  • Hey Ladies,

I had an okay day today... the weather was nice got up to 70. No loss to report but I did get my workout in. I've been doing the WATP vids the last couple of days, and unlike walking outside, I've used my hand weights, and now I can feel the soreness in my upper arms, ..but it lets me know those muscles needed some work

Michelle, Hope you had better weather today. Glad you had a good time with your girls. You know I'm thinking of investing in a pedometer myself, let me know how you like yours.. I am so glad to hear your grandma is doing better, what a relief that must be for all of you.

ELEM, glad you had a good time at the beach. Mmmm, I love Pina Coladas, my favorite, but it's been a while. I can relate to that swollen feeling... my problem is not enough water at times. Wishing you luck on the drop this week.

Liza, tomorrow is another day... I didn't have a loss either but as long as we keep working at it, it will come off.

Tracey, Whoa... are you kidding us! Congrats on the loss. Cut out that negative thinking, you will only sabotage yourself that way. You know this is something you want... you just have to know that you CAN do it... don't put any pressure on yourself, just DO IT girl!

Robbin, awww that was so sweet! ...I feel the same way. I have been dealing with some water retention too... but I have been getting in the water and I can feel it coming off.

Linda, Thanks. ...glad you got some sun today. ...and you know that slight gain is just a fluctuation.

Hope everyone has had a good day! ...I'll be checking back later.

  • Michelle, go ahead and vent! ...just know that this is only one day. You have not blown it... you just had a bad meal. Tomorrow is brand new, just dust it off and keep going girl.... you said you want to be healthy, only you can make it happen!
  • Michelle...So glad to hear that your grandma is doing better. I'm a stress eater also. Tomorrow is a new day, so don't beat yourself up about dinner. You'll do fine this week.

Losi...WTG on your exercise and the loss of a half pound.

ELEM...Glad to hear you had a good time at the beach. I can't wait to go in july.

Liza...Don't fret girl, you'll have a loss next week.

    Tracey...6.5 pounds! FANTASTIC!!!!!!

Robbin...Ice Cream sounds real yummy, but I cna't stand anything cold or hot in my mouth right now. Hurts just as bad. Glad to hear you had a good weekend.

Linda...That stubborn .8 just won't leave you alone. Time to tell it whose the BOSS!!

Never got to sew like I wanted to, forgot that I had a couple of meetings to go to. Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully I get to to that after my walk. Did good on my eating till tonight and my stress level was up and I ate a few too many taco's Try to do better tomorrow.

Have a good evening and I'll chat with you tomorrow.

    Cheryl
  • Okay ladies, have done quite a bit of reading and think i am finally caught up, so here goes! Oh by the way, weighed again this morning 275.9, down 1.3. Amazing what a little water and staying faithful to the plan can do! Well here goes with some personals and please accept my appologies to anyone i miss, this is hard to keep up with sometimes!

Cheryl The burn in your mouth sounds painfull! Is it starting to heal yet?

Robsia I had just bought a 44 H bra, actually going up a few cup sizes but it fit a whole lot better when i bought it. Now 3 weeks later i have already had to tighten up to the closets hooks, feels good. Sounds like you have a bit of party girl in you! Glad you had fun!

Cassie Has your infection completely cleared up yet? Did you take all your medicine? Yes i worry alot about the excess skin thing too, particularly on inner thighs, arms and tummy. My breast already sag quite a bit so i know i will do something there just to get a little perk back!

Michelle I am glad to hear your grandmother is doing better! Yes, i really struggle with the going out thing as well. It is hard not to "plan" a binge or give yourself permission to cheat, especially when the food we want is hard to get. Seems like everything around here is fried!!! Don't worry about one bad dinner the biggest thing is not to get so caught up in the emotion that got you there and the emotion of not eating what you want and stay true to the plan! None of us are perfect and no one should expect us to b. Life has ups and downs, so why do we fret so bad when our eating does!! keep the big picture in mind!

