Noelle Count me in!!!:carrot: :goodscale

Kempyd 05-17-2006 04:49 PM

I want to join in but I know how hard I am struggling. Maybe I can do it and just say like one lbs or something. That sounds like I am cheating doesn't it?

angieME 05-17-2006 04:55 PM

Kempy, That sounds good to me. You will lose more slowly now anyways so I say go for it.

How does this sound for a breakfast? It figures out to about 5 points, if I did it correctly. 1 serving of oatmeal with cinnamon and 1 TBS. of peanut butter mixed in. I think I read on here somewhere that someone has that for breakfast. Do you think there would be too much fat in it to have every morning? I made some up to try and it does taste good....at least to me because I dont really care for oatmeal but this way it kinda tastes like a peanut butter cookie.

melekalikimaka 05-17-2006 04:58 PM

No Kempy, it's not cheating. If you feel like setting your goal for 1 lb, then set it like that. It's better to set a goal than none at all, methinks. I personally need to set a goal for myself, otherwise I just kind of flounder and do nothing. I think I'm going to try and lose the SAME 8 lbs by July 4th. It's not that far away at all, just about 7 weeks. :fr:

Angie, that sounds like it tastes delicious. I wouldn't worry too much about the fat content right now, as long as you figure the points correctly, you will lose. You will also realize that as you go down in weight and points, you will get really stingy with using them on stuff like peanut butter, and start buying the reduced fat or ff versions  --trust me! It's like money in a checkbook, you will want to spend your points on something really worth it. My leader always asks, "if something will cost you "xx" amount in points, what would you do?" I always say, "don't eat it!" Peanut butter has the protein to keep you satisfied, as does the fiber in the oatmeal. That sounds like a good breakfast. :hun:

Kempyd 05-17-2006 08:50 PM

Why in the world do animal crackers have to be so many points. I bought that big container and they are 3 pints per 16 crackers. At this rate I will be finished with the container in the year 2010.

I guess you guys are busy tonight. I was expecting to see more posts.

angieME 05-18-2006 09:27 AM

Good Morning everyone!! It is dark out here today but it hasnt rained so that is good. I just took Rebel for a walk and we even added on a bit more to it...he was surprised when we walked past our road on the way back.

I am going to make quesadillas for supper tonight with lots of mushrooms, peppers and onions. I used Cabot reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese for the cheese. YUM! I also bought a nice Southwest marinade for the chicken so I am hoping they are good. I also boiled a cabbage yesterday for me and the twins for a filler. We all like it with just some salt sprinkled on it.

I found another set of the ww scales on ebay so I let my mom know about it and she got those yesterday. I am glad I won mine now too because my old bathroom scales are a little iffy. They still weigh right but they have their days where you have to fidget with them to turn them on.

Well, I gotta go make some cookies for the accounts. I will be back later.

Kempyd 05-18-2006 09:36 AM

I got my TaeBo in for the day. I feel much better knowing I have it done now. The tile guys are coming backt o grout the bathroom and the entry way so there was no way to workout while they were here. I ordered the Billy Blanks Bootcamp. I heard it is good so we will see.

Angie get those walks in b4 the rain starts. You are really doing good. I know once you get your WW materials you will do great.

I have to et dressed for work now. I'll be home for lunch today so I will hop on to chat.

jbbm 05-18-2006 11:29 AM

Hi Girls, Good Morning!

Just did 15 minutes minutes of hard work on my excercise bike and excercised with Gilad again. My eating has not been so good but I have been working that bike everyday this week. I want to run to the store and pick up some salad fixings for tonight.

Noelle I hope your Dad gets well soon. I did watch AI. I felt bad for Elloitt, he seemed like a nice guy. Did you know he wears an insulin pump? I am hoping Taylor makes it too. Count me in for the 4th! I am not going to set a number but I do want a loss.

Kempy great job getting some excercise in all ready this morning. Doesn't it feel good to get some in for the morning?

Angie, you dinner sounds great for tonight. Wonderful job girl keeping up the walks! Last winter I would always eat oatmeal with peanut butter, I never tried it with cinnamon though. It does taste like a peanut butter cookie, minus the Crisco, haha....but really it is filling and usually keeps me full until lunch.

Well I am off to hope in the shower, I worked up a good sweat! Check back later. Have a great day!

Kempyd 05-18-2006 06:35 PM

Where is everyone today? I wsa expecting to sit down and have lots of reading to do. I hope you all come out soon.

