Hey girls it has been a tough few weeks for sure. I think Judy you did a good job while away that is hard. At least you used some of your control and thats a biggy. Sounds like the area is still in great need of work. I get so upset that the gov't doesn't seem to be doing enough for them or other areas that need it. But we send funds over to other countries without question taking care of our own seems to be on a different scale of funds. Oh well I can't fight politics but I sure would like to. Maybe some day when I am done fighting for the folks I work for to ensure their lifes are all running as good as possible.
Marie your amazing and give me strength to know I can also make good choices etc.. I like turkey too. How did you grill it? Did you wrap it in foil to not let it get dried out? Please share your ideas.
I found some new bagels new to me anyways. I like them and a lot less cals. Weight Watchers 100 cals, 9 fibers, 9 protiens so they are filling and keep me satisfied. I do wish they were rye or everything flavored maybe I can spray them with some cooking spray and add some spices? I might be onto something? Oh and yesterday I think I ate almost a pint of blueberries plain. I love fruit. I ate pretty good yesterday due to my crazy day and only 10 min. for lunch. I spilled my leftover chinese on the floor now I called that portion control. It was a crazy work day I had to go to a clients for support while she was told her sister passed away. I will attend calling hours with her friday evening. So friday I will adjust my schedule and take off a little time in the afternoon. Work sure has been crazy lately. Today I have to go meet with some folks on emergency placement in case I ever need one in the future. So I have to present one of my folks. Off to work I go I miss not having a lot of vacation time in store. Its unusual for me to have to think before wanting a day off. I really hate it. But Hawaii was well worth it and that I have to remember. For dinner though I did have some bread and eggplant parm. homemade. It was good though I think I over did it on the sauce a bit too much oh well. Tonight I think we will have corn on the cob, salad and some chicken grilled on george. I need to fill my tank for the grill we ran out. I didn't swim yesterday but did garden for an hour. The veggies are coming along and we will have lots of cherry tomatoes for sure. The plants look like trees I had to stake them all up. Cukes are on the way and I ate some fresh raspberries the birds missed. They beat me to most of them naughty little birds. I think my daughters friend is selling a treadmill. I told her I am interested so hopefully I get it. If not the old birthday is coming and I will ask for funds towards one. I would love to have one in the house I get up early and would have no reason to not use it. I would have to put it downstairs as I have no real room up here unless I decided to put it in my Adirondack room. That might not look so pretty. Well take care hang in there and lets make it happen! Today I plan on a swim on the way home at my sis's house. The weather looks great.

Morning everyone -

I'm really down so I'm going to skip individuals for now. Yesterday I did pretty good ..had cereal 1 cup I measured , 1 cup of cherries, a hotdog with a low cal 90 cal bun , 1 banana and a serving of sausage and peppers. I drank 4 1/2 32 ounce water bottles and I managed to gain again according to the scale. I just don't get it !

I won't let it get me down long though. I woke up today and did the denise Austin daily workout which incorporates aerobics, weights , toning and stretching.

Here is to a good thursday and friday everyone !

Nikki, you're doing great! You have come so far and are so disciplined--and nearly 40 pounds lighter because of it! I know there's a big whoosh in your future.

Carol, I'm thinking about those home-grown tomatoes...there'ws nothing like them! I hope that your week is calming down, and that you're able to get that treadmill.

Marie, I hope you're having fun at the casino. I not a gambler, either, and while I don't mind having a drink, they don't exactly fit into my eating program....but it's fun to watch the people who are regulars at the casinos.

I'm doing well today, eating on program. I did a cardio video this morning and went to Curves before lunch. My shoulder has been really bothering me, and I may have to break down and see a doc about it. Unless the doc can wave a magic wand and make it all better, I don't think I'll like any of the advice I might get (like surgery, physical therapy, cortisone shots) so I'll just take an Advil and think about it .

I hope that everyone is having a good day

Hi judy -

I am hoping for a woosh I love doing denise Austin's workout. I am going to have my boyfriend show me how to program my vcr. I tried and failed. Once that happens I won't have to get up at 7 am to workout or miss it. I noticed yesterday that I stopped losing weight when I stopped taking my vitamins and CLA tonalin daily. I started back doing that as well. I just have to be determined. This morning I had a banana and yogurt drink, for lunch I had a healthy choice meal and I plan to have watermelon as an afternoon snack then dinner wil be meat and veggies. I'm also on my 2nd 32 ounce water bottle.
I feel like if I could just break below 155 I will start losing regularly again. I am really hoping to do that by mid July.

