Ellen--if you are the "cat lady" then I must be your sister....we have several stray cats that we feed and we have two shelters that we keep straw in. We can pet two of them the rest run if we even walk out to feed them. I had the meter reader tell me that if I stopped feeding them they would go away so I asked him why I would want to do that.
Ginny--I just have the two that have both moved out--my DD actually moved in with DS after his roommate went in the army and she is going through a divorce and to be nearer to college. They only live half an hour away so it's not too bad. Both call me on a regular basis and son and his girlfriend come out to our house about once a month. DD is actually coming today for me to highlight her hair. I am by no means professional at it but I do a decent job on both of our heads with a box of dye from Walmart. Hope you are feeling better.
Jane-we moved to 30 acres of woods and if I had it to do over we would have had a couple more trees taken down in our yard area. The first summer I almost drove myself nuts with the clearing of everything--you do a little and then there's a little more and hard to find a stopping point. Once we got the yard fenced in for the dogs it actually became easier. My grandmother's yard looked like something out of better homes and gardens with the whole yard a riot of color and I am slowly getting mine into shape. For awhile I worked two jobs and there was no time. Second job was to fill the void when my dd was still at home but working and driving herself. I quit the second job in the fall when DD's husband left and she needed me. She's back to being Miss Independent again--for which I am glad she was able to pick up the pieces and move on. Someone told me to pick few things to do and the empty nest/turning 40 blues would ease up. Once it warms up the outside yard work will fill some time.
Ginny--hope your son is feeling better--it's hard when your kids are hurt or hurting.
Hi Cristina!!
Marti-so glad about the new job--I actually loved a second shift schedule--How's Jhani?
Sue--have fun with the grandbaby!
Susan--hope things go better with Rach--DH and DS had issues during the teenage years and DS went a little wild for awhile. Thankfully he got out of the self-destructive mode. He'll be 21 on April 1 and in the last year or so he has really grown up and made a complete turn-around--just let Rach know that you love her unconditionally and she will come back around.
Hi Angie!! How's the arm?
Hope everyone else is fine too..

Just popping in to say hi! Ellen - welcome back - I missed you and your cute pictures. I enjoyed the pictures of your house, so if you have more with the new paint job, I would love to see them. You have quite a talent for decor, if memory serves.

Well, life has not calmed down much. Weight has stubbornly stayed put The good news is my knee has been feeling better, so I have been getting back to the gym more. I did something to my knee a few weeks back, so I scaled back my visits to the gym. Today is yoga day!

I am reading, but just haven't had time to post, so I hope to do some catching up this week....til then have a good one, ladies

good morning ladies,
I hope everyone is having a good day. The sun is shining and it's already 30 degrees F. so looks like a beautiful day. I just spoke with my son who hurt his back. He is better but still in a lot of pain. He couldn't work his part time job yesterday, but tomorrow he has to go back to school. He starts being in charge so he can't miss it. He has to drive 20 minutes each way, and sitting in a car is very painful. I feel so helpless, there is nothing I can do to help him. I know he'll get through it, but I hate when stuff like this happens.

I got up this morning, rode 4.4 miles and am now ready for the day. I may ride a little farther before the day is done. I wish I could go to church, but am still coughing a lot and wouldn't want to disrupt the service, and also I don't have a car. Son #4 is using my car for the past month. It started out as borrowing it for the weekend or maybe a week till he found another car of his own, but that week has been extended. I get to use it on Saturdays when I need to do shopping. Something is backwards here. Well, I will do some work in the office until my grandbabies get here.

I didn't tell you, but all my 5 boys have names starting with J. My dh starts with a J also. All 5 of my grandbabies also start with a J. and now I found out the newest grandbaby which is due in about 2 weeks is going to be another boy,(they already have 2) and he will be named after my dh with a J.
The grandbabies are also in alphabetical order with the names... it's rather funny. We seem to like patterns in our lives around here. My first 4 boys are all 2 yrs. and 4 days apart exactly. Then the fifth one is 3 yrs. 1 month to the day apart from #4. I am a really organized person and people tease me that I even organized my children's births.