Julie I wish I could get Gilad. I just loved him when I used to workout with him. Iused to take it but I have long since gotten rid of those. Does he still have that girl with the long braid? She used to drive me crazy. You know how it is when you watch something so many times you start to pick out the little things going on in the back ground?

angieME 05-18-2006 07:10 PM

Mmmm Supper was good! I will be making those again. :hun:

I told Jay that I think it was fate that I got back on track. You see the Wendy's that we usually eat at when we go grocery shopping just up and closed their doors a couple of weeks ago and everytime I have tried to walk this week it has stopped raining long enough for me to get them in.

Kempy, How did your day go today? Great I hope.

Kempyd 05-18-2006 07:55 PM

It was good Angie. I was able to do TaeBo this morning and take the dogs for a walk just now. I think my eating has been pretty good too. I am craving something sweet though. I think I might have to have a popscile since they are 0pts.

Angie when the universe is ready, it is ready. I knew you would be doing great.

maggzs 05-19-2006 02:02 AM

Hi Ladies,

Long long time no looky. I have read a few posts but it seems so long I cant begin to catch up. Things have been very crazy here at work. I now have 2 staff down. If you recall I was having trouble with 1 well now I feel soooo stinky as she was admitted to hospital last week with cancer. All I wanted was for her to go & now I feel really bad for harbouring all those thoughts. eeeeeeeekkkkkkkk she is only 44 so it really puts life into perspective eye.

I have not been really good on the food front which in a way is probably pschologically why I have always found something else to do when I had 5 seconds to get online here but hey we all have cruddy weeks. I think I have to start feeling happy with where I am at rather then always wanting something else (or rather be someone else ... a skinnier me) cause if I think about the skinnier me & it doesnt happen in 2 weeks then I just want to give up. Sound familiar????

Anyways just wanted to touch base & say hello. I am off away for the weekend so everyone Take care & I will weigh in again on Monday & take stock of the recent damage. Weighing in is not something I have done for a few weeks now.

melekalikimaka 05-19-2006 03:29 PM

Hey ladies, I'm just back from my walk. I took Lucky and we walked to the bank, a 3+mile round-trip. That backpack is doing wonders for her, no pulling and no excess energy when we get back. That dog used to be able to play ball for hours even after a 3+ mile walk w/out the pack. I wish I had that kind of stamina.

Anyway, my dad was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon, he had some kind of intestinal polyps that were irritated so that caused the bleeding....sorry if that's TMI. It's a good thing though, because initally they thought he had a bleeding ulcer. He is still a little slow and weak, but definitely on the mend. THat was a scary thing for our family, as we know my parents are getting up there in age, but we don't want to think about their mortality, ya know?

Maggzs, your workload must be a huge stressor for you. I'm sorry about your co-worker--but really, you musn't feel bad about the way you felt about her job performance, you couldn't have known about her cancer. Enjoy your weekend

Julie, great job for exercising on that bike and w/Gilad :strong: Even though your eating may not be what you want it to be, you are getting good exercise and that is better than none at all. I did not know that about Elliot and his insulin pump. I think he will do well from this point on if he chooses to cut an album, he as a nice voice.

Angie, those quesadillas sounded good. I might go out and get some spinach tortillas and make some this weekend. So your Wendy's closed? I just read in the news that 3 more are being built on my side of the island....what does that mean for me??!!! I can always get the baked potato and a small chilli cup.

I gotta run and get to work. Hi to everyone

angieME 05-19-2006 06:20 PM

Good Afternoon Ladies!! I have been busy busy busy today. I made scone and pumpkin whoopie pies to sell at MIL bakery this weekend. Hopefully that will bring in some extra cash. I have only had time to get in one walk today but at least I got that in I say.

Maggz, I am the same way as you. We will get the hang of it someday.

Noelle, maybe I should get one of those packs for Rebel. He can play ball all day if we would throw it for him.

YEAH!!! :cheer: I am so glad that your Dad is home. I bet he is too.

Well, I should go do something.

angieME 05-20-2006 08:11 AM

Good Morning!! I am down 3 pounds for this week. I cant wait for my new scales to come. Of course they will probably be a different weight than these ones...Maybe for the better.

I am just waiting for the rain to break for a minute so I can get in my walk. I bought some of those weight watchers 1 point snack cakes yesterday after reading about them. GROSS!! People actually waste their time eating that junk? I would much rather make something of my own and take my chances then eat those dry little things.

I did get some of the cookies n cream ice cream bars. YUM!! Now those were huge and so worth it and only 2 points. Jay even like them. I bought some goldfish 100 calorie packs as well.

Has anyone tried the Crystal Light Fruit Punch yet? That is so good. It tastes just like kool aid. That will help me get my water in because I could drink that steady.

