Gayle-Sending prayers your way for FIL.

Bev-I am on Core, but when I was on Flex, I never counted carrots toward points. I ate them by the tons. Funny little story-my mom used to eat so many carrots that her skin turned yellow. The dr. said to quit eating so many of them. I wouldn't worry about counting them, though. BTW, I am so proud of you for exercising with Gayle and me!!

Goddess Dee-I hope you are enjoying PV! Check in with us when you can!

Janice-I am proud of you for your weight loss for the month!! That is so wonderful. Keep up the good work!

Better go-I've got to his gas before work.

Love to all!

Suzy-Good for you on your weight!

Erin - Thanks for the doctor tips. I am going to call the specialist today and see if I can get on a cancellation list.
I try to get to the gym at least three times a week. I love the pool. I can't imagine 40 minutes on the eliptical machine. I do 10 minutes and think I'm doing great. I do 10 minutes eliptical, 10 minutes bike and 10 minutes treadmill. Then about an hour in the pool. At least its something more than I usually do.
CONGRATULATIONS to all of you staying on program.
Summer is coming and bathing suit ads are a great inspiration.

ERIN - THANK YOU!!
I called the Ruematoligist (sp) this morning and they had a cancellation for Monday February 6th. I was so happy. Less than a week not 10 weeks.

Janice ~ That is wonderful! I'm so glad that you were able to get an appointment so much sooner!

Shelley ~ I had a friend here who ate so many carrots that her skin turned yellow too! The doctor was worried that she was having liver problems and it turned out to be all the carrots she was eating!

Erin ~ I hope you're not getting sick! That stomach bug has been going around here too...it's not fun from what I hear.

Gayle ~ Thanks for the encouragement! I'm working on it...

Congrats to ALL who had a loss for the week!
Thanks for all the tidbits about my carrot dilemma! I've heard about peeps skin turning color from eating too many carrots as well as their, umm, pee was an orange color. SORRY - hope no one was eating at their 'puter while reading. lol

Janice - I am so happy that you are able to get into the dr. earlier than TEN WEEKS...I hope they will have some "relief" for you! (My Dad has rheumatoid arthritis and I see how painful it is for him - so I FEEL for you!)

Gayle - you don't know your cuzin very well - mustard (blech) but I try to tolerate it occasionally lol It kind of reminds me of vinegar (ewwww) I'm pretty much fine eatin' a carrot w/o a dip. Thanks for the "sigh" info...that is interesting...I'll have to be more "in tune" with myself when eating...which is the way it should be anyway.

WOW - after reading what those of you who are doing FLEX count and don't count...I feel confused...I count ALMOST everything...except salad (lettuce and such) and green beans. I guess I'm still in the old mode where taters, carrots, and the like are starches and I thought you were supposed to count those...I need to do MORE reading and studying of the PLAN again!

Thanks to ALL for your support! Reading others' posts really helps inspire and motivate me!

Good evening ladies, I feel a lot better today. I think it was just stress. I had a group home come and interveiw some of my clients today and it was making me nervous. It went as well as could be expected. One of my clients was pulling down her pants. ( Not the best 1st impression) But another one was an absolute angel. I was so proud of her. I really hope they pick her to leave. She deserves a chance. I felt like i was selling a car though. It was really stressful.
Then my best friend calls me and she is having MAJOR marrital problems. I just want to eat my popcorn and watch Dr. Phil!! I dont want to sound harsh but i want to change my name and number somtimes so people will leave me alone. Then i feel guilty for not being unhappy in my marriage and that i should be doing stuff with her. Anyway...thanks for listening to me vent.
Janice- I'm glad i was able to help. Here is another secret. Pretend you have a rotary phone and "dial" 0 so you can always talk to a real person. This way you arent talking to a machine and waiting around like an idiot for people to call you back. You have stuff to do too right? Why should you have to sit by the phone and wait? Always get the name of the person you talked to too and try to get chummy with them.

Erin

Erin, my "best friend" from high school is the SAME WAY!!!!!!!! She always has some sort of trauma/drama going on in her life and will not leave me out of it. Plus, everytime I talk to her she tries to pull me down (I don't know if she's doing it on purpose)--it's like, if she can find fault with MY life, it'll make HER feel better!!

