Good Morning!! It is supposed to be nice out today so I hope so. I got in a walk first thing this morning. I forgot to tell you guys that I bought some 4C Totally Light(It is like Crystal Light but with vitamin c and no calories) Anywho, It is so good that I havent had a Diet Coke in 4 days!!! :cheer: If you knew how much Diet Coke I drank a week you would die too. So that is my small victory this week.

LT, I hope you can get on Midnight soon to ride again. I am scared of horses because they are so big so I can imagine how scary it must be to fall off. I bet he loved the attention he got though.

Noelle, I just started to put makeup on again. When I wasnt trying to lose weight I felt so bad that I just didnt bother. I am also trying to grow my hair back out.Jay likes it better long and the only time the short do came out good was the first time she did it. So I have it down past my shoulders right now. Heres your kick in the butt you asked for. :kickbutt:

Cal, I am so excited for you guys and your trip. I am sure you will have a blast.

jbbm 05-26-2006 11:33 AM

Hi Girls

TGIF! What are everyone's plans for the long weekend? I am not sure what we will be doing. MIL usually has a cookout. Maybe go up north to the lake. It is suppose to be close to 90 degrees here this weekend. I love it. I will take it. Ds is getting out of school early today so I am trying to get everything done here before I go pick him up.

Angie I remeber your pics with long hair it was really pretty. My dh likes my hair long, sometimes I would like to chop it off, lol. I have been drinking way to much diet pop too. I have got to cut that out. I like flavored bubbly water though.

Gosh Cal I remember when you said 10 weeks to vacation and now it is almost here. I am so excited for you guys.

Noelle dear how are you feeling today? I hope you are smiling:). Michael gets out of scool today, right? My son gets out on June 9. Then we will have to listen to I am bored and this and that:dizzy:. I may sign him up for another TKD session. Dd has kinder camp, and dance camp. Don't you remember when we were kids there was just make yourself busy summer vacation and no activities? Thing have changed.

Kempy any plans for this weekend?

Well hello to everyone else. Check back later on. Have a great day!

melekalikimaka 05-26-2006 04:36 PM

Hi ladies, OMG school is out! I went to the end-of-year assembly and mass and I sat in the pews right next to the incense holder....talk about intoxicating fumes :dizzy:. I have major headache (from the smoke) and summer hasn't even started yet! haha...

I am off to look for a b-day present for my mom, she is taking ukulele lessons and will be performing in a group of seniors for the mayor--she's all excited about it too, it's cute to see her like that. My sisters and I will probably be pooling our money together to get her a new uke. I have one that's around 24 years old and for the same make and model today, it costs $400+! It's crazy. Don't think I'll be getting her one like that, but maybe just something a few hundrded dollar less.

Julie, spending time at the lake sounds like so much fun, cool and relaxing, even though I don't/can't like to swim. Have you taken the kids to see Over the Hedge yet? That was a cute/funny movie.

Angie, woo-hoo for nixing the diet coke...that would be so hard for me--I'm always at the drive-thru ordering an extra-large one at that. Saves ya money by not drinking it too huh? Soda here is so expensive, sometimes almost $4 for just a 12 pack, ridiculous!

Cal, you poor thing in that 100+ degree weather...sorry to be complaining about heat here... but at least yours is "dry" heat ;) I would come over and help you pack if I could...maybe I could stash myself away in an extra suitcase? I'd love to travel Europe. One day one day.... Get some rest when you can and don't let them kids stress you out too much.

Well, gotta scoot. Hi to all and have good one.

melekalikimaka 05-26-2006 06:16 PM

My new niece from China!!!

It's me again. We just got word from my sister that they got pictures of the :bb: baby girl they will be adopting from China--it's so exciting and she's so cute!!! She looks like any of us (my sisters and I) when we were little so she should fit right in with us half-Filipinos  I'll see if I can attach a pic... nope, it's a pdf file and I have to convert it to a jpg...I just don't know how.

She was born last October so should be just around 7 mos old. It may be another 6-8 weeks before they can go and get her. I can't wait to meet her!!!

angieME 05-27-2006 07:24 AM

Happy Saturday All!! I weighed in this morning and I lost 2 pounds this week. That is surprising because up until Wednesday I hadnt lost anything this week.

Julie, My only plans this weekend are to work. Jay is also helping his Mom out this weekend as much as possible. She said she has never been so prepared for a holiday weekend before. It will be interesting to see how much money she makes this weekend because every year for the past 10 years she has topped herself moneywise.

Noelle, Oh how sweet!! I didnt know your sis was going to adopt. I cant wait to see pics of the little sweetie. What are they going to name her?

Oh you should see the soda cans we have out behind the bakery. I bet I have 6 trash bags full(we do bottle redemption here) and I just cashed them in this spring so that is only a few months worth. But after the headaches stopped I dont even crave it now because I love the 4C stuff so much. I hope I can stick with this change too because I am not so bloated at the end of the day BUT...I cant stop peeing . I pee alot with Diet Coke but holy cow this stuff just goes right through.

