So sad Shelley. We just never know do we? This along with so many other sudden deaths should teach all of us to live life to the fullest while we can. Prayers sent to the family.
The last two weeks sure have been wonderful here, but yesterday we had to take Travis, Noell and kittycat Jack back to the airport. It was so hard saying goodbye, especially knowing that it will be a year before we see Travis again. His unit will deploy back to Iraq for 6 more months this fall, so it's unlikely that they will make another trip home before he leaves (unless there is a death in our immediate family or some other emergency, but let's hope nothing like that happens). Anyhow...we did all have a wonderful time together and we're counting down the days until we can do it all over again!
In the mean time we're all thankful for phones, computers and webcams!
Now the job of getting back into our regular routines begins...
Janice ~ You are doing AWESOME!!! 14 pounds gone...you should be very proud of yourself!
Dee ~ I'm so happy to hear the good news about your mom! I hope she continues to feel better and better each day!
Shelley ~ I'm sorry to hear about the death of your friend. I will say a prayer for his family and friends.
Gayle ~ I see lots of relplies from you, but nothing about you...how are you doing?
Shelley what tragic news. I will continue to pray for his family, co-workers and friends.
I am glad that this summer they have hired a temp for you to answer phones. I can't beleive how dedicated you are to want to go into work for 6:00 am. If you think that it would help and that you can handle it I would ask for the overtime.
Janice the shot that I had for my back did not help. It actually demobilized me more than anything. As for now there isn't anything that they can do except give me more drugs. My last increase was almost two weeks ago and I told Larry that I feel like I am trying to walk underwater. It takes that much effort to do anything. I am exhausted from noon til night and I only get up around 9:00. I am not sure if it is the pain medication or my beta blockers for my heart that is doing it. I see the doctor monday. I am in a lot of extra pain these days because I stained part of the fence last weekend and I haven't recovered. C'est la vie!
We have another talented one in our group. Your bathroom sounds really nice. I love hummingbirds. Did you know that wallpaper is back big time?
Take it easy and do only what your body will let you. I am one to talk.
Suzy I am happy for you that you had this time to visit with Travis. I know that you will cherish this visit until you see him next year. Now it is important for you not to go into a downward spiral and start to eat. Make a goal for next year when you see Travis.
Hey Gayle whatz sup? You are a quiet one aren't you?
How does everyone like the new appearance of the board?
Yesterday my sister Gayle came into the city and we went for lunch. We just hung out all day. It was nice to have something to distract me from my pain. My mom's birthday is sunday so we will be bring chinese food over for dinner. Everyone will be there celebrating with her. I couldn't beleive that she liked my croc shoes so that is she is going to get.
The fence will hopefully get finished this weekend. If I can't do it I am sure that Larry will. I also want to set up the pool house so that we can eat out there and I can have my little siesta.
Dee ~ If I didn't know better I would swear that you could see that I am sitting here with a bowl of ice cream! You're right though...I can't let myself go out of control and start the emotional eating again. I did really well the past two weeks and didn't gain at all. I'm really proud of that because there was a whole lot of cookin' and eatin' goin' on! A new goal for next spring is a good idea...something to work towards and concentrate on. I'll have to think on that a bit...maybe I could work towards being able to go for a long run with Trav or something along those lines.
Gayle-You are too sweet! Becky thanks you for the card.
Dee-Staining the fence???? You know you shouldn't be doing that! I really wish you would take it easy.
Suzy-You have the last 2 weeks memories to cherish while you wait to see your baby again.
My computer shut down 4 times yesterday, so I'm trying to make this quick.
My principal's "foster son" was shot and killed yesterday at his grandma's housing complex. There may have been drugs involved, we don't know. He just turned 18 the other day. I remember him coming in and calling when he was very young...
Shelley I am sorry to hear of the trgic news. That is pretty tough on the school staff. I will remember in my prayers. I think that you are trying to keep me on my knees and out of trouble.
I knew that staining the fence was going to be tough but I get so fed up of not being able to do anything around here and Larry not getting enough done because he feels like he has to babysit me.
Suzy I caught you, did I? Keep focused and remember all the hard work that it took you to get there. You wouldn't want to give up your great body now.