Well, I hope you all have a great weekend and you even get a chance to post.

LadyTyger 05-20-2006 05:41 PM

Hey girls! Hope you're all having a great weekend. I busted out my sewing machine, and decided to sew all weekend! yaay!

Angie - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :cheer: For your 3 pound loss! Yaay! You're back on track, girl, and you haven't even really started the WW thing yet! Maybe I should join too.... hmmm :chin: Maybe I will once I get some cash.

Noelle - I am so glad that your dad is out of the hospital and feeling better. And glad too that the diagnosis was not too too bad. :woo:

Maggzs - I know how you feel about wanting it to happen *now* I am the same way! I guess we just have to realize that we didn't get this way overnight, and it's not going to go away overnight either. I think you are right about learning to accept and be happy with the person you are now, but it is a lot easier to say " I accept and love myself " than it is to *do* it sometimes, no? I hope you start to have an easier time soon!

Kempy - I have always been tempted to try TaeBo, but it intimidates me a little. Is it fun? Do you take classes, or have a home video? I think I would have to do it at home, with the curtains drawn, and when my hubby is not here! LOL!

Julie - Good for you for getting that exercise in every day!! :)

My car hasn't gone in to the shop yet, so I'm going to miss my riding lesson this week, unfortunately. :( Oh well! I hope my car does not take too long to fix. I applied for 5 different jobs this week, and I'm counting on getting at least one interview. Driving to get to them would be good!

My kitties foot is doing much better!! :) Phew! We have been trying to keep the other two from chasing him too much, but haven't had much luck. It does not seem to bother him though.

Anyways, I'm off to get back to the sewing! Have a good weekend!!

angieME 05-21-2006 07:59 AM

Good Morning girls!! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. We took the twins to my hometown yesterday and just showed them places that my parents used to take me while I was growing up. They liked it. It was strange because the area where we bought our first house was so run down looking now and all the houses were the same color that they were when I was in elementary school.

The sun is actually out today so I hope it stays that way. I bought a fountain to go in the pool and I would like to get it hooked up and running.

LT, Good Luck with your job interviews. I hope you get the one you want. I'm glad your kitty is doing better.

Well, I will be back later.

melekalikimaka 05-21-2006 10:27 AM

Good morning ladies. I got shocked out of bed 30 minutes ago when the neighbor's stupid car alarm went off (or should I say on and on and on and on and on....) I couldn't get back to sleep so I figured I'd pop on here. We went to a b-day party for one of Michael's classmates yesterday. It was a little girl whose family just moved to a beautiful house in a rich neighborhood--of course it was clear across the other side of the island  They have an in-ground pool in their backyard, plus their backyard opens up into a small boat marina. They had boat tours for everyone so we all took a ride out on that, fed the ducks, fished a little and let the kids swim until they were all wrinkly like prunes. Of course I ate too much junk food (hot dogs :ink: and hamburgers :moo: and strawberry margaritas :dizzy: ) We stayed half the day, then went to see the Over the Hedge movie afterward. It was a LONG day but tons of fun. I need to get more sleep! :tired:

Angie, I have to say GREAT JOB on those 3 lbs lost :cb:. I don't know how you stay so focused when you make all those bakery goodies. On my walk I pass 2 wholesale bakeries and the smell of cookies and muffins and breads......gawd, I dream about eating those things while I'm out walking  You're doing so good!!! Thanks for the heads-up on those WW cakes

LadyT, sorry about your lack of transportation. Too bad you can't have your horse nearby so you can ride it to get where you need to go. There was a news story about some kids who can't afford gas anymore to get to school so they are up and riding their horses  Sounds like a good idea to me, as long as you take care of the "exhaust" ;) :crossed: I'm crossing my fingers for you to get those job interviews!!!

Giving a shout out to Kempy, Julie, Cal, Dips, cw, Maggzs, Red and anyone else I may have missed. I am going to attempt to go back to bed. Have a great Sunday everyone

calnative 05-22-2006 01:13 AM

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I kept pretty busy. It was so hot this weekend; averages were about 105. Funny, on the news they were saying to enjoy the cooler temps tomorrow (91) because the low 100's will be back by Wed. Only in Phoenix could one refer to the low 90's as 'cooler temps'.

Only 12 more school days. I like how our weeks will be from now on: 5 days this week, 4 days next week, and 3 days the last week (and those 3 days are all 1/2 days). Unfortunately, that also means only three weeks until we leave and I haven't even started to pack yet. I do have the suitcases airing out, but that's about it.

Anyway, have a great evening and a wonderful Monday. (That's an oxymoron isn't it??):D

Good night.