Well, It looks very muggy outside today so I am going to go get my walk over with. It sucked so bad yesterday because I wanted to walk alot but it was so muggy out. The poor dogs just laid on the floor and panted for an hour after we got back.

jbbm 05-27-2006 11:38 AM

Hi Girls

Angie:carrot: GREAT JOB! Proud of you! I hope you guys sell alot this weekend. It is going to be in the 90's here tomorrow, I wonder if it is headed your way.

Noelle that is so wonderful about your new little niece. I can't wait to see her too. That is just awesome about your mom taking lessons, I love to hear about older people staying active and learning new things. We have not seen Hedge yet. But I would like to go. Maybe we will get out of the heat this weekend and go.

Well girls I am off to get showered and get the weekend going. I made blueberry pancakes this morning. They were tasty. Have fun and be safe this weekend everyone! I will try to check back in.

melekalikimaka 05-27-2006 11:39 AM

:high: Way to go Angie!!! :carrot: :cb: :dancer: Don't work too hard today :D

melekalikimaka 05-27-2006 11:44 AM

Julie, Rick would've loved to eat breakfast at your house. He is a pancake fiend and will drive around taste-testing all the local restaurants to see who has the best pancakes :hun:  Enjoy the sun tomorrow.

We saw the Xmen movie last night, it was great! Full of action and Hugh Jackman is so beautiful, even with that horrible wolverine hair--his arms are just huge! :strong: Oooooh, and I got a phone call from my best girlfriend and she told me she was expecting-- :bb:twins :bb: I'm so happy for her! She's a month older than I am and she and her husband have been trying for the past 2 years I think, they have a little boy who's 6 so this will just about make her family complete. It's got me thinking about babies all over again . At least there will be plenty for me to hold

I'm gonna go put on my shoes and get a walk in before the sun comes out shining full blast. Have a great day everyone! :running:

maggzs 05-28-2006 12:36 AM

Afternoon ladies,

How cute Noelle, It seems so easy for Americans (& any other country for that matter) to adopt from O/S but to do it from here it is virtually impossible & where it is possible its sooooo expensive. I am just so at a loss when you see littlies in 3rd world country orphanages & no chance of ever getting out of that abstarct poverty & here the govt is telling us to have more babies to support the aging population yet wont make it easier to adopt from O/S so silly.

Its a georgeous day here today but this past week has been very cool. Funny to read how you are all getting ready for summer hols. I live in Queensland so we dont usually get down that low average day in winter is probably 20 c but to me thats cold lol.

I get my stitches out tomorrow thank God as its starting to itch but as I changed the dressing on Thirsday night it looked like I might loose my finger nail completely sooo stupid.:dizzy:

kids have a friend who slept over last night & they are just nearing the end of their tolerance levels I think (not to mention mine) so I had best go sort out a more sedate activity for them. I am going to try & weigh in tomorrow (its really only to bring myself to do it its not as if I have to go anywhere to do it) but I know it wont be good.

Chat tomorrow.

angieME 05-28-2006 08:38 AM

Good Morning!! It is so nice and sunny here today. Yesterday I went out and cleaned the inside of Jay's truck out for him. Can we say Jack Russell Hair? It looks like he exploded in there. Noelle, You know what I mean about Jack Russell hair. It is skinny on one end and fat on the other and it hooks itself into fabric. I had to vacuum and used duct tape to pull all the hair out. It looks damn fine too. Plus I washed the outside. Let's just say Daddy was very happy when he got home from a 12 hour shift at his moms.

Julie, Yesterday and today are int he 80's so we are getting close. I wished jay had some time to go get the attatchments for the pool fountain. I was out there watching the twins swim yesterday and thinking Geesh, I wished I had the fountain going.

Noelle, Your girlfriend is going to be BUSY~! I had the twins when Brit was about 1 year and 10 months old so I had 3 babies to deal with and pretty much the only person who helped me out was my sister and of course jay. Jay worked nights at the time so I was drained. They had their days and nights screwed up and I couldnt get them on the right track. Oh it was so hectic. :fr:

Good Job on the walking!! You Rock!! :running:

Maggz, Good Luck on your weigh in tomorrow and calming the kiddos down.

I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend.

angieME 05-29-2006 10:29 AM

Happy Monday everyone!!! Wow we had the best weather for this Memorial weekend. I dont remember a year in the past that the weather was so warm. Jay fixed it so I had all of yesterday off from work while he went to his moms place to work for 10 hours so I sat outside around the pool all day with the twins and now I am so burned. My shoulders are killing me because my bra strap keeps rubbing. OUCH!! I had a great day though. God I miss weekends.

I hope you all are having a great weekend.

melekalikimaka 05-29-2006 11:51 AM

Happy Memorial Day everyone. Hope you get an extra day to relax...(sorry Angie, are you baking right now? :^: ) I did so bad eating yesterday. We took Michael to a classmates b-day party during lunch--hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream cake. Then we celebrated my mom's 73rd b-day with a BBQ in the evening. My cousin is in from L.A. and it was her 40th so we had a mini-celebration for her too. My dad's aunt is also here from Guam with her husband who is getting treated for cancer so we had a whole lot of people at our house. It was like 2 separate parties going on. We had the canvas patio umbrella out on the front lawn with a table, all of us girls hanging out making a whole bunch of noise, then there was the more sedate celebration going on inside. We also had a guava cake, a carrot cake and a chocolate-haupia (coconut pudding) pie. I had a slice of the carrot cake, can I count that as a vegetable serving? :ink: I can't wait til the watermelons are in the stores because I need a nice, low-cal dessert that won't set me back like cake and ice cream will. I gotta get the shoes on and go walk some of those fat cals off.

