. When the kids were younger I was always busy. They still keep be busy sometimes, but not enough to warrant me to stay home full time. Just have to find things to do. But good for you for not staying with an abusive job, I wouldn't either.

Hi KATY & DEBORAH

Going to go take a look at a couple of threads (exercise & the general thread) then take off and get some done around the house. And get a walk in on the I set my alarm for 6 am even though V had to work. I was going to go for my 3 mile trek around the neighborhood but it was raining And it's still raining. So, after I get a load of laundry started and the house cleaned I think I will curl up on the couch and finish Marley & Me and then start one of the new books. I'll try to be back later. Have a GREAT day Ladies!

Hiya Susan!

You know, I have never met anyone in person that I have met online. But I hope to be changing that soon! Still planning on visiting you ladies in Sept. Since things have change though and school starts then, may make it the beginning of Oct. Think there was some mention of Oct but can't remember and can't go look because the thread is no longer there, cough, cough. So you and KATY can let me know which is better for you two since you guys have young ones in school. I don't know what happens the first month of school....been so long since mine where in. Sorry you lost your post. I so hate when that happens.

Have a nice, fun day!

Hi Cristi.....

You can stay at my place when you visit, if you want. You will have to vy (is that a word?? lol) for the bathroom with me ,Gaby and Mr Jingles though. Can have the older girls stay with their dad. Just an idea. Late Sept/Oct is so nice here! Love the Indian Summers in Oregon. Maybe take a ride up to Seattle, so pretty up there too.

Anyway. I am so distracted right now. Got home from the park (Katy - we stayed an HOUR after you left! lol Gaby didn't want to leave - maybe she will take a nap now!) and my mother (my mom & him are divorced) had called saying my younger sister told her that my father is in ICU with heart and kidney failure.....
So, why am I sitting here and not storming the hospital?? Because dad doesn't want anyone to know. Only my younger sister (33)and younger (22) half sister know. Us 4 older ones get to be kept in the dark.
My sister went to the hospital and will call me to say how he is doing. Just one thing after another - ugh.

Chat more later. Katy is a very sweet person, enjoyed my time with her!! The only good thing so far this weekend.....taking Becky to the mall.

Aww, Susan - you're so sweet...we had a great time. Sorry Leigh pooped out so early, that's not like her and I am watching her like a hawk for signs of illness..so far she just seems tired. Next time we'll stay longer. Gaby is an absolute sweetheart and I'm glad the girls hit it off. I sure hope you get some good news about your dad. BTW, your dad sounds like mine. He had his gall bladder removed over the holidays and didn't tell me until 3 months later. 'Course I knew because no one in my family keeps any secret ever..

Cristina - late Sept/ Oct works for me. It's between some family birthdays and after the kids are settled into school. That's weird about all the "vanishing" threads.....bit of a drastic response, but oh well.

Ginny - too bad I don't live closer to you...part time work in a nursery would be a dream for me...that or a yarn shop...or a fabric shop...but NOT Baker and Spice - ugh..still recoiling in horror from the scale this a.m. I am the only person I know that is really excited by the prospect of a unit of composted cow poop (excuse me- dairy manure) being dumped in my driveway. I'm calling it my early birthday present.

Susan- hang in there...you get to see Rachel tomorrow! Hope all goes well.....

I don't know Katy maybe we should put a Vegas trip back in for discussion?? If you are thinking that "dairy manure" is an exciting present you might be in need for some bright lights and the vegas strip!!! lol

Leigh is very cute. After you left Gaby got on the tire swing and said "where is my friend?" So sweet. I just spent my time watching her play and I did call R after a week of not talking. He is so funny because he picks up like there has been no gap in conversation. I don't think I could find a man that loved me as much as he does. Too bad he is so darn laid back and in a different time zone. lol

Eating steamed broccoli, low fat cottage cheese, and albacore tuna for lunch. I put some salsa in the cottage cheese, gives it some flavor. Can't wait for weigh in day!!! Probably because I know I have lost already. So determined this time!!! I have to be because I have no "big" clothes to wear

Anyway, Gaby fell asleep , Becks at the mall and I am just waiting for a message on my father.

Hope you all are having a wonderful Saturday!