Linda glad to hear your mood perking up a little again. Don't worry about gains or lack of losses, our bodies love to do weird things! Just like i said to michelle keep the big picture in mind!

Robin Go Cart sounds like a lot of fun! I know you said it was for boys and hubby but does mom drive too!! They kind of scare me a little, i already and a lead foot and like a little more protection! Just a little FYI, i had been told years ago that the skin removal surgery could be covered by ins if you have a lot of irritation under it. Unfortunately I haven't ever got small enough to have to look into it specifically but plan on doing it one way or the other when i do get to that stage!

Liza Girlfriend you hit the bottom of the pit didn't you!! glad to hear you coming up a little though. Congrats on the bra change! We get so caught up in the scale but bottom line our health is the most important. How you feel in general and about yourself is really what matters! I have been in that wild ride of working and not losing and then losing without trying, it'll make you crazy!!!

Countess hadn't met you before, i am relatively new to the thread. Nice to hear from you and don't be a stranger!

Tracey a great bit whoooo hooo for you. 6.5 # is fantastic!!!!!! Did you ever ger over all of your sickness??? I always gain when i am like that, you know i am a sickie so i deserve to eat whatever i want to! Anyway congrats again!

Tina You go spice girl! Love the SUV. I have a boring old minivan but it does what i need and i love it for that. I can dream about the sporty car in about 12 years maybe! How was the shopping!!! I am not a big shopper, but when i get in a mood i can be at it all day!

Lois Every little bit off is a little bit less on us. Those small drops can make us crazy to say the least but keep focused on the fact that down is better than up! I have a hard time being outside here in the summer because it is hot as hades here and so humid!! you can feel the air sticking to you the second you walk out the door. We have had severa 80+ days already but are in a cooler spell right now. 75 and lower. I need to do so much yard work but don't really enjoy it so keep putting it off. I know that yard work is not the same as true exercise but i count it none the less!

Well ladies i am supposed to be doing paperwork before i get my daughter up for school and now have spent all my time here ont he computer! Oh well ya'll are a lot more fun than the pile of paper!!! My dad is doing well and they are now thinking it is insulin resistance causing his problems, hmmmm where have i heard that before. they are checking to be sure there are no tumors or anything funky like that causing it but otherwise a little dietary change and exercise and he should be fine!

gotta run girlies!! hope ya'll have a fantastic day and i will keep up better in the future! Love ya Erin
  • Wow, is this ever shaping up to be a fun week. I mentioned yesterday that I looked like I was up .4 . . . Well first thing this morning the scale said I was up another 2 pounds above that. Now I just had a really good (well you know what I mean) so I got on the scale again and I gained another 2 pounds again. For a total increase of 4.4 over last week. Bad scale- Now I know this is not true and that it will go away again; but it's really depressing just the same.
  • Meowee, I believe we have alot in common this morning. The scales jumped up 3 pounds overnight on me. I really do believe it is water and that maybe TOM is comming again even though it is a little to soon(im never regular). My hands are all swollen, I cant get my rings off, My face looks fat(it had been lookin so good here lately), My jeans feel tight, Crap Even my Shoes feel tight today. Gotta Be Water and TOM. Yesterday I drank like 150 oz's of water hoping it would help but NOOOOOOOOO it didnt. Oh well it will go away soon I hope.

I decided to get back on fitday and use it faithfully again since the weight really isnt moving anymore.

Gotta run so I will be able to clock into work on time. Everyone have a great day
  • Robbin ~ How long have you used Fitday before? Do you like it? I did enroll in an account with Fitday, but it seemed a little confusing to me with the calorie ranges, and when I logged in my exercise the same as another site I belong to, Fitday was 113 calories less burned for the exercise. I get so confused and frustrated with all of these different sites being so different, and not knowing which one is really the most accurate! Sorry about your weight gain, but I had to giggle when you said even your shoes are tight! I've been having many of those days lately!
  • Happy Tuesday!
Hey ladies! I'm back! It was a short little getaway (hardly feels like I've been away), but it was so nice. Tried to do my best with choosing healthy eats, but I don't think it was too great. This morning I was up a couple of pounds. My water intake sucked! And I'm afraid I took in a little too much sodium. My feet were like little puff balls..LOL! So I'm taking in water left and right today to try and rectify it. I do have a NSV to report! I bought a jean skirt....size 16! It is a stretchy jean though..but that tag looks great! hahaha!