Angie, that was very nice of you to clean out the truck like that, that's a workout in itself sometimes. And Jay was very sweet to give you the whole day off during your busy busy season. You guys are too cute together. Ouch, take care of that sunburn, hope it isn't so bad that you peel after a few days. Moisturize!!! But more importantly, use sunscreen! OK off my :soap:  (but not too tight since I don't wanna hurt you ;) )

Maggzs, I didn't know that your government encourages you guys to have more babies to support the aging population. How interesting. And it is kind of strange that they don't make O/S adoption easier, especially since there are SO many babies available in other countries. Hope the kiddos had fun with their sleep over and didn't strangled each other, or you them ;)

Hello to everyone, hope some of you can come out and say hello.... Enjoy the day! :sunny:

LadyTyger 05-29-2006 04:55 PM

Hello, hello! Just popped in to see how everyone is doing! I forgot that you Americans have your long weekend this weekend. We Canucks had it last weekend. Hope you are all enjoying your holiday Monday! :D The weekend here was quite chilly. DH and I cleaned the carpets in our apartment. Made the cats go bonkers. Some of the furniture is still displaced, so they are still wandering around with wild eyes. :yikes: DH and I were arguing off and on over the weekend. :frypan: Sometimes boys are so silly! Mostly I think he is frustrated with me, so just trying to give a helpful :kickbutt: But sometimes what *he* thinks is motivating is just plain mean! Hmmm. We seemed to have setteled our differences for the time being though...:halffull:

Noelle - Your sister must be so excited to meet her new daughter! And your friend expecting twins is awesome too! Don't sweat the bad eating  , when I am socializing, it is always the hardest time to say no. Maybe that is why I am such a hermit lately! :D

Angie - :balloons: :cheer: GREAT JOB!!!! :cheer: :balloons: 2 more pounds gone!! You are rockin' it big time, girl!! It was grat of you to clean out Jay's truck for him while he was working, I would love Barkley forever if he'd clean out my car. Of course my car still hasn't gone to the shop yet. Hope your sunburn isn't too bad! :o

Maggzs - I'm glad your finger is healing well. Think of it this way, fingerNAILS grow back, fingerTIPS don't! :D Hope the kids didn't cause too much mayhem this weekend for you!

Julie - Yum! Blueberry pancakes! :hungry: Hope you had great weather for your long weekend! :)

Hi to everyone else! Have a good one ladies!

Clairelinn 05-29-2006 05:48 PM

Hi! My name is Claire and I am also new to 3FC. I got married about a year ago and have gained 28 pounds in the process. I stopped exercising and started eating the same quantities as my husband. It just kinda crept up on me. I decided to take control about a month ago and started exercising again. My husband has been so kind to help me put a gym together in one of our out buildings on the ranch. Actually, we still need to put the gym together...but my EFX machine is there as well as my free weights. All of this to say...I found you all by accident and would love the encouragement to get back to the size 6 I was for our wedding. We have scheduled a 2nd Honeymoon cruise for August 20th and I need to have at least 15 pounds gone by then.
You all sound so nice and supportive. I would love to be a part of supporting you too!
Take care!
Claire

maggzs 05-29-2006 09:13 PM

Welcome Claire :welcome3:
It's a fine place to come hang out. I too found it by chance & just kinda hung about. I live in Qld Australia, have 2 kids (son aged 11 & daughter aged 8) + a hubby so that kinda makes it 3 kids! I have always had an up down battle with wieght... more an obsession really & am currently about 17 pounds above what I feel comfortable at (about 8 kilos in our format). I dont really excercise though I do like to walk. However in saying that I work fulltime & at the moment here winter is approaching so in the mornings before I leave it is dark & again in the nights when i get home so walking is not happening at the moment either :( I bounce around have have great weeks & truely dreadful eating ones but I can still come on here and bare all (metaphorically speaking of course) so theres a bit about me.

For the regulars I did wiegh in & no damage done... no loss either but no increase so all in all pretty damm fine I'd say. Give me a boost to get back on the wagon :carrot:

Have a great day folks & take care.

Clairelinn 05-29-2006 10:41 PM

Thanks, Maggzs! Sounds like you have a busy life. It's weird thinking you are about ready to go into winter when it's blazing hot here already. My sister was in Australia last year during your summer and said it was incredibly humid. Which do you prefer? Winter or Summer?
I will pray for you as you hop back on the wagon and head down the trail to getting back to where you want to be. I know you can do it! At my daughter's graduation the principal said this at the end..."There is no traffic jam going the extra mile." In other words, we can settle for the mediocre with the masses or take the extra steps to be exceptional. We are all exceptional creations...we just need to live our lives that way. So go for it!
Thanks again for your encouragement!
Claire

calnative 05-29-2006 10:46 PM

Welcome Claire. Many of us have been around for some time, but we love to have new friends join us. :welcome: I have been chatting and getting to know most of these ladies for about 2 years. In fact, I've met two of them (one from HI and one from ME). I am married (10 years in July) and have an 8-year old daughter who just finished 2nd grade. I live just outside of Phoenix in sunny Arizona. I teach Reading and Writing to 7th graders and we will be finished on June 7. The girls here not only keep me motivated, but allow me some sanity after spending 7+ hours with tweens. Again, welcome.