Cal

jbbm 05-22-2006 02:49 PM

Hi Girls

How is everyone's Monday going? I had a pretty nice weekend. Saturday we went on a long hike so I got fresh air and some excercise. Yesterday was laundry and cleaning but I did manage to get my excercise in. Hopefully it made up for my apple pie and an ice cream cone.:o It is cool here today but perfect walking weather so I have no excuses.

Noelle that sounds like a great party. Not the kind of kids party where you just drop them off, fun for the parents too. I read the news this morning that the Dog and Beth got married. And his daughter was just killed the day before in a car accident. How sad. I always thought they were all ready married.

Angie wonderful job on those 3 pounds! I am still waiting for my dumb scale to move, LOL. Your ride sounds nice. I love taking rides and looking at the old neighborhoods we lived in and and homes. Dh and I's first home makes me sad because they cut down a whole bunch of trees we planted and even a huge maple that his Grandfather and him had planted. Hope you got your fountain running.

Cal, you are right 90 degrees doesn't seem like a cool down to me. That is a heat wave. Stay cool!

LT, gosh I wish I could sew...I guess I am not the crafty type, I try, haha. Hoping you get some calls for some interview.

Kempy how as your weekend?

Hi everyone else. I am going to try and get dd to take a walk with me. I am all ready hungry from lunch, I think I will have a rice cake or some cottage cheese and fresh pineapple. Have a great day everyone!

maggzs 05-22-2006 06:04 PM

Morning all,

Wow there have been some losses on here of late :carrot: You guys are just rocking. I have yet to weigh in but Im not feeling to bad about it. Just keep on keeping on I guess. I sliced my finger open at work yesterday requiring a couple of stitches eekkkkkkkk & ouch. Not the best start to the week so of course I had to have a few glasses of red to help me 'settle' last night hahaha.

Lets hope the week goes better from here, its panning out to be a busy one but hopefully productive. Have a great day.

:smug:

Kempyd 05-22-2006 06:16 PM

Hey guys. Just a quick post. I have to eat and head to a metting for the subdivision board. I just wanted to say that I was WAY bad this weekend. I keep doing this to myself. At this rate I will never make it. I have to work all week to undo what I did over the weekend and I can tell you the food just didn't taste that good.

I'm off and I'll check back tonight.

angieME 05-22-2006 07:04 PM

Happy Monday everyone!! We have been super busy today getting supplies for this weekend and I have been making tons of Pumpkin whoopie pies and chocolate moose suckers. I need to sell as much as I can this weekend to get caught up from the winter. I did get in 2 walks though.

Noelle, I hope you got caught back up on your sleep this weekend. I hate it when someone wakes me up too early.

Cal, I dont know how you can stand that heat. I couldnt do it. 75 is too warm for me.

Julie, Your hike sounded nice. I want to take the kids up Borestone Mountain this summer. They did it already with their school so I guess they would be taking me.

Maggz, I hope your finger feels better today. I would have fainted.

Kempy, Have fun at your meeting. Remember that this is a whole new week and you can start fresh. Isnt that always the way? You think something will be so good and then it isnt.

Well, I am going to find something to clean.

redballoon 05-22-2006 07:28 PM

heh there...

Hi people. Hi Noelle, hi kempy, thanks for the hellos! I'm here, very busy, not doing too well but doing and that's about all I can manage now. Gotta fly up to the north island this afternoon for an overnight to do a story on a farm up there. Don't feel good. Cat is missing and was very ill. I'd been meaning to get him to the vet for his monthly shot but was so busy and hadn't. Then he disappears and it does not look good, not knowing the bad shape he was in. Damn. Couldn't get out to the horse today because of the cat and needing the time to get ready for the trip....sigh. I hope things ease up but I don't it and I have tons of work upon me, oh well. I hope you all are doing better than me. I am just trying to keep going, keep going, trying to remain calm and strong. Take care all!

angieME 05-23-2006 07:29 AM

Good Morning girls!! I have a busy day ahead today too but I wanted to stop in and say hi. I have to make more chocolate moose and chocolate covered pretzels etc.

I found this websight yesterday after I caught a bit of Dr. Phil. It is called familywatchdog.us You type in your address and it will show you a map of every sex offender near your house. Geesh, I have one on either side street by my house. I knew about one of them but I didnt know the other one was there. CREEPY!!!