Well, I better quit. I'm sure this is boring you all.... but hey, this place is called chit chat...right? right

have a good one

Morning all,
Ellen, funny thing is Im not much of a cat person, but I don't like hearing of them suffering. To give me something to do I have been crochetting blankets for the animal shelters, and plan to go throu all my old blankets and towels and give them away also, makes great beds for them. Any ol excuse to go shopping for more...lol

Ginny, my 3 older brothers myself and sister are all 2 years apart, then a big gap of 6 years for my 2 younger brothers THEN a bigger gap with the baby 7 years after that. There is a 21 year difference between the oldest and youngest. And our names don't all start with the same letter, we are named after songs or whatever is going on in the world, except the youngest I named him.

Jules, my old house we had a huge yard and I would be out there for hours,,,working away,,,I would come in the house dirtier then the boys. And found I had a problem with buying bedding palns,,,got to having to sneak them in,,,lol And being that I worked in a retail store that had plants and pots I was in trouble. This house has a stamp size back yard,,, I only have the front part of the house that I plant, then a group of pots. Ive already redsigned the back yard to how I think it should be,,possibly take the deck apart and make it half the size,,,reuse the wood and make planters, or a small shed.
I laugh cause every year I watch our neighbours do their plants,,,he does it all. He goes out does his shopping, then with his COLORED map he starts to plant. IVe seen him redig everything up cause he had it wrong in measurements...lol

Didn't do much lately, keeping up with cleaning, I reorganized the pantry,,,YUCK! I threw away so much stuff, don't know how or why I had all that. But its all neat and tidy now. Have about 10 loads of laundry to fold, yay...lol
Going to go watch the movie The Man...really like Gene Levi...hilarous actor.

well better get..

Angie--It's a good thing I don't work in a store that could have plants either indoor or outdoor or even pots!! I got a part time job at Bath & Body Works to deal with pre-empty nest when my son moved out and my daughter got a job and her own car. My husband joked that I was going to have to get a third job to pay for all the B & B stuff!! I do miss the employee discount and dd misses my Victoria's Secret discount which is an affiliate of B & B.
I don't have color coded maps...yet...but maybe I should think about it.....

Katy--sorry to hear about your knee--mine's been bothering me alot lately--went back to the PT I went to after the accicent and he's concerned with the amount of creakiness I still have--wants me to see a specialist. I am going to wait until fall or winter if I have to have surgery. Have lots of yardwork and other stuff planned for the summer and early fall.

Ginny--Dh & I are both J's--DS was before DH and his first initial is R like his biological father and middle initial is M like my middle initial. DD was almost a J--I wanted her to be either Jennifer Rose or Jennifer Leigh--ended up Teri Lynne. Go figure.

Doing laundry and miscellaneous sewing and all that other fun stuff....

Hi again,
Jules, that is cool about your family with J's too. I of course am not a J, nor is son #2's wife. and son #5 's fiance isn't either. But son #3 married a J also. In fact she comes from a family of 3, all J's to.. funny thing about them is when I was pregnant with him, they thought I might be having twins cause he came early, back in those days we didn't no ultrasounds at the drop of a hat...but anyway, if he was to be a girl he was going to be Jessica. So he marries a twin, named Jessica.. funny isn't it?

Also Angie, that is quite a difference in your family ages. Seven is a good size family. Yes, 21 years is a big difference but I have an even bigger one in mine. There was 10 of us, (4 are now gone) and I am the youngest. The difference between me and my oldest sister is 35 years. OK, you are gasping, 5 are half brothers and sisters. We all have the same father. My father was 62 when I was born, my mother was 40. But my real full blooded sister is 22 years older than me. Her oldest is only 1 year younger than I am. When I was born I was already an aunt 8 times. As it is, I am now an aunt 27 times, a great aunt about 60 times, and a great great aunt 4 times. The great great aunt is to my full blooded nieces and nephews too. That's pretty good for a 56 yrs old don't you think?

The grandbabies have gone. Was a short visit, only stayed a couple of hours. Finished all my office work and now I can just rest. Laundry is done, just me and hubby for supper so going to be something light.

Well, will check in again tomorrow after work. Oh, speaking of the neighbor with the colored map, you would be surprised with the ones that come in with those maps and measurements and want help with what to plant and how to plant and how many needed etc., in my own yard, I am not that fussy. Just put them in where ever I think they'll do good and put em in heavy if I have them.. I try to plant some of all the new things we grow so I can see how they do over the summer. It's sort of a trial garden. But it's no science, just plop them in... do it so often it just seems to be natural...

ok have a good one eveyone

Exactly,,,Im like you Ginny,,,shove in as many, I go for as much color. I remember way before we moved I had over 20 plants in our house,,,now I have 6. The one plant Ive had for over 18 years, its a snake plant (don't know the proper name) but when I got in a easter basket it was maybe 3 inches tall, its now over 3 feet tall, and I have to repot it again soon. Thinking I would like to break it apart and make more plants, and give them away.

