Morning Ladies,
I haven't said  in a couple of days. I've been pretty busy running our foster daughter to appointments. Looks like everyone is doing great and staying on program. FANTASTIC!! HY...I very much consider washing a dog exercise. My dog Ozzy HATES baths. If he gets an inkling a bath is in the works, he hides. He's only a 20lb poodle, but I have to wash him in my deep laundry tub so he can't escape, and it's no easy task. I don't know who get's wetter, me or the dog. I didn't get any exercise in yesterday by way of my tapes, but I got it in by cleaning house and doing the laundry. I hate doing it, but the cobwebs were begining to take up residence and had a guest welcome sign out!! So far this week I have stayed true to myself and stayed on program. Hope to show a nice loss by Monday.:D Lastnight I couldn't wear my nightgown, it finally fell apart, so I had to dig in my drawer and find something to wear. Pulled out some PJ's that I could never wear, I looked and felt like a stuffed sausage the last time I wore them, which was 7 years a go. Well, they fit and they were even loose! Made me feel GREAT!! Make's me even more want to stay on program. I'll try to come back later on today to do some more personal post. Want to go up to my room and work on my quilt for awhile. This afternoon, my foster daughter and I are going to the movies. Make it a good on ladies. ~Cheryl |
Hi . . . This morning got off to a foggy start but it is nice and sunny and mild this afternoon. Have to take my sore knee out for some groceries but after that it can rest for a bit. Did the stretching/limbering part of my new Yoga DVD last night and really proved how much I need it. Wow are my arms and shoulders ever tight. Better make this a daily event. At least you don't have to sweat too much. :p
That was a lovely and inspiring post, itsforme. Thank you for the very good advice. Wow, Cheryl what a great NSV. Although it is sad to have to say goodbye to your old standby nightgown. ;) Have a great 'rest of the weekend', gang. Keep up the good stuff and here's an extra dose of :dust: See you soon. :carrot: |
Hi everyone, just here checking in and making changes to my tracker. Hope everyone is well.
I haven't been around much because my house is upside down at the moment with painters and carpenters and such. It's such a headache but exciting at the same time. I have to dig my way to find my computer :) I really can't wait to get back to being able to check on the group on a regular basis again. Hope everyone is doing well with their weight loss. I have read a few posts and see congrats are due for a lot of you. I have been able to stick to my diet through all this turmoil here at home, so that is good. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and check in with you all. See ya soon! |
Just checking in to say good morning! Great news about the PJs, Cheryl!!! Yay don't you just love it when that happens LOL

I'm BAAAAAAACK!
Hey Chickies!
I'm Back from the Islands, Mon (insert Island-type accent) and woooooeeeeeeee do I have a great tan! Missed Ya'll! Got on the scale this morning and I'm down a pound!!! Am not moving my weight-tracker tho, because it's just too hard to believe with all the Tortuga Rum Cake I ate!!! Had a wonderful time and Grand Cayman is a wonderful island. It's clean, clean, clean....the people are mega-friendly, you can drink the water & eat the veggies....they have great grocery stores...the beach and water are to-die-for....and I loved it SO MUCH that I bought a time-share, sight unseen by HH!!! How BRAVE is THAT!? SO....now we own a teeny piece of British Virgin Islands Paradise! Headed there again next year for TWO weeks, my SIL's week and our week back-to-back. We're actually going to allow our HH's to go along (they're brothers) for one of the weeks. Looks like everyone is doing well in my absence, I'm glad to see! Looks like many have lost or maintained their weights....YAY! :cheer: More later, Girls.....trying to get caught up around here :dizzy: Gotta get back in the Gazelle groove with my buddy, Tony too. Not today tho....too much to do. |
Hello out there . . . sunny and fairly mild today and it's supposed to continue all week . . . I hope, I hope.
Carla . . . great going in the face of all the confusion. Very impressive. Hope you find the computer again soon. :D Misti/Dance . . . hey, girl, I confuse easily :^: How come the name change? I like the new picture, though. Jill . . . sounds like you had an absolutely great time. ;) glad you're back, we missed you. Hope that lost pound turns out to be real. My day is not going too great. I had a very bad 'hypo' in the middle of the night (very low blood sugar) and after I had a little nibble to bring it back up, I just kept on eating. To make a long story a little shorter . . . by 4 am, I'd eaten half of my day's calories. :o Oh well, stuff happens. The rest of the day is going better but obviously it's not going to be one of my lower-calorie days. :dizzy: Anyway, I hope all the rest of you are going to have a really great day. Keep on doing the good stuff and I'll see you soon. :carrot: |
Come out . . . come out . . . wherever you are . . .
My yesterday finished up a lot better than it started out and with one day (today) left to go, the week is looking OK. Of course, tomorrow morning we'll see what the scale has to say. :^: Another nice, sunny but windy day. Almost smells like Spring ;) But it never pays to get too excited until mid-april around here. :D Have a good day, gang. Keep doing the good things. :carrot: |
hi
HI again everyone, I had to work the weekend and babysit yesterday, so not much time! Did I say not much? I should say none! I didn't do too well with the diet over the weekend and when I fall off it's so hard for me to get back on! It's bad enough at work! Always something the doctors bring in or the patients families or the nurses themselves! This weekend it was homemaid chocolate chip cookies. Who can resist that smell? At lest I stopped with one! And chocolate covered strawberries! They were so awsome! AND, if that wasn't enough, we babysit wiht the grandkids sat. night after I worked and my son brought dinner over so I wouldn't have to feel them. Pizza and Mexican! When I come home exhausted and starving any way that was just too tempting! But i'm up and running again.
Jill, Glad to see you back! Sounds like you had a wonderul time! Got any pictures to show us? And to lose a pound too?!!!! You ROCK! Cheryl, Isn't it a wonderul feeling to put on something that was tight and have it fit? That just gives you so much incentive! Makes it all worth it. Carla, I still remember when we had so remodeling done! My house and life was a mes for awhile! That drives me crazy!!! And to be able to stay on your diet while this is going on! You are an inspiration! It's for me, You're so right, sometimes we spend so much time looking forward we forget to look back and see how far we've come. Meow, I know how scarey those hypo reactions are! Hope you're doing ok now. Thanks for the Will Power Dust. Right now I need a double dose! Everyone have a great day, Freda |
Here's a pic of my feet at one of the pools LOL