Becky and I ate lunch at the Silver Spoon yesterday. I ordered a chicken teriyaki salad, not knowing that the chicken was breaded. I'm sure the salad had a minimum of 10 points. It sure was good, though! Of course, that set me off and I ate too much for the rest of the day. Oh well, today's another day and I'm running 10 miles again, so hopefully that will help.
Happy May Day Everyone. I am sending you all a virtual bouquet of flowers. I am wishing you a heartful of spring joy.
Shelley I am sure with running 10 miles and eatting 500 calories that balances out. You are doing great maintaining so pat yourself on the back.
At lunch today when Larry picked me up from the doctors he realized that someone tried to break into his car at work. His steering wheel had some scratches on it. Then when we parked at home he realized his steering wheel column was broken. That was close! I wonder if they will come back another time to steel it since half of their work is done. It wouldn’t take much now. Of course his club was on the floor. He is pretty lucky we still have a car. We already had booked an appointment last we for an immobilizer to be put in. They didn’t have an opening til august. Our car is the top car for being stolen. I figure since the news is broadcasting that, now the armature crooks know which car is the easies to steal.
We celebrated mom's 72 birthday yesterday. I thought that it was 73, she sure corrected me on that! lol She is coing really well. Thanks for all the continued support and prayers. I can't remember if I told you what she wanted for her birthday.......she wanted Crocs! She is the last person I thought would wear them because of what they look like.
Dee- I am so sorry that the shot didn't help you at all. I know how hard it is to do everyday things when you are in constant pain.
I am glad your Mom is doing good. Funny about the Crocs, you just never know. I have been eyeing them up but haven't gotten a pair yet.
Don't your feet sweat?
Shelley - So sad about your friend. His family is in my prayers.
I had WW weigh in this morning. I lost another 3.6 lbs. this week. My total is 17.6 lbs down. I know I can do it this time. One day and one week at a time.
Suzy - Lay off the ice-cream thats one of the things that got me to the size I was. Along with cake, donuts, cookies, candy etc.
Just kidding a little bit once in a while isn't going to hurt you. We still have to live and I'm not going to do totally without the foods I love.
Have a good week everyone!
Janice you are doing great. You must feel sexy! Get yourself a pair of crocs you will even feel sexier! I buy the crocs with the holes on the top called beach crocs. They have more ventelation. If your feet sweat in the shoes they won't smell because of the type of material the shoes are made of. Trust me both my kids have the stinkiest feet in the world and their feet don't stink in their shoes.
Janice ~ You are doing awesome girl! You are going to be at your goal in no time!
I agree with you...I'm not going to totally give up the foods that I love most either, but it's important to be smart about how much and how often I eat those foods.
Dee ~ I tried on a pair of crocs the other day when I was shopping and was really surprised at how comfortable they are! I wasn't crazy about the idea of having those bright colors on my feet though!
Shelley ~ That salad sounds wonderful...worth the 10 points! I'm sure you more than made up for it with your running!
I pushed the lawnmower yesterday for 2 1/2 hours. It was definitely easier for me to do yesterday than it was this time last year, which made me feel really good. The last few pounds should come off now that I am doing the gardener's workout again!
Dee-It must have been your lucky day, not to have the car stolen. Whew!!
Suzy-Lawnmowing is exhausting, if you're not on a riding mower. I'm sure you burned off plenty of calories.
Have you heard about the fire that burned 9 homes in Lehigh Acres, Fl? One of our teacher's yard, car, motor home, boat, and part of the house got burned up. The fire was started by 3 kids aged 10-14. It was so devastating!
Shelley ~ You're right about lawn mowing being exhausting! I cut our lawn and Tim's aunt's lawn on Sunday. Aunt Hazel's takes 3 hours on the tractor and then a half an hour with the push mower. Ours takes another hour and a half with the push mower. Then if you add in the trimming it's a full day to get it all done.
I saw about the wildfire that those kids set on the news this morning. I hope your friend was insured! They were saying on the news that the children are under arrest and that the parents may be held liable for damages, but I don't know how in the world one would begin to pay for so much devastation!