Well, I gotta get movin today. I will check back later.

melekalikimaka 05-23-2006 03:04 PM

Hey ladies, I got my walk in this morning. It's blazing hot here or so it feels like. It's only 78 degrees but no breeze to speak of...i am sweating buckets. My eating has been bad (so Kempy you're not the only one), my dad has his ups and downs and between him going to the doctor and me shuttling the kids and my mom and dad (my mom doesn't like to drive far anymore, but she will still drive around the neighborhood), it's just been stressing me out. The kids get out of school on Friday! :yikes: This week is just a clean-up and play week, tomorrow they are having bounce houses and carnival type games on campus. i am helping with that too. I can't wait til after memorial day is over then I can try and get ahold of my schedule and then my eating will be somewhat more predictable. I hate running around too much during the day, my breakfast, lunch and dinner get thrown off the clock

Angie, I watched that Dr. Phil yesterday too. How's this for weird! I typed in my neighborhood, and the nearest offender near me was this guy I used to work with--I knew he had a record from back in the 80's, but he lives nearest to my house. Talk about creepy. Then there's one right around the corner, I'm glad I take my dog with me on walks!

Red, cats have nine lives don't ya know? I'm sure your boy will be fine until you get back. Sorry you couldn't get out to your horse, I bet she needs you just as much as you need her  don't work too hard ;)

maggzs, ouch! Hope you're healing up all nice and quick.

Julie, I heard about Dog's daughter being killed, that is sad, but I'm glad they went ahead and got married anyway. You know, the old episodes of DTBH, they did list Beth and Beth Chapman, "dog's wife", then later, they list her as "Beth Smith" ??? So I guess they were "common-law" anyway but wanted to make it legal.

LadyT, so what creations have you sewed up this week? Any word on interviews? I'm still crossing my finger for ya :crossed: !!!

Well, gotta run for now. Hi to Cal, Dips, cw, Cherie (where are you?) and anyone I may have missed.

Kempyd 05-23-2006 08:23 PM

Hey guys. I have been piddleing around the house all day. And you know I really couldn't tell you what I have done. I hate those days.

LT I really like TaeBo but I only do it when I am alone. I have never been one of those poeple to do those types of exercises in front of people.

Angie did it ever stop raining up there. We are in a drought right now. I am suprised that we have any water pressure b/c almost evryone in the subdivision has their sprinklers going in the evening. I am just trying to make sure that all of our hard work doesn't die.

Maggs how it the finger. Did the wine help? :D

Anige i typed that in and saw a guy I used to work with too. I knew he was on there but I didn't know when he would come off of the list if ever.

Rhea got in a fight with the neighbors dog last night. I swear these two do not like each other. I think it is b/c Rhea goes to their yard and tries to start crap through the fence. Well, the dog got her this time. She has a good sized bit mark on her backside. I have to clean it twice a day. She doesn't seemed to be bothered by it but I sure was freaked out. The neighbor was too. We were both running down the street screaming and she even did that in bare feet. I am sure she stepped on a rock or two. Thankfully Echowas too busy trying to find the perfect spot to do her business. If she woudl have jumped in I would have never been able to get them apart.

angieME 05-24-2006 08:06 AM

Good Morning!! Today is cookie making day!!! So we know what I will be doing all day. fun fun! It is my TOM so I dont think I will see a loss even though I have been totally OP. The scale doesnt seem to be moving. I have been so sore and tired this month. I have been eating right and walking twice a day but.....

Noelle, It has been cold here. I am not sure when it plans to warm up. Soon I hope.

My kids have to go to school until June 16. That is early an release for them. Brit is in a hurry because she has a job for the summer with MIL doing the dishes. She has been doing great so far. She is so money hungry that I hope it keeps her motivated because if she wants a car she is going to save for half of it.

Kempy, It stopped raining yesterday but it has been really cold since. They say it should hit 70 this weekend and I hope it does so the tourists dont change their minds about coming up. My garden spot is flooded so I dont think I will get a veggie garden this year. Maybe next year.

I hope Rhea isnt hurt too badly.

jbbm 05-24-2006 11:40 AM

Hi Girls

Angie, the things you have been making sound so good. Thanks for that website. I can't believe how many sickos there are out there. It is scary. You keep up the good work and that scale with move! It is so hard though with TOM time. I just don't even want to get off the couch. LOL

Kempy I hope Rhea is doing okay. Poor thing.

Noelle it sounds like you have alot going on right now. I hope things settle for you and your Dad is feeling better too. It is hard when our routines and schedule get thrown off course. You know I have been thinking about next fall, if I should go back to work when both kids are in school. Or take a year off and join a gym and go everyday(I can say that now but I don't know if I would go everyday, ya know:lol:). But some extra money sure would be nice if I would go back to work.