I hope everyone is enjoying the 3-day weekend.
Angie: I know what you mean about the burn. Take care. If you can get some aloe vera lotion (the actual plant is best) it will help some of the pain. I haven't had a burn like that in years, but I used to fry myself every summer when we'd go tubing on the Salt River.

Noelle: Sounds like you had a great weekend. What fun to have so many people around. Don't sweat the eating; you are still such an inspiration to all of us.

We leave in 10 days!!! I've just about got most things packed. I can't believe it's just about time for vacation. I realized today that we bought our tickets the first of Sept. I can't wait to go.

Take care everyone and I hope you all have a chance to post soon.

Goodnight.

Cal

Clairelinn 05-29-2006 11:52 PM

Thanks, Cal... Enjoy your babies while they are young. I just had number 2 graduate from high school this past weekend. It was weird...but I was doing just fine until I saw her walk out of the arena. The way she walked reminded me of seeing her off to kindergarten 13 years ago. It hit me hard and I got all teary eyed. I am so proud of her and my other two kids as well. I used to hear other women say how fast time flew and didn't believe em for a minute. It started to go warp speed about the time they hit middle school. Forgive me for getting sappy...but it's just one of those life moments you don't want to let go of. :o)
Hope you all had a great Memorial Day! I worked. My work week is Saturday thru Wednesday. I work for a new home builder and absolutley love it. I am used to the weird weekends...but it's all worth it.
Good night everyone! Good luck on meeting all of your goals tomorrow!
Claire

angieME 05-30-2006 08:16 AM

Good Morning!!! My shoulders hurt so bad last night. I could only sleep in one position all night and it really sucked when Puddin tried to wake me up this morning because she likes to climb all over me and give kisses. Of course this morning she chose the worst arm to climb all over. I think it is a Northern thing that we forget how quick the sun works and we get a bad burn every spring. :beach: :flow2:

Noelle, Yes as a matter of fact I was cooking when I read your message. I had to come in for a pee break. It sounds like you had a fun and hectic weekend.

Okay like everyone else said dont worry about the bad eating it is what you do today that counts so jump back on the wagon and we will help hold you on. You have come so far.

LT, Hahaha. Arent cats funny when you move their house around. I love the huge eyes and the jumpiness. Silly kitties. :o I hope you and your hubby got to kiss and make up.

Claire, Hi. I am glad you found us. These girls are so nice and the best friends anyone could ask for. Lets see a little bit about me. My name is Angie. I am a married Mom to 3 kids, ages 12,12 and 14. I am a Baker with my husband. We had a wholesale shop built at our house so I guess I work at home. We make donuts and pastries for our area convenience stores and my MIL bakery. I have lost and gained my weight a few times ...right now I am on my 3rd time trying to lose it. I am going to keep trying til something works and I can keep it off. :running:

Cal, WOW 10 days!!! It is coming so fast. I hope time slows down for you while you are there. Doesnt it seem like time is just flying right now? May came and went so quick. Has it cooled down a little bit for you yet?

Rebel is sulking on the sofa so I suppose I should go walk him. I will check back in a while.

Clairelinn 05-30-2006 11:25 AM

Hi Angie... Don't know how you do it doing the baking thing all day. I admire you for hanging in there. I have no excuse. I blew it this morning on my way to work. I stopped to get my car washed and was starving...I ate cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk...bleah! It tastes good for the moment, but you feel yucky once you're done. My usual MO would be to toss the entire day away and just eat what I want since I blew it already...but, I will stay the course and eat right for the rest of the day. I can tell my exercise is working just in how my clothes feel.
Question for you ladies...I threw away my scale long ago at the advice of my brother in law who is a personal trainer. He says that what you weigh isn't the be all and end all...it's how your clothes fit and how you look. So...should I get a scale? My husband thinks yes... They scare me. I am afraid it will discourage me rather than encourage me. Then again...maybe if I had had a scale I wouldn't be 28 pounds over what I was last year? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Have a great day, everyone!
Claire

Just In Time To Welcome The Newbie!!

Hello my girlz!! So very sorry for my being MIA (Again) but i've been dealing with some man issues- more on this in a moment...

First:

:welcome3: :welcome: :balloons: to Clairelinn! You've definately hit the jackpot of all support groups. We have been the bet of friends for a few years now and our loyalty to one another is unwaivering! Maggz and LadyT ae our newest members and they fell right into place. Our family is ever growing and I think it's awesome! Okay a little about me: I live in New york City in Harlem. I'm 24 years old and the mother of one puppy named Niko. I work as an administrative trainer at Home Depot and I go to school full time as well. I look forward to getting to know you. And congrats on your DD taking the graduation walk. Trust me she is still your baby. I'm still my mom's baby and my graduation was years ago. You have plenty of years left of her being totally dependant :D

Angie- I am so proud of you and all your progress. I've been feeling kind of left out with all of you forming your WW mafia. Anyways, hope that sunburn gets better. Never happened to me. I kinda got that all-year tan working for me ;)

Cal- I am soooo jealous of you! At the same time I know you deserve a vacation so party it up for all of us. Wow less than 2 weeks and you're off! TAKE ME WITH YOU!!:beach:

Kempy- Your poor baby! How is Rhea doing? My Niko got into it with this Bischond last night. Nothing serious. He's so light that I can yank him up by his harness beofr any blood is drawn. I made the appointment to get him Neutered on thursday. Maybe that will calm him down a bit.

