Checking in. Always seem to be scrambling to get out the door, sorry for not addressing each individually. But I do read and we're all doing well, just in the fact that we're persevering!
Bumped things up a bit. Hit a "mini-plateau" that was driving me nuts! Kept fluctuating between 2-4 pounds. Added another 3 miles 2 times a week in addition to the 4 miles I do each morning, and 5 miles I do each day on the weekends. Seems to have worked. Lost another pound. I'll take it! Now...just to keep moving forward and I'll be happy. Have a great day all! |
Yay glad you are pounding off those pounds!! Sometimes we have to show them who is boss!! :)

Made it back!
:dizzy: Things have been pretty crazy the last couple of weeks. I have checked in everyday to see how everyone is doing. It's always fun to see what all of you are up to.Right now we are up to our:censored: in snow.It is flurrying a little right now again.Just got the driveway cleaned out so we could get moving again.Thank goodness it is March so this can't last too long.
I have sort of fallen off the exercise routine, but I'm getting back on it slowly. The good news is that I have given the weight:devil: back 2 pounds, and he or she can keep them! I will settle for a pound a week but know that I could do better if I would get back to the exercises.I did a really good workout yesterday on the treadmill, added only 5 more minutes, now doing 35 minutes, but it all helps.Am headed back to do at least 20 right now. I appreciate all the good vibes I get from your posts,I can use all the support I can get;and I know I can find it right here.Hope everyone has a great day:wave: I will try to get on more often. Way to go Meowee, Itsforme, and Donna on your weight loss for the week!:bravo:
Cheryl Congrats on maintaining...to me that in itself is an accomplishment.:cp: Donna, thanks for not sending all your snow; I heard Nebraska got slammed; we got the low end of what was predicted here, but a lot of wind also. What a bummer, when we're so ready for spring. I agree with you meowee, it does make for that dull feeling...how we feel inside sometimes matches what's going on outside! But today the sun is shining again, and it's a balmy 35 degrees right now. I also applaud all of you who are exercising....I exercised my fingers crocheting last night. I did get up during one song on Nashville Star and "dance around" (I'm using that term very loosely) a little. I have never been able to exercise consistently in any form or fashion...even when I was a kid my worst grades were in phys ed...I hated that class!!!!! Remember the ugly gym suits and showering in stalls with no curtains....Ah, the 60's! |
In rereading some posts I forgot to mention your great weight loss Elyn, even with a bum ankle. I know when I broke my leg way back when, just sitting around with nothing to do but go to physical therapy just made me want to eat more. So that is great that you are still losing.
Freda I don't really have any words of wisdom as to why your mirror tells you that you still look fat...117 pounds girl!!!!!!!! I think I'm the opposite, I never think I look as fat as I really am until I see myself in a photo. Maybe you should get some pictures taken of yourself, side view, front view...and then compare them to your "former self" pictures...a visual comparison might give your brain the jolt it needs to convince you that yes, you are indeed a slim person. |
Godd afternoon everyone, Haven't been on for a couple of days. I had to work Wed. and after a 12 hour shift just don't have the time. Today i had to go to a meeting at work, on my day off!!! So I still have all the house work and running to do and it's noon! I'm off tomorrow and then it's back to work for the weekend.
Congrats every one that lost weight this week!!!! Way to go! Every pound gone is a pound gone. Just keep going, and they will all be gone! I know it's hard to be patient, I sure don't like it. I want the weight off RIGHT NOW. But slow and steady gets you there too! Everyone keep up the good work! Freda |
Hi gang . . . congratulations to the losers and to the exercisers and to you too, Gail . . . you exercise my favourite way. :o
Actually my WATP and Yoga DVDs have arrived. Now, of course, I have to get up the energy to stick them in the machine instead of just looking at the cases. :dizzy: Not much else is new around here. Another dull and relatively cold day and a little fresh snow on the ground. I think the weather was more Spring-like in January. Have a great day, everybody, and keep doing all the right things. :carrot: |
Nothing going on with me either - just waiting for the 29th so I can get my thyroid scan and MOVE on one way or another!!!