Anyway, I quit answering the phone when she called about 3 or 4 months ago and I did feel guilty FOR A WHILE, but I soon got over it when she stopped calling. Now I finally have some PEACE!

I'm here Cheryl! Checking in when I can. I spent the day at the hospital with Steve, MIL & FIL. Looks like he will be there a few more days...
This hospital lacks so many things, we are scared to leave him by himself. Yesterday the resp. therapist shut his oxygen off for a breathing treatment and then forgot to turn it back on! It was 1.5 hours before a family member could figure out why he was feeling so ill and not able to breath. They have also mixed up a few pills along the way...makes one feel safe & trusting while enjoying the hospital stay. :-)

Erin, great advice you gave Janice! I had a couple of friends I dropped this past year too. I realized they could care less about my life but were always the "Drama Queens" with happenings in their life.

Cheryl, how is school going?

Bev, I think your doing GREAT!!! I bet you will soon have a great report of pounds lost! Have fun this weekend & stay safe!

I'm out here too Cheryl. Just lurking. Not much new with me.
Went to the gym this morning. The pool makes my joints feel better for a while.
Thanks for the tips Erin. I will remember them!

I talked to my baby boy tonight and he told me that he received a meritorious promotion today to Corporal! I am one proud mama!

Gayle ~ I hope your father-in-law can go home soon! Hospitals aren't all they are cracked up to be these days.

Janice ~ Sounds like working out in the pool is just the ticket for you! I did water aerobics once and it really is an excellent workout...keep it up!

Bev ~ I know it can be confusing trying to figure out what to count and what not to count, but soon it will all be second nature...keep with it!

Cheryl ~ I agree...it's been really quiet in here today!!!

Shelley ~ How are you??? You've been awfully quiet the past couple of days...

Dee ~ I hope you're having fun!

Congratulations, Suzy! That's awesome!

Cheryl-I'm here, just too lazy to post much.

Gayle-Sounds like malpractice to me!! That is absolutely horrible.

I've been investigating this person that sent Patty that obscene object. I have the email address. The company sent me the person's address. Anyone want to email this person for me? I don't want them to know it came from me or anyone I know. I'm just trying to find out who it is. I'm not sure what I would even say to find out. I wish Ramona were around. She is such a good detective!

Thanks ladies...I'm very proud! Travis works hard and has a lot of extra responsibilities so it's nice they recognized that! He has 60 more days in Iraq and then he will be back in CA. He will be here for 2 weeks sometime in April.

Shelley ~ File a police report and hand the information over to them! What this lowlife did is a crime and it should be treated as such!

Shelley, I agree with Suzy! A police report should be filed so if something more serious ever happens. That way you will have documentation of calling the company and filing the report with the police. Does this person live near you? Was the package sent to Patty and not a mistake? He really should be reported...I'm not saying this to scare you, but there are many sick minded people in this world and he could eventually end up hurting someone. A person of sound mind doesn't send a very sexual adult item to a young high school girl. I apologize for not asking you about the situation, I thought it was a mistake on the companies part. I would email him for you other then too much info is listed in my email address. Please do report him, we want to keep Patty & other safe from nuts like this.
BTW: Do you have his name? If so, I might have a suggestion...email me.

Suzy, I bet you are so excited to see April get here!!!!

Off to work, then I will probably try to stop by the hospital on my lunch and then go up again this evening. He is fuctioning on 20% of his lungs and the hospital so far has shut his oxygen off for 1.5 hours (his lips were turning blue) and has screwed up his meds at least two times that we know of. It is a very good thing family members are staying around the clock with him. He is malnourished so the doctor ordered 4 boost shakes a day. Yesterday, finally at 2:00 in the afternoon, I asked for a shake. They never offered another one until 9:00 last night. The doctor even said it was prescribed so the nurses should just bring it with the meds and we wouldn't need to ask for it.

Please pray for baby Skylyn! A friend of Liz's had her baby at 27 weeks. Skylyn weighed 1 pound, 11 ounces (27 ounces!!) the doctors are saying she is doing well considering....last night the mom texted messaged Liz and said she was able to see the baby and she was crying. Hopefully, this is a very good sign.