Red- Sounds kind of crazy over by you. Hope everything is okay. And pretendin to be british is not a bad Idea. I said I was Canadian when I was in Korea. Speaking of Canadians...

Lady T- Is the weather as nice up there as it is down here?

Maggz- How's things down under. I forgot you're clear across the globe. I met a woman from Aussi who cam into the store asking if we had "plites" After a few "what" "huh" "one more time" I figured out she wanted "Plates" and we had a good laugh. I would imagine that americans sound funny to you too. I love accents.

j- How's life, baby cakes? I swear you make the sweetest treats! I have GOT TO come over for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks!

Okay my ladies, I have a lot of errands to run before my belly dancing class. I LOVE THAT CLASS! You gotta see me in action. I rock! :belly:

Dips'n'twists 05-30-2006 12:16 PM

Oh St*t!!

I got so wrapped up in meeting and greeting that I forgot all about my rant:

First- I went running last week and I noticed that our running path in harlem is plain crap. There is trash everywhere and homeless people sleeping on the side and it's just disgusting. I do like liveing in Harlem. It's the "Black Mecca" of New York and there is a lot of history here. However I just hate that the local government didn't start putting money into beautifying it until white people started moving in. I mean we got trees, parks, banks, more shops, it's like a whole new place. It's getting too expensive to live downtown so they've relocated up here while housing is still affordable. Don't get me wrong, i like the change but I don't like the motives behind it. I feel like everyone deserves to live well, to live comfortably. they are already repaving the running paths downtown. I know it's only a matter of time before they do mine. It's bitter sweet. It should have been done a long time ago. That's one of the reasons I like Canada so much. People are people and everyone is treated as such.
Maggs ahould sprinckle some of that Canadian love over the US

As far as my man issues, my soon-to-be-ex new boyfriend was supposed to take me out the other night but was late. Like 3 hours late. I told him I didn't want to see him and not to call me. I'm not unreasonable but he told me that he had to take a friend to the hospital which is fine but that is no excuse for not calling me and letting me know. Besides he full of ****. I know he stayed late at work because he is a workaholic and he promised me he would take a half day to be with me. Had he called I'd have heard the hustle and bustle of his workplace so he came up with that dumd *** story. The very least he could've done was come up with a decent lie. Men

LadyTyger 05-30-2006 12:59 PM

Good morning ladies!! Hope you are all having a great Tuesday. I am having an OK day so far. I had a job interview this morning. I'll tell ya'll what the job is if I get it. :D Don't want to jinx anything.

My hubby bought a body fat monitor/estimator thingamjig last night. So I tried it out, and it says I am 50% body fat! :o I didn't even know that was possible!! :?: I am as fat as the thing will even read! :( I didn't think it was that bad! Guess I just have a lot of hard work to do! :^:

Clairelinn - :welcome2: You have found a great group of ladies to motivate you on your journey! I know we all look forward to getting to know your better! A bit about me - I am 27, married with no kids (yet, soon I hope). I live in Canada, in a 1-bedroom apartment with my 3 cats and my husband. The other love of my life is my horse who I board at my aunt and uncle's barn about an hour drive away. I have gained and lost, and gained and lost, and gained and lost weight so many times. I am hoping this time it goes for good!

Dips - Boys are trouble, even when you marry them! Sometimes you just have to :frypan: or :kickbutt: ! :D I hope you get a good one soon! I think it is awful that they have not begun to revitalize your neighbourhood! I wonder if there is something you can do to become an active voice for a change? Though with your busy schedule, I know that it can be extremely difficult to pile one more thing on!! As for the weather up here, we had a pretty mild winter this year, and spring has been pretty great so far, though this weekend was kinda chilly.

Angie - I hope your burn is feeling better today! Get some aloe gel on it!! The cats have settled down again now that their stuff is back in place. It got so bad at one point this weekend, one of them was hissing evey time anything moved in the apartment.

cal - YAAAY! You're almost there! And what a long time to look forward to a trip!! You must be so excited. I wish I was getting a vacation! Though I shouldn't complain as my hubby and I were in Hawaii just this spring! :D

Maggzs - Well, there it is then, yiu did not do as much damage as you thought!! That's great! Here is your BOOST back onto the wagon!

Well, have a good one ladies!! :)

Kempyd 05-30-2006 05:25 PM

Hey guys. I am going to tell you guys what I did this weekend but only if you promise not to be jealous. You are so going to want to be me. We painted our garge. woohoo!! To top that off we had to buy a new microwave and fridge, that was money I didn't want to spend. So, I am looking foward to a "normal" week.

Hi Claire nice to see new poeople around. What part of TX are you in? I am your neighbor in Louisiana. I am on the southeast side of it though. I have been playing the weigh gain game for years too and I just started WW. I have lost 18lbs but I still have about 6 more to go. I am married to a great man for 9 years and we have no children except our animals. They make up for the lack of children.