At my weigh-in today I didn't lose but I also didn't gain. I'll take it :) Didn't work out today but I did wash 3 of my dogs - I don't know if that counts for much since they are maltese :D Hugs, Hy |
Almost 5 a.m. and not even in my workout clothes! Ugh! I actually woke up today thinking it was Saturday and had just settled in in front of the computer, coffee in hand...and realized its only Friday! I don't think they'd understand if I didn't show up for work.
Lost another pound...so it's evident that adding just another 2 nights of exercise ( 3 miles ea ) is really challenging my body. Fingers crossed that it continues to work...I really don't want to continue to add miles until I reach goal...I'll be walking from here to June continuously! lol Ladies, make it a great day, even though it's not Saturday! We're all doing great! |
Hy, hope the thyroid scan comes out okay! I can relate as I had surgery a couple years ago for a tumor. Really made a mess out of the weight thing but am back on track trying to get it off!
LOL itsforme... must have been quite a disappointment when you realized it is only Friday! As for the walking... LOL you sound like the "perfect candidate" for our Coast to Coast Challenge... cyberwalk across the US!! |
Hello, everyone, Sounds like all of us have the winter time BLAHS! Spring where are you? I think we're all ready! Won't it be nice to get outside and walk and look at al the flowers? And actually see your neighbors again!
But, we still have to exercise. Boring, yes, necessarry, oh yes!!! I find that I have to plan it into my day. If I do the treadmill it's at 12 because that is the time a show I watch comes on. I flip on the tv and get on my treadmill. If I do a tape I plan what time i'm going to do it. When that time rolls around, no excuses, do the tape! It's for me, you don't have to keep adding exercise! Actually, you can exercise too much! Nothing that I'm ever going to have to worry about, but you can. Probally your body is getting used to one form of exercise and you need to shake it up a little. If you walk on the treadmill, change the angle. Get some new tapes. So you lift weights? Works better than anything for me! had to LOL at the ideal of thinking it was Sat.! Bet that got you moving quickly! Meow, have fun with those new tapes! I'm so akward that it takes me a few times to do them right! But new ones challenge you. Hy, I think washing 3 dogs is exercise! Washing 1 dog wears me out! Hope you get good news about your thyroid test! Not gaining is a plus, Just keep up the good work! Take care every one and have a good weekend. It's my weekend to work! Yuck! Freda |
Hello out there in cyberland. The sun has been trying to peek through a little today and that makes me feel a little better.
Well . . . I thought I was making headway last evening. I watched my WATP DVD all the way through and then decided . . . "I can do that". Yep . . . about minute two of the warm-up, I pulled something in the back of my right knee and it's so sore I can hardly walk on it today. So, my great "I can do that" attitude will have to wait a day or two. My exercise for today will be mostly keyboarding (ala 3FC) and drinking water. :dizzy: There was nothing strange about the WATP routine that caused the problem, just my trick joints. Of course the dog washing counts, Hy. Especially since they are long-haired. Oh, I've done that, itsforme. So horrible to discover it's only Friday after all. Hey, good work on sending that pound away, though. Hi Dance . . .Hi Slim. Keep moving and shaking and planning, girls. :carrot: I don't think I'll ever have to worry about doing too much exercise . . . certainly not at the rate I'm going. :D Have a great day all. Here's a dose of :dust: to help us along. See you tomorrow. :carrot: |

Checking in with all you beautiful ladies! Yep, I checked twice...today is Saturday! Whew! ( see previous post )
I'm so happy that I've been keeping a personal journal! I'd started this journey January 8th, and although at times I stumble and panic thinking I'm not making progress, all I have to do is start from day one...read...and see just how much I've accomplished. I did that this morning. I recommend it to anyone. I don't think we know just how far we've come, until we look back. It's so easy to focus on forward and how far we have yet to go, but to look back and see how hard we've been working, how we make the right choices daily and persevere whether we want to or not...well, we all should pat ourselves on the back. Even on my "bad/cheat" days, I exercise more, make healthier food choices and do better than most people on their good days... So ladies. Just wanted to take this opportunity to commend one and all. This is not for sissies! Keep plugging away and we'll make it to where we want to go! |
Thanks for the encouraging post, Itsforme! Yes you are right in that we need to keep looking forward but it does help to also look back at the successful road we have traveled!!