Well the dryer is going off. So HELLO to Maggzs, Cal, Dips, Red, Cherie(I miss you too!), LT and anyone I missed. Check back later on.

ps, chew me out if I don't report back any excercise, okay;)

Kempyd 05-24-2006 11:47 AM

Hey guys. Happy hump day. I just love having the middle of the week off. Not that I work tons but it is nice to know that I don't have to listen for the cell phone thinking a client might call and need me.

Rhea is doing ok. Her bites are healing really well. The hardest part is keeping her out of the ditch so they don't get infected. Those two love the water so much they will play in the ditch whenever they get a chance. It is worse when it is hot out too.

Angie did you start off by taking your measurements? I have seen a big change in those. I notice about a week and a half before I start my wiast will gain. Like this week, it is up 1/2 but the rest of me is down 1/4. I have been trying not to freak out on the scale when that gets close.

angieME 05-24-2006 12:02 PM

Hey Julie! When the kiddos go back to school I think either idea sounds good. I know you love to volunteer at school so the gym idea may be a really nice idea too. I say do what will make you the happiest.

Kempy, Yes, I actually took my measurements last week so I would have something to go from. It wasnt pretty either. I got my WW books and journal yesterday so today I officially started trying to keep track of points. I hope it works.

Gotta get back to work.

LadyTyger 05-24-2006 01:25 PM

Good morning ladies! Well, it's Wednesday and I have not heard boo from any of the places I applied to last week. :?: I'm starting to wonder if I am even employable. Maybe they are all leery of hiring me because my last job was working at the local animal shelter for a year and a bit, and only crazy animal people work there. :dizzy:  Oh well. I would be enjoying the time off, if I wasn't so worried about paying bills. Damn I wish I could have my cake and eat it too! :hb: :eating2:

On the good side, I have been getting my exercise in, and eating well. Maybe I'll actually see a loss soon?? One can hope. I started a journal too, where I write down what I want to get done each day. If I do it, I get a sticker! Pretty corny, huh? :D

I am almost finished the sewing project I started on Fri. I decided to make a laundry bag out of a bunch of old pairs of jeans from DH and I that are either full of holes, or don't fit anymore. I cut a bunch of patches, and have sewed them together and quilted them, no batting though. I didn't think the laundry bag needed padding. :D

Kempy - Glad to hear your pup is healing ok! It's hard when your animals get into fights! I hope the other dog is ok too, and your neighbour is not mad. It is tough when you don't get along with neighbours.

Julie - :kickbutt: Get to that exercise girl!!! :D :cheer:

Angie - You have been doing awesome! Don't worry if you don't see a loss this week. TOM screws everything up. All your hard work and dedication will pay off in the end! :)

Noelle - Hope your stress eases soon! I wish I was back in Hawaii, my DH and I were in Maui this spring for 11 days. It was paradise! :) I loved the heat and humidity, but I will admit, I was not trying to exercise in it! LOL. I would probably have a different opinion of it, if I was!

Hello  to everyone else!! Hope you're all having a good Wednesday!!

Kempyd 05-24-2006 02:44 PM

LT I get along with the neighbors it is Rhea who seems to have the problem with one of their dogs. It is just such a strange thing to see her get mad at another dog. I hope you find something soon. It is good to hear that you are keeping busy and getting that exercise in.

Angie it will work if you work it. I think you will be very happy with what is going to start to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't drop 6 lbs as soon as you start. I know that I am paying more attention to what I am salting now. I never realized how much I was usuing. I look at what comes in my packages foods too and WOW what a big amount. It almost makes me want to do things all the way from scratch. I have started to find cans of tomates and veggies with no salt and that has really helped my blotation.

angieME 05-24-2006 05:50 PM

LT, I hope you hear good news soon on your job apps. Oh you worked at the Humane Society? How did you do it? I dont think I could handle it. I would get depressed every time they had to euthanize(sp) an animal.

Your laundry bag sounds neat and what a great way to recycle.

Kempy, Thanks for the tips. I added all my points up today and I still have 5 left over! I am not even counting the Activity points or flex points. I guess I will have a snack later.

Well, I should get another walk in tonight. I will check back later.

Morning all,

My finger is healing along I guess, havnt taken off the bandage but its not hurting as much now. I did however forget how much the tetnus injection hurts a few days later. I could barely move my arm the past 2 days & I really felt crappy too. I have told the kids that after stitches in the hand you cant wash up for at least a month as there is risk of infection hahaha I am not sure they really believed me though.

Hay tiger you can come work for me, I just advertised & got only 3 applications back, interviewed yesterday & none were any good. grrrrrrrrrr It is sooo frustrating when you cant even get people to apply.