Dips that is terrible about your running trail. We have areas like that, in fact, one of them is right up the street from me. I mean, the city has to know that there are abandoned house and garbage all over the place so why don't they clean it up. I feel like i pay my taxes for some sort of thing to happen.

Angie you better take care of that burn.

Noelle you better post a pic of your sisters new baby. I have a friend who is trying to adopt from Russia right now.

Red are you still lurking?

LT my cat is just a big fusser anyway. You don't even need to move the house around for him to freak out. What a weirdo.

Cal you are just so lucky and I can't stop saying that.

Guys, I need to get dinner finished. I'll be back later.

angieME 05-31-2006 07:52 AM

Good Morning girls!!! We are expecting rain showers for the rest of this week and Thursday and Friday are supposed to have a high of 59!!! :rain: I guess our summer took a little break. Well, the numbers are in and my MIL says this was the biggest Memorial weekend totals ever!!! Geesh, they make so much money up there that I am envious(but not of the hours she puts in. )

I got my new scales yesterday so when I weighed this morning there is a 3 pound difference from my old ones so I am not sure how much of that is actual weightloss or just new scales. Oh well, I will take 3 pounds less. :goodscale

Claire, I am the all or nothing type too. That is why I keep gaining it all back because I mess up once and then I lose all control. I am hoping weight watchers works for me where they dont focus on fat as much as I have in the past. I am eating more and I eat stuff I never would have in the past like peanut butter. :hun:

Scales, I just bought a new pair for me because I like to see my daily progress. But it does also work the other way too. Sometimes I get discouraged if it doesnt move but I would say it is a personal preference.

Dips, Hey girl!! I'm sorry to hear about your man troubles. I am with LT, you will meet a great guy soon. I agree with you that the improvements should be equaled out for everyone not just one section. I hope they get your trail tarred soon though. :running:

LT, I will keep my fingers crossed for your job interview. Good Luck!!:crossed:

Oh Kempy now you have gone and done it!!!! I am so jealous!!!  I should redo my deck this year but I dont want to do it alone and Jay is too busy. I did go get all my veggie seeds yesterday and a few plants. Now I have to go out and plant them and see if I can grow some veggies. Watch them die on me!!!

Kempyd 05-31-2006 09:40 AM

I just wanted to say hi b4 I headed put to run my errands. I have to be home for 11 or 12 to let the guys in with the Fridge. Those guys call at 6:45 this morning to tell me they were coming today. NO Duh! I set them up to come today for a reason. Todday is my day off so I was trying to sleep in a bit but not after that. I was wide awake then. So, I am off to the bank and pay a few bills.

Anige I would take the new number too. I mean it is what you are using now right. How old was your other scale? Mine is actually what the meetings say so I feel ok about mine for right now. I will be buying a new one as soon as this sucker even gives me a wrong number. Are you still loving WW? Have you tried any new foods yet?

Ok, I really need to get out of this house. I'll be back to chat later.

Dips'n'twists 05-31-2006 09:47 AM

Hey My Gurlz!!

Angie- your veggies will be great! Have faith Baby. :carrot: Sucks about the rain. It's been hot and humid in the city. We get some scattered showers here and there but overall it's been pretty warm. Too warm at times if you ask me. But the good thing is, your appetite deminishes when it's hot and all i want is gallons and gallons of water.

Claire- I know a lot of fitness experts say that the scale can be your enemy which is true but I think it's about personal preference. I have a scale and I weigh myself every morning. I couldn't get rid of my scale if I tried.

Kempy- Oh my GOODNESS! The garage, OH WOW. How cruel you are to rub such bliss in our faces. New Microwave and frige ain't bad either.

Lady T- What kind of thingamajig was it? When I was with Bally they had this doohickey that you enter your weight into then you hold it out in front of you for a few seconds and it determines your body fat. It came in at 28% body fat but that was a while ago. Who knows what I am now.:o

Okay so the loser (my boyfriend) called me last night asking me to let him make things up to me. I told him that I think it's best that we don't see eachother anymore. He said I was overreacting and that if I give him a chance he will never do this ever again. Then he tells me he's going to come to my house. I told him I didn't want to see him and he said he was coming anyway. I hung up the phone on him. He came by too, I didn't open th door though and I told him to go home. He called me from the car and asked me again to give him another chance. ( I swear, he can do all this but he can't call and tell me when he's going to be late  I don't get it) Anyway I told him I would think about it. I'll be thinking long and hard.

That's it for now :D BYE!

angieME 05-31-2006 10:33 AM

Kempy, I hate it when people call early in the morning like that. Hey on the bright side at least you get to get your bill paying done.

My old scale was about 10 or 11 years old. they were usually right on with my Docs scales but lately they have been giving an error message more than the weight. The new scales are weight watchers and they are made by the same company so I am hoping they are as well made as the others.

Yes, I have tried some new foods. I bought asparagus this week and steamed it last night. I ate about 5 spears but it wasnt pleasant. I probably wont be adding that to my groceries again. I have been trying to get in my veggies.

Dips, You let that guy have it. :boxing: If he doesnt appreciate what he's got then he doesnt deserve you.