Judy take care of your shoulder I lost 4 months of working out because I injured my leg and ignored it and it got worse.

One of my favorite snacks that carol just reminded me of is fresh tomatoes, or cucumbers and a light vinegerte dressing.

Here's to a good weigh in tomorrow.

Oh Judy the shoulder thing doesn't sound great. Hope your exercise doesn't injure it more. Hang in there for a few days but then yah better see the doc. Nothings worse than our bodies having issues messes up our sleep etc... I am getting the treadmill not even looking at it. I gave my hubby the money and he is going to get it with my daughter. I can't imagine it is junkie she is pretty well off and buys the best. She also has a exercise bike that I can have so I will have him look at it too. So sad people moving etc. hard to give so much up. Her house will go on the market in 2 weeks. So I am pleased to be getting the treadmill it will be really nice as lately I have slipped in exercise routines. I have managed to lose a lb. according to my scale this a.m. So 2 more to go before the 21st to reach my goal. I am actually shooting for the 15th we'll see. I have been better lately and feel it. Making some better choices. My friend came over for dinner last night we had eggplant parm. I made the night before a little pasta and killed a bottle of wine. We don't do that often nor did we plan it we did though. Ending to a hecktic week for both of us. I am working late tonight so this afternoon will break up my day with a 2 hr. break then go back. I have calling hrs. for a clients sister tonight. No real weekend plans maybe a few garage sales or moving ones, gardening got to do the flower beds now. Nikki I hope things start to improve for you soon if you continue to eat well and exercise yah have to lose at some pt. soon. So keep it up. Becareful of hot dogs and sausage very high in sodium levels and fats usually. In a hoffman hot dog the ones of course I like have something like 330 cals. and 30 fats thats without a roll go figure. So I limit that. Next week I have an annual clam bake so that day will be a free bee for me. But I am going to try to pre plan my week to be good so I have freedom to let loose a bit. It would be nice to set my next goal to be 4lbs. under my current one. I have another wedding August 18th and the hubby and I have our 33yr. anniversary on the 19th. Where does time go. I can't get over how fast this year has gone. Marie I hope your out there winning lots of cash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But most of all having fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone -

Cac- I had no idea about the sausage good to know. I had some for dinner last night.

I got up at 7 am to workout today and did a full aerobics/ interval show and 15 minutes of a yoga/pilates show. I also plan to swim in several 10-15 minutes spurts today.

I weighed in and I am down a pound this week but not back to 158 yet. I will take it Tuesday I was up to 163 so going back to 159 feels great.

hope everyone is doing well

Marie - Your bbq turkey sounded great! Lots of yummy leftovers too. I hope you had fun at the casino.

Carol - I'm sure you'll enjoy the treadmill. They come in handy when the weather won't cooperate. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you reach your goal on the 21st!

Judy - Sorry to hear you have a sore shoulder. I had a bad shoulder for years but it's gradually gotten better since I started working out at Curves. I had to avoid some of the machines at first, but now I can do them all ok. I had some deep tissue massage therapy that really helped too.

Nikki -I'm glad the dreaded scale is moving in the right direction for you again. You'll soon start losing steadily again with all the exercise you're doing. It sounds like you were hanging on to some water weight.

We're off to Southern California this afternoon where we'll be attending a wedding tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it as we haven't been to Ca for several years (we lived in Laguna Niguel for 15 years) and it will be fun to catch up with some of our friends. I weighed in today at 187.5 again - the same as last week. I find it amazing that I can weigh the same within half a pound for weeks at a time! I think I'm due for a loss (if I don't go overboard with eating when we're away).

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

A quick HELLO to everyone,

The work week is over. Even though I had Monday and Tuesday off, i still seemed long. In seven days I'm going to be off work for 3 weeks. That should be nice.

I walked again this morning even though I overslept by 15 minutes. It didn't throw me off too much. This weekend I'm going rollerblading (tomorrow) and hiking (Sunday). Then Monday it's back with Leslie. I was also thinking of trying the 1 mile Jog DVD that I got Sunday morning. My doggies can't go on as long of hikes during the hot of the summer.

I didn't weigh in since we went out to eat yesterday. I actually came a little under my calories but the Teriyaki Steak kabobs at Applebee's was sort of salty. So I've been downing water and will weigh in tomorrow. Hopefully a little more pounds have disappear (never to return again).