Finished watching smallville season 3, now I really need to fold all the laundry and clean up supper dishes.

HI LADIES
When I said I would be late I didn't plan on being this late, oh well better late than never right . I would like to say I have had a most productive day but that would be a fib.I did nothing today ,absolutely nothing, which is why nothing got done. Its safe to say staying up till four in the morn will have that effect on you, not you but me, .
HI GINNY ....When I began reading about your family the names, I thought that is interesting, then when I got to the ages and sisters and aunts and the age differences and how many kids and how many times, I went for a drink, nah just kidding, I do that on occasion, kid not go for a drink,LOL o c c a s i o n is it two ss or one s , honest I didn't go for a drink LOL. Thats quite a large family you have there. You are so lucky to have Grandbabies, I was almost a Grandma this year , but my son and his girlfriend lost the baby about three months into the pregnancy.I guess it wasn't meant to be. I am sorry to hear about your sons back , I hope he's feeling better , back injuries are painful, I hurt mine a few months ago lifting something very heavy up the stairs, and spent a week in bed. Any way I hope your cough is better soon , take care of yourself

HI JULES
vICTORIAS SECRET HUH!!!! that must have been fun, I know what you mean about the discounts and such , I worked at Eatons years ago and I was one of there best customers, LOL sort of defeated the purpose of having a job. I like your method of planting to, I have been gardening for years , and I have happily gone about my business planting what I wanted where I wanted , and then my dear son takes landscaping design, and all of a sudden I am doing it wrong, well the nerve LOL all these years I thought it was looking pretty good and now to be told otherwise, kids, LOL

HI ANGIE
I know you like dogs , everyone has their preference , I had a golden retreiver , but she had to be put down about 6 years ago, that was hard. Honestly the cats just seemed to find me,LOL they just keep showing up at my house, and that was before I started feeding them . Now the word is out that theres a fast food joint called Mac Ellens served many over the years.LOL I think its wonderful that you crochet blankets for the shelter, they need things like that. I can't tell you how many blankets I have given up for them here. The strays are usually afraid of soft things at first , but once they overcome the fear they are so happy to have a soft place to sleep..like me. . I will need to replenish my supply to , I like those fleece blankets they sell at walmart, they wash nice and are so cozy for the cats, unlike you I can't crochet so I am forced to shop Hope your having a great night , hows the weather out there sunny and hot I suppose. did you give my boys hugs?

HI KATIE
Thanks its good to be back , it was tricky getting a computer and after a while I just gave up, but my sweet girl found me one and here I am. I haven't got any pictures yet, I am still in the process of finishing it all. I didn't just paint the living room I did the whole house all by myself ,and with some ups and downs emotionally it has been a long road , but I am well on my way to finishing it hopefully a few more weeks. I haven't had any sofas in the living room for over six months when my son moved he took the ones I had ,once I decided that it was to expensive to go that route. It took me quite a while to get up the ambition to even want to look for new loveseats,I thought it was futile since I had already picked the paint colour , I mean what are the chances of finding something to match after the fact. After Christmas I gathered up my woes and set out to find what I was expecting not to, and after about two furniture stores there it was the perfect loveseat made just for me,it had to be lol so the deal was done, I went home with my 3x3 fabric swatches 3 of them for 3 different patterns ,taped them to the wall to see if they matched and I swear I heard angels singing yes it matched. (yes I am indeed deranged at this point) So on april the lst and I now gasp as I say that APRIL FOOLS DAY OH NO WHAT IF THE DYE LOT IS DIFFERENT sorry Katie I didn't mean to write my memoirs lol yes I am back and if all goes well I will show you the pictures which really was all I was trying to say . LOL I hope your knee is getting better, and the weight I know all about the weight,I am still struggling with that 35 lbs, and it need to come off, I am going to be Mother Of The Bride at Christmas.