It is really starting to hit winter here now which makes it very hard to get out & walk in the mornings before work or after as its dark now but I guess I will just have to put in more of an effort on the weekends though. I still havnt weighed in yet I know I am slack but I can only imagine as I havnt necessarilly been making the best choices either. I am a stress eater & thats been a bit on the extreme these past few weeks so I think I need to address the stress in 1 way or another to combat he eating.

Anyways best work now. Have a great day.

Heh all. The cat came home that day and I was able to get him to the vet. :) Then I had to fly up to Hokkaido and am now back. Beautiful blue skies up there yesterday. Bad thunderstorm in Tokyo so the plane was delayed coming back but I made it OK! Sorry for these brief flybys. Hoping to get out to the horse in a couple of hours. Angie, I looked up that watchdog thing where I used to live in the States. No one at all around, not for miles except for the workplace of one quite a few miles away. I think it would be so scary to know there were people who had records living right by you. I don't know if it's a good thing though actually. Then again, probably better safe then sorry. Speaking of which!!! I turn on my computer this morning to read an email from a workmate telling me that if the office is a pile of rubble soon consider myself forewarned. Apparently there was a "tour" of Iranians through the office yesterday, don't know why or who they were. Our bosses are total idiots so they could have been anyone and been given a free tour. The thing is they were all very interested in the foreign news desk, which is where I work. They were taking photos of the garbage cans and exits and hanging around very interested in such. Very, very strange. THEN!! the clincher is, an hour after they left the American Embassy here gets a warning of a possible attack on Americans and this comes in over the wire service. What the ****!? I have to be in the office on Friday. Apparently there is to be another "tour" next week as well, on a day I am scheduled to be there as well. I am not amused. Guys at work had talks with managers about what was going on. I know they are useless. I really think the embassy should be notified or something. Very worrying stuff.... :(

angieME 05-25-2006 08:04 AM

Good Morning sunshines!!! I got up and got my walk in BEFORE the kids even left for school. Of course I wanted to say hi to you all before I go bake more whoopie pies today. I hope this weekend is as busy as past ones. My MIL bakery is swamped on the holiday weekends.

Well, I kept track of all my points yesterday and I still had 3 points left over at the end of the day...and that was with a snack at 8. Today I am going to get in another piece of fruit in between meals. It is so hard though because once we start donuts there isnt time to sit down and eat. If I could just get to 224 then my points would be just right.

breakfast today was a 1 point english muffin toasted with 1 TBS. Peanut butter and 1 cup of milk. It was so good and I felt like I was cheating.

Maggz, Hi  It sounds so wierd to hear you talk about winter when it is just warming up here. How cold does it get there on average during the winter? I hope your finger is feeling better soon.

Red, Yes that is freaky. I would be nervous too and I definately wouldnt want to go to work that day. I hope it turns out to be nothing at all.

The thing about the sex offenders by me. I was so shocked because I live in a SMALL town of only 1200 people. There is about 6 of them in my town alone. Noone ever told me about the one the next street over either. Remember the story I told you guys about the guy from Canada coming down and killing 2 sex offenders in our area on Easter? Well, One of them was in my hometown and a girl my sis went to school with lived right beside him and his record was against little kids....Noone told her he lived beside her and her kids. Can you imagine?

Okay I gotta go get some baking done while Jay is at work. I will be back later to talk.

LadyTyger 05-25-2006 11:46 AM

Good morning ladies!! :D It is pouring rain here this morning, which is actually a good thing, since it has been sooooo dry this spring.:rain:

I went out to the barn last night. My car is still not fixed, but my parents were going out anyway, so they gave me a lift. I have not been out since Midnight and I fell. I was surprised to find that I was afraid to ride :o :( I have had many falls over the years and I have never been afraid to get back on before. I am ashamed to say I did not ride last night, just groomed and played with him a little.:halfempty I know I should have just bitten the bullet and ridden, it will only be harder next time.

Angie - Good luck getting those points in today! You are doing so great!
I can't believe there would be so many sex offenders living in such a small town. Makes you wonder what is attractive to them about living there. At least you have made yourself aware of them though.
Yes, I worked for the local shelter for quite awhile. It was tough work, but very worthwhile. Euthanasia was definitely a stressor, and something that is hard to understand, sometimes.

red - Glad to hear your kitty is doing ok, and got to the vet. What kind of horse do you have? Are Japanese stables a lot different from North American? Maybe a dumb question... I mean the horses will have the same needs right? :^: I would be :censored: off if there was a genuine security threat (which it sounds like yours was) and my bosses did nothing about it!! I hope you and your coworkers manage to get something done about it.