Kempyd 05-31-2006 11:22 AM

Dips I thought you guys would really enjoy me painting. I know that everyone wants to do that on a holiday weekend. Man, he really can't take no for an answer. I mean, I know you are an awesome woman but he has got to stop that.

Anige what did you cook the asparagus with? I love that stuff! I don't like the canned though. YUCK! We only use that in crawfish boils. We will pull the wrapper off and punch a hole in the top and bottom of the can and throw it into the boil, talk about good. Rachel Ray prepared them in the oven with some olive oil, garlic and something else (sorry not much more help). It looked great. I bet you can find that recipe if you want it.

I am watering yet again. I swear we are so dry here now. It is raining all around us and totally misses us. Joe seems to think it has something to do with the lake south of us. I wonder if he is right about that.

Clairelinn 05-31-2006 02:34 PM

Hello Everyone... I have been reading everyone's comments and I love that you all care for each other so much... That in of itself is encouragement...to know someone is there for you.

Dips...you probably don't want to get me started on men...but...I would encourage you to stay true to your gut...which is...say bye bye! Your gut knows the right thing to do...but somehow we women just become total idiots when the men come crawling back begging for us to give them one more chance. Remember...the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. Something tells me that this guy has proven over and over again that the results will not change. You, my dear Dips, deserve the very best. Don't compromise.

Angie...I am with you on asparagus. I have yet to find a recipe that makes it tastes good to me. Is it my imagination...or does the stuff taste like metal?

Kempy...I am from the Austin area. I actually live in a town called Liberty Hill...on a ranch out in the middle of yahoosville. I work in a town called, Georgetown...one of the fastest growing cities in TX. It is such a quaint town with a town sqaure and cute little shops. The restaurants are great here and the people are so nice. On our ranch we have 10 chickens and 3 cows and 2 dogs. The eggs are in abundance...so, Angie...if you need any....
Btw...what is a MIL?

LadyT...don't forget to fill us in on how your interview went. I am praying for you!

Btw...I am at work and this is my Friday. My weekend starts tomorrow! Woohoo!
I also wanted to let you know that next week I am going to Dallas to see a OB/GYN that specializes in Biodentical Hormone Replacement Therapy. I have had three friends see his associate and they say it's changed their lives. All three lost weight...only because it restore your metabolism back to when you were 30...and their sex drive returned. For those of you that aren't at that stage yet...well....enjoy it while you have it! But, more important, for me...it will help stop the mood swings, the night sweats, etc. I will go up for the first appointment that will take 2.5 hours, do blood work to find my base levels, and then return in a week or so after to have a rice-sized pellet put in the fatty part of my butt (which...btw...is a huge target for them to put it in...). It last for four to six months. I am banking on it. My sister is now referring to it as the "butt pill". So...I will keep you updated on my butt pill and let you know if it works!

Have a grooooooovy day!
Claire

melekalikimaka 05-31-2006 03:40 PM

Hey girls, happy Hump Day...things are just crazy around here! Our house and the neighbor's house is having a flooding problem and the City is taking their sweet time identifying if the water main from the street is the cause. They are trying to say that it is a natural spring which is coming up--yes, there is a natural spring behind the house, but the flooding is occuring upslope from where the spring is. In the meantime, our yard is become a swamp, and the neighbor's yard which is all concrete, is filled with water. We have had to move the dog houses, a lot of the stuff in the storage shed and the plants that could be moved.

On a more positive note, I think I am all junk-fooded out :ink: My mind is back in the game and I am ready to start with this healthy eating again. It was a scary few weeks of mindless eating and I think it all started with my dad getting sick. Summer is so hard to stick to dieting with all the graduation celebrations and b-days in my house. I did not weigh in for 2 weeks *gasp* but I WILL be back on Tuesday--CALL ME ON IT if I don't okay guys? :kickbutt: I have been a good girl with the exercising though :running:

I want to say :welcome2: to Claire. Good luck on your HRT treatment, a butt pill? I am not yet at that stage in my life but I do have older sisters that are...I will have to ask them if they have ever heard of a ( | ) pill ;) A little about me, I have the unfortunate luck of living in Hawaii (I know, I know, it's a dirty job but someone's got to do it :s: ) I am a 34 year old kid at heart, married for 11 years to my high school sweetheart (been together for 17 years), we have one 7 y.o. son who is already on summer vacation and told me this morning that he was "bored".... I have been on WW since Nov. 05 and have lost around 45 lbs, but been struggling for the past month or so. Hubby is a plumbing contractor and I manage the office for him. I have become fast friends with the ladies here since I started posting back in 2002, and have been lucky enough to meet up with Carol (calnative) on a visit to Disneyland 1.5 years ago. I hope to meet the rest of them someday, somewhere--Vegas anyone??? Oh, and "MIL" means mother-in-law. :rollpin: p.s. I was born in your neighboring state of Arkansas, so I can say "howdy".

Dips, girl, you will find that special man who will treat you like the Goddess you are. Like Claire said, no compromising! You're young and fly and you will have no problem finding some other young buck. I'm crossing my fingers that you find someone worthy of your attentions  I totally know what you are talking about when you say the City does not pay equal attention to certain areas. I live in an older town where everyone is lower to middle income--our sidewalks and bus stops are all broken down, there are abandoned cars everywhere and they don't haul them away quickly. The richer east side of town is where the City pours all the money into, even though the need for repairs is slim to none--it's just plain ridiculous, we all pay taxes, shouldn't they be used where the need is greatest?