Marie - It sounds like you are having a real nice time. How was the casino? I love those teriyaki skewers I usually get it with the shrimp.

I am happy to say this morning I am down again but I won't mention numbers until we get into mid week. I am hoping for a big woosh of 3 lbs this week.

Morning everyone, I did it!!! I made the July 17th Goal. I've lost 10.2 pounds. Even a week early!!!! YEAH!!! In other words, I lost a pound this week. I'm up to 18 pounds lost. It's a great start but I have a long way to go.

The casino was a dump. I'd never been there and I didn't like it. But then again, I don't gamble. DS wanted to gamble on his 21st birthday and he spent too much money on a go-kart earlier this summer so he couldn't afford Reno. Dump or not, I wouldn't have gambled. I just don't like it. DH and my job was to watch DGS. We walked around the casion parking lot for about a hour, then we took a drive with him. We had a nice time. Dinner at Applebee's was way nicer.

Today is rollerblading day and I'm ready. I also am going to color my hair and have it trimmed. Beauty and exercise day. Then maybe I'll float in the pool. Sounds like a nice lazy day off.

Nikki, I sure glad the scale moved in the proper direction for you. I always hope for the big whoosh but it happens so seldom. One thin I have noticed is that when I have the big whoosh, then I get plateau'ed and discouraged. So I can take the 1 pound losses as long as they keep on coming.

Marie congrats on your loss

As for the big woosh as long as I am losing I will be glad. I am right around that plataeu are and determined to break it this time. If I just get to 155 I wil have done it. I'm taking today off from exercise I worked out an hour yesterday and am real sore. This week I will weigh in on Thursday because on Friday I will get 600 ccu's of medication injected into me and I know that will change my weight even if only a little.

Nikki, Definitely change the weigh in day for things that are out of your control. I did that this week since the DS's B-Day dinner on Thursday was so salty. I think we need any edge we can for seeing progress. No non-motivating things allowed. Is the Friday appointment something serious???

I had a great time rollerblading yesterday. I'm definitely getting back into that groove. In a few minutes it will be time to go hiking with the doggies. I also did the WATP 1 mile jog. At first I was like I can't do this, but then I got into it. I really liked it. Variety, you know...

Talk with everyone later. Hope you all are having a great weekend.

Hi Marie-

I'm not sure exactly how much all that liquid weighs but I 'd rather not think about it lol. I have a neurological disorder ad every 3 months I go in for 70 shots of mediation. Not serious just a life long thing.

Hiking sounds great. I swam yesterday and today. Tomorrow I go back to my 30 minutes of cardio/interval.

Penny hope your trip and the wedding was lots of fun you deserve it.
Nikki your doing well its all a learning experience what works for one person sometimes not for another. We are all so individualized when it comes to dieting and lifestyles. But you are figuring out what things help you and that is the long term goal so that you can live a healthier lifestlye and be happy with your choices. Marie sorry your experience at the casino wasn't a good one. I like ours but its pretty fancy and even if you just go to eat its a nice some folks don't gamble just look around and ck the place out and eat. Sounds like your doing great I am really proud of you! I am hanging in there did a lot of exercise this weekend including some swimming yesterday, gardening and walking. I got a exercise bike and treadmill from my daughters sister inlaw whom is moving out of state great price 25.00 how could I go wrong. I am going to get in the swing of a routine starting Tues. I will be able to fit it in at anytime now no excuses. It is a bit big and eventually I will switch my office into the other bedroom and have an office and workout area in one room. I don't want to keep it in the familyroom to cluttered looking. I think its going to work out nicely though. Well glad your all doing well. I bought a cute skirt this weekend and a pair of capris. They fit good that tells me I must be doing okay. Though I did eat steamed clams this week end. They are salty I guess but were steamed how bad are they for you anyone know? I have a clam bake on saturday my sister inlaw takes me every year for my birthday. I will have to be a bit careful to not go over board and try to keep it on the healthy choice side. I won't eat the ice cream or cakes but fresh fruit instead but have to eat the seafood thats whats so special for me. I love seafood. I am going to purchase some tuna steaks to grill for dinner this week. I am going to try my best to be good and store up some cals to use on the clam bake preplanning is a must this week. I will do the scale on friday. Hopefully it will be down. I got Tom for a spilt second this week what the heck he just doesn't know enough to stay gone. Glad he didn't stay soon I won't have to deal with him anymore I guess thats a plus with getting a bit older. Have a great day and Judy hope your doing well and everyone else I might of missed.