Maggzs - Ouch! Sounds like the injection was worse than the cut! I hope you're feeling better! I'm due for my tetanus booster, but somehow, it just hasn't happened yet.
Seems like you and I are having opposing problems right now... hmmmmm. :chin: :D

Kempy - I'm glad your relationship with your neighbours is good, and they are understanding about Rhea. It is hard enough when you don't understand what your dog's issue is, and then have to deal with irate neighbours on top of it! Has Rhea always reacted that way to this other dog, or is it a new thing?

Well, I'm  so I better get some :coffee: ! Hi Noelle, cal, julie, and anyone else I missed.

melekalikimaka 05-25-2006 02:14 PM

Hi ladies, just breezing by before I start my crazy day. I'm happy today since Taylor Hicks won AI season 5 last night, Katherine McPhee was beautiful, but a bit boring to me. I'm also having my Starbucks Americano with a low-fat chocolate bundt cake. My WW leader said the "lowfat" oat cake is 5 pts, vs. the low-fat chocolate for 4 pts. I know, the oat cake probably has loads more fiber, but hey, if I can have chocolate cake for breakfast once in a while, I will! I've been feeling kind of shlumpy and down-in-the-dumps... I actually forced myself to put some make-up on today and it's sort of made me feel better. I hope I can make it through the day without losing it! :dizzy: OK so enough of these trivialities...

Red! OMG, what a situation to be in! I hope you and your colleagues will be alright. I will keep an eye out for news. Maybe you can pretend to be British? ;) Just kidding with ya. Seriously though, what is it with the bosses letting them through the whole building??? Scary stuff.

LadyT, I think you will get back on your horse and ride again. Let the good memories override the bad ones. Hope you get your car back in working order soon.

Angie, I told you you would have trouble eating all your points in the beginning--isn't that weird? It feels like you have to eat too much. I think you'll lose even though it's TOM, that's just the way WW works. I had losses every week through the 24th week I think....then I've been falling off program so I've been going up and down a little for the past month or so. Kick my @ss will ya?

Kempy, so your little Rhea's a scrapper is she? :D I hate listening to dogs fight, it sounds so much scarier than it actually is sometimes. I'm glad she's healing up though. Is it getting really hot down where you are? It's been scorching and humid out here, really miserable.

Julie, I saw Gilad on TV yesterday morning, I was sitting on the couch though, not following along. The scenery is great isn't it? I think either working part-time next fall and/or joining a gym would be great ideas. Why not do both? You could work out for an hour or two at the gym then put in a few hours at work for some extra cash, then be home for the kids after school. I know, it sounds so easy on paper, but in reality....there's not enough time in a day is there?

Hey Dips, you must be done with finals right? How'd they go? And how's your man :nose: situation these days? ;)

Cal, is the countdown in single digits yet? You must be so looking forward to vacation. Get those suitcases ready! :goodvibes:

maggzs, hope your finger is not causing too much of a bother for you anymore, and that tetanus shot--ow! Better to be safe than sorry eh? Hope you get your work positions filled with good, hard working people.

cw, how's it going with you? Hope all is well.

Well ladies, I seriously have got to get some paperwork done. Have a great day and have fun.

calnative 05-25-2006 11:54 PM

It's almost over!!!! Only 8 more school days (4 full days and 4 half days)

We leave on vacation 2 weeks from today. I have not started packing yet, although I do have the suitcases out. Ashley has a daybed with a trundle and we put up the trundle (made her bed into a kingsize) and it's now covered with suitcases. She's been sleeping in our bed. I told hubby that I have to do most of the packing this weekend because I only have this weekend and next. I'm still too busy during the week to do anything in the evenings except drop. Luckily, I don't have a lot of lesson stuff to do now. Of course, I still have plenty for the kiddos to do, but I'm not grading anymore. Grades close tomorrow anyway.

It's soooooo hot. At 7:30 this evening it was still 104 (40 for you Maggzs). We're at least 10-15 degrees above normal. It makes it hard to want to go anywhere. Earlier this week it was really nice and we went walking with Tucker (our dog), but now it's too hot. Even Tucker is always lying in his pool in the backyard. He really loves it when the sprinklers come on; he runs through them.

Before I forget, I'd like to send everyone postcards from Europe. Please PM me with addresses if you'd like a postcard. I have addresses for Kempy, Julie, Noelle, Angie, Dips, and Cherie. I'd like to send some to everyone else as well. Hope to hear from everyone.

It's early, but I'm so tired. I'll try to post more this weekend. That seems to be the best time for me.

Have a good night.

Cal