Robsia, don't feel so guilty about that little blurp. You have done amazingly well, one night, one slip isn't going to spoil how far you've come. Knowing you, you'll have it off in no time flat! Congrats on the new bra!

Robbin, congrats on the 1lb. loss last week. That puts you closer to goal..every p-o-u-n-d counts! Glad your family is enjoying their surspise! You have to be retaining water. It's only that little ol' bag that could make you feel that bad.

Linda, yikes. Take that nasty scale and give it a good shake! It's tough when we have scale owies like that...but just hang in there, it'll be gone in no time!

Cheryl, ouch! That burn sounds like it's in a really obnoxious spot. I can't stand when I burn my tongue taking the first sip of hot coffee. Hope it gets better real soon!

Michelle, how's that pedometer working out for you? What a relief to hear your grandma is feeling better. And that would be a million dollar question as to why we always run to food for our cruches for whatever the case may be.

Lois, sounds like you had a good weekend. Hope you meet your goal this week, that .5 was put in the right direction.

Elem-pgf, wow! The beach...now that sounds like a great getaway. Thanks, I loved how it handled on the highway.

Liza, this will be a better week. Make the most of it and see what it'll bring you next weigh in. Don't lose heart!

Tracey, what an amazing scale victory to report! Congratulations, you deserved after the past couple of weeks you've had.

I gotta get movin' and shakin' myself. And drinkin' all that water back is sending me to the potty so often! Have a great day girls!

    ~Tina
  • Linda and Robbin - - do not fret!!!! Okay yeah right, i would look at someone writing that to me and stick my tongue out at the computer and say, you don't fret! I know that we are not supposed to focus on the numbers but it is so hard!!!!!! Keep in mind, if it is going on really fast and you know you are doing everything right it is most likely water. My mom used to drink some combo of vinegar, water and lemon as a natural diuretic. May help if you can get it down! I will give my scale a swift kick just for ya'll! I know my day is coming!!

Tina- congrats on the size 16!! I can't remeber the last time a 16 fit me! I love your never ending positivity ( is that a word??)! Anyway, thanks for have a good attitude that just oozes through the computer!

The great peel has begun, unfortunately my face is peeling the most and I didn't think it had been burned that much! I never got the ocean potion someone suggested but will have to get some to have on hand for the next time! Will try to get back in tonight or in the morning!

    Love ya'll Erin
  • Tina ~ Glad you had a fun little trip, even though it was short. How did the new hot rod handle? CONGRATULATIONS on a size 16 skirt! That's so great and it really shows you your hard work and determination! Your 2 pounds probably is a lot of sodium retention, which is always my best friend! Just glad to see your pretty face back and you always give us your positive outlook on everything, which keeps us all motivated.
  • Hey Ladies,

I've been having a good day... temps in the mid 70's. I got a lot of walking done today... shopped for about 5 hours but I will only take about 2 hours and log it as walking, I had a little water retention in the last few days but I've gotten it off, so now my ticker is accurate... I'm still hoping I reach my mimi goal this week, if not I hope I come close

A week or so ago I bought a couple of pairs of size 22 pants... my largest size was a 26 but then those 24's that had hung in my closet is has gotten too big... so I bought these 22's and they are getting too big... today I bought a size 18, now ladies... Lois has not worn an 18 in many, many, many moons! ...even my feet have lost weight... I can now comfortably wear 2 pairs of shoes I had that were too tight when I bought them over a year ago. Yay! ba, ba, ba,... ba, bah... I'm lovin' it!