HI EVERYONE ELSE WHERE ARE YOU ALL HIDING MRS. CHRISTI MY SUSIE QUE AND MARTI JANE COME OUT GIRLS I HAVE MISSED YOU ALL WE NEED TO TALK

It's almost officially Spring, ladies!

Ginny - hope your son's back is better. If you notice someone else is online, you can PM them, and ask them to join you in the Jaded Ladies chat room. We love hearing about your life, btw. Oh, all of my dgds are into princesses. And Dora the Explorer, lol.

Marti - OMG!! I'm so excited about your job news. How cool that you'd get to have an earlier shift. They must think a lot of you to pick you for that job.

Sue - so glad you had lots of fun with your DD and DGS this past week/weekend. We had to take down some trees, too, but only one that was very big. The rest were small, including a non-bearing apple tree.

Angie - you are the cleanest girl I know! Always cleaning something. I guess you noticed I got to skip Spring cleaning, lol. That's the one good thing about moving. About my weight, I'm trying to take off what I had gained back of the 85 pounds. I don't know the exact number because of my scales, but I know tight clothes. And "too little" clothes. <sigh>

Ellen - being a grandma is the best thing! It brought out a side of me I never knew I had. Btw, you'll make a beatiful mother of the bride at Christmas.

Jules - I've got Fern's plants in the yard that need to be placed, and some of my own, from the other house. Fern had a rose garden and we're thinking of turning it into a bigger garden by adding the plants that like sun around the roses. So many choices!

Katy - glad to hear your knee is better!

Cristina - hope you had a great weekend.

I had a great time with Madison and Mary this weekend. Mary really needed the break. I took lots of pictures so I can make a little album for Madi, like I did for her twin when we went to WDW.

I did a horrible job with food and now I'm regretting the choices I made. What the heck is wrong with me anyway???????

Well, it's late. I'll chit chat with you tomorrow.

HIYA LADIES
The sun is shining but its really cold , not at all like spring. I was hoping to open the door and a nice warm breeze would tickle my face , but nope not today. Oh I know thats just wishful thinking and somewhat premature , but I can dream. So where is everyone today, working ,busy ,shopping ,I presume, I feel very lonely here, seems to me this happened the last time I went away and came back, everyone when into hiding, it feels like dejavu all over again...Mrs Christina where are you Susie Que where are you Jane... Jules... Ginny ...Sue... Katy... Marti ...Mindee...Angie... everyone , anyone......ok then I am going to have some lunch , both my daughter and son are coming, so I will be back in a bit to check on you girls, don't make me come in there and find you , because I will if need be, and if you think the computers slow now wait till it downloads me Fine then I'm going but I will be back, sure as that 10 lbs .

Hello ladies...

Lots going on here since I posted last.

ELLEN...so good to see you back! We have missed you! Wow, where to start with me. Well...can't remember what I was going to paint that was taupe...thinking it was Josh's room? We did find the right shade, of course it's been so long, I don't know the color name. Turned out nice and he liked it! Speaking of Josh...he joined the Army last August and is killing me. We took two trips to GA to see him while in Basic. Then he was home for a month during Christmas and then back to GA. He is stationed in Hawaii and having a great time...in between training. April 19 he is off to CA in the desert for more training for a month. May 19 he is coming home until June 2 then he is headed back to Hawaii and off to Iraq. About the house...we did the taupe in his room and then the strip technique in blue in the master bedroom and now we are selling our house! We are afraid of what will be built behind us so want to move before any building starts. So between Josh being in the Army and us trying to sell the house I am going Anyway, it is nice to have you back!

GINNY...My mother started out with two J names, as did my Aunt. Mine are Jason, Joshua and Carrie. Carrie is after her GGM on her dads side and my GGM, otherwise she would have been Jennifer. She didn't get the name Jennifer because BIL/SIL beat us to it. It is a name I have loved since I babysat my cousins little girl Jennie (Jennifer) Lynn when I was a teenager. I LOVE the J (& biblical) names though! WTG on all your biking!

SUSAN...hope all is well with you and you had a nice weekend.

KATY...glad your knee is better, and you'll be getting to the gym more. My weight seems to be stuck too, but at least I'm not gaining! Of course I had planned on going to the TOPS meeting last week and forogt about it until later that evening. I kept thinking there was somewhere I was supposed to go and couldn't remember. Then at 10 p.m. it came to me! Made a note this time so I don't forget...don't know where my head has been lately.