This was taken from my bedroom balcony. It was heaven!

One more....THE BEACH! This pic was taken from my beach chair. The guys in the picture are putting out a work raft to begin construction on a new dock which will have a boardwalk, tiki bar & dive shop. The old one was washed away in Hurricane Ivan. (2004)
It gives you an idea of how beautiful it is! The waves break waaaaay out at a reef that surrounds the island....so the waters are calm at most of the beaches there. Did I tell you I bought a little slice of this Paradise?? http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...daWorkDock.jpg |
Jill Thanks for the pictures...I'm trying not to be envious! Sounds like you had a great vacation, and now you're an island owner!! Well, a piece of island owner is still wonderful.
I don't know how you lost weight while vacationing, but that is great! I don't know where everyone is on here...maybe you're just "lurking" like I've been lately. I'm glad meowee and Freda and others are still on here. I still like to read everyone's posts, and I'm still plugging away on my diet and hope to continue on and on and on. Today my daughter and I went to eat at Panera Bread. It was delicious; had the low fat black bean soup and half a turkey sandwich without the mayo. They let you pick a side of bread, chips or an apple....and I picked the apple. I don't even believe I was that good! the best news for me is I checked my blood pressure at Walmart today, and it was about 128/76, if my memory serves me...that has to be a result of all this healthy eating, because before Christmas my blood pressure was way up, even on medication. I did lose another 1 1/2 pounds on Monday...making my total loss for 2006 13 1/2 pounds. |
Trying to get past the pictures and back into reality! Oh how I can't wait for July as I'm heading for the beach myself. The first vacation ALONE for hubby and I! Well deserved I might add!
O.k. ladies. The scale has once again stopped. I do this every few weeks or so and then I panic. I'm also confused by the tape measure. It hasn't moved in 5 weeks! Grrr. I just don't understand how someone can lose 6 or 7 pounds and not inches! Sorry, but I'm a real downer today. I guess that's what these boards are for. I do try to keep plugging away despite progress...but always, always begin to panic when I don't. With this insulin resistance and having tried to lose for years previously, with unexplained failure ( until diagnosis ) I am so worried that my body will once again stop responding to my efforts. I've upped the duration and intensity of my workouts. I've switched up from 2# to 5# weights ( ouch! ) I'm carefully watching portions etc and eating very low carb ( carbs seem to be poison to my body ). I am seeing more muscle tone but the tape measure hasn't changed so... O.k. I'm done whining. Anyone have any suggestions I'd love to hear them! My biggest ( lol, no pun intended! ) gripe is my 40 inch waist! I have to try to fit into a mother of the groom dress by June and I sooooo don't want to look pregnant! HELP! :( |
Yes, Chicks...my little slice of paradise is exciting, but alas, I MUST get back to reality and to my Gazelle!! Still haven't had a Tony Session since landing.....but will try today. Still hanging in there at 176, so I guess my UNBELIEVABLE loss is real despite all that Rum Cake!!! I'm astounded! I'll take it! Now to work on my Myrtle Beach Goal....lose 7 more lbs by May 10.
The day after I got home I had an ultrasound of my carotid artery and passed w/ flying colors. Great news! No problems....it was just part of my annual. Next up, the dreaded mammogram (my mom died of breast cancer) and pap. I always breathe a sign of relief after the mammo....kinda like beating the breast cancer beast one more year! Hope everyone has a wonderful day....one more day of errands for me and then I'll be caught up. My new job is keeping my tan  and tomorrow it will be 85 so YAY! :cheer: |
Just a quick hello and Good Morning as I head out to take my "pill" for the scans this afternoon and tomorrow AM.
Sigh :( I want to know what is going on with my thyroid BUT I wish I didn't have to go through all of the testing - lol!! I just get scared at ANY medical facility. If anyone has any spare good thoughts or prayers, please send them to Ms. Scareddy Cat me today. Thank you and I'll let everyone know how things went. Hy |