Angie, how can you not like asparagus? I absolutely love it! Fresh or canned, I will eat it, but not with Hollandaise sauce which tastes like candle wax to me (yuck). Good for you for trying new veggies though. Hey, that is cool about the new scale. I'm thinking about throwing out my scale since it's weighing me higher than it has been these past few weeks--oh wait, that's my fault  Does your MIL have a storefront bakery? Is that why she makes tons of money over the long weekends? Well, I hope Jay got his cut for working his butt off too.

LadyT, how'd your interview go? Any good news? Either way, you will find that dream job of yours and soon. :crossed: I have never had my bodyfat estimated...don't want to neither

Julie, how are you doing today?

Cal, I am exicited for you and your upcoming trip... all of you deserve a nice, relaxing vacation with plenty of family time. Take lots of pictures okay?

Kempy, painting during a long weekend? Shoot, you should've called me over for the party! ;) I would even come and wait with you for the fridge delivery  I am trying to figure out how to convert the pdf file picture I have of the baby...just don't know how yet. I will though. How long has your friend been trying to adopt? My sis and BIL have been trying for 3-4 years I think, I can't believe they're finally going to get the baby.

Maggzs, I'm glad you got your finger all sorted out AND the scale didn't show any damage. Great job on that. If you're up on that wagon again, haul me up and keep me on will ya? Enjoy your day at work.

Well, I have to get some work done as it is the last day of the month. Hi to anyone I may have missed.....be back later to see what's up. :sunny:

melekalikimaka 05-31-2006 04:30 PM

p.s. Angie, with you all fired-up this time around, I'm betting you'll be starting the new thread tomorrow for June. How about we put up a 4th of July challenge? I would like to lose those pesky 8 lbs (which I said I wanted to lose by Memorial day  ) + any of those other sneaky lbs which I may have gained by July 4th. How about you guys?

Clairelinn 05-31-2006 06:33 PM

I am up for any challenge. I have been stinkin at my eating goals...but have been doing fine on my fitness goals. I guess if I am going to be a part of any challenge I am going to have to break down and buy a scale. ugh. I used to measure things by inches. We'll see... Any thoughts from you all??? I have 2.5 months to lose 15 pounds. So...bring on the challenge!
Claire

angieME 05-31-2006 06:39 PM

Hey Kempy, I just steamed it and ate it with salt. It was gross. It tasted like spinach to me and I dont like that either. I will stick with my brocolli, cauliflower, peas, beans, etc.

Claire, Yes we all do love each other. These girls are awesome. I heard that asparagus makes your pee smell too. Good Luck with your butt pill  I hope it works for you.

Noelle, Oh my god!!!!! The baby is so cute. Your sis must be dying to get her. I bet time is going to feel like it stopped until she can go pick her up to bring home. Yes, MIL has a bakery front. Okay I will do a challenge. I will aim for 8 pounds too.

My shoulder has little blisters on it from my burn. GROSS!!! I knew it was stupid to sit out there but it was our first really nice day and I was hanging with the twins. I will NOT be doing that again though!!

Dips'n'twists 05-31-2006 10:53 PM

Hey My Gurlz!!

Noelle- You are full of good ideas! I think a challenge is just what we all need to really get things moving forward! I am also all for that trip to Vegas. Can't you just picture us cutting up in Sin City?! I would love it love it love it!

Clairelinn- You make so much sense! It is so true how we break down at every sappy gesture aman throws at us. I did compromise with him though...I'll explain in a minute...BTW tracking inches is just as good as tracking pounds. Whatever works for you.

Angie- You poor baby. Hope you heal up okay. At least you got some quality time in with the girls. How long does it take for these things to clear up anyway? BTW I never had asparagus. Heard it wa okay though. I may give it a try soon. BTW I'm still trying to come up to visit you this summer! Make room at the dinner table!

Kempy- If you don't get rain soon, you can always borrow some form Angie. :D

MAggz- Hope you're healing well too, hon. So many injuries. Sheesh

Hi Lady T, Cal, Red, J And Cherie. Miss you guys!

OKAY- So my BF stops by my job AGAIN and apologizes to me in front of my co-workers. I was kind of embarassed but touched at the same time. He asked me to let him make things up to me by picking me up from work tomorrow and taking me out.All the while my friends are all "awww" and egging him on and pushing me to forgive him. So I told him that he has been demoted back to the courtship phase. If he wants me as his girlfriend, he'll have to impress me all over again. Meanwhile I'll be free to date whomever else I want. He agreed and I told him if he is even one second lae picking me up, don't even walk through the damn door. I'll keep you posted.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE ADVISE. I LOVE YOU ALL TO PIECES (can't tell you enough)

calnative 05-31-2006 11:08 PM

Noelle: That new niece of yours is ****CUTE**** What a princess!!!

Sorry I can't post more right now. I am getting as much of my 'end of year' stuff done so I can rest as much as possible next week before we leave. I'll try to catch up over the weekend.

Take care everyone.

Cal