ANGIE...how are you feeling? You sound like me...cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. I have a bag of frozen food waiting to be thrown in the garbage on Thursday. Cleaned out the deep freezer of stuff that had been in there almost a year! Most of it being frozen dinners or pizzas that Josh. I am tired of cleaning! I too am not a cat person but the last couple of years I have found myself wanting one. Thinking it may be easier than having to house train another dog. But...V doesn't really want one and Jason is allergic so. If I wanted to be mean I could get one and force Jason to move out, but I wouldn't do that. I know he's old enough he should be out on his own but right now he can't find a decent paying part-time job so he is working at a call center from 12 -5 p.m. and going to school in the mornings. Anyway...

JULES...I like the name Teri Lynne. Of course my best friend in High School was named Teri Lynn. My neighbors are Terry & Teri Elliott. Funny to be married to someone with the same name, bet that gets confusing. I worked at a Hospital gift shop as a volunteer for many years and the joke was if I were getting paid, on Friday I would end up paying them!

SUE...WOOHOO! Hope all goes well and you guys get to start building this week! I say that because you can never predict the weather. We have had rain since Friday and it is supposed to turn to snow sometime today-supposed to get 2-4 inches. Weird to say the least. Glad you had a grand time with the grandkids.

MARTI...WOOHOO! on the new shift! It's what you have been wanting all along!

JANE...glad you had a nice weekend with Mary and Madison.

And...HI to everyone else I tried my best to get everyone but still feel like I missed someone.

Not much going on with me...same old crap, different day. Cleaning, doing laundry, trying to keep the house clean for showings, etc. blah, blah, blah. We were supposed to have an Open House Sunday but was cancelled. The realtor didn't think many people would be out looking in this weather so he cancelled it. I was glad to have a break so it worked out fine for me. Had several showings last week but still no offer. Keeping my fingers crossed for one soon I am so afraid we will lose the new house.

Not doing much exercise wise and the scales are not moving. But I guess that is a good thing. I may not be losing but I haven't gained any so that is always a good thing. I AM going to the TOPS meeting tomorrow evening. Hoping that will get me motivated and get my a$$ moving once again. Anyway, that's all I have for now. Need to get going and look some things up and then do some more cleaning. I'm finding that if I clean something everyday I won't be overwhelmed with everything at one time-works for me.

Take care ladies and have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Ladies,

Jane, thats great you three had an awesome trip. I wouldn't beat yourself up about the weight gain, you know what you have to do. As for cleaning all the time, trying to keep up with Christina,,,lol Monte has informed me that we don't do spring cleaning till the basement is done. Ill be doing spring cleaning in the fall the way that basement is coming along...lol

Ginny, any news from your son and his back?

Ellen, So are you ready for the loveseats? We went shopping and bought a loveseat and chair for the living room, its so small thought we would down size in the furniture. Thought we would be ready in a month,,,ya,,,the furniture has been sitting in my office for a month now...that means we are 2 months behind in the basement. Fingers crossed that the furniture in the living room will even fit down the stairs...*yikes
Im painting the living room sage, warm earth tones.Trimmed in white with milk choc. colored leather furniture. I went and bought new curtains last week, sage, because our house is an open concept it blends into the dining room/kitchen. So I don't think painting the long wall sage would be too much *sage*.
Im going to be doing a major furniture switch from each room. Ive got Monte scared cause of all the changes I want to do.

I didn't watch my movie last night instead I watched *I shouldn't be alive*

Ive had a headache/migrain since late last night, could barely sleep, so feeling yucky right now. Nausea, we are in for a mjor weather change or I need to see the chiropractor. Made an appointment already for tomorrow. OR I still get migrains before what would be my TOM. I pray its not that, am hoping with surgery I elimitated that problem too.

Okay, I am trying to get outta here ladies, lol!

Have to say HI to you Ms. ANGIE!

Sorry you are feeling bad, hope you get to feeling better soon. Migraines are the worst so I feel for ya. I don't get them often, thank goodness. But when I do I just go to bed with a cold, wet rag on my face. Close the blinds and turn the radio off. I can't take the noise or light when I get one and like a hangover, I just have to sleep it off. Yes, I do know what it;s like to have a hangover, lol. But it's been a VERY long time since I have had one, very long time. Not much of a drinker now days. Okay, getting side tracked. Try and take it easy Angie and feel better soon.