Cheryl, Hope you got to get some sewing done and got that walk in.

Erin, congrats on the loss that's great. You're right, it's funny how water can help things along. It has not gotten that warm yet... I'm happy if it just stays around the mid 70's, but that won't be the case come July and August Yard work is not an everyday thing, so I'd count it as exercise too! Oh, I've tried the vinegar and honey (2 tsp each) in a cup of water.. I only used it once but it seemed to work!

Linda, Oh no! ...I know that scale demon is playing tricks on you. I say ignore him and keep doing the right things and you'll wear that demon "down"

Robbin, It sounds like water retention. I use FitDay faithfully, even when my eating isn't the greatest. It just helps to keep me focused. The only time I did not use it, is when I had to go out of town for a few days late March. It can really make a difference.

Michelle, just find one site or log to use and stick with that one. I too have found some sites are not quite the same and I don't think any of them are exact, but most come close to the actual numbers. Just find one you like.

Tina, glad you made it back safely. You deserved to enjoy yourself a bit on your getaway and you probably didn't do any damage... you're getting that body finely tuned and it's in a burning mode so that gain will be gone in no time. Drink up! Congrats on the NSV Girl that sodium can really do a job on the body.

Hope everyone is enjoying the day! ...I'll check back later.

  • Hello again . . .

Spent most of the day in another town about 50 miles away. First a periodontist appointment (always lots of fun ) followed by lunch and shopping with a friend (much more enjoyable). Afraid I didn't make a very good choice for lunch (Fish and Chips) but then I only ate half the order (my system cannot handle all that grease anymore since I've been feeding it better). I know it was just a knee-jerk reaction to the scale-. One of those "hey if you're giving me 4 pounds anyway, I might as well earn them" self-sabotage things that we all seem to do from time to time. Back on track tomorrow . . . I promise.

Robbin . . . I obviously understand exactly how you feel. I always log my eating, etc., even when it isn't good. If I don't write it down, I tend to pretend it never happened.

Michelle . . . I can feel my feet and ankles swelling as I type. Two days of too much salt. Tomorrow, I'll have to drink water until I slosh in hopes of getting the scale- back in line.

Tina . . . glad you are back safe and sound (although a little salty). Seems to be going around right now. Congrats on that size 16 . . . I don't remember a 16, it has been so long. Somewhere above 12 and below 20, right . . . everything in that range is a little blurry.

Elem . . . Sorry you are peeling. Sometimes nothing will stop it. I had vinegar and lemon and a glass of water with my fish and chips. But somehow I don't think that's quite what you had in mind. Maybe I'll try some lemon with my water tomorrow. Can't hurt. Thanks.

Lois . . . Oh wow . . . you're in those 'blurry' numbers too. Way to go. Rejoice kiddo, you've worked hard for it.

Don't know if I'll get to spend too much time around here tomorrow, but I'll try. Obviously I goofed-off on the work-project-stuff today and will have to get at it early tomorrow. Have a great evening of moving and shaking and heading in the downward direction, gang. See you soon.
  • Erin ~ Thank you for the kinds words about my grandma. Yesterday when I called her, she sounded like herself again, which made me happy and relieved. My problem is turning out to be more than one meal, and I know only I can do something about it! I hate the peeling process when I get sunburned!

Linda ~ I wonder if something is wrong with your scale and you need a new one? That seems like a lot to go up all the sudden when you've still been doing good with your eating. I'm feeling the same way today as you with the swollen feet and ankles.

Lois ~ CONGRATULATIONS on the size 18 pants and being able to fit into those two pairs of shoes from a year ago! That's such a great accomplishment, and you're doing so good!
  • I agree, it is weird, Michelle. The scale is only a couple of months old. I honestly think it is me. Diabetes makes you very prone to strange hormonal fluctuations sometimes.
  • Well I'm really sorry Linda...that could really wear a person down with that much of a fluctuation! I didn't even realize that diabetes does this.
